manchester united have agreed to sign Nicolas Gaitan from benfica for a fee of around 30 million and to join us by june because they wouldnt sell him in january because they are still in the champions league

Van der Wiel has agreed terms with valencia over a contract that runs out until mid 2017.
Van der Wiel expects ajax and valencia to reach an agreement and if everithing goes well he will sign a 5 yr contract,he added that will stay with ajax until the end of the season.
We dont need him, We have rafael, smalling for rb, jones can play there aswell and if were pushed then so can fabio and valencia...mufc

There are some rumours linking us with rodwell but i for one wouldn't like man utd to sign him.He is a good player but overrated because he is english and i think we can buy better players than him without spending about 20mil which i think is what everton will demand for him.
Most would agree that would prefer Javi Martinez or M'Villa but Rodwell is more likely and is a known target of SAF, if we were to sign him it would not contradict what fergie said regarding transfers in jan

What a superb goal by carrick.
I have no shame in admitting that i wasn't a fan of carrick's but he has turned me by his performances of late.hope he continues to play like this.

I also thought Carrick was excellent and it was great to see both centre midfielders trying to get forward at every opportunity. Jones very much reminded me of Keane in his pomp today with his forward bursts. I also thought Evans was great today apart from missing the chances! i think that if we dont buy a defender in January he might be are most important player for the rest of this season. I don't mean influential but it will be vital if he is to be Rio's partner for the rest of the season, then if we can get him to finally fufill his potential (and we might not miss Vidic as much as we think) then it might be the differance between 1st and 2nd place.

No way will the twins be sold.... Last year when SAF was asked who'd be in his dream squad from all his players he's had at OT the twins were in it and he described them as being "something else".

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - There is no change I am awre of with Gaitan but I will ask on Wednesday when the opportunity arises to see if there is an update at all. UNtil then, Manchester United and Barcelona are both interested in the winger but PSG may be the first to put an offer on the table. Asking price is an issue. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG have spoken with Benfica but no bid has been made (as of December 15 morning). Barcelona are also interested but I suspect would like to wait until the summer. As for Oezil, I don't see that he would be available until the summer when I rather expect Real Madrid to do some work on their midfield.}
I said a few months ago that RM will want Goetze, but Oezil and Goetze in the same team could be a problem. I guess they are making room for Goetze by making Oezil available for sale? Perhaps a bit presumptuous, but I really think this is what will happen, maybe SAF could see this happening last summer which is why he contacted Oezil's agent.
I would be devastated if we signed Gaitan and then Oezil was made available. But if we don't act now and get someone sorted for next season, then we may pay the price again and miss out on any midfielder. This would mean another season of the cretins getting on my back, blaming me for no new midfielder every time United lose or draw a game ;)

its just when your that quick to tell people if there right or wrong there going to take an opportunity to give it back when you get something wrong, dont take it to heart pal its just a banter site.

It would be nice if we could get a deal tied up ready for the summer. If RM know what their plans are then January might be the ideal time to either strike a deal for him to join us in the summer or lay the foundations for a move. I echo the sentiments that I would be gutted if we signed Gaitan and then Ozil became available.

I know it's banter mate and I love it, just wish some people would leave a name because I will never be able to give it back to them when United sign a £25m+ midfielder. At least we can leave a name and can take a slamming if we get something wrong, those cowards cannot.

Was gonna say what jred said. I believe Gaitan is a talented player but he's more used to playing out wide than in the middle and when he's in the middle i can't see him providing enough defensive cover. But then again if all these reports are true and we've more or less signed him, i'm not one to go against SAF's judgement of the player. Should be interesting through january.
Honestly think that a new LB is becoming more inevitable after watching Evra today against QPR. Although he was better in the second half.

Maybe you have got it wrong like you said mate. When United drop points, I get a few anonymous posters giving me grief because I said in the summer that we will sign a new midfielder, but we never bought a midfielder and somehow I get blamed for this. So I was merely saying that I hope we sign a midfielder this summer so I do not get grief from the anonymous posters again next season when United drop points and they are in a bad mood.

WS has had one good season at club level since leaving Ajax. That was a couple of seasons back, when Inter won the treble. Next season he'll be pushing 29, will only be fit enough to play 15-20 games per season and you want to buy him?? We already have enough injuries to start another EPL team. I think we should go for Tiote and Ganso/Ericsson/Hamsik. £20m for Tiote and £30m- £40m for the creative midfielder.If we went for WS I think it should be for £15 million and £40,000 per week. he is like Kaka great at his peak, past it at 27

Just paper talk mate! Wait till United comes out and tell you about signings. My view is that its going to be someone out of the the blue. None of the talked about staff.
