Press in espana reporting Barca have reluctantly
agreed to deal on Fabregas with the chosen
club being Man United for 40m euros

Believable33 Unbelievable53

Can't find this anywhere on net!

Agree1 Disagree0

Where you find this

Agree1 Disagree0

Press Espana? Can't find

Agree0 Disagree0

In his fevered imagination, probably.

Agree0 Disagree0

I did read something about fabregas having doubts about barca it was aired on a radio station called RAC1 not sure about the credibility of the station though

Hassan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 001 did say Fabregas made some comments after having his nose out of joint over Barca's interest in Ander Herrera, which may have been what triggered Utd's bid. Barca subsequently put their interest in Herrera on the back burner to sooth him.

I didn't know what comments the Ed was talking about, but that could be what you are refering to Hassan.

Thorne

Agree0 Disagree0

With the chosen club being united? I very much doubt it because arsenal have a clause in his contract that says they get first refusal so Barcelona can not chose that he goes united

Agree0 Disagree2

But if the player does not want to go there then the the clause is irrelevant!

Agree1 Disagree0

No name, despite arsenal having the clause, they would not need him and won't need him now. they need a striker. But I don't buy Fabregas thing. moving on.
RumourNo. 1

Agree0 Disagree0

When & where

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabregas is no where near worth 40m, 25 at least, I would worry if he would be fit to play at high level for 90mins as he was a bit part player at barca, he never really cemented his place there and he didn't even cement a place at arsenal either nor Spain. not worth the money and is extremely overrated,

SuperRed

Agree0 Disagree2

Arsenal supporter. Came to see what Man U fans were saying about Fabregas.
SuperRed: "didn't even cement a place at Arsenal"? Mate, what are you smoking? He was at the heart of the Arsenal team from the age of 17 to when he left. And he plays pretty regularly for Barcelona, but gets shifted around a bit. Man U would be lucky to have him -- he's just what you lot need. I'd be gutted if you got him though. Seeing RVP and Cesc in Man U kit together would be too much. (Barca would be stupid to sell him though, having offloaded Alacantra to Bayern. Xavi is 33. )

Agree1 Disagree0

SuperRed he made almost 50 appearances this season! Anyway, even if a Utd bid is accepted, he won't even think about going to Utd. He only ever wants to play for 2 teams. Arsenal and Barcelona. Words from the man himself.

Agree0 Disagree3

He says he only wants to play for Barca/Arsenal, how many people have said things like this and done something totally the opposite. He will be a utd player next season.

Gareth Bale was at Manchester United to discuss signing on Wednesday morning. True.
Everton fan.

Believable31 Unbelievable63

How did you find that out pal was you I think not would love this to be true mate

Agree0 Disagree0

This just isn't true is it.

Agree2 Disagree0

Discussing with who? A cleaner? A Megastore worker? Moyes and Woodward were in Oz on Wednesday.

Brendan81

Agree2 Disagree0

Please WUM somewhere else.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Not only was Woodward and Moyes in Oz but sly reported how Bale was at training with Tottenham today.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well Bale was in training for THFC today so for him to then travel to Manchester doesn't seem likely. If Woodward was to meet Bale you'd think his plane back from Oz would be headed for Heathrow instead.

Ashy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why even bother? Nothing official announced by the club regarding spending money, something which we are legally obliged to do, so no bid has been submitted, and therefore Bale was not given permission to travel to Manchester. Pathetic attempt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not that I believe it anyway but United have London offices so discussions could have taken place there and you could read it that the discussions were with a view to signing on Wednesday, ie next Wednesday 24th July.

Just a different perspective.

Strevs

Agree0 Disagree0

He was training with Tottenham

Agree0 Disagree0

They don't have to announce anything. Stop pretending that you have read something somewhere and it means it's law. While I don't believe a lot of these rumours, you believe that we have to say when we want to buy people. Do any other club have to do that??
Mdc

Agree0 Disagree0

Sly sports said Bale was in Tottenham, so you are making absolute non-sense mate!
RumourNo. 1

Agree0 Disagree0

On Thursday morning the paper was reporting Bale to United. They had unconfirmed rumours. The meeting on Wednesday happened whether he signs or not.

