Guys club will confirm if we sign anyone,so pls stop all this hazard story.he has not sign anything yet,we just put offer on the table, its up him to now.but if you askin me,i'll prefer gaitan.why? coz he want to play in our team. hazard seems he want money more.

ferdcoast

Believable14 Unbelievable2

I couldn't agree more. Kagawa and Gaitan would be better for us than Hazard anyway. I've had enough of his playing games. Too often have i had my hopes dashed by some player who flirts with us only to choose another option for more money or because it's their dream to play for whoever.

Anyone think going in for Munian should be considered he's got potential to be world class, or gotze right price surely Dortmund would sell,

anyone else got Any ideas?

Dwright

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I want to see Munian in a United top other then the Biblao colours he currently wears!

He is unbelievable, definitely United quality and im sure United are keeping an eye out on him..
If we was to miss out on Hazard we need to get Munian as a must on NOT Gaitan or if we got both that Hazard and Munian, are team would be fulll of creativity which we have lacked in most recent years.

Genuinely think we should take a shot at Torres when he's on form he's pure class fergie could get him back to his best , him and rooney would be class

Believable17 Unbelievable8

He is not worth the money

Agree0 Disagree0

For me Torres is past it, he has lost one of his key assets.... his pace. He never has the time he used to have to smash the ball into the net, and because of that he always gets shots blocked or loses possession.

Okay guys, here is what I've just found out compliments of Julien Laurens...

Apparently Hazard was set to announce that he would be playing for United this season however because of Chelsea winning the UCL he is no considering there offer more seriously.

He didn't believe they would win the game and therefore was going to say he was joining us but now he wants to listen to Chelsea because they can now offer him UCL football and the chance to live in London (something that attracted him to spurs in the first place).

The Moon.

Believable14 Unbelievable11

I did tell everyone that if Chelsea win the UCL it would make it harder for us to sign players in the summer. Still, United fans wanted them to win.........

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowhere does he say Hazard was set to pick us. In fact, he is still of the opinion that Hazard will pick City/

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the case then we need to wrap up deals for Kagawa & Gaitan ASAP.

Can not go through another summer like the last couple.....

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

Have Chelsea already bought Marko Marin? I don't think they'll spend on Hazard as they should/will spend on more important areas.

Hazard said on C+ that the qualification of Chelsea for the C1 next season "makes (him) think" about his future

Hazard: "Chelsea is qualified for the Champion's League next season and that's what i wanted about my future destination. It makes me think"

Believable5 Unbelievable4

This is probably so utd improve their offer so he gets a better deal

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 23:00:21
It's the usual close season for Man United and their fans.....certain targets playing mind and money games with us.....and probable as usual we'll stick around too late and not only miss out on the player but all our other targets too.

Regardless of what other fans say, Kagawa,Gaitan are quality signings...we need to make major decisions now or lose these potential signings too!

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Why dont you give David Gill a shout - Im sure he would value your input!

I'm not sure if there is anything there about the Lewandowski rumour, but if we do eventually sign Kagawa, they have made a great partnership this season.

If we are losing Owen, Berba and Maybe Macheda surely it is a possibility?

Hazard had this to say after the game:

"My agent has met with Manchester, and with Chelsea, they both give good offers, and are both great clubs,"

N.B: In France, when someone says "Manchester" or "le Manchester" they mean manchester united, they do not say United(probably due to pronounciation issues). I know this as I have a friend from France, and me being a man utd fan, he tells me about this kind of thing.

Believable15 Unbelievable2

He won't make his mind up till after the euros so he can put his talent on show and the likes of barca an real Madrid get involved so he gets better wages

He's not playing at the Euro's though

Agree0 Disagree0

My bad thought they had! Still think es holdi out for more money... Otherwise he would of chose united no.7 shirt playing time... Just all points to city or Chelsea now

Dwright

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy that said this:
"But we know city are very interested! Saying manchester & chelsea and "both clubs" indicates only 2 jobs have made offers no?"

