Eds, yesterday it seemed that the Nasri was all but done, yet today apparently it is off. Do you know tue reasons for this break down in talks. Did interest from United have anything to do it?

ags {Ed007's Note - No.}

If ed 007 is around, earlier in the transfer window you hinted united may be considering hazard do you think he is still under consideration and with interest from arsenal we could make a move? tom17. {Ed007's Note - No, as far as I know Utd interest ended whan the Nani/Juve deal fell through.}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Sorry Ed, but you were wrong about any Nani - Juve deal. I don't know where you heard it but Nani is held in the highest regards by Fergie. He was sub the other week for tactical reasons only.

UNITED_LEGENDS {Ed002's Note - Juventus made serious enquiries for Nani. It is nothing to do with how he is thought of by Ferguson.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok mate, but the way you said "deal fell through" kind of sounds like you were implying we would/were going to sell him. Nani is now in the top bracket of world players and I would be shocked if a bid was accepted

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with that chap ed you are wrong nani was never goin to leave come On like 11 goals and 18 assists in league and we d sell him I don't think so they mite have made enquiries but united never wud have sold

OMG, first time here for a couple weeks - I did tell you then United will NOT be signing anyone else this summer. Its a FACT - there are no appointments for medicals at all, apart from a young lad from Southampton. But, to keep you upbeat I did hear that United may do business in January. Good luck Monday night lads....

Nasri confesses desire to join United,,City-Nasri talks collapse,,,United rumoured to have prepared a bid for Nasri,,Arsenal loses to Liverpool at home after 11years,,,Whats next guys?Nasri signs for United?Ed is this not our chance to snap him? {Ed002's Note - Sure.}

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Ed002, sarcasm is too difficult to understand for some, or was it not that?

REDFAITH

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri has never said anything. Usual media tactics of talking on behalf of players. I have just been informed by a very reliable source in France that Nasri has snubbed noisy neighbours. Unfortunately he wont be coming to us as he apparently has decided to stay at Arsenal on a new contract with a release clause for next summer as he is said to be very close to Mr Wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should sign nasri he looked good today, 1 of the only arsenal palyers who looked like they could do anything

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did Nasri confess this, at church...and did it start forgive me father for i have sinned

Agree0 Disagree0

All irrelevant- Arsenal wont deal with us. Emd of.

This is going to be a tough week for news papers and this site WS not training for personal reasons?? Nasri talks seemed to have broken down funny enough after papers say nasri would prefer united?? Chelsea are in for Mata after 2 modric bids failed and now Harry is saying he might consider selling Modric?? All united targets will we sign any ?? As gill said along time ago now we have a big signing in mind but if it is to be completed it won't be till end of Market...only 2 weeks left and I get to see what this site is like without all the transfers as I only found it after transfer Market lol {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have only made one bid for Modric to date - regardless of what you read elsewhere.}

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Do you have any idea of the figure that was offered there Ed002?

REDFAITH {Ed002's Note - Very early 20s.}

Chelsea TV Source: Confirmed: Juan Mata is at Stamford Bridge.

could we be going for modric?

TRUMORS

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Im not sure there is anything in the modric thing or sneijder for that matter , ferguson has a problem when it comes to recognizing our need for quality additions in the midfield department. Its been three years now that he has failed to sign anyone with quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2011 16:43:09
yep wesley sneijder is definitly not training and is not in the squad for theyre olympiacos game,could be for any reason but hopefully lads its coz he wants the move to us.

Believable16 Unbelievable8

20 Aug 2011 15:36:04
Well i guess now we'll really see who our preferred choice was from nasri/modric/sneijder as modric looks available with chelsea buying mata, nasri's move to city has broken down and he is staying at arsenal.. It does look to be sneijder though ;)

Ozwald

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Hopefully sneijder will sign i cant see modric leaving london though united would have some midfield if both nasri and sneijder signed

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree completely.. It will at least lessen the pressure on Cleverley. The kid's got potential but sometimes everyone is giving a lot of pressure to him about him being the new Scholes.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't find any evidence to say Nasri's move is off

Agree0 Disagree0

Its odd it played today if the move isn't off it was a massive gamble by wegner
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

For the person who can not find the evidence of nasri move as broken down it was on french t.v channel canal+ and they where saying about it during the game nothing official that it is off yet but the rumour is popping up on a few places now

