I've heard that Martin Ferguson has told United to buy Armindo Bangna Bruma (a 16 y/ o at Sporting).

Spurs and Chelsea both been chasing him since last year. I imagine that United's link with Mendes may help a possible deal.

Ed, you heard anything? {Ed001's Note - I have only heard of him being connected with Chelsea, not heard of a United link sorry.}

About De Gea, that is exactly what I am hearing too, mate!

Haven't heard anything, in a while, on the Rodwell front.

What I am hearing about Sneijder though, seems to be interesting.

@ Yea from what I've been told about Rodwell is it was pretty much a "done deal" last summer for this summer. So when I say nearly there it should really be done but it seems we have been tracking him for years so I don't really know what to believe but I'm 100% sure Rodwell and De Gea will be United players next season bar any late massive bid from someone else. I have heard nothing about Sneijder but I don't really know anyone who would know anything about that deal if there is one. I know we were/ are interested and made a bid last summer but that's it.

"I'm told the reason De Gea's agent has told the media about United's interest in his client is because he is trying to get Atelico to agree the price and get the deal sorted before the transfer window opens. He knows there is only a few clubs that could afford his client and he doesn't see City, Arsenal and Barca forking out 15-20 million pounds although you never know with City. From what I've been told the fee is the only thing standing in the way of De Gea coming to United, personal terms and agent fee's will not be a problem. Also nearly forgot to mention Rodwell is nearly there this is from someone I trust too.

"Mpez, please tell me all you know abou Sneijder please. Thanks"

Ok.

All that I have been told is that:

All that has to be done for David De Gea is the Fee between the Two clubs. All else is sorted. So, therefore, it's no Big Problem.

Wesley Sneijder - I have been Told that a Fee has been agreed with Inter Milan for set Player.

@Rodwell at £15m-£18m would be a good deal, he will be a great player in the future. Lets not forget he is just 19 years old. He is one very much for the future but he will still play often and would replace Carrick full-time in a couple seasons (2012-13). Buy him for £15m-£20m now or regret not buying him when he is worth £40m+ in a couple of years time.

Some don't want this deal to happen and that is their opinion, but it does look like he will be a United player next season. He favours a move to United and SAF is a big fan of him, has been since Rodwell was 16. Moyes is resigned to losing him in the summer and we were very close to snapping him up in January. It is very likely this deal will happen this summer.

Although I know Rodwell is hyped to hell and back, my personal reasoning for NOT wanting us to buy this kid is as follows. .

This season, our midfield has been vile. Those fans who don't accept everything the OT hype-machine tells us to believe know this; every pundit on TV knows this; opposition players and managers knows this and opposition fans know this.

With Hargo and Scholes likely to be leaving this summer, that leaves our midfield in an even more atrocious state. Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher and Gibson being our only first-teamers.

If SAF feels that the solution is to spend £20m on a young kid who is scarily injury-prone for his age and has struggled to maintian a spot in a struggling Everton team. . . then we are up Paddle Creek, in desperate need of a number two.

Rodwell would likely play 50% of our games next season MAXIMUM; for the remainder, we would be having the exact same negative discussions that have been so common this season - that being, the sheer state of our CM (Carrick, Gibbo, Fletch and Ando who cannot seem to stay fit for very long either).

For the amount SAF would spend on Rodwell, we could add say an extra £5m or so and buy TWO central midfeidlers with a) experience, b) a full bill of health and c) lacking the ridiculous amount of hype and pressure that our tabloids would no doubt heap upon Rodwell if he was signed as our 'midfield saviour'. It would, IMO, be a case of Walcott Verson 2.0.

Most of you will know i'm not usually one to make comments like this, but;

I'm hearing two things:

1. David De Gea is done, all sorted. Just a few bumps in the Fee betwee the two clubs.

2. Oddly, I'm hearing a Fee has been agreed for Wesley Sneijder between Manchester United and Inter Milan, around the £32m mark. If so, GREAT!

What I DO KNOW is that Manchester United WILL make a 'Marquee' signing this Summer as a 'Replacement' for Paul Scholes. Brilliant news!

Ed, you heard anything new on tge Sneijder front?

MPez {Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything firm but am aware of rumours. I certainly would not be surprised.}

For Mavis!

Glad we are starting to agree!

If Rodwell signs then we are replacing Hargeaves in a like for like swap, literally, Hargeaves will step off the injury table and Rodwell will jump on!