I'm told that Manchester City have been told that there is no chance of them signing Wayne Rooney.

Interestingly; we were supposedly more blunt with them on the matter (a straight up 'no' rather than any real dialogue between the clubs) than we were when rejecting Chelsea's bid - suggesting that perhaps there's a deal to be done at the right price providing it is not with Manchester City.

redseven

Believable29 Unbelievable9

There is just no way Rooney would be allowed to go to City.

If Moyes' first significant act as manager is to sell one of our biggest name players it cannot be to our greatest rival.

Strengthening City like that would make Moyes look incapable of competing in the big time and would test his relationship with United's fans already.

Selling to Chelsea is bad enough, but I don't think anyone sees that as being half as bad as selling to City would be.

The only exception to this would be if he sold Rooney to City for an absolute fortune and managed to bring in Ronaldo and Bale (obviously not going to happen).

Agree0 Disagree0

Any player has a price, but not neccesarily to every team.

If Chelsea offered enough we'd sell them RVP (have to be insane money), but not City. Especially after Tevez we can never sell them a big player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney to City would be like "Figo to Real Madrid" level.
The makor problem, though, is that clubs are offering a pretty low value for Rooney: 25 million pounds. Seriously, too low.

Agree0 Disagree0

If City offer the most I would sell. Rooney has been terrible for two years. Pace has gone which he is never getting back no matter how fit he gets. A new start for him and he'll probably do well and get 20 odd goals but he won't set the league alight as he just isn't that good anymore and for the money he would cost it would be nowhere near worth it. Plus it won't be long before he's 'confused' again. It will be a lot like the Tevez situation really. Can anyone honestly say he was worth it in any way, shape or form. SELL SELL SELL

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't see how DM couldve been more clear to chelsea by saying don't bother with another offer. That's pretty much straight forward aswell I would say

Everton have reached an agreement with Granada's Guilherme Siqueira, 27, to replace full back Leighton Baines, 28, who is rumoured to be on his way to Old Trafford

Oliver Holt is reporting on us bidding for Bale and other reporters are saying it has grounds as he normally reports on sporting events and not transfers so fingers crossed he is a replacement for Rooney I have always defended Rooney but he is going to far with his lack of respect for the club and it is now time to sell him for the right price, who would you lot like to replace Wayne would it be Cesc or Bale. Katef

Believable23 Unbelievable20

Kate, Bale wouldn't replace Rooney they're different types of players. Cesc might but i'd like nto see him partner Carrick. I'd give the number 10 spot to Kagawa, he's world class there and I think he'll show that this season.

Dan

Agree2 Disagree0

Why not both?

Agree0 Disagree0

Both would be just swell!

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Lack of respect for the club? What`s he done? Stop listening to gossip, unless it`s on here. lol Bale & Garay to be announced 6. 00am tomorrow, you heard it here first! from Daleman55

Agree0 Disagree2

Well, Fabregas should be brought in to partner Carrick, if Bale came, it would have to be to play on the wing, since that would be where we need him.

If it where really a choice between the two, I'd take Fabregas.

Thorne

Agree1 Disagree0

You can't class either as replacement, surely both would come in to do a different job. We need Bale for the left and Fabregas in the middle. Kagawa does Rooneys job.