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt Wenger sees it as a gamble. Im sure he would rather Nasri stayed at Arsenal regardless of whether he wants to. He seems desperate not to lose anymore key players.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

TK RED
Wegner might be keeping hold of him for the euro game , its a massive game for them and it looks like they are going to need him.
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i don't think the deal is completely dead, just major doubts.. I have a feeling nasri doesn't want to move to city, he just wanted to get out of arsenal Wanted to join us in the first place

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see wenger playing nasri for the cl tie , as he will then be cup tied if he moves on ...not looking good for arsenal for the qualifier as injurys and bans take a toll on the team , could mess them up for any transfers they have in mind ie hazard , cant say im unhappy about it lol

This is an old article. Although I do see him signing soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Until i see sneijder in utd shirt alongside rooney in the premier league i wont believe it

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the article is dated the 10th which means we actually signed him 8 days ago...
GREAT COME ON.. oh no we didn't silly me......

oxfordRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Wesley Sneijder has been left out of Inter Milan's squad to face Olympiakos on Sunday for 'personal reasons' think what you like ....

Agree0 Disagree0

Leaving him out of the squad to play in the CL is not for our benefit, not specifically us anyway. Despite what Moratti says, Sneijder is on Inter's transfer list, therefore cannot play against Olympiakos as it would hamper any deal away from the club.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats dated 10th August Get real man or learn to read

Agree0 Disagree0

@Sydney!

Correct me if I am wrong but Inter vs Olympiakos is not a champions league fixture, so wouldn't hamper any deal away from Inter surely?

SAF doesnt beleive there is value in the market and wont be making a big midfielder purchase in this window. FACT In other news a bright new prospect, chris wright is being looked at hes a 15 year old winger from southampton academy hes having a trial next week. In fergie we trust Great Website

solskjaer 98'

Believable2 Unbelievable14

I hate this blind faith in SAF ("in Fergie we trust"). At what point will supporters stop trusting him without question, I wonder?

Yes he's the greatest British football manager ever. Yes, he continues to win trophies. However, nobody stays at the top forever, so please don't assume he'll always make the right decisions. He's only human, after all

If he decides not to sign a top midfielder this month then I for one will start to have my doubts - despite having supported the club since 1967. We need to win trophies IN STYLE, not like last season.

Red to the Core

Agree0 Disagree0

Well fergie has let players like keane, schimicheal, van nistlerooy, stam all go some of our best players at those times and we were still changeling / winning titles... I for one will always trust in fergie

Agree0 Disagree0

If you call yourself a man utd fan you will trust alex in what hes doing just look at what hes won over his career not just with us but with aberdeen etc. we would not be where we are without him he has made this club and i will stick by him whatever he does we must believe in fergie if you dont then your not a man utd fan
THE HEMMINATOR

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and still support united. If we don't sign a world class midfielder it shows a lack of ambition for which saf must take responcibility

Agree0 Disagree0

The Hemminator

You can be a very good Man Utd fan and ask questions of the manager.

SAF has a fantastic record in the league however he has not been as successful in Europe as he should have been (2nd is not success only money spinning for the owners)
I believe the Berbatov and Veron deals made him slightly less confident in the market when looking to buy established world class stars. That and his intransigence in the face of the obvious is his achilles heel (see the racehorse problem he had for an example). There have been some strange decisions which later, much later, he has finally acknowledged were wrong. He doesnt often admit mistakes or is he so overconfident he doesnt believe he makes them?
Lets see what happens over the next 10 days but if we dont buy (2 players in my opinion) by the end of the window we need to ask, is it SAF or the Glazers that have failed the club? I would prefer to believe it was the Glazers

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Red man u obviously trust in fergie urself after questioning him a bit there urself... I think we need 2 signings just for the comfort but I have no doubts it's the glazers holding him back... Can't believe u said that about finishing 2nd in Europe twice we were beating by the best team I have ever seen in 28 yrs don't know about u but to finish second to the likes of messi, xavi, inesta I wouldn't call it a disgrace

Apparently Sneijder has been dropped for this weeks game. He has requested to leave and will finally be joining in the next week.
Doyley

Believable10 Unbelievable12

It says on inters web site that he was not training today due to personal reasons along with what u have written - make of that what u will, maybe he has finally said he wants to leave, only a guess though...

