If you believe the printed press we are trying to slowly acquire the Argentinian national team. Is there any truth to these reports Ed's? I would personally like otamendi, not too sure about gaitan or Perez. What do other posters think?
I might also be tempted to offer Dortmund £30m + Nani. If we leave it to the summer I believe there will only be one outcome. He will end up at bayern Munich.
{Ed002's Note - (1) Otamendi has only effectively been playing in Spain for three months or so. As such a move is unlikely. (2) Gaitan remains over-priced and I am not aware of any remaining interest in him from Manchester United. (3) A representative of Enzo Perez' agents ESG has been in England this week working on a deal for another player - he told me that ia deal for Perez to move to Spain is effectively complete - so it seems unlikely he will be moving to Manchester either.}

Thanks for your insight ed. your input always appreciated. Can you give us an early Xmas present and a hint as to who we might be trying to sign? Merry Xmas to all the eds and posters
{Ed002's Note - The focus has to be a centre back Huggy. Mats Hummels will be the primary target if available. Alternatively, Godin if available; Virgil van Dijk but there is interest from elsewhere and I cannot see him sitting on the bench; Miranda - only at a much, much lower fee. Joël Veltman is no longer an option; Terence Kongolo is of growing interest to both Manchester clubs and Southampton. The critical issue is timing - few if any will be available in January.
Cuadrado might be a January option as might Santiago Arias. If Lindegaard moves on Valdes may well be signed on a short-term deal.}
Thx Ed. you are a legend. All the best to you and yours.
