I could see us maybe getting one of them but theres no way those 3 players will be signed in jan. I think our best hope is another club forcing our hand over strootman. Baines maybe in the summer and i dont see us signing W.S at all.

Man u need two new cb as Ferdinand is crap and vidic is too old and injury prone, shawcross, ogbonna being touted. They also will get a winger as nani is leaving(zaha or Rodriguez) they will also try and get a attacking mind & a defensive. Attacking just because they need one( gotze Ericsson- he's out off contract so feegie might just get him so rivals dont- snejder &isco) defensive is a replacement for scholes, giggs and carrick( strootman

As much as I live the rumours and gossip not a chance in hell of united signing any 3 players in January, just doesn't happen. You would be lucky with one of those, "reliable source".

Fabio won't be leaving. rafael has become our 1st choice rb & fabio will probably become a regular lb for us over the next few seasons. he's at qpr to get regular 1st team experience

are we really in for fernandinho of shaktar? apparently £16.5 million was the quoted price? also with us being drawn against madrid in the CL our defence could do with some new blood?

He would be cup tied, so he cant face real madrid. I rate him quite highly though, he is a better version of Ramires. He is a great player and he would improve our team.

What with this draw everyone is so happy about, it got me wondering what people thought the best performance by an opposition player (against Utd) was. At the moment I can only really think of Ronaldo in '03, perhaps Le Tiss ages ago.
Anyone else remember a performance standing out?

Colin Bell (OT April/May 1968?) had strapping on a hamstring injury and almost single handedly won the First Division title for Citeh. One of the best individual performances I have ever seen from an opposition player - respect!

Kaka in the games against Milan. When he nipped in between Evra and who ever else was supposedly playing centre back and knicked it with his head before beating VDS. Absolute quality.

Anyone know much about Lucas Biglia? He's not a player i know a great deal about if im honest apart from the basics. I know he's been linked with arsenal and liverpool but have we shown any interest?
According to he's available for 8.35m(quotes from Anderlecht general manager), would this be a good option for us? Seems a decent player from what little ive seen although i dare say theres a reason they are willing to sell for what seems like a low fee considering he has 2 years contract left.

Anderlecht rejected an approach from Parma last season but I suspect he could well move this winter with Wolfsburg looking very keen indeed, but there may well be interest from other Italian clubs. He has, on a number of occasions, expressed an interest in playing in Spain but previous interest from Real Madrid seems to have waned.}

Hey ed002,how are things?do you know do united stand any chance of signing Zaha?do you think guardiola could replace saf 1 day?thanks {Ed002's Note - (1) Crystal Palace will look to hold on to Zaha until the summer and if they get promoted perhaps after that too. He was to be allowed to move this past summer at the right price with Sunderland, West Ham and Reading look possible destinations. Liverpool have certainly looked at Zaha in the past but there is strong interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Game time will no doubt be a factor in the short-term. (2) There are those at Old Trafford that would like to see Guardiola replace SAF so it is, perhaps, possible.}
