Twitter post: man utd have prepared a shock 25m bid for samir nasri so as to snatch him away from city..Ed do u believe it? {Ed007's Note - No. The deal with City is done, it is just the payment structure that is holding it up.}

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Ed how can you be so sure hes signed for City {Ed007's Note -I had a premonition and then my bookie told me.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Your dreaming my friend. Nasri isn't so good anyway
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he was no great shakes in todays game. certainly no better than what we have.

Rumours around Madrid, Utd about to bid for Benzema so that means Berbatov will go to Dortmond with Goteze coming to Old Trafford plus 18m, seems that will be the end of the spending for along time.

Believable6 Unbelievable27

Seems like a bit of a stretch but if this does happen it would be amazing for United.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye and messi wants to sign for norwich,stop man,just another sweeping statement,with no element of truth

super red

Agree0 Disagree0

It's the weekend and this youth has had too much to drink etc
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe that deal , whilst unlikely, would be an excellent one.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Benzema is on more money t than sjneider and very happy at madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe if Neymar goes to Madrid then there will be no more room for Benzema? Just a thought...

Mega Amazing Man

Agree0 Disagree0

I've never been impressed by Benzema.
Every time I've seen him he's been VERY average and I can't understand why any top club would want him.

I know that SAF is supposed to be a big fan but I think that must be a running joke around OT, like an ironic practical joke at the french lads expense.

In my opinion, he's no better than James McFadden.

Any thoughts on Diarra? Read in the papers today that spurs are close to signing him for 6m. Think he could of been a fantastic signing for that price. Could do with a strong DM

Believable17 Unbelievable5

Good player, nothing special, he would defo improve our team but he is just a complete P*%$K and comes with to much baggage.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yea and if we did go for him 10million would be added to the value.... just remembering last season with VDV, i think Real offered him to us for something like 15million then he ends up at Spurs for 8 million.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with u Herbie it's just so they can get back some of that 80m we got off them :)

Agree0 Disagree0

He would come to some use but I'm afraid it wouldn't last long enough.

Anybody else a bit gutted united didn't seem to press a nasri deal... Could of been good... Expierenced in league young cheaper than our possible deal for WS and could represent sell on value

Believable18 Unbelievable3

What and pay what City what are paying him? £175,000 a week which equates to £9 million a year in salary alone, plus City are paying him a £1 million 'relocation allowance' I got that information from Sky Sports News today so it is fairly reliable.
So yeah maybe Nasri did want to join Man Utd until he found out we wouldn't pay that as a salary. If he was that bothered he would have joined anyway, but it is obvious where his morals lie. Not much Fergie or United can do in that situation.

Rich

Agree0 Disagree0

I read it on sky it was 150-160k which I thought was a bit much alright but we were going to give that kind of money to WS who I know is a better player but when u consider nasri is 10m cheaper and could be sold on aswell... Clichy said it 2 yrs ago players who join city are there for one reason... No loyalty in football be interesting to see what Arsene was offered but decided to stay loyal to arsenal

Only a couple of weeks left until the transfer window slams shut and we seem no closer to a new signing.

This for me is for one of two reasons; A.) SAF has no intention of signing a new player as he has previously stated or B.) We could be heading for another Berbatov deal i.e deadline day signing. I personally hope it's option B whether it's a certain Dutchman, a wantaway Croatian or a German superstar in the making i'm not sure but hopefully it will be one of them.

At this moment and time Ed, what player, if any can you see ending up at Old Trafford before the close of the window?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I think were done in transfers, i also think were a bit short in midfield but d'ya know what... if utd got relegated 3 seasons in a row, I'd still worship them.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Herbie for once. No more transfers but I would chase Goetze had I the option. Big style.

Make or break negotiations taking place over the weekend regarding Sneijder. We should know more Sunday or Monday.
Mario Goertze is being lined up as a plan b option. Dortmond have already agreed to sell.

Believable13 Unbelievable11

How do you know all this?? are you Alex or Gill or Sneijder?? or are you just speculating mr no name.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

I think plan b is a much better singer than Mario Goertze

Agree0 Disagree0

Dortmund have already agreed to sell?
i really don't believe that..