True, City seemed as though they were interested but clearly they have not made an offer. Let me be perfectly clear. He is definately referring to Manchester United, no doubt about it. Or he would have said "City", as there is a clear distinction between how they refer to the two clubs in french dialect.

cantona's legal team

Agree0 Disagree0

He's just holding out for more money, it should be an easy footballing decision. United are in the top 3 best clubs in the world. He'll get playing time, learn from legends like Giggs and Scholes, and get a decent wage, and win trophies. I get the feeling he's motivated by the wrong thing... money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oooppss he did say he was gona play in manchester nxt season he just forgot to say that it will be 4 chelsea against Man Utd in the league.... lol

Agree0 Disagree0

So by your judgement any player who chooses to ply 4 another team instead of man utd is only doing it 4 money ok mate get real

Agree0 Disagree0

United ARE the biggest club in England, and one of the biggest in the world. What im saying is, he knows he'll get first team football at United, and be a key player, and win trophies, but not necessarily as good wages that he'll get at Chelski or Citeh,so in this case, yes, its for the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

...or could be that he prefers to live in London as many foreigners do!

Briefly translated it says he has signed a 5 year deal at united!

Believable29 Unbelievable9

Nice hope its true but nothing from united to conferm this because if we have signed him we would be the 1st to announce it to prove that we can still buy with the best of them , it would be to good a show of power to pass up on so that being said i dont belive this artical sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you you think united would announce the siting while he's still playing for lille in the French cup final. Wake up mate!
The word

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is true just to prove the Glazers will back Fergie to buy the best and beat the rest but even if true hope it doesnt stop there we need more than Hazard to compete on all fronts. This however would be a good start to the summer business by signing the most sought after young player in world football ( after Neymar )

In an dream world I would love

Hazard
Kagawa
Pogba ( to sign with us not poxy Juve )
Hummels

Open the link using Google Chrome and you can translate it to English. It says the offer is 45 million for 5 years. It also says his first choice was Tottenham, but after speaking with Ferguson he chose United. Essentially he gets what he wants, both wages and playing time. Article also states...... The article says Munian was also a target, and that United had enquired about Asamoah, Kagawa, Cabaye and Van Persie.

I don't know how true any of it is btw. Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

The most telling words in this French article are "According to our information ....." and "According to an English source ...". This is no more accurate or definitive than the British press stories saying Hazars is going to Chelsea on £250k per week. We will have to wait a little longer for a decision, I fear. I still hope he choses MUFC rather than arab or russian blood money.

Grass is always greener yada yada... We have we a future Brazil RB in our team and still have fans complaining about him and now saying he wouldnt get into the Chelsea team (eye roll). Not a rumour just asking any eds about hernanes who plays for lazio quality player. How much you reckon he would cost and would lazio sell ? {Ed004's Note - I don't know how much he would cost but every player has his price and Lazio would sell for the right offer}

Believable10 Unbelievable1

He is wot we need strong both feet and creates a lot of openings.cheaper option and can't believe we havnt been linked with him

Agree0 Disagree0

I have mentioned him a few times mate. Have followed him for a few years. Last year we could of had a double signing of Vidal and Hernanes for not much more than 35m.

Hernanes has shown some good stuff again this year (although injury has hampered him quite a bit) and with Lazio finishing out of the CL spot its likely if he were to move it would be to a team in that comp.

While I am a big fan of his I do believe he is not as dynamic as we are looking to go unfortunately but around 20-25m would be my ball park figure.

Also good at set pieces.

Hey guys my farther is a friend of one of the executives for united and apparently we've made an approach for Lorente, weather or not it's a concrete approach or just to throw the press of our actually target.

