Believable4 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - Right now Zenit are on the up and are not looking to sell.}

Goodbye Mr A - The Hoosiers

Goodbye David Moyes, you promised you would help us but you defended too much

Goodbye David Moyes, you had none of the answers and no special touch

Eds, how likely is Sanchez and are there any updates on him? The only winger that you have said is possible so far is Robben but Sanchez is seemingly available too. I would be gutted if we let him go to Liverpool or anywhere else in the EPL.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - There has been some interest from Juventus and Arsenal. Barcelona will be willing to let Sanchez move on and would be open to using him in a player exchange deal.}

We should be bidding in the region of £20 million for Sanchez, and seeing what happens!

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think that they would accept a poor offer like that, I imagine somewhere in the upper 20's / low 30's is what would be required.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was reading in some dep Ort Ivo thing (Spanish press) that fabregas Sanchez and pedro were made available anyone know how reliable it is. I'd take all three but can't see that happening but would a double bid for Sanchez and fabregas and Sanchez of around €70mill not test them.

Agree1 Disagree0

Reading that Scousers are in for him too

Hey eds/all,
Hope all are good just a quick question and apologies if I have asked already but I just genuinely can't remember, are united still interested in William carvalho or was the interest dropped by van gaal?also is Memphis depay a target?thanks

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - The interest remains right now but that could change with the new manager. Monaco should not be discounted.}

Ed02, a lot of media sources saying the Carvalho deal has been put on hold. That has been ever since the Moyes sacking. Maybe LvG has other preferences?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Perhaps he does.}

According to Duncan Castles MU are favourites to sign Sagna. He must have a good source in France as he was spot on with Pogba and Evra.

Believable13 Unbelievable24

In all honesty it would not surprise me at all. LVG will want an immediate fix as well as bringing through some youth. He has said in interviews as well that the age of a player does not concern him. For this reason I think that he will have no hesitation in bringing in some world class players regardless of age - Sagna and Robben are probably on his list. Both would probably be around for three years by which time Rafael will hopefully of improved and Janko will be around. Also Januzaj will be a world beater.

Agree2 Disagree0

Or in 3 years time we will need a new manager after lvg has done his 2/3 year stint and another rebuild.
Will raf sit on the bench at 24 years old, I would of thought he would want first team footy.
Cole for lb?
Could lvg talk puyol into it?

Everyone to the own but teams that have gone down the route of buying established 30 + year old players don't develop there youth as the route to the first team is blocked by in this case 31 year olds on 100k a week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rafael could leave according to the editor, so could it be Sagna with Varela as back-up? Varela rotating with Sagna for a couple of years could make sense.

Don't get me wrong, I am not all for bringing in 31 year old players. He is free, but would want £100k a week and a signing on fee. Would he play ahead of Zab?

Perhaps MU will be a better option for him and it does seem MU are talking with him and his agent.

Agree0 Disagree1

Jred, I cannot understand your objections. Would you not have bought RVP then because he was getting on? Every squad needs experience, the experience in the starting line up would be RVP, Robben and Sagna, all of whom are thirty. The rest of the squad is filled with teenagers like Shaw and Januzaj or players in the peak years like Mata. It is about balance.

Agree2 Disagree1

We also need to give young Janko time to step up. I think either Janko or Varela will make it and if Rafael is leaving, then Sagna makes even more sense. I can't think of many better right backs that we could buy, can you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
Your quite right he wouldn't be good enough to get in to the city first team, so he will be fine for the united first team.
I would rather have cole at lb, honestly

Agree0 Disagree1

He should only be allowed to sign if he gets a haircut. Lol

Agree0 Disagree1

Cole is over two years older than Sagna.

Not sure I'd go for Sagna, but it seems we are interested.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd rather stick with rafa, he had a poor season last year but who didnt? Season before he was fantastic. Buy shaw for LB and hopefully have two fullbacks for the next 7/8 years.

Agree2 Disagree0

Fresh
Hes not that good he wasnt that good when he was 21 never mind 31.
there are a lot of good players out there, we have a lot of money why buy sagna?
If sagna played for us people would want him replaced just like evra.

Its not hard we should be building a team for the future not a team for tomorrow .

For some reason some people seem to think that every single player we are linked to is EXACTLY what we need

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I agree 100% and Sagna is not what we need. We need to address other areas of the pitch more than a rb. I would rather but a young rb like Arias than go for Sagna}

Do we genuinely hold an interest in Sagna or is the Sagna camp using MU to get their client a more lucrative City contract? Many of us are hoping for the latter, but nonetheless we do still have an issue at RB. Rafael is unreliable 75% of the time and injured for 50% of the season. RB is a position we need to sort out. Cannot deal with another season of Jones and Smalling at RB.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Sagna would be a great option as I have posted before. He would see more game time with us rather than playing at City.
As for getting someone young in, we would still have Rafael for that, along with Varela.
What would be the point exactly in bringing in a third young RB?

Agree1 Disagree0

Jred, personally I don't think every name out there is ideal, e.g. Draxler. Sagna would do a job for a season or two along with Rafael until the promising Janko is ready. And Shappy, his hair is still better than Fellaini's ;)

Agree0 Disagree1

Sagna is not what we need at all hope this is crap and city go all out on wages for him lol

Man United chief executive Ed Woodward is set to meet representatives of La Liga side Barcelona on Monday to discuss a deal for fabregas and will hope that an offer of £40m will be accepted

Just what I've heard I don't see it happening just thought I'd share the info

Believable6 Unbelievable34

Great move if true, he is certainly more accessible this year, a lot of players are going to leave Barca and Fabregas will likely be one of them. I would love him to be here.

Couldn't agree more fresh. As I said do believe this is just a rumour but would be exactly what we need, hopefully today is the day we name a manager and they shed some light on transfer deals

Agree0 Disagree0

Could it not be the 34 year old xavi .
He would be a great mentor for cleverly

Agree0 Disagree1

Is Fabregas the right kind of midfielder though?
I know he's brilliant, but from what I've seen he hasn't played as a central midfielder in years, but plays a more attacking role, where we already have Mata et al.

If he can play as part of a central pair though he'd be great.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good jred ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

40 mil seems a lot for a player barca don't even want just saying

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love this to happen, and I understand that he hasn't developed into a key Barce player like he would have wanted, but I can't help but think that the lad who bleeds Barce wouldn't want to leave when they are unable to replace him, and the person who he was bought to replace is retiring/moving on. I understand that he has played in a more attacking role but is this not his chance to cement his role at the club that he loves?

Happy as Larry if he comes in, but I can't help but think it's unlikely but I'm probably attributing more loyalty to the modern day footballer than they deserve.

I'm aware that I'm being lazy and not checking myself, but does anyone know how the Barce transfer ban works? Is it merely a financial thing? I.e Could they swap players on a loophole, I can't help but think that Rooney might end up going this summer.