Im not sure there singing ability is much of a factor

Dortmund and Gotze have made it clear that there will be no transfer for Mario this time. As for Sneijder, get real he isn't coming unless he asks for a transfer and Inter drop his price beneath £30 million.

I wish I could understand more on this Singapore thingy..... It seems to me like the Glazers are acting like dodgy dealers, juggling the finances about and why why why is the question..... Anyways its Friday so have a top weekend peeps.... HERBIE

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Depending on how the glazers enter the market it could help clear a massive amount of the debt or could only erase a very small amount. asian market is prob biggest market in world. from what i have read glazers are valueing united at overall 1.86billion. if this is true capital they can make from this by sellin 20 to 30% should be enough to take at least and up to 62% of our overall debt but as united has a sister an lead company owned by the glazers this will effect the evaulation of the overall value in the market to decrease due to it losses it anounced for last 2 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for that mate, I kinda get it but it just gives me an headache thinking about it :-) .... HERBIE {Ed007's Note - Don't worry Herbie, I am the same, takes me all my time keeping up with the Rangers Tax Case without trying to understand this stuff.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey no probs. tried to write it down best i could. give me a headache aswel should have chosen something easier at uni than world economy they are clever buggers tho cause puttin united on that market wil make it extreamly difficult for anyone to come an buy united as a whole because of the amount of money need to buy it would become astronomical. might aswell buy shuttle atlantis an send it back in to space a few times glorytounited

relax people.
we are not buying anyone..people keep repeating the words og Mr gill that we are planning a world class signing. but why people r forgeting that SAF handles team and concerned maters. and he has made it clear that player he wanted is not available to them for now..and he wil not buy for sake of buying remember his interview?? while rooney rift and others in past SAF has clearly stated that ' I AM THE ONLY MOST IMPORTANT PERSON AT UNITED THATS IT". so relax guys. enjoy new season with current squad wh is very good.
RODIO17

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Very good yes world class the centre of mid no cause for concern yes need some in there
irritating post

Agree0 Disagree0

No your not the only person to think that were finished in de transfer marketbut to say that we have a good world class squad is incorrect in my opinionwe need strenght and dept in cm to compete not only in PL and against the very best in europewe aint goin to the PL or CL with unproven and inexperienced tom cleverly or pogbalets b honest Carrick isnt great,fletcher is sick,and anderson is very inconsistantAnd giggsy is superstar on his last legsOur midfield is very very week my friend and dats why everyone is on raising there thoughts on the Team,whom are struggling IMO to prepare to defend the crownIts the one place in cm where we were ment to strenghten,and nothings been done and maybe wont be,and thats what worries me.

super red

Agree0 Disagree0

A simple thaught how many of them have class wingers? like we have? how many have no2 defence this solid?
this has been our patern of play. every team has theirs.. they like playing center attak and we from wings.. crosses and cutting ins.. mids just hold back to rotate passes to wings and if a chance come straight to sST. more they cover to defence..dnt count carrik here. he is rubbish.i am talking about rest.

I dont see why we dont try to get Bastian Shweinsteiger still a great player and his family are known to be Red Devil fans plus would be so much cheaper than Sneijder and the wages would be cheaper for us, and his set pieces are quality aswell to offer another option rather than just Young on the long free-kicks

ForeverRed

Believable12 Unbelievable6

He would if anything be more than Sneijder as he is younger, wont want to move with the same willingness as Sneijder and plays for a club that are in no need of money unlike Inter. However I agree that he would be the best player we could get for our team at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

He played this week with Bayern, that means not awailable for champion's league this year. He'll never play for another team than Bayern

Agree0 Disagree0

No money.

Seen the stock market and the debts?

Agree0 Disagree0

And unless you have a mad oil rich arab or a crooked oil rich russian as an owner who does have money?

its a recession. i work for a major uk firm, we have profit of xx millions but because our european partners are struggling we are making cutbacks so we can still run at a profit and use that to support them.

the times are hard which is why people are thinking hard about going to games, because the tickets cost so bloody much.

Onto Schweiny, Bayern are one of the richest and best well ran clubs in europe. Inter aren't. Inter need money, Bayern don't. They told Real to bog off a couple years ago over both Schweiny and Ribery.