Not sure we are really in for Bale, maybe the real interest is in Ronaldo. Not saying we would get any of them though

Agree1 Disagree0

I would love bale even though fab is a great player

Agree0 Disagree0

Granted they are different players, but Bale wants to play through the middle, so could be a genuine replacement for rooney. with that said, I don't see it happening.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan

Why wouldn't Bale replace Rooney after all that's why he was so good last season playing in a free role for Spurs.
I would love to see RVP up front with Bale drifting in a free role behind him.
Makes perfect sense to me

Simmo

Agree1 Disagree0

Its pretty obvious we're in for Bale. When a club ambassador says we should sign him then we're definitely interested. I think Bale would be interested as well but I don't think he has the guts to hand in a transfer request and Levy would never sell to us even if he did.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

I would say both can replace Wayne in the hole behind RvP and both can play other positions as well ie Bale on the wing and Cesc in the middle but both can play behind a striker and that's what sort of a player we will need if Wayne goes which looks more likely all the time and as for saying I don't think Wayne has shown the club respect is because I can read between the lines he has his plan he is saying he didn't put in a transfer request down to greed trying to get his loyalty bonus more like and if he wants out put in a request look at history and look how Jose does his deals Ashley cole springs to mind he is underhanded and Rooney is being greedy I think the great man SAF done the right thing by telling the world Wayne wants out and I am not listening to gossip I am making my own judgements on the Rooney saga I have defended Wayne but no more get him out and get one of the above in to replace him Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

Same ollie holt that wrote an article regarding Cavani to Utd - clutching at straws one thinks!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oliver holt did not right that article Alex Nixon did and he talks crap lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo. He's not a top class number 10, perhaps he could play a free role but you couldn't play him with two wingers either side we would be far too predictable. He could hypothetically be Rooneys replacement in terms of ins and outs this summer in a dream world but he wouldn't do the same job for the team. Bale is not happening, Madrid got turned down when talking about a world record bid and Levy would much rather sell to them than us. Kate I have no idea why you keep thinking that we can/will be getting Bale.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

My opinion: Real madrid gave up on him already and spent a pretty stupid amount of money on other players. Which means, to United, that they do not have 60 or 70 million pounds to spend.
At least, not this summer. In fact, that would be our best chance to get Bale, as City and Chelsea already spent a pretty good amount of money and Arsenal will never spend more than 30 in a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Katef, how has Rooney been disrespectful?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale bale bale this is the one mother of all transfers best player in the world no doubt get him united pleasssssse

Agree0 Disagree0

We already have Kagawa in the hole, and he's not as good out wide.

Bale on the other hand is great on the wing, so why play bale in the middle?

Agree0 Disagree0

My opinion is that with the Ronaldo situation going in until next season they will bid for bale then! maybe they was told Bale will stay at spurs for one more season, hence the bid for Isco? We honestly don't know why but I can't see us signing Bale this year. I'd put my house on it!

Adz

Agree0 Disagree0

Katef, I think you are paying too much attention to media and rumours mate. Most believes he is not happy, but I don't think he has acted to be called disrespectful. Cesc will not come in. Barca let Alcantara and Villa go. If they were to go for Silva, then I would've had a glimpse of hope that Barca might let Cesc go to free up some funds, but now that doesn't even look like it's going to happen, so I doubt that. Bale? I don't think Spurs want us to be stronger and they aren't even selling to Madrid. Why would they sell us. I know both players are going to strengthen our quality of squad, but we are focusing on near impossible targets. DM has less options, but realistically I hope we'll pull 1 near world class mf and I'll be happy.

Bruno gomes the 17 year old kid who seemed to be very intrested in joining united on his next birthday and have seen many times him posting hw much he loves united and he have rejected many offers to sign for us. It is reported that the negotiation between him and us have broke down and he wil not be joining us.
Sad 2 hear to miss out on someone who wantd 2 play for the club.

Sid

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Appears we didn't want him in the end for whatever reason

Agree0 Disagree0

I just looked on the net and the only reference is to a cryptic tweet he made which isn't any longer on his page (Or never was) as reported by a site called hereisthecity.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its sad if true, crikey we are not even capable of signing a kid of 17 years old now, no hope for the bales and fabregas of this world then. this boy was desperate to play for us aswell.
. Desperate times ahead at united me thinks

Re, gareth bale, speaking to a member of thfc playing staff in told that gareth bale will not be leaving thfc! He is extremely happy where he is with his family, he enjoys the life and surroundings where he is, he may wish to possibly move abroad at some point of his career, presumably when his child is walking and talking? But at the moment he has no intention of forcing a move or asking for a move, thank you. {Ed001's Note - this did come with a lengthy and seemingly genuine (though obviously it is impossible to check these things without meeting in the flesh to be 100% sure) explanation of where this information comes from. It actually tallies with all the things Bale has been saying to people I know, both in the past and recently. Especially as he has been looking to play more centrally and it looks like Spurs are going to give him that chance this season.}

Believable16 Unbelievable13

Have you just copied and pasted that from a red top paper?

