manutd should focus on Nasri to keep the midfield strong

Believable15 Unbelievable4

01 Jul 2011 20:43:39
Nasri will choose city over united (because of wages city offering) so Ferguson will turn to Joau Moutinho

Believable5 Unbelievable11

And where is he going to play for City?
not in the CM which is where he will play for the mighty reds so I think you are wrong and if he leaves he will join Utd
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

If he leaves he will join united, or he will just run his contract down

Agree0 Disagree0

But he will never hold a trophy for the next 35 yrs or more..

Agree0 Disagree0

He's too young to be thinking about his pension just yet. I think whatever he decides this time it will be for footballing reasons. I think it will either be United or he will leave England next sumer. Ryan.

Just been on phone to my contact he said utd using nasri as a back up deal if they fail signing Sanchez next week the other signing will be Sneijder when he returns from holiday next week could it be the two medicals booked that your talking about. He said players leaving are Berbatov, Gibson, Oshea, Brown to help fund the transfers.

Believable18 Unbelievable21

Seriously i'd far rather have nasri over sneijder given the choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

If sneijder and sanches sign these could be the best signings SAF has ever made, and could guarantee EPL & CL for next season, this would be so amazing to see them both pull on the famous red shirt of Manchester

Agree0 Disagree0

I really wish I could believe this but I just don't see us buying these to players, Snejder's wages would stop us from buying him as Sanchez is way too expensive and will probably stay with Udinese, hope you're but just can't see it sorry

BONEYJOE69

Agree0 Disagree0

Please may i ask who this source is and excactly how reliable because i would love it to happen but why would SAF sign nasri/sanchez AND sneijder? I think that arsenal would only sell one of their key players(clichy would be fine because they have gibbs) so either fabregas to barca or nasri to united would happen-this means barca get sanchez and we get nasri, but if we don't get nasri then we'll have modric or sneijder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anybody have proof of 2 medicals booked for next week coz if not stop posting s***e. If yes post proof to Eds, people saying we will sign Sniejder, Modric, Nasri & Sanchez need to take a reality check they would probably cost over £100million on top of the £50 million we have already spent, we may have a few quid to spend but this aint fantasy football. {Ed007's Note - It is rumoured that Utd have 2 medicals booked, that is why it is on a rumours site, to ask for a rumour to be backed up makes it a fact, not a rumour}

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a wonderful fantasy but sadly just that. Ryan

any one else thinking that the 2 medicals(if true) set for bridgewater next week could be clichey to city and nasri to utd?

Believable31 Unbelievable22

I believe the person who provided the information on the 2 medicals (stephdoehler) via twitter adv the 2 bookings are not under any players names but were booked under Manchester United FC.

This means both medicals are for MUFC players or MUFC potential signings.

The medicals could be for existing players too - i.e 1 could be fletcher getting a checkup to confirm the all clear from the dodgy virus he had.

Personally like what another poster mentioned with rumours of Nasri and M'Villa being looked at i too really really really hope it they medicals are for them.

i don't know a single fan that would not be rather impressed and happy with these two signing.

MONK

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as id love this to be the case i cant really see Uited booking medicals unless a deal was done. They havent even bid for the players

Agree0 Disagree0

Please be true...... Please be true.... please be true..... Still sceptical abt this Nasri transfer actually happening but av got EVERYTHING Xsd hping it will. Cant see him leaving the arsenal but if he does cant believe he'd choose the berties over utd. Everything abt Nasri playin for us next season makes sense to me, just ticks all the boxes.

An anxious, Venomous Pit Ape

Agree0 Disagree0

We have 2 medicals booked next week, but that doesn't necessarily mean its for new players. It could be. But Manchester United have 2 booked.

Looks like Juventus are winning the race for Lass Diara and vidal

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Dont both play in the same position?
It will be one or the other, although id prefer Man Utd to get Vidal if they were indeed looking at these two players which i don't think they are.

Fergie believes in Fletcher

Agree0 Disagree0

What race? Who's in a race? Real keep telling people Diara's price trying to get bids. Do we want him? I dont think so.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man city going for Nasri? Not likely
The only reason this has been reported was most likely because Arsenal are wanting Manchester United to make a bid in the near future so they can spend some cash on players since the international transfer window is opening.

Jake

Believable31 Unbelievable15

The phrase 'in denial' comes to mind.

