@United missed out on Benzema, Villa & we unofficially lost out to Ozil, David Silva was never on the cards and neither was Di Maria. Let me also tell you that its Gill that meets these players, although Fergie did meet with Ozil personally in the Fulham tunnel.

Don't worry fella, we never miss out on targets to other English clubs, we miss out on players that want the Spanish weather.

you call yourself a man utd fan yet you doubt alex! you shoul never doubt him we wouldn't be where we are today without him also alex was never intrested in ozil he went to go watch him play but that was to force madrid to buy him and we could buy bebe coz madrid wanted him aswell ill always support alex forever

@Its not that i want Stekelenburg its just that i believe he is favourite to sign for United, he ticks every box and he is very experienced and he could be very cheap.

Neuer will sign for Bayern, i am 95% sure of that mate. De Gea has no experience and i think Akinfeev may cost a pretty penny.

Barcelona, real madrid, inter milan and manchester cityare considering to offer huge sums of money to manchester untied for wayne rooney some of these bids could go up to £100 million. will he stay or go.

inter don't have that much money said he won't go to city so unless real give us ronaldo or barca give us messi :P

Ed u probably won't believe this but anyway
i have heard this rumour several times now about ozil and ronaldo them 2 don't seem to get along and it looks likely 1 will leave but the fans seem to like ozil more than ronaldo and mourinho also seems to prefer ozil
so ed do you think by this times next year ronaldo could be back at man utd?

Certainly United have shown an interest in the player, and Chelsea and Arsenal have had him watched, but Inter Milan and Juventus may just push for a January move.}.

@You could well be right, but its hard to see any other real talents out there who are valued at between 15-20m, would help our Chilean marketing campaign, someone who's young (21) and loves United so much.

Ed apart from the Chilean part do you see anyone else out there who fits the bill?

I understand fergie has identified 3 positions. Keeper, left mid and striker as key in summer. Keeper not sure of but bale and Torres are 2 he has an eye on. He feels in pogba keane and morrison he has potential in midfield. Take it how you want to

@Look mate, these signings are never going to happen, so forget about them. Also a striker would not be on Fergie's mind, even a left winger is not on his mind imo as Nani will continue to play there with Valencia on the other side, we have plenty of wingers and strikers. I think he wanted a central midfield play maker, but that's before Anderson's impressive displays, he may now opt to forget that idea and keep the faith in Anderson. He wants an Hargreaves replacement, that is certain, but Carrick has suddenly found some form and we have Pogba in the academy albeit 1-2 years away from finished article.

I also believed Sanchez would come in but we already have a similar player in our ranks, young Morrison can play anywhere in attack and is very similar to Sanchez so i am wondering if Sanchez is even worth bidding for now.

What i will say is another keeper will be coming in, whether its to replace VDS or Kuszczak. I expect a midfielder to come in, i have a funny feeling we will pounce for Rodwell again, Everton are broke and know he will leave sooner or later, Moyes could really do with the funds too. Like i have said i have no inside information at all at United but i am realistic, United will not sign players like Bale & Torres but i believe we will sign players like Stekelenburg, Rodwell & perhaps a marquee signing like Sanchez, who knows?

What do you think will happen in the next two windows Ed? United are due a marquee signing and they will have to think about making a statement this year, especially for the season ticket holders.

Whats your true thoughts on United targets in the next couple of windows Ed?

@Editor, there is about three separate papers saying that Tevez's 'people' have met with United officials trying to go back to United, Fergie told him to forget it.

Does Tevez know something we don't? Is there a reason why Fergie said he will manage for five more years? What made Rooney change his mind and sign a new contract? Where did the Glazers get the 225m to pay the PIKs? Why are Chelsea players so downbeat at the moment? Do they know something about United?

Its all speculation and the site should be busy tomorrow now.

@They have already confirmed they will buy a Premiership club but links were made to Everton & Newcastle, not United, buying United for 1.5bn is a bit of a 'change of heart' isn't it Ed?

Going from 50m to spending 1.5bn is a massive hike. I am with you Ed, i do not believe its United they want, i believe Newcastle will be the club that they buy. But if they ever wanted to buy United then it would have to be before this summer if they wanted Alex to spend.

I am torn Ed, 504.6m in debt of debt free but risked being ruined by buying everyone. I would hate United to do a City or Chelsea but i would want to be out of debt. What i would like is for them to buy United, get us debt free, leave Fergie alone like the Glazers have and only spend what we earn. Obviously we will have to use our cash reserves this year but in the future i would want to only spend what we make.

I doubt this story has any truth in it, no other paper has printed this story.