Bale will sign for United before the window shuts he wants out and tottenham know this just look at the photo shoot for the new kit he is the only player not smiling in the video and his twitter page does not have much about anything tottenham related as you would expect if he was happy there, this post is a tottenham fan posting on our page because he is scared he is going to sign for us the writing is on the wall and Bale to United is going to happen this year or a small chance next year Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

I suggest you read the original post AND the eds reply! He's not coming!

Agree1 Disagree0

Why hasn't he said anything in public. His agent had no comment on today's rumours of him joining utd

Agree0 Disagree0

So because he isn't smiling in his photo shoot he's joining utd? I've seen some posts from you before Katef claiming we're signing this person or that person and it'll be announced tomorrow bla bla bla you're always wrong, yet say it with such conviction! you actually don't know anything about who we're signing that's an actual fact! In my opinion I don't think we'll be signing either Bale or Fabregas, we may indeed bid for him with what will be seen as a low offer just like the Fabregas one but I'm a little cynical when it comes to the motives behind these so called bids!

Jamal

Agree1 Disagree0

I have never said once in any post we would sign anybody next day never however we are in for Bale Fellaini and Baines and so before you start name calling get your facts right I was right about Moyes becoming the new manager and I am not wrong about Bale coming to us Katef

Hi ed

please let me know what is the situation for Eriksen? David moyes has he approached him or he is not in the list. we need a player like him, don't we. he is world class as well. he recently said he is ready for big club move. also who all clubs are interested, Liverpool for sure but he rejected them

red devils {Ed029's Note - I don't know but another Ed says that AC Milan are looking for agreement over Eriksen and has explained before about Man Utd and Eriksen. You will need to look it up.}

Believable6 Unbelievable15

I wonder if AC Milans almost certain signing of Keisuke Honda would calm all interest in Eriksen. I too thought maybe he could be bought for around a similar price to what we could have got Thiago for? Not a bad player.

Ozwald

He's going to Milan who are also signing Honda in January

ed, if you don't mind me asking,
it's been said in many reports that ed woodward is going back home from austrailia becuause of some urgent transfer issue. Is there any truth in it? if so, who can it be?
Thanks in advance {Ed001's Note - United have confirmed it is for transfer business, so I would assume it is correct. I literally have no idea who, I can't even think of anyone whose seemed on the verge of doing a deal with someone else that you might want.}

Believable8 Unbelievable3

I reckon it is for Garay.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope its not garay or any sort of defender such bains. i'm hoping ronaldo, bale or fabregas a guy can wish. lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon it could be bains as everton are buying a replacement leftback

Agree0 Disagree0

If its garay or baines I will be fuming!

mickey.

Agree3 Disagree0

Journalists seem to think its for Bale but something doesn't seem right about that

IF it was Bale offers don't need to be done in person and levy wouldn't agree this quick IF we have offered 60m

Agree0 Disagree0

Various sources claiming Utd have made a £60m bid for Bale this morning!

Agree0 Disagree0

God I hope its not Garay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines or Garay doesn't strike me as a deal you need to rush back for though surely

Agree1 Disagree0

Could it be anything to do with rooney and his transfer? personally I hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks ed! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rooney goes to Chelsea, they will be very strong indeed. In which case, I think there is only one player we can sign that will stop us handing them the trophy and that is Ronaldo.