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets hope he will be a united player by the time we play arsenal at home would be great to see him in a red shirt

UNITEDFORLIFE

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not sure we will need Sneijder for the Arsenal game. Arsenal are in huge trouble right now. We must take advantage of it.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold your horses there, he hasn't trained today that is right, but they dont actually play til the 28th August so hasn't been dropped. Lets not get over excited.

Id like to see utd have either goetze and m'villa or arteta and diarra as the centre two. Whats other peoples opinion

Believable8 Unbelievable15

All of them would be great apart from diarra due to his attitude. I've never understood why no one has been interested seriously in Arteta the man is a genius and would be relatively cheap considering Evertons' position. Red Paddy

Agree0 Disagree0

....because Arteta misses much of each season with injury, which is a shame, but renders him a bad investment. I would be delighted to get Goetze to partner/compete with the likes of Cleverly in the long term. Im a fan of M'Villa too but would be happy to back Fletcher in DM for the time being with Pogba looking like a briallant long-term prospect

mata joining chelsea. hazard joing arsenal..sanchez has joined baca.. snigder not interested.. modric wants chelsea...nasri joining moneypower city.. ganso may go to MILANS.. varane choose real madrid, lukaku joined chelsea
doesnt this point something?? last summer ozil snubbed, balloteli snubbed,
united are failing to convey bright prospects to join them.. and so failing in making proper purchase. dnt undsatnd how they have managed to trap de gea? must be a gurantee of first team play has done the trick.. united have no money. de gea, and 2nd option to sanchez( YOUNG) we bought..not willingly..but forcefully..as VDS retired and giggs wil call it off at end of season.. jones? just because 2 experience defenders were leaving.. now where is the ambition here for future? wht we were listening while roone saga... tht major signing wil come.. whr is more than busy summer gone as stated by Gill? if UTD thinks sanchez, nasri, snijder, hazard,aguero were not worth that money...then they lack todays market prices.. we paid 31.5 we got berba... city paid 34m they got aguero.. how brillient

Warning to others: Do not try reading this if you have a hangover, the mixute of mis-types and bad english turns your headache into a full blown migraine

Agree0 Disagree0

My friend it's not the transfer fees the problem, but the wages. We just can't blow away the wages structure at the club to get Mr. Aguero, Sneijder, etc... What we tell the players already at the club when they want a pay rise? We don't have neither russian sugardaddies and nor are we the plaything of a rich arab. We've got debt ridden yonks. We, simple united fans can't do anything as those yonks OWN the club. They can do whatever they want. Now I support UTD and WHATEVER PLAYER wearing the red shirt since childhood and will continue to do so and won't be crying about some player not joining us because of money.

Couldnt' agree more, I think someone mixed up the letters on this guys keyboard during the night {Ed007's Note - Try this then:

www.celticrumours.co.uk/celtic-news/celtic-news251.php

Agree0 Disagree0

Your analysis is obviously correct, we have never been any good at buying players or nurturing youth. We have only won 12 of the 19 or 20 premier leagues.We have only won 4 of the last 5 and the one that got away we lost by 1 point.We have only been in 3 out of the last 4 champions league finals. We constantly buy cheep and useless players like Rooney, Chico, Nani, Valencia, Evra, Vidic, Berbatov, some cost a lot some cost a little.Manchester United have broken the British transfer record more than any other team -Law,Robson,Pallister,Keane,Van Nistelrooy etc plus Ferdinand was and maybe still is the most expensive defender in the World.Wish a man of insight and intelligence like you was running the club rather than SAF.
Oh yeah,by the way what planet you from?
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Just read the Celtic link, well most of it, I couldn't finish it for the tears of laughter. Cheers Ed

We won the league last year, ad were CL finalists, so why are you so worried, we have a strong team.

But in all honesty, that is one of the funniest things I have ever read, jesus, to be that illiterate would be scary, I hope for his sake that was a piss take. Looks like Modric is coming to Old Trafford.
Fergie gave a few clues in his recent interview.

sport.uk.msn.com/football/news/modric-will-be-sold-for-right-price-ferguson

Lets get this wrapped up and prepare for the season.
I have to say throughout the entire window Modric is the only player i have heard SAF say anything positive about.

Also the fact he said the player is not available..if he becomes available.....