Martin

Agree0 Disagree0

No denial - why would a world class player wanna sign for unproven, lacking character or history, Man City - rich as they undeservedly are - the guy wants to sign for World Class team

Agree0 Disagree0

I fail to see why people get so upset about City bidding for players we're chasing. It's not like it's a secret that Nasri, Sanchez etc are good players. When quality established players become available, all the big clubs will chase them. It's not a case of anybody stealing anybody else's targets - it's just common sense. Nasri is one of Europe's top midfielders - of course City are interested. If they were trying to gazump moves like Hernandez, Bebe or Smalling, then we may have some grounds for complaint, but only just. To use an analogy - I don't know if anyone here has ever been whale watching. Loads of companies run boats from the same harbour. They all look for whales. They also look for the other companies' boats. If one of the other companies' boats suddenly changes tack - hey, they must have seen a whale... and all the other boats change tack too. Why shouldn't they? It saves them time and effort.

And I'm sure United do it too. Not whale watching. I mean checking what other teams' scouts are up to. We'd know if United went whale watching. Ferdinand would have tweeted it. And spelt whales wrong.

DarkLard08

Agree0 Disagree0

United will sign Luka Modric for 32.5 million and not Sneijder or Nasri like everyone is saying. We will also sign Juan Mata for 5million and Berbatov. Finally we will sign Sergio Aguerro for 28.3million to replace Berbatov. Looking forward to next season. By the way I have a very, very good source :)

Did I read that correctly about PSG bidding £13.5M for Adel Tarrabt? Seriously?

Rudderpost

Believable30 Unbelievable5

And this is a manchester united rumour why?

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess 'cos Taarabt so regularly links himself with us. Anyway, I'm sure he thinks he's worth much more than just £13.5M so I can't see that happening.

DarkLard08

It is down to the fact that PSG are owned by rich Qatari owners...

*****MASSIVE UNITED NEWS*****

With speculation over 2 players booked into Bridgwater hospital for medicals next week, very reliable sources have confirmed to me that they are BOTH midfield players and both French internationals.

Sami Nasri is the first and will sign for United in a deal worth over 23 million

the second

is France team mate Yann M'Vila from Rennes for 15.3 million

SAF knows he has to replace Scholes and Nasri was his first choice as soon as he became available.

M'Vila will add more power in the United Midfield as he is a holding Midfielder in the Hargreaves mould.

These will be the last United signings this summer.
Unbelievable week for United fans.

Believable33 Unbelievable21

Great combination for center midfield.
we get near to barca it we sign them both
i will give u billion dollars if this happens

Agree0 Disagree0

If your sources are as reliable as you say they are I would be more than happy with those 2 signings. Now all we have to do is get rid of some of the dead wood who clearly have no future in our midfield. Gibson & Carrick

Agree0 Disagree0

If it happens, it will be a massive strength in the midfield and we can certainly win the premiership title with the current squad we will be big

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to see this happen would be great for the club and they are both still young

Agree0 Disagree0

The Bitters also use the Bridgewater for their medicals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope it's true I would love to see Yann M'vila playing for us

Agree0 Disagree0

He signed a new contract at rennes he's not going anywhere this year

Agree0 Disagree0

M'vila said not to long ago hes staying put for at least another season so if your saying its a french midfiled international.. maybe it could be marvin martin? was in the ligue 1 team of the year. moussa sissoko? strong central midfielder with lots of potential or the more familiar yoann gourcuff..

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, people seem to be happy
With this combo, strange there is
Nothing negative being said. Personally
I would be delighted with these

Transfers done if these happen.

(First time poster)

Redrum182 {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site mate, we hope you enjoy it}

Agree0 Disagree0

M'vila said recently "forget Liverpool and Real Madrid, my ultimate goal is to play for Manchester United", signing new contracts doesn't mean much these days, a lot of the time it's to raise the players value, i'm not saying M'Vila will sign but sweet jebus him and Nasri would out do my expectations of the summer.

Nababs Son :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope your right m'villa is like keane and viera put together nasri is class but i cant see it happenning it would be deadly if it did u could bring on barca then

Ed, any word on United's interest in Jack Rodwell? I expected this to be one of the ongoing stories for the summer transfer period and yet it appears to have gone very dry.

When I think of Fergie's clear focus in signing young talent, he still seems to fit the bill. Have his injury issues put AF off?

