Hi ed,
any news on Nicolas Gaitan as I have heard his agents has stated he wants to play in the preier legue and that United have been interested in the place for a long term {Ed002's Note - Nothing new.}

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Gaitan is not good enough in my opinion. He is no better than what we have, in fact may not be as good as what we have.

Red Man

Red man could not agree more he is not good enough any time iv seen him he has been awful!REDWILL

Ed, Syd and anyone who has good transfer knowledge. Manchester United had a bid rejected on the last day of the summer transfer window for Neymar of about 37million. Can you see Sir Alex trying again for him or is he Barcelona bound?
NorthRed {Ed004's Note - I reckon he is Barcelona bound and I don't think he would suit the premiership. If Kagawa has had trouble adapting I can't see Neymar adapting tbh}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Neymar has stayed in brazil far to long now, The fee being quoted is crazy for a unproven player in europe imo, Problem is he has put himself in that position of value with his performances over the last 3 years or so in a brazilian league, so there is a big problem, I honestly think this could end up like a Dede or Ganso with him leaving santos for another club in brazil.
According to Tim Vickery the player himself is even having doubts about his ability to play in europe after a string of really bad games in europe

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll move to Spain next summer after the World Cup in Brazil.

Agree0 Disagree0

How has Kagawa had trouble adapting exactly?
He has had a few injuries this season, far from fluent in the language and is his first season.
Put a run of games together along with being played in his preferred position and he is awesome!
As for Neymar, I do not see him being anything more than what Robinho was for City, which of course didn't last long.

melwing28 {Ed004's Note - I'm just saying that Kagawa is yet to fully adapt to the league and isn't a regular yet. I have huge hopes for him next season but if it has taken Kagawa a year to settle how long will it take Neymar to settle?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa has been a massive disappointment this year. Yes he is Asian and needs to adapt to our game, but so what. He played for one of the best teams in Europe and shone, I doubt his German was too hot, yet he comes to us and does very little bar a few cameos agaisnt average opposition. I'm all up for giving players time especially ones that get injured, but I was expecting so much more from him this season, he was meant to be a star acquisition for us, but has been a mediocre squad player, you barely notice when he is playing which for a player in his position (playmaker, free role style)justifies Ed's comment about him having trouble adapting.

Our play needs to change in order to accomodate him, but he hasn't performed well enough to justify a switch in our style (chicken/egg). Hopefully another pre-season will help him improve, or maybe he could be used in a swap for Lewandowski, with Rooney dropping deeper rather than being moved on, who knows!

Agree1 Disagree1

Sweem, Kagawa started the season with great promise, the opening games looking one of our best players, then got a series of injuries and has struggled to get back into the team and adapt bar the odd cameo. For me there is no doubt Kagawa is a very talented player, the only problem I have is where do you play him? A bit like Daniel Sturridge (not saying in terms of quality or standard) in that technically really good but doesn't appear to have a set position that totally suits him. the most suited one seems to be behind a striker in Rooneys position, opening up a whole other debate
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa has struggled and he's even come out and admitted it himself that he hasn't contributed enough.
He has been dissapointing in my opinion but i'm hoping that he will improve next year.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

David Silva didn't exactly set the world alight in his first season in the premier League. Add to that players like Henry and you you can see why many hope next year
he will be a lot better. I doubt not a lot of people have played football where you don't speak the same language as the others in the team. It's surprisingly extremely difficult. I'm a half decent player and was very surprised as thought it wouldn't be much different. Give Kagawa time. He's obviously very talented and gets in great goal scoring positions. If we sold him then you'd all complain!

Its final. Till summer transfer

2 players that Fergie wants are: Luka Modric and James Rodriguez. Lewandowski is a bonus. Outs Valencia and Nani, scholes 50-50 if he retires? Brasilian Starlets Wellington Bueno and Bruno Gomes will join in the summer.

Believable17 Unbelievable28

We should sell nani Anderson Javier hernandez Antonio Valencia and buy cristiano ronaldo james Rodriguez luka modric asmir begovic Kevin strootman Robert lewandoski

Agree0 Disagree5

Would love to see strootman or gundogan come in with Rodriguez with lewy been a bonus Aswell as beuno and Bruno Gomes with nani ando linderguard bebe macheda scholes and possibly young and chica all leaving

Fergie to remain at the club for the next 2 seasons guarenteed. Ronlado to follow Mourinho out of Real Madrid and will join Utd for £65 million plus a player instead of joining PSG. Anderson to leave for a return to Porto for around £6 million

Believable20 Unbelievable40

If your sugesting Ronnie and Jose to arrive in 2years then why pay 65m if hell be out of contract

Agree0 Disagree0

Noname

I think you have midunderstood the post if not then I have ;)

He means Fergie will remain in charge for 2 more seasons but Ronnie and Jose will leave RM this summer to us and more likely Chelsea respectively

Agree5 Disagree0

If Ronaldo leaves Madrid the fee involved will be no where near £65 million. As he is over 28yrs old and will soon be into the last 2yrs of his contract he will be in a position to buy out the last two years of his contract if he wishes to do so.
Raffa

Agree1 Disagree0

Ronaldo will not go for more than £50m.

melwing28

Agree1 Disagree0

Would any of the Eds, Syd or anyone be able to clarify whether Ronaldo could buy out the last two years of his contract and force through a return to Old Trafford?

It would be good to see him return to Old Trafford and hopefully play a big part in SAF capturing a final Champions league before he finally retires.

Reports on Guardian suggest that Lewandowski will not be moving to United. Big Blow. Any truth in this?

Raghav.

Believable32 Unbelievable13

Apparently it's Gundogan that we're after? Would make more sense to be honest although I would love lewandowski too.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay, I didn't know about the Gundogan rumours. Lewandowski should be a good addition, someone who promises more goals than Welbeck and Chicha. (Not saying that they are bad)

Wayne Rooney, 27, wants assurances from Manchester United over his role with fellow strikers Robert Lewandowski and Athletico Madrid's Radamel Falcao linked to the club.

Believable35 Unbelievable8

The irony. Wanted to move because of a lack of ambition and signings from the club, then he gets his deal, shows no ambition or drive and wants assurances when we get linked to the best players in the world.

Agree4 Disagree0

After Rooney's poor performances for much of this season he's in no position toaskfor any assurances.

Agree1 Disagree0

If he came to me looking for assuarances I'd tell him where to go. He has had a poor season and is not bigger than anyone at the club nor is he indispensible.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only way that I see him staying is if we offer him less money with a new contract, he does not support £250k a week. We can have x2 quality players on over £100k a week who will do a lot more for the club.

melwing28

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he should be offered a contract at around 120k per week basic with bonuses that could see it go upto 160k a week which is about what he is worth. I would tell him no one is bigger than the club and everyone has to earn their place in the team by training hard and showing thier dedication to the team by looking after themselves and not turning up to training over a stone over weight.
