Eds, are there any updates on the situation with Garay? Has he agreed to sign for Bayern Munich? If not, do Manchester United retain an interest in the player?

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}
Man Utd are linked with everyone these days, I still maintain, we have got players lined up if not signed up already, but with it being World Cup year, we are not making any announcements.

Wesley sniejder has stated that it would be hard to turn down united if lvg was to offer him a deal. Let the sniejder rumours begin

Here we go again!

Yes seen this on sky sports. However don't think he's a player we need right now, plays too high up the pitch IMO. I think Blind would be a great signing, if not for left back, for center mid. Was dutch player of the year last season.
Agree7
Disagree0
I know this rumours been around revert transfer window but what would people's thoughts be if we did actually sign sneijder? And where would play? I'm guessing on the left of an attacking three, which I think would work if we had someone with pace on the right ie robben. Wouldn't be my first choice or my last.
Agree0
Disagree0
When you have Mata, Kagawa and Rooney in the squad you don't need Sneijder as well. He won't be a target. Blind however I hope is a target and I hope that we get him as he would be a fantastic signing for his versatility and general quality.

Elroy, have something like Sneijder, van Persie and Robben as a front three? What about Mata, Rooney, Kagawa?

Not long before we see Ronaldo rumour then ;)

Am I the only one who would see him as a deeper lying midfielder? I mean he's at that stage in his career to convert there and reinvent himself like scholes did using his amazing passing ability to help him
Agree3

So you want to pay money and huge wages on a player to try to reinvent himself in a new position in the hardest and fastest league out there. wow

Never heard of him, is he any good?

New reports or the old reports?
Agree0

Jred, I am quite concerned with the interest we have in CB's. Some are too old and overpriced, some are injury prone. Garay for £10m doesn't seem so bad now.
Agree1

{Ed004's Note - Garay makes perfect sense to me IMO. I'd move for him tomorrow if I was in charge. He is very good on the ball, very good defensively and open to the move}
Isn't Garay off to Russia
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed002's Note - Zenit nearly signed Garay in early February and there were no recent offers that matched his asking price so Zenit have returned with a better terms for the player himself. Juventus would have liked to bid but does not have the funds to do it at this time. An approach was made to see if Real Madrid would be interested in taking him back as there is a very good chance they will lose Varane. But right now, Zenit looks to be where he will eventually end up - and you may just hear abot it this evening.}
Thought he had signed for bayern ed? Or was he just in discussions?
Agree0

{Ed002's Note - He didn't sign Tom.}
Is there still a chance for a utd move ed? Or are you still of the opinion utd have moved onwith their interest? Think I remember you saying utd knew what they needed to do to sign him but never did.

{Ed002's Note - It is what I said it is - why is that so difficult to understand?}
Saw today he was signing for Zenit I must admit I like him seems LVG doesn't

Think will will get one of Bruno Martins Indi or De Vril both would be nice

According to Portuguese paper a bola we've signed gaitan for cash plus bebe and a Dutch journalist is reporting buttner to dynamo Moscow.

Buettner leaving would be a good indication that we will 100% be signing a LB this summer. Obviously Shaw is the prime target, so the moment Buettner agrees a move away, then we have probably secured Shaw.
Agree1

Buttner off to Russia or somesuch place according to his agent, who also said we are in for Shaw still and Evra new contract
Agree1

Would prefer Blind for about £12 million or maybe shaw too as Blind can play in a variety of positions and allow us to offload Evra and his wages

{Ed002's Note - Juan Guillermo Cuadrado has been subject to the interest of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Juventus and his co-owners, Fiorentina & Udinese. Manchester United, Spurs and Liverpool have had the player watched. Juventus has confirmed that they will not be following up. Barcelona were looking to replace Dani Alves with Cuadrado but due to the delay in the sale of Alves have probably lost out to Fiorentina who are finalising the purchase of the rights held by Udinese. That will allow them full control over the future of the player. An auction between Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona would suit them, else they will keep him another season.}
Cheers ed

Can you update us on gaitan please, I have seen a few whispers there is a deal set in place?
Cheers in advance :)

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica about Gaitan in January 2013 but no bid was made as the asking price was seen to be far too high. Bayer Leverkusen, Spurs and Arsenal all enquired this past Summer but there interest will have waned by now.The interest was still there from Manchester United and PSG in January, but not at the price being asked. Recent interest has been again from Manchester United, and from both Zenit and Juventus. Jueventus can be discounted now. He might well sign a new contract at Benfica unless they are willing to drop the asking price. There has been no interest from Liverpool.}

We need a quicker winger than gatian, konoplyanka would be ideal, someone who can take on a player and skip by them. I know the transfer window hasn't opened yet but I have a feeling we will be further behind other teams. We need to get rid of the deadwood.

{Ed002's Note - It is astonishing the number of fans like you that have so little respect for some of the players of the club you support.}
Players like anderson nani and young I don't think deserve to represent manchester united ed, they in my opinion have stole a living during their time at the club and should be moved on. I'd like to see a young player like powell get a chance
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed002's Note - You need to get down to the ground and daub some abuse on the walls of Old Trafford about the "deadwood". Get in their with flags telling all the players to get out. Actually we will soon be opening an online store where you can by effigies of the Manchester United owners, management, players and prospective players. You can then make the pilgrimage to Old Trafford where there will be ritual burnings at half time. We will also be selling some very high-end voodoo dolls with a set of silver-plated pins thrown in for good measure.}
Cheers ed, if you could make the pins green and gold that would be brilliant.

Ed can you list the prices please and I'd like to pre order Nani, Cleverley and Carrick voodoo dolls. Every time Carrick gives the ball away he'll get a pin right in the jacksy.

Ed you said a while back that Robben would be allowed to leave Bayern. Has this stance changed do you? Couldn't see them sellin Robben, Schweinsteiger and Kroos in the same year.

{Ed002's Note - Robben has made it clear he has no interest in not playing in the Champions League.}
Okay, thanks ed. Looks like this £40 million bid will be a load of nonsense then.

United reportedly interested in Sami Khedira? I personally would love for him to sign with us.

Shocking, he is beyond slow and I have never understood the hype with him.

Excuse my ignorance on Khedira but what position would we be looking to fill with him. is he the deep playing 6 or box to box 8. Coming from real Madrid via bayern he must be decent but with the price quoted is he the best option in the position he would play?
Agree0
Disagree0
Khedira is shocking. He has had the odd good game for Real Madrid in a league where he gets time on the ball, but when he is put under pressure he panics and more often than not loses the ball. He will not cope in the Premier League.

Funny how most people on here wanted him last summer. Just because he's not a Vidal or pogba doesn't make him a bad midfielder.