MDJ {Ed007's Note - I never really wanted Utd to sign Rodwell but it does seem to have went very quiet regarding him so maybe the interest has cooled now}

Believable8 Unbelievable1

I reckon Tunnicliffe's FAyouth cup final performance in front of SAF had something to do with this

Agree0 Disagree0

NO thanks to rodwell we need quality brought in now , not gambling another 20mil to hope he develops into a great player in 2-3 yrs time. In which if he does become a great player im assuming SAF will be retiring then. SAF needs great players now to keep him ahead of PL pack and chase down and compete with barca to win us CL trophy. TORQS

Agree0 Disagree0

TORQS, I see your point and largely reciprocate it. Sadly, the idea of 'competing with Barca' isn;t wholly realistic at the moment. They have the best player in the world, arguably ever. They have a midfield capable of tearing any team in the world apart (they did it to us and Madrid last season) and worst yet, are for the most part a young and still developing group of players.
Personally I'd rather see 20 million spent on World Class potential than another 30 plus million spent on a World Class player who may flop (Veron and Berba come to mind immediately).
Having said that, I for one am unsure as to Rodwell's true potential and the extent to which it will ever be realised. I am more curious as to the reasons this has gone so quiet.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is no longer on the radar due to not progressing as well as everyone thought he would. Pogba looks a better prospect and Jones was preferred to Rodwell and has onviously already signed.

Man United will take their summer spending to £90mil by signing Gareth Bale for £40million

Believable10 Unbelievable43

Tbh i would prefer nasri over anyone else.
TRUMORS

No chance, there isn't a single club interested in the overrated Bale. If we had £40m to blow on a player then Bale would be bottom of the list.

Ed, can you please tell what's happening with sneijder, he was quite popular in the transfer market at the start with chealsea, city and us all wanting him but suddenly everything has gone quite for a while about him, do you think he'll leave Inter this summer? {Ed004's Note - I don't think so}

O953 BST: Chile winger Alexis Sanchez is not certain to leave Udinese for Barcelona, the Italian club have said. Manchester City and Chelsea are also thought to be monitoring the 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals last season.

This on on BBC, how can we not be in for this guy. Seriously? Fergie has been tracking him for years, we invited all the Chilean minors to OT as a obvious realtionship builder. surely we ought to chance our hand.. anyone agree?

Believable29 Unbelievable6

I agree he's a good player but we have Young, Nani, Park and Valencia, which is more than enough. Udinese are messing around and I just think United can't be bothered with it - he would cost a hell of a lot of money and there are no guarantees he would adapt to English football.

As for the Chilean miners, I really don't think United did that with a view to build relations with Alexis Sanchez.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am still not 100% assured that Sanchez would be able to wrestle the position from Toni. A player I expect to shine to an incredible degree next season. Just look at how sensational he was after returning from such a horrific injury.

Mind you, if Sanchez wants to pull on the famous red shirt, I certainly wouldn't be dissapointed.

city have distanced themselfs from any bid for arsenals nasri, however they have said they are in talks to sign clichy.
the whole modric saga and reports he is having a medical at utd is about as true as the whole of ireland becoming a tea total nation.

who ever sir alex puts a bid in for next will surely be a low cost affair as i cant see utd splashin big money deals after the quality we already have?

your thoughs ed?? {Ed004's Note - Utd do have the money and a lot of players have left so the wage bill has gone down}

Believable11 Unbelievable9

With the state of the economy in Ireland we have a good chance of siging Modric so.

Been in North London the last few days, so here's what I've heard. These aren't from ITK sources as such but, in some cases, the people do have access to good information.

Modric is at the centre of a battle within Spurs right now. Daniel Levy is trying to bring the wage bill down before allowing Harry to spend whilst Harry wants to be able to spend first. The likely outcome is that Spurs will bring in a couple of big names and then sell Modric for £30m - £40m towards the end of the window to finance the moves. Their biggest concern right now is cutting their wage bill (Bentley, Krancjar, Hutton, Keane and possibly Jenas and Defoe to go). Harry is on slightly thin ice right now - the club's financial position isn't great (unusual for one of Harry's teams, eh?) and, if things don't go well next season, he could get the bullet much more quickly than many imagine. If Modric does leave, Chelsea, Madrid, City et al will bid for him. He's previously stated he wants to stay in London, might be tempted by a move to United but I'd guess Madrid would be favourites if they did move for him.

Nasri - City haven't made a bid for him, United haven't made a bid for him. United will probably blink first early next week when people start to return from summer holidays. Samir is apparently a pretty focussed and decisive young man and isn't overly happy in Arsenal's factional dressing-room. The expectation in the area (even after City's reported "pole position" yesterday) was that he would be a United player by the end of next week as that's what he's decided to do.

DarkLard08

Believable8 Unbelievable7

PROBERLY THE ONLY STORY WHICH HAS ANY SUBSTANCE, BUT ITS STILL RUMOURS, SO ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO, BUT I WOULD OF THOUGHT NASRI KNOWS EXACTLY WHERE HE'S GOING, WE ALL DONT, BUT HE DOES AND SO DOES AW

Why real madrid move for modric ?
they have sahin, ozil, canales, kaka all playing more or less the same role