Anyway he'd be a great signing

LUHG

Believable8 Unbelievable22

Llorente is 27 years old, the clubs transfer policy is not to buy anyone over the age of 26. So it's impossible it will happen

Nothing could be 'farther' from the truth

Agree0 Disagree0

How old was berba when we bought him? The 27 years "rule" is not a definite, right player right price, age won't matter!

So Jordi Alba won't be leaving Valencia, not that we were much in the hunt for him anyway! Lucio is apparently leaving Inter Milan, he is getting on a bit (34) but would be a fantastic addition to our defense! Likewise with Nathaniel Clyne, Crystal Palace are pretty much certain he'll be leaving the club and would be great as our right back...Clyne, Vidic, Lucio and Izaguirre...a great back line! Add to that Kagaga and Gaitan and develop this young kid Powell and you've got a world class team! Any thoughts ed? {Ed004's Note - I wouldnt want Lucio as he will just take up game time that the likes of Smalling and all need in the coming year}

Believable1 Unbelievable19

Lucio isn't all that great. Got enough old codgers clogging up the place.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'd replace rafael with some kid who has only ever played in a poor championship side , really don't understand all this clyne nonsense , if we're replacing rafael why buy when jones or smalling can play there or buy someone proven at a high standard

Agree0 Disagree0

I see Rafael as either wanting to move or being told to move after next season...Clyne is by no means inexperienced, hes 21 and has made 130 odd appearances for Crystal Palace, he could be a good replacement for Rafael if and when he goes. Smalling will most likely be needed in the center of defense and i personally dont rate Jones very highly at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally someone who doesnt rate jones. completely agree with you! Smalling is a lot better and i feel is not far from the finished article. Jones has potential but is sloppy on the ball and does not have any quality

Agree0 Disagree0

Inexperienced at a high standard, could care less how many games he's played fighting relegation in the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyne is talented and i think would really come into himself at the top level...of course he isnt going to be a first 11 all the time, but some good game time at the top level would mold him into a quality player! I think we do actually have some depth in defense with one or maybe two buys this summer...its midfield we need to concentrate on...other teams have been so much better at keeping the ball than us this season...we need a play maker who can really live up the creativity our midfield needs! Hazard would be perfect...Gaitan a very decent second choice

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree i think smalling is better than jones also. Although i think both of them are far better than Izaguirre. just shocked how many people rave about him when he's an average player in a very poor league. {Ed004's Note - Didnt he get that leagues player of the year playing at left back?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed...is baines completely out of the picture? {Ed004's Note - Nope}

Some of the United fan pages on facebook are saying that a press conference is to be held sometime today.

Eden Hazard is expected to reveal where he is going in the summer.

Do you think the press conference could be reveal that a deal has been done to see Hazard arrive at United in the summer? or is it a press conference to announce the signing of Powell? or could it be about Shinji Kagawa?

Believable19 Unbelievable14

I sincerely hope that this post, and all the other posts about Torres, are jokes! there is no need for him at OT...and the Torres of 3/4 years ago will never be seen again

Absoluetly.......as u see this guy just lacks confidence and SAF is the man who can pump that confidence back into him

From his interview I'd say more chance of retiring than moving clubs

A load of rubbish... has totally lost his bottle..even refused to take a penalty last night. No wher near the player he was.... we need a proven goalscorer not a guy that was good 3 years ago.

Torres at OT would be superb. Ifbwe get Kagawa, Hazardanda ball winning midfielder. The different styles and formations we could play would be unbelievable. Rooney up top,off the front man or free roaming. Would destroy teams even the blue noses.

