Manchester United Rumours
Don't post on website a lot but few people been saying what expect SAF & us to do in summer, im not in the know so don't take my world as truth but for argument sake & general opinion I saw that some people saw a young CB coming in, I can understand that as can see Evans being loaned out in Jan to summer somewhere & that still only eave 4 CB options for us first 2 are no doubt Rio & Vidic, next is Smalling who still inexperienced & learning at then Wes Brown, who had bad injury record, not young man men but still good square player to have, so can understand why people see young CB coming or a CB, Kjaer at Wolfsburg is a good option I like him as someone who got positional sense, & good passing CB with calm head that being said though Smalling has look of someone who can do that to in future so see more brutish stronger CB to take play maybe as a different option Subotic good option strong CB young to, but think people so look litter closer & see Phil Jones at Blackburn whose 18, big lad height no problem at 6'0, big build, loves a battle up for challenge, & whilst Big Sam used him as CM these season & says good enough player to do so I believe at best when at CB, when SAF went to watch Blackburn vs Sunderland on Monday there host of other managers from PL clubs also there & all said were watching Henderson but with our CB's getting older, not enough cover who are good enough right now think makes sense, I don't know if he ever leave Blackburn or be even sold by them or if SAF want him but whilst not going to 2nd guess what happen but think good buy I like him & think got a lot of potential in his game & really good talent to, wouldn't cost a lot for CB about 10M ish, think do well at OT.

As for GK, don't see Neuer coming in, think Bayern Munich bound if were go anywhere, they want a GK & Bayern board like him, his girlfriend from Munich to I think & Schalke 04 trying get him on new deal to 2013 to keep him a little big longer if doesn't go, I like him as GK & sure SAF does to but just can't see it happening.

As other options are Maarten Stekelenburg, out contract in 2012, no intention of staying longer has experience at 27/28, I think good option to have as no.1 GK, and I don't have major problems with him as such but wouldn't be my own first choice option.

Igor Akinfeev, 24/25 so got age has experience, think really good shot stopper, but I don't like him, lacks a lot things to be success in PL & not here imo, lacks a voice at back to command his area, mot good enough from crosses which you need whilst may come over time for him & may be harsh on lad I not fan of his & don't think good enough to be our new no.1 GK

Lloris, everything to be good GK & succeed in PL & here imo, young man at 23 but has experience to, my 2 things that feel may not be ideal is 1) His not someone to make his voice heard at the back & 2) Sometimes during crosses doesn't know if to stay or go & leaves him in no mans land & leaves his player feeling same, normally he stays & his agile & quick enough to make quick reactions saves to cover for not getting crosses but still a concern also his Lyon man & Lyon are without doubt 1 if not the hardest people to speak 2 about players they over charge on all stars, even if known they are selling club, so yes good enough but be most expensive buy as GK think 20M be about price were go for.