Agree0 Disagree0

Schweinsteiger,fantastic footballer,wud love to c it happenbut sadly as the others said,we aint got the gold for him,he would b much use in CL coz he b cup tiedSneijder is better option,but with only 12 days to go without him handing in a transfer request,i doubt itl happen

super red

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be by far the best possible addition to our midfield squad, both solid and full of footballing quality. But he WILL NOT move from Germany this season, Unfortunately for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Schwienstiger played Champions Leage during the week with Bayern so he's going no where now.

Anyone else think we may well make a berbatov-esque signing this summer? Would love to see a breaking news £30 million Sneijder to united flash up on SSN at 11.59

Fergie is not in a hurry, we WILL sign a CM, main candidates are Sneijder and Gotze but who knows?

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Why the hell would gotze be "one of the main targets"...dude what the hell there's barely been any talk about him and united, even that was just bulls**t rumours, not to mention he said it himself that he's not ready to move on from borrusia yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is one of the youngest/best creative midfielders in the world and there is lots of speculation in Germany that we have made contact with Dortmund.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2011 15:29:52
Why do most people felel that united is entitled to every good player? And that anybody who does not want to come is money hungry.
Maybe some players do no want to join because they like other clubs
Ferguson said earlier in the window that Nasri had agreed to go somewhere else, does that not mean that united tried and failed? So how do you guys come up with the farce that arsenal won't sell.
Always making excuses when the player clearly rejected the club, no matter the reason why.
The sense of entitlement is incredible and will be your downfall , even real Madrid have been turned down by players

Believable8 Unbelievable13

Good point. I have also made the same observation on this page.

Agree0 Disagree0

Most players that do go to city is because of the enormous wage they will recieve, before they got taken over by a billionaire hardly any big name players wanted to go there, so what was the attraction other than money.

P.S. Ive never called modric money hungry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a bit quiet on the s****y page of this site ...whats up go no transfers to speculate about after filling your 25 man squad with mercenaries...only a handfull of your squad will want to fight and win for your team when it comes down to it. We are not entitled to every player we just want players that want to play for us and not content to sit in the stand and count there sheckles

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said last poster. I do understand that many players would rather join other teams like Real/Barca because Spain has great culture + weather + the taxes are less + there great teams too BUT its clear that Man Shi##y's offers of huge wages are attracting players to the club that would not have gone there otherwise. Would Tevez have gone to a team without Champs Lge footbal if he wasnt on £20ok-£250k per week? Would YoYo Toure have chosen the murky autumn nights of Manchester without Champs Lge football were he not on a similarly redicilous wage? But dont worry Reds, their business plan, if you can call it that,it far from sustainable...Red Devils will still rule years from now

Agree0 Disagree0

This is almost amusing, and United aren't even nearly as bad as say, Real Madrid or Barca for example. Look how madrid acted over a game the other night, how Barca acted in the fabergas saga and that's only recently. They litterally bully the spanish league also in a number of ways. They are this big because they expect to be this big. This the modern day game - and i say game loosely. It's business really. The day United sit idly by and play second fiddle because of the theory of ''maybe we aren't as good as we think'' will be their downfall not if they stop. Do you believe that arrogance and dogged self belief have nothing to do with Alex Ferguson's success? This has clealy worked for 20 years and you think it'll be the downfall ? really ? If united continue to act like this they'll fall away ? In the real world, what will change the capitalistic structure of the major european leagues is the introduction of perhaps an NFL system. The best Players are allocated by the league on a weakest team basis and so on. Until that far off day we're stuck with this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep telling yourselves players only go for the money but the fact is yaya and tevez have fa cup medals and champions league games to play this season the money helps but joining city now also means you have as good a chance of winning silverware as anywhere else so just deal with it cos deep down you know it's trueo

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2011 14:43:07
Now that sneijder wants to lower his wages why isnt he handing in a transfer request to inter. Any one knows?

Believable11 Unbelievable7

I believed at the start about all this nonsense about sneijder being willing to drop his wages, thinking about it now I was pretty naive. what facts are there that WS has said that he has agreed to lower his wages?