I agree, De Gea looks like being the real deal, however I would still love to see Buffon come instead. Saw today (?) that he is available on a free at end of season? Ed please confirm this is true, if so surely he is the better option both financially and experience wise?

I think the Coentrao bid is possible as he will add options in attack for the next season or 2 until Evra goes, at which point he will battle it our with Fabio for LB position. Personally, I love the twins, but at the back of my mind, they are both injury prone, and Rafael in particular is also prone to the odd red card! That leads me on to the Ramos bid. . .Currently our best option for RB is Rafael, and if the players i mentioned in first post ARE sold, then we would need someone like Ramos who can offer both RB and CB, that's why i suggested him. Who else could play in both roles and is available? Thoughts anyone? Ed?

So GK is sorted, defence in my mind needs a tweak, as above preferably, that leaves midfield and possibly attack. .

Attack wise, i still believe Klose is someone we should go for, especially as he is on a free. . another Larson potentially? If Berba goes, then it has to be Benzema, but i can't see Jose releasing him tbh. I actually don't know who SAF could/ should go for if Berba goes. . thoughts again please?

So midfield! In my mind it HAS to be Sneijder 100%! The lad is just pure class, loves the ball, picks the pass, delivers week in week out. Would allow Scholes to then go play for Oldham for a year. Chuck in De Rossi as well as our replacement for Keane and we then have an awesome team!

Buffon/ De Gea
Ramos/ Rafael Smalling/ Ramos Vidic/ Evans Evra/ Fabio
De Rossi/ Fletcher/ Carrick (Pick one)
Sneijder/ Anderson/ Giggs/ Fletcher/ Scholes/ Pogba/ Cleverly (pick any 2)
Toni/ Park/ Wellbeck Rooney/ Chi Chi/ Berba Nani/ Coentrao/ Morrison

Not bad hey?!

Oh and Mavis! Soz about the codpiece comment! I love calling people that though, makes people stop and think HAHA! Oh AOC is struggling to get Southampton in to the Championship. . my man Taarabt is single handedly getting QPR into the Prem. . he is just a raw talent, and will need little training, more so he is likely to need guidance to keep his feet on the ground. .AOC to much of a rough diamond for my liking. Let the gunners take him and turn him into anothe Walcott. .

"I think the only way to be proved right or wrong is to buy rodwell. I do think he's over priced but that's the problem with english talent. I also worry about the amount of little injuries he picks up. But carrick will be gone inside of two years. Possibly anderson as well. SSB"

"Well, from what I am led to understand David knows and understands just how interested Manchester United are and is already excited about the Possibility of joining such a club.

I don't know where you got that from 'REDFAITH'. The lad knows just how good he could be and aspires to replace Iker as the Spanish Number 1 and knows by joining the club who currently have the keeper, who he claims, he bases his playing style on at. And knows Manchester United and a manager like Sir Alex Ferguson can help and guide him towards his objectives in his career.

MPez"

I have a friend one of whose old colleague has taken up a job at Athletico and this was what he heard. If you have been reading i also posted that he claimed a meeting took place between representatives of an English club and De Gea's agent and athletico a few months back. And this was what he told my friend then that De Gea did not want to join unless he was fully sure that he would be able to handle the pressure and that he would be able to develop the right way at United.

This was what i was told "before" SAF went to watch De Gea. Its common knowledge that SAF is able to turn players' heads, especially young players after a meeting and convince them about signing for United, and that could have happened.

After all this De Gea has been apparently on the lookout for a house in Manchester, Steele has started taking spanish lessons, and De Gea's agent has confirmed talks "did" take place so my only "source" has been proved right it seems. I have never met the guy, but i will keep posting whatever my friend updates me with.

Also, my boss was recently at a party with Gary Cahill's dad, or so he claims anyway and apparently Cahill's dad was bragging about his son moving to a top English club. Now obviously my boss thought it was Arsenal or Liverpool, but Cahill's dad smiled and said "you will be really surprised".

"Through a friends uncle who works at old trafford in admin the wispers going through the office are that the big signing will be gareth bale from spurs.ive also been told saf is workng on signing josef illic, defour, rodwell, and cavani."

If you want to post stuff, atleast make it believable. Ilicic and Bale are left-footed wingers. Rodwell and Defour play the same position. Why would we go for them?
