@Ed002

Any interest being shown by United in Alexis Sanchez and Fabregas?

Believable12 Unbelievable11

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to speculate about whether or not Manchester United will make an acceptable offer to Barcelona nor whether Fabregas will accept a move to Manchester, but I think there is a very good chance of an offer being made by Manchester City. Arsenal will, I suspect, be thinking about making an offer. I have explained about AS already.}

Right I do not have any inside knowledge, just a hunch, but I am seriously of the impression that the shaw deal has gone quite as it has been completed and is to be announced by LVG post world cup

Believable14 Unbelievable18

I was reading from the paper today that Southampton will resist to sell Lallana (to Liverpool) and Shaw before world cup. of course this doesn't mean the deal cannot go through before hand.

If any of the eds are about. I believe there was interest in Fredy Guarin last year? Does this remain? I believe Inter also have an interest in Hernandez.

Believable8 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Not at this time. MU will look to sell Hernandez and right now Inter only want a loan.}

MU really need to shift on some unneeded players this summer. Inter will take the p1ss, they will take him on a cheap loan and refuse to sign him at the end of the season. Italian teams are struggling for cash so why not sell him to Spurs who have money.

Can any of the Eds shed any light on who we've actually bid for at this point given papers suggest we're buying everyone lol.

Shaw - looks to have been confirmed bid but is it accepted by Southampton and just down to personal terms?

Konoplyanka - stealing him from under the noses of Liverpool? He seemed to be 99% signed with them in Jan window but great move if United bound.

Sanchez - Barcelona turned down £25m bid? Interesting to see if his pre-Barca comments about a desire to join United are true or not or whether Champs League with Liverpool is a bigger draw. Winning Konoplyanka but 'losing' Sanchez wouldn't feel that great as Sanchez the better player.

And finally Fabregas. Would be gutted if Scousers got him. That would be a game-changer signing for them. Given our previous interest and Barca apparently signalling he can go do the Eds have an opinion on where he may end up? Not guaranteed we will bid for him again given it seemed he gave us the run around a bit last season and obviously we don't know if he's on Van Gaal's wish list or not.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

{Ed004's Note - I reckon we will sign Shaw but only if Chelsea sign Luis or Moreno. Fabregas and Sanchez will not be going to lpool IMO. Fabregas to arsenal or city and Sanchez to Juve. Konoplyanka can stay were he is for all I care if comments about preferring to stay in Ukraine over joining us are true}

After Robben ruling himself out of a move I expect Sanchez. With the left side covered by adnan and shaw+Evra/welbeck.Kagawa lol,

I still think PSG will have us dippin into there crowded midfield ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I would love Sanchez at utd. A left side of Sanchez and Shaw would be perfect}

I would love to see us get Sanchez and Fabregas. Would also love a move for Di Maria and have a front three of Sanchez, van Persie and Di Maria.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - Unfortunately I can't see us having the finances for that. We would have to sell a lot of players as we still need a lb cb and cm. we would need to sell Rooney Hernandez young nani Fellaini and probably Kagawa and hope to get good fees for all of them.}

Ed, that would be brilliant yes and would bring back the pace and flair that we are so badly missing. Who for the right side? Rafael and Di Maria? What would your pick be ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - If money wasn't an issue di Maria but since it is Januzaj}

What about this move for Konoplyanka - surely a £25 million move for Sanchez and this £12 million move for Konoplyanka is more than possible? I would still favour Januzaj and Sanchez up front but would that not work very nicely with Konoplyanka rotating?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - Haven't seen enough of konoplyanka to judge but as cover he might be a good signing. I could see us being interested in Depay before him though}

Either way, options for the front three of van Persie, Sanchez, Januzaj, Welbeck, Wilson and Konoplyanka / Depay would be brilliant. I would take Depay over Konoplyanka if his comments about us are true. Then get Mata as the most advanced midfielder with Fabregas and Strootman. Out of everyone, I would drop Rooney and Kagawa and priorities Mata - I think he would work fantastically well with Fabregas and also van Persie.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - The suggestion of a midfield of Strootman/Schweinsteiger, Fabregas and Mata is fantastic. That and Sanchez, Januzaj and RVP all being good on the ball and we would have one of the best 11 in the league}

I think it would be a scary team, getting back to the days of Ronaldo and Tevez. Can't find a place for Kagawa other than the bench, same applies to Rooney. I expect Kagawa will leave and Rooney will be a rotation option - if he doesn't like it then it will be bye bye Wayne.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - I'd have Kagawa ahead of Rooney tbh rivalling Mata}

For a midfield spot, so would I. I think Rooney should be the second choice striker to be honest - he would get a lot of games anyway as RVP should be properly looked after and should not always play the full 90 minutes and should sit out some games. Will Wayne be happy with that though? Realistically not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa does link well with mata though i'd guess he may drop into mid with perhaps matuidi/Vidal type player along side.
mata behind rvp with sanchez and adnan switching wings throughout.

i honestly don't expect more than a cm a winger and lb plus one cb.

If Kagawa could improve on his defence he would be a real class act.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at that successful Barca team midfield: Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. I could see Strootman, Fabregas and Mata/Kagawa having a very similar style and roles.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to 002 MU may have bid for Sanchez via a third party. If this is true then I guess the club may have lost confidence in Ed Woodward, either that or Ed Woodward is busy in Southampton sorting out another deal :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not uncommon to use third parties Syd.}

@Sydney!

Third parties were apparently involved in the Mata deal as well. Maybe Ed Woodward is being smart and delegating responsibility to people who have the know how and experience? It is an important part of management.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I thought a third party had been used in the Mata deal also. It seems like it could be a good way to go if it means that Woodward isn't involved. Unless of course Woodward is in Southampton for talks with Shaw - that deal is expected to be finalised fairly soon according to a number of in the know people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the info/opinion Eds®s.
Wasn't Van Gaal quoted as saying he thought Kagawa was best player in Germany when playing for Dortmund?
Appreciate he's not been given a fair crack of the whip during his time at United thus far but I don't see Kagawa going anywhere immediately. Surely it's Rooney and Mata who would need to prove themselves to LVG if Kagawa is in essence a player he admired/ would have signed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that the reports were unconfirmed so not too sure on that one. But I think he would be a good rotation option with Mata in a midfield three.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh okay Ed fair enough. Will you be able to dig a bit deeper in the coming days to find out if it was us who bid for Sanchez? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There have been no acceptable bids. Talks will continue with Juventus about Vidal but they want to keep him but may let Pogba go. The cash off on the table from Juventus is light years away from what Barcelona deem acceptable. Selling Pogba would give them a cash injection.}

Ed002 is there any interest in players from psg at this time?

I have matuidi as a possibility.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Who is Pogba most likely to be sold to for such a high price?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "most likely" questions.}

Ed, can you give the list of clubs showing intrest in any, are MU showing any interest.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't understand the question.}

I meant show interest in pogba

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG and Real Madrid all have shown an interest in Pogba. PSG are obviously in a difficult situation with UEFA and will need to sell to buy to help start balancing the books. It will make any deal for Pogba very difficult indeed. Juventus would like to keep hold of him and following a meeting with his representatives on May 8 and right now the situation remains settled - although that could change. However, Juve have decided they can probably not afford to keep both Pogba and Vidal if they are to do some business in the transfer market. There is interest from PSG, Real Madrid and Chelsea still - but Barcelona may switch their attentions from Vidal.}