As last but not least my no.1 pick, David de Gea. I Keep hearing a lot people going by SAF word no.1 new GK needs have experience, think few things don't add up there, 1) If your good enough you will play regardless of age, 2) experience can be loosely translated, only way get experience is by playing, & DdG does his A. Madrid no.1 GK, he starts all games in goal & he played in Europe for whole year now, whilst may only be Europa league he has had games in Champions League before to & 3) To back that up he never gets bothered or fazed by any situation so the need for experience is odd 1 to use, he has it, not as much as other GK maybe & what lacks there he makes up for this ability I listed above which 4) In turn you need to succeed at OT & PL in Goal as well, 5) he is best young GK on planet, there isn't a doubt in my mind imo, it speaks volumes he was selected in Spain 2010 World Cup 30–man team but missed 23-man cut so Vicente del Bosque must of felt DdG was good enough to challenge for chance in 23-man team with Reina, Iker & Valdez also there, like said that speaks volumes about what the Spain national team coach thinks of him 6) SAF also feels same way, SAF never ever misses a MUFC game to watch someone play & he did, im sure watching Valencia play also had impact & was most pressing thing but he brought Eric Steele along with him so must have had eye on how he did in game from GK coach (also if look at that fact) Eric Steele also did personal scouting checks on Lindegaard before brought him in as well whilst I've never seen or heard him to so with any other GK we been linked with? (Could be wrong with that 1 though) 7) General talent, he has lot, he calm as you like, he has backing of players around him, good enough play ball our with feet as well, command area's good shot stopper, good handling, 1 on 1 is good to, & trait of saving most penalties, being 20 is but age being good enough to have SAF want to see you in person is something that won't happen every day of the week 8) SAF sadly will not be around forever & in my heart I feel this be last MUFC team before waves goodbye so feel want to see it be a youth full side all through out teams/squad with the experience of older lads of course still there & with Lindegaard around whose 25/27 with Amos there to that's 3 GK's there to all challenge for No.1 GK Spot who are all at good age to learn off from & its healthy competition which only good thing, 9) DdG a big VDS fan & models himself on his game whilst integrating his own style into his game to & it shows, very similar & his fully aware of SAF wanting & liking him, chances like this come by very few times & think DdG not extending his time at A. Madrid when A. Madrid trying tie him down to longer deal past 2013 to increase wages & buyout clause but him putting on hold says a lot & lastly 10) 15M for GK of such quality, which such potential , SAF likes him as shown & by what I said, need new no.1 GK/someone to challenge for it & he fits bill, in couple years he be costing about 30M, A. Madrid are a selling club, make no mistake about that, he will leave just matter of when & how much, A. Madrid already have replacement in Sergio Asenjo whose also rated as next big young GK, makes sense to move for him next summer & sticking my neck out it makes a lot of sense & think do well for us.

CM needs looking into, think need 2 at least, I thought for awhile was Defour but not seen anything linking him here apart from agent drumming up interest, that's about it, his also got another injury set back to this time out for few months with shoulder injury, so not moving in Jan imo & by time gets back time fit may already brought someone in Jan so maybe no need for him anymore who knows.

A fair few people seeing us going for out & out playmaker CAM like a Hamsik for example can't see it, cost to much & yes talent never in doubt but we don't play with a playmaker forward thinking CAM, we play 2 deep laying playmaker who can get up down pitch to defend & attack with good passing ability rather then CAM who plays in hole as we like to have one our 2 front man in 4-4-2 drop off into that space so no need, & we don't do that in 4-3-3 either as use same tactics, as like keep hold of midfield with 3 static midfielders who have pace, energy & work rate to get up to support attacks & go back to defend like Ando showing right now. To add to that even brought Hargo he wasn't out & out CDM as more box 2 box but defended more then he attacked but had energy to do both.

If you want my opinion think be CM's who has pace, work rate, energy to do both attack & defend, whilst 1 be more CDM defensive minded CDM a bit like Hargo was but can do both & another who sits in CM & keeps up down pitch all ay long, we need CM in as Hargo not staying for next season & Scholes not getting any younger, so only leaves Carrick, Fletch & Ando, Carrick more about positional sense, awareness, tracking of player with good passing distribution (when on form) so not someone to really go forward a lot, Ando opposite like go forward & not defend as such, strong man, with lots of energy, Fletch more combative & about being a presence there, player need for big games but not someone to have awareness to play Carrick role or attacking role Ando does right now not say not good enough to do it or talent just other 2 are just better at it then those the thing that Fletch has over them if he always up for those big matches every game & need that guy there in those big matches in CM.