It's all just made up stories from the press trying to fuel speculation and to get a response out of either club hoping they have 'guessed' right

This transfer window is doing my head in haha. One minute im convinced we are going to get that big marquee signing such as WS, then i go the opposite direction and dont believe anything is happening....spose thats the joys of being a football fan in suspense.....

wish i was a bear and could just go into hibernation until all this blows over, wake up out of hibernation, and shabam......theres auld wesleys cheesey grin staring at me on the back page of the sun in a man utd top

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Id love dat,but with only 12 days to go i cant c us bringing in WS,or anyone for that matter,unless utd and inter are playing out for the best deal they can getand we can also forget about the rumour that inter need the cash for tevez,coz they cud hardly get that sorted in time.either nothings happening or alot we dnt know is happeningmy heads wrecked,i rekon we'l struggle wit wat we have this season.i think v spurs on monday could b the eye opener

super red

Agree0 Disagree0

Who no's what sneijder wants or if united are intrested but inter do need to trim the wage bill , they paid out more in wages than what they made last year and are really going to struggle when the uefa fair play comes in
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

My understanding is that if inter sell sneijder or any player for that matter who doesnt necessarily want to leave they have to pay out the remainder of their contract. if however, a player makes a transfer request this bypasses the contract payout isssue and so would be better for the club financially. i would like any ed's or anyone else to confirm this for me though.

Scholesy's Ballsack {Ed007's Note - It is the same at many clubs, it is in the players contract, if the player does not ask for a transfer there is a 'loyalty' bonus to be paid.}

a few papers in england and france running with a story that nasri wanted united move but united never made a move for him.
anyone really no whats going on at united.
jred

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Its blatantly obvious that nobody knows what is going on behind closed doors at man utd, unless u are lucky enough to spot someone when that wasnt intending on being spotted on etc......

it all boils down to luck and guesswork imo......

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont even think people in the so called know , know whats going on at OT.... if they did, a proper midfielder would have been signed by now.... its a joke that we have not addressed this issue now for the past 3 years.
The positive news however is that Blackburn are on the verge of signing Gibson for £6m, thats us paying them to take him off our hands of course :)

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wanted the united move he would of played out the last year of his contract and got his move to united.

Agree0 Disagree0

He could of wound his contract down and come to united,
or barce or madrid both would of had with no transfer fee,
or he could off then even gone to city , how much would they of paid him in wages with no transfer fee.
the smart thing to do would be to run his contract down but he never so why not.
the only reason i can think is he wanted to win silverware and city were is only or best option to do it this season.

Hi Guys, Has anyone heard any more on the proposed deal to buy the young Brazilian lad called Dodo? Thanks

The thing I'm struugling with over the Nasri situation is why Arsenal wont deal with us yet will with one of their own rivals for a top 4 spot. How does that make sense?

The guy clearly wanted us, we wanted him but Apses wouldn't even talk to us so we never even got near bidding for him.

Think they have lost the plot over this one

Personally I'm sure something is in the offing and I'm guessing will be done before 28th August-Inters first Serie A match.

Believable12 Unbelievable1

I have a feeling we were interested in nasri because he was cheap and available but when we knew wesley sneijder actually wants the move to old trafford i think our interest in nasri has calmed.. I mean i'm thinking £20 mil for nasri? thats so cheap, everyone knows that's a good buy so why wouldn't fergie bid? we all know we need a top draw midfielder.. maybe nasri isn't experienced enough for our young squad?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri has been hinting around we wants to join united but obviously can't say that especially since city are involved... I don't know why united have not bothered trying to sign him or maybe they are doing on the quiet... Rediculous arsenal won't sell to one top 4 side but will to another... Arsenal needs a deal done now not later so they can buy in replacements... {Ed007's Note - The deal with City is 99% done, the hold up is Arsenal haggling over the set up of the way the transfer fee is paid.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20million pounds for a player with one year left on his contract doesn't seem cheap to me

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we have ever wanted Nasri? He is essentially a winger, the one position we don't need need any more of

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger won't sell to United but to sh**y is beyond me. I think the fear is united will keep winning and wenger hates us that bad to give the noisy neighbors a 'upper hand'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Orrrr, probably the more likely explanation is that city will giver arsenal more money for him?

