HOpefully De Gea will not be in the team vs Chelsea but Id like to see Carrick given more of an attacking role behind Rooney. He has his wobbly days but when he comes good he can be devastating. Should there be a defender on Torres or just let him do what he wants as he wont score anyhow

Carrick used to have awesome days but now they are overlooked because of how mediocre he has become and has alot of bad days. He doesn't command control in the midfield and when he does he only pushes backwards in our own half of the pitch. No possible way he has any attacking qualities because he never pushes foward so therefore you are an idiot.

Dear unsigned, You are talking sh**e - how long did Veron, Djemba Djemba, Kleb. last ? FIVE MINS ! Neville and Brown both beset with injuries and "getting on" not long either. How long has SAF been playing Carrick? Four years ?
I would be the first to herald in the new young players - I think Cleverley is great - but get off Carricks back and support ! "Fans " like you at best bore me and at worst . .well . . .

Carrick is s**t and De Gea is going to be best in world. By the by, being fans of a football team gives you the right to discuss selection, criticize decisions etc. its half of what makes it enjoyable and part of why people go on forums. If you get so easily offended by other peoples opinions I suggest you take up knitting...

For me, this is the plan for the next year.


1) Tie Berbatov down to a new deal so we don't lose him on a free.

2) January dealings i think should be as follows...Barkley to come in with Gibson going the other way with perhaps Macheda going their on loan. He for me will be the young lad that will take Carrick's role in the team. Also I strongly feel that Modric will join so i think that could be a rare big January signing for us. Lastly I expect Kovacec (sorry spelling) to join and be loaned back to Dinamo till Summer.

3) Summer will see Berbatov and Owen leave, Erick Torres will sign on, possibly going back to Chivas for the year. Also can see Iturbe coming in with one more striker. This could be Llorente or Rossi (two different players of course). Powerful Llorente for me would be my pick, excellent striker, good on the ball as well and excellent in the air. Think he will sign for us.

4) A LB would be a luxury, not sure who, Izaguirre will no doubt be looked at.

Would be glad to hear all your comments.

EJ {Ed007's Note - I am 'officially' saying that Izzy has been valued at £25 million plus add ons AND Ravel Morrison on a 5yr loan deal (on the recommendation of you guys). If you can get me a signed Rooney top/poster for my (ahem) nephew, I will see if that deal is acceptable ;-)

We wont be signing more than 1 striker mate. We already have Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck. Berbatov will more than likely leave as will Owen perhaps. Even then we still have Macheda and Keane lurking in the background.

As long as carrick is not playing we have a good chance!! Be interesting who plays instead of cleverly, I also think smalling might play right back and jones cente back with ferdindand.

I reckon we'll see anderson + fletcher in the middle tomorrow, young and nani left and right wing respectively.. maybe smalling, ferdinand, jones and evra as the back four. Think ferdinand was being rested against benifica for the chelsea game.. rooney and chica up front blatez

Fletcher should seriously be played over carrick, he's already playing better at the moment and he's only just come back from a heavy duty virus, shows the level he'll be able to play to in a few weeks when he's played more games!