My 2 choices are Rodwell to replace Hargo & Jordan Henderson 2 young English lads who make sense, Rodwell a box 2 box CM/CDM with awesome energy, pace, work rate, awareness, positional sense & has passing distribution so your replacing Hargo but also have someone there to not fill up Scholes boots as never gonna happen but someone who can have passing (long & short) to help fill up that gap & Henderson, again what SAF likes out CM have energy, pace, work rate, however he has something little different to our other CM as more box 2 box but his good user of ball & has pin point & wicked delivery from right boot, score goals as well & likes to keep hold ball & balls with head up all time, watched him this season & started to really like him, I know SAF big fan to & think at 20 got such bright future, rumored price 16M, may be to much in some fans eyes but to me its worth it, your buying potential now but talent so clear if you seen enough of him like myself this season to know why Sunderland & so man PL teams like him so much but most telling think is his always performing well every single game, playing him week in week out only a bonus for him, but giving your all like he does every single game regardless is a trait hard find in top level footballers nowadays.

LW, no RW needed or any winger with right foot imo need left footed to replace Giggs, we have Park, Nani, Valencia, Obertan, Bebe & Giggs all as wingers, & only Giggs plays as natural LW, Nani better on right or through middle, Valencia a RW, Bebe likes come inside on right a lot, Obertan same & Park can do this again clear to see when on LW they come inside, only Giggs stays out wide & stays to touchline, whilst he does come inside as well its not as much as our other LW, we have always played with width from our wingers, normally any real width from left when Giggs not there comes from Evra at LB which fine but like Rafael showing at RB when Nani there the link up from out wide on right is real good & same from left with Giggs there, anyone thinking Nani replacing Giggs think very wrong SAF said so during summer not LW anymore he being through middle or playing from right, Valencia a RW, Obertan & Bebe are same as Nani to me look better through middle then on left or even on right, Park good option to have but regardless of where plays on either flank he as well likes to drift to the center, so feel imo need a left footed LW to give us natural width there.

Only 1 man for me to do that has to be Gareth Bale, just has to be forgot super hype gotten this season/year he still an superb LW, whilst hype is little OTT at times it is by no means a joke to see how good he is & how good he can become, his still only 21, not LB imo his LW, he gives natural pace, width & delivery from left that we will miss when Giggs leaves & we miss now when not there, SAF a fan of his & even though Spurs want to keep him & Levy insisting not for sale is pure rubbish not true for any team bar Barca or/& Real, if wants go or big money comes in then player goes just how it is, though levy & Spurs are normally real tough to get players off from & even if were for sale would he even want to leave? Hard to say & then price has to be 30-35M at least for him, but replacing Giggs is never going be easy, his not going be around alot longer, though he could stay till 2012 I can't not see it being any longer then that & won't change fact need replace him 1 way or another at some point & think best man for the job.

CF an interesting 1 our current CF line up looks like Rooney, Berba, Chicha, Kiko & Owen, Well Owen not staying till 2012 I am sure of that so leave in summer, Kiko think honestly believe needs to be on loan somewhere to get that game time week in week out like Welbeck doing now at Sunderland, Chicha & Rooney here to stay & Berba a unknown contract due in 2012 not seen new 1 offered, his good player who can be great 1 game then bad next, his 29 now & 30 in months time, not sure if SAF will re new it or what happen so have to wait till summer on that 1. Welbeck is also to come back but I feel he may be sold on, he wants 1st team action he got that taste of it now at Sunderland he knows prob be on bench most games & I said before I feel no coincidence was sent to Sunderland on loan, as im sure SAF thought might be a make weight for Henderson, though never do swap deals it might make us go to head of the queue to offer something or someone no other team can do to get him. Kiko hasn't impressed great deal this season when given chance so maybe loan move next year at some point needed like I said earlier for him, so leaves Berba who hit & miss at best when his on form his very good when his not he looks really average imo, Rooney who has start & play as he only real goal threat & creativity to our side who can do it every game & Hernandez who feels bit like Owen & Ole was, poacher of goals, someone to stretch a tired defense, good finisher but at his best from bench imo.