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were interested in nasri and nasri wanted us " badly " do you not think he would have ran down his contract and moved to who he wanted Personally i dont think we were ever seriously interested in him

CRAIGY

Agree0 Disagree0

'Nasri is in the squad tomorrow and is available to be picked,' said Wenger.

Could drag on a little more if he plays... Even longer if he picks up an injury..

We could all be in for a very busy last couple of days come the end of the month.

OxfordRed

Agree0 Disagree0

@sanshine

if sh**y is offering more at 20-22m and we were offering 25m I think that it was united who offered more money. However, I do think that wenger is spiting us because he wants to minimize us winning again? Maybe if the noisy neighbors win he would be satisfied?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would weput a bid in for Nasri when we already have Young, Giggs and Park in
the same position.

Hi Ed,

don't know if business is conducted this way anymorebut could Utd possibly have
a word with Redknapp and Levy, over
signing Modric on Monday night?

Gareth. {Ed002's Note - Or they could make a bid today.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Ed are you suggesting we will make a bid for modric today? {Ed002's Note - No, I am saying that rather than wait until Monday and trying to catch Redknapp for an informal chat in the wash room, if they have any interest the way to declare it is a fax with a big number on it.}

Super Red {Ed002's Note - It means it has gone quiet - there are no secret messages.}

Believable2 Unbelievable4

It's either gone quiet and were not looking or Fergie really is that good and nobody knows like he has done with other players before... The fans know a good cm wouldn't hurt, gill said they were looking for a player for this position but maybe players we want are just not willing to talk or except our contract

Ed what is happening to nasri's deal,has he slowed it down becoz of united?is it possible to make a late bid for him or has united already did so?man thats a great player to purchase,any encouraging news about united on nasri's transfer delay? {Ed002's Note - I expect he will complete his move to Manchester City fairly soon. I am not sure why supporters see a need to rush these things. I very much doubt he will be moving to United.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Supporters see a need to rush, since the
club is being out muscled in the transfer market, again

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri is included in the Arsenal squad for the weekend game so nothing will be done till next week

19 Aug 2011 00:14:40
Sir, I fall to my knees hoping that
you will look to a cheaper option, to
a player that wants to join United.
He is willing to wait but why not
please United fans, myself and you
your highness and buy NASRI. In the
Sun newspaper the player expresses
his wishes.
And dont tell me what is the sun
newspaper. Thats not a reliable
source. Well why dont you make a
bid or speak to the players agent?
Make my day so I can get up and
watch United (Sun Aug 18 2011). {Ed007's Note - You ok there mate?}

Believable7 Unbelievable7

First off, I hope the hangover is not too bad .............. as for Nasri, the choice is his, he can sit tight for a season and come to Utd for free if Arsenal won't accept the £22m bid we tabled in June, (maybe Fergie will go up to £25m) or he can join the mercenary army at Wastelands. My inkling is that he will be wearing a nice blue shirt covered by a big warm tracksuit sat next to Milner, Barry, Johnson etc on the bench, taking calls from his bank manager on how to invest his millions. Sadly he could be yet another player whose greed will overtake his playing time, look at Given, Bridge, Boateng, Santa Cruz etc

When you get back on the planet I suggest you read old posts etc. Arsenal wont deal with us. We tried they wont. End of

Ed002 i do apologise but Ed007 should definitly let it out in the public domain.... it may be why he feels the need to masquarade behind this "Ed007" nonsense... cant be doing him any good living in the digital shadows...he should just whack his dress on and go for a big mac {Ed007's Note - My past is much more colourful than that, but not quite as 'chavvy'. As for my dressing habits, I dress 100% male, you should see Ed001s outfit for watching LFC though. He even has an old iron on LFC badge on his (red) basque that 022 (Arsenal Ed) left over at our summer jamboree. I am still coming to terms with the cross dressing habits of all the 'southern softy' Eds, and the only time I have ever worn a kilt was at my wedding, I will never wear one again either (I bent over and my mammy saw my hold ups!!!}
