Hearing rumour in Ireland through supporters ticket group that Bale deal is on.
No fee mentioned just that it's same source who was ahead of the rest with Schweinsteiger deal.
I didn't post that at the time because I wanted to see if it materialised first before posting a second rumour

Bale would be a quality addition! Not sure where we would play him though.

Cheers for sharing the rumour Tonebags, much appreciated.

More chance of Christian Bale than Gareth.

Anywhere across the front 3. He's streets ahead of anyone we have

If Di Maria ends up leaving, is there a chance we could end up getting Draxler from Schalke?

Read a few rumours in the past half hour that Man Utd have bid 100m euro for Thomas Muller

MEN and other sources denying it.

I truly believe no journalist knows what is going on with Man Utds transfers this summer. Big Ed is in stealth mode!

I agree it's all very hush hush at the minute regarding transfers . Still plenty of time left for a striker and centre half. Must admit 70 million for Muller is a bit steep IMO. Although I think it's a smoke screen , apparently Mr Woodward on his way back to conclude some transfer business , could be DDG , could be Di Maria , Could be some new faces . Exciting times ahead me thinks .

The press are reporting we've denied it rather than they know we haven't.

Spurs bid for Hernandez. Interesting if true.

Hernandez will stay as back up to Rooney. Can't see united strengthening up front and what top striker would be lured to sitting on the bench. Noted RVP comments about Rooney set in stone up front and I'm sure strikers around the world know score. REMEMBER we got Wilson and Fellaini who can fit the role too.

I can't see Hernandez staying. He'll get virtually no game time. He wasn't impressive for us in his final 18 months and wasn't impressive at Madrid - your secondary strikers need to be nearly as good as your first choice now.

In terms of Spurs, I work with a lot of Spurs fans and it's a story that comes up every year. Personally, as a starter, I'd put Hernandez another level down - Villa, West Ham, Newcastle - so I'm not so sure it's true.

Little p is a goalscorer no ifs or buts. He plays he scores. His build up play ain't the best but on the shoulder he's a threat intelligent runs. We could have done with him last season should never had let him go.

No way we will sell home while his collarbone is in 2 pieces

A lot of talk from my wifes family in Buenos Aires. They say gonzallo higuain to utd, this can't be true, surely we have as good as him on the bench.

I can't see why, he's a terrible finisher. Using Hernandez would be a better option than him.

haven't seen a lot of him,but he had a terrible world cup.

I'd like to see Hernandez be back up. He is a great impact player and could do a good job for us.

I maintain that we won't sign another striker though and will head into the season with Rooney, Chicharito and Wilson with Depay playing up front also as well as Januzaj and maybe a move for Pedro.

Agree with fresh, depay and Pedro add goals from wide and are versatile. Rooney, pea and Wilson for one spot. Big name striker next summer

With Rooney in the team and a 4-3-3 I have never been able to see how a new striker fits in. Rooney can only play through the middle, and I doubt Van Gaal will go to a 2 in the middle. We will see as the season goes on but I imagine it will be 3 from Herrera, Carrick, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin most games.

Fresh, you forgot Blind.

I agree with Fresh, with Rooney in the squad I can't see another big name striker coming in. I always thought it would be a right winger/forward.

It will certainly be a right sided forward.

The left is well stocked: Memphis, Young, Januzaj and Di Maria if he stays.

The centre has a guaranteed starter in Rooney with Hernandez and Wilson back up.

The right is the weakest side, Januzaj could play there and Mata does a good job out there but it is neither players best position. Valencia is awful going forward and simply cannot be effective there. So we need a new starter on the right side.

I see us flogging Di Mara for near enough £55 million - we are in a good position to hold out for the fee we want. We will sign Pedro in the coming days for £22 million and also finalize a deal for Otamendi. Selling Di Maria will pay for Pedro and Otamendi in other words.

That will leave a first choice front 3 of Memphis - Rooney - Pedro with Mata, Young, Januzaj, Chicharito, Wilson all to come in.

We also must not forget the progress of Pereira who I hope really shows what he can do this year.