By next season my guess is our front line prob be Rooney, Berba & Hernandez as sure bets Kiko may sent on loan, can't see Welbeck or Owen staying, leaves us with 3 CF which think not enough need 4, not even attempting to say if happening or not or anything like that but gotta say Benzema an ideal man, SAF a huge admire of him, forgot the he choice Real Madrid stuff for just a sec, yes will leave fans with bitter taste in their mouths but don't forgot the talent & its Real Madrid him wanting be there not exactly hard to understand even I die hard through & through fan of any team not just us wouldn't be to dumb founded to understand why went there.

His only 23, so still young, like said SAF still likes him & Real want rid of him, Jose doesn't fancy him & wants a target big man CF instead who knows can finish reliably for him & why think he got for A. Bilbao CF Fernando Llorente, knows La Liga, can finish, big man, can score with any foot or head, strong player who at age Jose likes with experience to boot at 25/26, makes sense to me.

Benzema move when went there I said wasn't best thing wouldn't work & wasn't being bitter being realistic, not suited to Real Madrid or La Liga imo & he looks disillusioned figure there, papers say trains alone, doesn't have mental side to his game & doesn't deliver week in week out, not good enough for them, I think that comes down to a few things 1 at Lyon was main man, at Real his not, at Lyon he had friends & family there at Real its just him, that Ribery/him scandal/court case has to hanging over his head, its silly thing to get involved in & sure he will be worrying about it, what needs imo is someone have arm around him, & tell him how good he is every week, im sure once court case is done with (not heard due date for that) & find out what happens to him & if doesn't end up in jail of course may be back to his best, if you don't believe me when say that watch England vs French yes we were poor that night but Benz was great you could tell he had friends there, Blanc put back into the side when Raymond Domenech pushed him out, he plays like man who knows his as good as everybody think he is & it showed, the difference between French national team Benzema & Real Madrid Benzema is staggering is not even funny.

The talent never in question, he is the complete CF, not a lot things he can't do, just needs fresh start, a manger to believe in him & have some confidence back in his game, a lot of teams will be around looking at him but SAF will see that will be cheaper buying him in June/July 2011 then last summer imo, so I can't see why SAF be won't looking at him in 2011 summer, added bonus is he when (on form) delivers every week like he did at Lyon & can play in 4-4-2 or in 4-3-3 as any player in the front 3 which is only a good thing, theres a real lack of pace imo as well from our CF as all to statics & Benz more about moving/ghosting into little spaces in box or around back 4/2 CB's, so got clever movement so that frees up space for him & other to go into, I would go for him if were me, just think he be happy here then either Real Madrid, SAF put arm around him, his versatile, SAF a fan still young, got game, got potential just needs to show it at the right club.

Obviously im only adding my opinion here & not in the know just come on here every now & then to see anything interesting, so anyone taking my word here as gospel is wrong as just fan like everybody else but up for a debate but there my views I could go on & on but hay ho, also disappointed that Chelsea game got called off, best chance beat them in league at Bridge for good while, wouldn't shock me if game was pushed all way back to last week in PL in May next year.

He couldn't even cut it a Carlisle in League One. .

Norwood has great technique and has a good passing range but all this could have been said about Eikrem too (he was also a lot better in this points) and he is on his way to Molde. He will probably end up in championship but i don't think he will be good enough for the premier league.

The only United cm's who will have a chance in the future are Pogba and maybe Tunnicliffe (who improved a lot in the last season). Both have good athleticism and enough drive to play in a 2 man midfield. In Pogbas case you also have a lot of class on the ball too.

@Don't forget Morrison, Cleverley & Petrucci, we also have Jack Barmby, Van Velzen & Luke Hendrie for the U16s.

"Jonny Evans could go to rangers on loan in January this could be possible as he is a big rangers fan"

@Wont happen mate, its not about the player choosing where he wants to go, he will be sent to a Premiership club if he was to be loaned out, someone like Sunderland or Newcastle would be my guess. Especially if Taylor is sold. Villa is an option, especially if Dunne is still having bust-ups Houllier.

