Hi Eds, have MU shown interest to goalkeepers for in case De gea lives in the summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

18 Feb 2018 15:44:49
Thanks for reply, Can you tell where the interest have been shown?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Alisson, Oblak, Donnarumma, Butland, though there is just as much chance of Romero being given a run rather than a new one being bought.}

18 Feb 2018 16:09:01
Thank you Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

18 Feb 2018 16:10:50
Do you expect De Gea to leave? Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - far too soon to say.}

18 Feb 2018 17:22:58
Ed001, if DDG was to leave who in your opinion would be the best option to replace him?
Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Alisson, he is the one keeper who has the potential to be better than DDG.}

19 Feb 2018 09:53:27
Liverpool want him also don’t they and Real.

Liverpool wants Navas, and Madrid want Allison to be a back up keeper. There are very good insight about Real Madrid transfer plans from Ed002 on their page.

Anymore players (any position) we are looking at you can name ed1? What positions are we trying to strengthen in?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - defenders. They seem to be the main priority for the summer. Full backs in particular. There is interest in the Napoli full backs but I am not sure they will want to move this summer as Napoli seem to be building something right now. Also interest in Inter's Cancelo though I am not sure if he is a full back or defender or not, just know he has been recommended.}

20 Feb 2018 08:46:21
We do need strengthening in the full back areas so hopefully we get the defenders correct because many transfers in the recent years haven't worked out as hoped.

On a side note I hope Napoli win the Serie-A this year BUT I have a fear they will be raided a bit by other clubs and might end up in a situation similar to Monaco of this season.

Also ed1 when we were looking at Lindelof you said you expect him to be a good buy, the club had scouted him for a long time and also people who watched him more regularly than you told you he would be a good buy.
So my question is what do you make of him? He hasn't played a lot but he hasn't played well enough on the occasions he has been selected?

Do you we should stick by him and will we stick by him or will he be moved on if possible?

I think we should give him a chance.

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you have to give him more of a chance than he has had if he is to succeed. Though he has not impressed so far, he has been in and out and very few players can impress without a steady run of games.}

20 Feb 2018 12:46:02
The guy needs game time. Some players settle quicker than others.

Ed given we seem to be looking at bringing in 2-3 defenders I'm guessing some are going to be moved on. Any indications on who may be available or if any clubs are interested in any?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Blind, Smalling, Jones, Shaw and Rojo off the top of my head are players Jose would like to be replaced.}

20 Feb 2018 12:56:48
Basically the a whole ne2 defence is needed. I think ww should keep Rojo as a back up and Shaw as someone to rotate with next year.

Ed do you think Young will move on next yeqr or will he still have a part to play as a full back next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Jose likes him and would like to keep him, for now at least.}

20 Feb 2018 13:12:09
Cool thnx ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

20 Feb 2018 13:29:47
You forget Darmian Ed001, and thanks for your information.

Names of central defenders Mou would be interested to if you have any?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you are right I did forget all about Darmian.

I don't know what centre backs are being looked at right now, sorry.}

20 Feb 2018 13:40:05
No worry Ed, thank you again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

20 Feb 2018 14:21:24
Are we interested in Tierney of Celtic? It will be hard for anyone to prise him away from Celtic for sometime still but you don't know until you try.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Utd are just one of the clubs that would love to sign Tierney but it's not going to happen any time soon. It'll be years before he leaves Celtic, if at all.}

20 Feb 2018 14:37:55
Although it might sound a bit rude, bit harsh Bond but surely he will want to move to a different league and look for a new challenge. Surely he will at some point get bored of winning the Scottish League but never really having a strong chance of getting into the latter stages of the CL.

I know he is a born and bred Celtic guy but still.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Maybe in years to come but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see KT emulate Paul McStay and stay at Celtic his entire career. He'll need to move out of his folk's house first lol The latter stages of the CL aren't the be all and end of a footballer's ambition and with the dawning of Euro Super Leagues who knows what the future holds:

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43080086

Btw, I know KT has a soft spot for Utd so they would definitely have a strong chance of signing him if he ever does decide to move.}

20 Feb 2018 15:15:14
Get in there bond now we are talking. He seems to have a very sensible head, a humble guy with feet firmly on the ground. It's actually a great thing that his love for Celtic might be enough for him to turn down tons of money, a fancy new city, everything. I know he is living hid dream and that is one of main reason I am very fond of him.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Money won't come into it for him, Deep and he doesn't buy into all the glitz and glamour side of modern football. While other young players are out partying and chasing women KT's sitting in his room playing video games with Paddy Roberts - I think KT's mam even put bunk beds in the room for them ;)

20 Feb 2018 15:45:52
That is a very interesting to hear edu and my fondness for KT is growing by the posts. But shouldn't that be the norm ed? Loyalty before money. Most players at the top tier still make more money than majority of the fans that pay to see them play.

But I hope we sign him down the line and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends being the captain wherever he goes (or stays? )

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Players get far too much too early these days and a lot of them could learn a thing or two from KT about how to carry themselves, simple things he does like making sure everyone outside the ground or training ground gets an autograph or picture no matter how many there is waiting show you the kind of young man he is.
He's already captained Celtic - the 2nd youngest in our history - a few times and his ambition is to be Celtic's club captain at some point.}

20 Feb 2018 19:24:57
KT is right to stay where is is for anther couple of years at least imo. He is working under a very good coach imo and will gain geat experience at Celtic playing every week. If he continues to progress and improve he will move eventually but he is only a kid. No need for him to move yet imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2018 11:02:13
he's already at the biggest club in the world deep.

What do you think of Romero ed1? I think he is great keeper for us to be the backup but If he is to replace DDG (if he goes) then I won't be as confident. Also how is the young lady J. Pereira though of as?

Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - as a back up, Romero is excellent, but not good enough to be first choice. You would need to replace de Gea if he went. Pereira did well at Rochdale but not sure how he is getting on this season or last at Belenenses, though I would assume he did well as he is very highly thought of by the Portugal international set up. He could well have been in contention for the World Cup squad (as 3rd choice keeper) if he had been out on loan again and acquitted himelf well, as they really rate him.}

25 Feb 2018 10:12:26
Pereira did have good reviews, reports during his time at Belenenses and was recalled last January. I think he should have been loaned out last window to a club where he would have played regularly (or even in summer) once we had DDG and Romero for at least this season.
I just hope it doesn't turn into a D. Ward situation where the lad doesn't get to play at all and doesn't get to go somewhere else and prove himself, just rots on the bench as 3rd choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - agreed, that does no one any good.}
