Ed is there any update on the Thiago situation? I get the feeling things are going on fast begin the scenes in the Thiago camp.

Apparently personal terms between United and Thiago are settled and done it's just United and Barca agreeing the fee etc, might take a little time.

If he has a release clause in his contract and it gets triggered then Barca can't do anything about it. {Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that.}

Always thought that a club couldn't agree personal terms before a fee has been agreed I must have been wrong all these years

Heard from a friend that United will sign Gaitan and not Garay.

Your friend is misinformed. united will sign thiago, strootman & garay. all fees and personal terms have been agreed.

I personally don't want Gaitan but would love Thiago, Strootman and even Garay because of our defensive frailties.

So with the Confed Cup heating up, the Manchester United players have been performing very well. Good job from Kagawa and Hernandez. Ed's Anyone got a clue on the players leaving this summer? Thanks for the good work guys.

Vermjl?! He looked great in the u21s this season! I guess he thinks with Rafael and Varela there is no chance for him getting any appearances in the first team anytime soon.

Vermijl was rejecting offers prior to the trials of Varela. I think Standard Liege or another club maybe trying to get him on the cheap. That's just my opinion though, I have no evidence.

Find that strange though, he's a good player but obviously doesn't think he could break into the first team within a few years. Can Varela only play RB? Don't understand why we signed him, considering Valencia can cover RB if needed so can Smalling and Jones!

Because its a waste playing centrebacks or wingers at right back, modern fullback is quite a specialised position and Valencia, Smalling or Jones lack the full skill set to play there.

Vermijl can't have been that good or he'd have got some sort of sniff at first team action.

Vermijl was quality in the youth fa cup final. He was also considered the best reserves player behind januzaj and one other, I forget which one. I don't see why we wouldn't try to keep him

Thiago Alcantara's father and agent Mazinho have already met with United officials and the player is close to joining the club.

I think we got him to be honest reckon it will be announced in the next few days. A winger would be nice too possibly lamela/gaitan because not convinced with the ronaldo rumours

Let's hope Thiago will come fingers crossed.

Surely all De Gea had to say was 'How do you feel about filling Paul Scholes's boots?' any young Barca midfielder would druel when they heard that haha.

Ronaldo will not be coming back to OT this summer, utd not willing to pay the asking price and have told him to hold tight until next summer.

Man utd will pay the asking price, I have NO doubts about that, but will they get the chance to, is a more appropriate claim?

The shirt sale from ronaldo over the next two kit releases would recoup that, rememebr when Beckham went to Madrid, we let Madrid pay up his £24m transfer fee and they took in over£100m in shirt sales in 2 years.

Thats why this transfer really could happen IMO.