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Can't really see how you got that impression from that article.

Either i'm not reading it right or it's just wishfull thinking on your part.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are projecting your wishes rather than seeing the facts.Modric will be playing for Spurs or Chelsea this season.His chances of being a United player are about 1 in 100,000. He just doesn't want to leave London.
Mik

Probably right, im reading between the lines.
Also im reading between what G.neville just said on match just now.

Ed002, if you're around, it looks like Mata is getting closer and closer to joining Chelsea. Is the plan to bring him in with Modric or is he an alternative?

Matthew... {Ed002's Note - Subject to formalities, Mata will complete his £24.5M transfer in a couple of days. Modric, I don't know. Certainly there is no link to Mata in respect of Modric or someone else arriving.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

You have to say Mata & Modric are not typical Chelsea buys. Chelsea usually play strong aggressive players, not little fellas.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Like McEachran, Malouda, Zola and Kakuta.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney - I think you're confusing Chelsea buys and Mourinho buys. Even against Barcelona, he's still trying to bully the opposition with big physical players. And it's not working.

Matthew...

Agree0 Disagree0

Zola was part of the old Chelsea Ed, Malouda is actually very strong and powerful, Kakuka has never played for the club, certainly not a first team player and McEachran is not strong and powerful down to his age.

This would be a new direction for Chelsea as their dominance in the past was down to size and strength and out powering teams. Chelsea had slight issues with Sanchez' size and whether or not he can cope with the robustness of the PL, well Mata is far smaller and weaker than Sanchez.

Perhaps a mixture of flair and strength is the perfect recipe for Chelsea winning the CL?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Another Sydney moment - poor old Kakuta appearances for Chelsea being wiped from the record books.}

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2011 10:45:06
Imo we need a player like Modric while Chelsea need a player like Sneijder yet it is the other way round Wouldn't you agree Ed?

REDFAITH {Ed002's Note - No, Chelsea have no need for Sneijder. He'd be behind Ganso in the pecking order anyway.}

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Ed 002 do Chelsea have Ganso or something as I am confused now to that last comment. Sorry if I am being very stupid. {Ed002's Note - I was just teasing you. Chelsea don't have Ganso - at least not yet.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Highly doubt Ganso will go anywhere soon, he's seems to have just discovered his new found love for real madrid too? -.-'

And i believe sneijder would be a better player for us than modric one reason being he sees the quick long passes like no one else (well obviously there is someone else but he's retired now)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Aug 2011 00:18:02
Well Mata's off to Chelsea. The scousers will be devastated, he's been like a god on that site for months now. I guess they'll have to settle for Ken Aguero.

The real question should be......Where has the £80 mill Ronaldo money plus United profits gone Sit down and have a think about that Sent by a Life Long Red

Believable18 Unbelievable4

The 80million went to the debt fund and so do our profits out the glazers they are just bringing us down with them
Macca

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on guys, im a kopite and can answer that 1 for u. 16mil for young, same on jones and 18mil de gea(dodgy at the mo but i think he will be your no1 for years). thats 50mil and the proposed 30+mil yous gona pay for sneijder (personal terms i believe the problem. still think he'l lower his demands and sign for yous. not that im happy it about it) that equals the ronaldo fee. running profits are helping to service interest payments on the debt.

Tomkop7

Agree0 Disagree0

Along with the 50 mil spent this season, and the 20 mil last season? And the 50 mil the season before? God I wonder

Agree0 Disagree0

Where has all the money gone, long time passing....

Gone to the bankers everyone

What do you expect in our free market world my friend?

Agree0 Disagree0

Get over yourselves They own the club, the club are winning and they have given Sir Alex what he has asked for when he has needed it.

Everyone in the would had the chance to buy United. They did and they have pulled of a mastercoup in doing so. The club will be stronger at the end of the process.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about this. Valencia-17 mil. Hernandez-7 mil.
Obertan-3 mil.
Smalling-10 mil.
Jones-16 mil.
De gea-18 mil.
Young-16 mil.
All these players have came to the club since ronnie left. Plus there are others as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

The £80m Ronaldo money has been in the cash reserves for the past couple of years. We are actually spending some of it now. None of the Ronaldo money went to service debt. of course money has left the club to pay debt, actually to the tune of £400m, but the Ronaldo money has been in the bank untouched all along.
