After securing rojo. United is in advance talk with benatia. Bayern are the main rivals for it. Expect a quick decision on this.
Secondly. Di maria negotionations are well under way. missing on UCL is costing us badly.

Benatia will go for Bayern I'm sure - but I think we are in with a shot of Di Maria.

If any eds are about I'm just curious as to whether Fellaini has any other potential suitors apart from Napoli? The reason I ask is because I've noticed Napoli have just signed De Guzman from Villareal which I presume has something to do with the pictures I've sign of Fellaini on crutches, thanks in advance

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I am aware that Spurs and Bursaspor considered him, but if fit, the loan to Napoli will go ahead. De Guzman was always going to be moving to Napoli.}

Thanks ed!

Ed002 was there any interest in Lovren before he went to Liverpool?
And is there any interest in Inigo Martinez?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Interest in Lovren was there from Roma, Liverpool and even Barcelona keeping a watching brief. Spurs were looking for two centre backs and with their new manager would certainly have considered him.

Last summer Roma, Zenit, Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid showed some level of interest or other in him. They are not looking to sell him this summer.}

Mehdi Benatia has told Roma he wants to join Bayern Munich, according to L'Equipe.

Believable23 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - That should not be a shock.}

Again what I told u 2 days before was correct. But u guys jeep on abusing me .

Luke,

Sometimes you just need to be a little more modest in life, nobody really cares who gives us information, if you are arrogant about it, you will get abused.

You're doing pretty well Luke.

Friend working as an intern at a tabloid newspaper told me last night they have heard Utd are to bid for Joel Veltman & Juan Cuadrado to cover the Centre Back & Right Wing Back slots!

They are also looking at either De Jong or Luis Gustavo for the Defensive Midfield role (Vidal & Carvalho are unobtainable for Utd).

Because anyone can spout off a mix of what they read on twitter and what Ed002 has confirmed and claim to be 'in the know'. I'll never understand this need for people to act like they know what's going on behind the scenes. It is truly tragic.

Agree5 Disagree1

I've heard quite a bit about Veltman being the next Dutch CB star. But since de Vrij is the same age and started instead of Veltman in the world cup, surely de Vrij is the better player?

From what I heard, Veltman started playing really well then became sloppy. So is it a case of Veltman is the better player due to raw potential that just needs to developed properly and he is preferred to de Vrij? Or did we lose out on de Vrij due to being overconfident that we would sign Hummels and now have to settle for 2nd best(Dutch CB of course)?

I'm just passing on what I saw online, not claiming to have any insight as to what's going on behind the scenes

Sorry AVO I should have specified - I was responding to the 'I told you so' from LukeShaw.

Hi Eds, or anyone that might be in the know. SSN Running a piece on Lucas Silva of Cruzeiro with a number of teams interested in him.

I had a gander at him and saw he only really broke into the side this season. Is there any interest from us, say in a scouting perspective? or is this just rumour mill going wild?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Lucas Silva attracted a lot of scouts during the last season from across Europe. One EPL side made a proposal about buying him and lending him back - I suspect because of work permit issues. Dinamo Moskow, Benfica and Porto have made their interest known and it is surprising there have been no more firm offers at this time. However, I understand that Marco Silva is keen to take him to Sporting but may well wait until Carvalho's departure is confirmed. But he does appear on a list of players which may well be making a move in the next two weeks.}

Who's currently showing interest in Carvalho Ed? Saw Arsenal and Chelsea being linked with him again and he was also mooted as an alternative for us if the Vidal move didn't happen.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are interested but not at the asking price - Chelsea are interested but they are awaiting news on another player first. Sporting are expecting him to leave, but would not be upset if a deal cannot be put together.}

Do you expect Carvalho to go then ed? If so, where?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is not what I expect, it is what Sporting expect. Certainly he is one of a list of players that there is interest in form various clubs - and may well move over the next two weeks. There is plenty of time and plenty of movement to come. There are lots of efforts from agents of players from the likes of Shakhtar that are trying to move players on, and there are Italian clubs with business to do, as there are German clubs still hovering and many of the "leading" English sides are still trying to regroup for the new season.}

Thanks for that Ed, will be on the look out for where he may end up!

Ed do you think real may rekindle interest in Vidal if they manage to raise some cash from the sales of Khedira and Di Maria? Vidal has made it clear in the past that real would be his first choice. Perhaps this is why we are hesitant in paying real for players.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - No, I don't see any chance of that.}