United are to tie up a double swoop in january for the summer transfer of Rene Adler and Arturo Vidal for between 20-25M from bayer leverkusen. That will be all that comes in with the exception of a couple of youngsters, and the loan return of Welbeck and Cleverley.

I've done a lot of posts on the probable signings heres one that's more of a scouting report of the Sunderland-Bolton game. I watched this one with a lot of interest particularly because of the 2 players who are being touted as future Red Devils being involved in this match and coz of Welbeck ofcourse.
Its a good feeling if you are a youngster and score the only game of a match in the PL. Welbeck's goal just reassures SAF's faith n this lad. His pace, his eye for goal and his touch have improved tremendously thanks to this loan spell at Sunderland and that is primarly down to the playing time he is getting at the club. Further, their are no apparent "attitude problems" that have haunted many such young palyers at United (including him) in the past and add to that the fact that he is actually getting better at using both his feet while building a move. . that my friend is quality.
However, there is one thing that worries me about this lad. He is pretty good infront of the goal and also while on the ball in the midfield. However, its when he is deep in the midfield and not on the ball that he looses his focus altogether. Don't know if you guys noticed this or not, but all throughout the game there were atleast 4-5 occasions when his awareness in the midfield (when the ball was suddenly passed onto him) was tested and he was found wanting. The thing is that such issues are taken care of when you get a good number of games continuously under your belt. He has got that but he still hasn't improved on that front. And given the kind of game that United play, he will need to improve on that.
Having said that, the beautiful 1-2 crosses that he put on with Gyan were a pleasure to watch and the lad is getting into a habit of being at the right place at the right time infront of the goal (just like Owen of yesteryears and Hernandez more recently), even when he's playing as a winger and not an out and out striker. So for me, I think this guy needs a good stretch of games and he'll be fine.

Moving on, we have G. Cahill. A player almost every top PL team has on its radar and who somehow manages to stay at Bolton after every passing transfer window. The fact that he is British and almost all PL teams are looking for that trait in a youngster is no mystery. I must admit the guy is good but more on the traditional lines. He's good at clearing the ball whenever he gets the first opportunity to do that, something that even the opposition manager was good at during his playing days. But is he suited for a team like United. The answer is Yes and No. Yes because he is solid in defense particularly in a one-on-one situation, clears his lines as soon as the ball gets to him and is even good when going forward. "No" because, as I said earlier, he is too traditional in his approach and can be easily sorted out by quality strikers (well atleast in theory) particularly when the area around the goal is crowded by the opposition players (as was evident in the game today and also the ones in the past). He has got the basics right but will he take the next step towards being a great defender or will he keep being a good one is a question that every manager who is scouting him has on his minds.

And then there is Henderson. Another classic case of a good/decent British player being over-touted by the media even before he has fully flourished. Let him prove his worth first and then talk about him being a regular at the International level. You can't just judge a player on form. As someone rightly said "Form is temporary, Class is Permanent". Let the boy flourish to fulfill his capabilities. We all know he's got a sound technique but please don't make another Scott Parker out of the lad. If and only if he continues his fine "form" and makes these performances a norm rather that an exception will he ever become the top class midfielder everyone wants him to be. For me, all throughout this season he has been just as good as someone like Houlden from Bolton. . but both these lads need to put in such efforts day in and day out only then do they deserve to be at a club as great as ours.
We've got our own share of promising youngsters and most of them are home grown, so if you want young British talent why not trust our youth system rather than buying someone who "could" be a future England International and that too for a hefty sum.
Yes even I like Henderson, Rodwell and Cahill. .and even I would like them to be at United someday when they prove our estimations right. .but whats the rush?? We can always bid for 'em when someone else makes a move.

@Sydney

If you visit a certain newspaper website that rhymes with the gun then go to the United page and look for a story about the perfect time to beat chelsea, it has a video interview in the article where sir alex states that Tom Cleverley will be staying at Wigan until the end of the season.