Unfortunately, I don't think that it is going to be Ronaldo signing on this occasion. My gut feeling says Fabregas (which I would be very happy about)

Garay or Baines, would be pretty disappointing and I think shows a bit of a lack of ambition on Moyes' part.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 23:26:27
Eds - there is a lot of noise about at the minute with Utd supposedly close to submitting an official bid for bale. can you shed any light on this? Or confirm our interest?

Belfast Mike {Ed001's Note - United are one of, well just about every club would be interested in him, but right now I have not heard of any bids from United. Madrid are showing interest, though they need outs to bring in him. I am sure United would be in for the right price, but Moyes has his targets in mind, a left back and central midfielder being his main thoughts. Not sure who the left back will be, as it looks highly unlikely that Baines will make the switch, but I can't see Bale being considered for that position. He has said himself that he wants to play centrally, which is something that is likely to rule out any move by United, to be honest.}

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Why the hell would Bale be considered for LB? he needs the freedom to drift about and go wherever he likes he's good enough to punish from anyhwere!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the info Ed. In terms of midfielder, cesc aside, who else do you see Moyes making a move for?

JJ {Ed001's Note - apart from Fellaini? Who I know he is very keen to take with him. He wants pace and power in the centre, I am told, but I am not sure who. I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea are talked into backing off from De Rossi in order to get Rooney and allowing United an easier route to getting him. That is nothing to do with pace and power, just I remember Moyes raving about him to someone else not so long back. Now there is a chance to sign him, it would make sense, but that is an opinion rather than being based on info you are moving for him. I hate to say this, because it will get Ed007 overexcited, but Moyes does highly rate McCarthy of Wigan, he did try and sign him for Everton a couple of times. So I wouldn't be surprised if he went back for him, as it would fill a need and give him the chance to assess the squad until January.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Bale at LB. Wtf. Never heard such utter rubbish!

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not managing everton now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too long ago Bale was seen as a future left-back. Back then I seen him more of a left wing-back to give him more freedom going forward. But since then he has played centrally and I think that is where his future lays now. RM are almost certain to get him either this summer or next summer IMO.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

McCarthy is pretty good, he's not good enough to be our main midfield signing, but skillful, smart and young. Probably better than cleverly or ando honestly.

If we brought in him and someone like Fabregas I'd be happy.

Thorne

Agree0 Disagree0

Was just thinking how good it was to have the ed's back and already some people are if not insulting are rude!
All I can say is read and think about what is saying before replying.
Sydney right Bale was originally played as a wing back and just because we are not Everton doesn't mean Moyes will have different targets. We are after two Everton players signed by Moyes.
Welcome back to the Eds
Acker

Agree1 Disagree0

When exactly did Ed001 say Bale would be playing LB? Can people not read?

"I can't see Bale being considered for that position"

People need to read the posts fully before commenting.

RedDub

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed, moyes likes de rossi you say? iv been banging on to my mates for years about how he would be the perfect player for us.

tbh I never expected he would leave roma but the recent reports of a possible move to chelsea for around £11 mill gave me hope utd would at least have a decent crack at signing him.

Andrew B {Ed001's Note - I never thought he would leave either, but apparently they want to move him on. The worry is that he wouldn't be as good somewhere else, his heart might not be in it once he leaves his beloved Roma.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale will not be going Real Sydney but he will leave Tottenham for the biggest team in the world and that's us it will be this transfer window to as replacement for Rooney who will go Chelsea and as much as I love Rooney in a united shirt I would rather Bale behind RvP in ours. Katef

Agree0 Disagree1

Kate, for your sake I hope you are right =)

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So do I Sydney! and I hope for all are sakes I am right plenty of people get transfer targets wrong ie the Thiago Strootman deals which have not happened so if I am wrong shame because Bale is the best player in England right now, but if I am right then he is the best player in England at the best at the best club in the world. =) Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish you were right Kate but think Bale is settled and happy whee he is with a young family. Can not see him moving for a while yet and then may be abroad but hope I am wrong like you say best player in the premiership at the mo