Vicky

Believable8 Unbelievable15

I wish he goes ......his marking and defending is awful...............the 4-4 draw with everton exposed his weakness and his indiscipline can cost us a lot (remember the 2009/10 UCL quater final against bayern) {Ed004's Note - Tbf the match against Bayern the first yellow was extremely soft and should not have been given as he was fouled previously and it was not given. The second yellow was inexperience. Therefore because of two games you want to ship out a young, promising full back?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm fed up with people slating da silva , he'll be class in a year or 2 . People on here wanting to replace him with rubbish like clyne is unbelievable {Ed004's Note - I think Clyne should be brought in, however just to add competition for both full back slots...}

How much have people seen Kwadwo Asamoah play? Apparently he is very much likened to Ramires. And he would fit in with SAF's midfield philosophy in that he likes to pair a 'runner' with a 'passer'. Carrick, Cleverly or Scholes would be great passers for us and Asamoah would be a runner with a difference as he has a lot of finess as well as fitness. He has the legs of Ramires with a silky touch and a drive that gets him past players. He'd transform the midfield i think purely because of his energy. He also gets quite a few assists, in his first season he got 11.

Admittidly his shot ration lets him down, 1 goal every 15.7 shots, but the other parts of his game are good. He average 2.6 interceptions a game, only Carrick with 3.0 interceptions per game is better than Asamoah.

The main drawback is that he is Ghanain so he WILL go to the AFCON when its on. Historically SAF has tried to avoid players who have this commitment. BUT recently we have seen Chicharito go and represent Mexico so maybe it wouldn't be so much of a stumbling block for SAF. After all, it hasn't done Drogba any harm, has it?

RedDevil19

TM

Think he's a good option, more realistic than Martinez who to be honest i'm getting sick of hearing about. i get that he's a good player an would do an awesome job but there's as much chance as signing him as Susan Boyle has of winning FHM's top 100 sexiest in the world contest.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was good for Ghana in the last world cup, all really seen of him, big strong and full of energy, box to box player technically decent. Very much a Yaya Toure type of player, whether potentially in the same class though Ive no idea.

lets not build up so much expectation that hazard will join united. Because if he does not a lot of you will be so disappointed. Personally I think he will go to city for the money. The fact that he has taken so long decide means he is holding out for better offers...playing one club off another.

I hope we can get kagawa, strootman, lewandowski, and gaitan.

Nick Powell seems to be the replacement for pogba.

I would be happy with those signings.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Agree0 Disagree0

Powell has been compared to a Gerrard type player, though I've never seen him play

OP - I like your suggestions for signings, the first 3 particularly

To the guy who said we need 'world class' players...the point is all 4 of those names have the potential to become just that at United! For starters it is hard to sign already recognised 'world class' players these days due to the money of other clubs. But these 4 names will add to our starting XI from day one and will potentially go on to become 'world class' under our wing. Just because they're not called Ronaldo or Neymar or Hazard doesn't mean they're not very good

Man United have emerged as favourites for the signing of Eden Hazard.

The Lille star has been chased by the cream of European clubs all season, with Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly the favourites for his signature.

But talkSPORT understands that the Red Devils have become the Belgian’s preferred option.

The 21-year-old is worried about first-team opportunities at Man City and is unsure about the managerial situation at Chelsea, leaving Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in pole position.

It’s understood the two-times Ligue 1 Player of the Year will command wages of up to £200,000 a week.

A noble source from Old Trafford has said that they've given up on hazard as his salary is too high for Manchester utd and Chelsea now seem to be in pole position to capture the Belgium international after facing fierce competion from united but i still wouldn't rule out man city coming in with a late twist as the infamous powerhouse Yaya Toure has declared his love to join the Catalan giants Barcelona for a second spell. Also rumors of Aguero returning to Spain after only one season in England after speculation that higuain will be heading the other way if mourinho gets his way. Kagawa transfer from borrusia Dortmund should be completed in the next couple of days to man united as said in a press conference by his agent. And now Tottenham missing out on that vital fourth champions league spot there's now a lingering interest in bale and modric coming from Manchester utd, but united will have to fight of fierce competition from Madrid and Barcelona as mourinho is monitoring modric if they miss out on Chelsea wonder kid ramires and Barcelona has always thought highly of the welsh man bale, but i can see him being a left back at Barcelona or united because both clubs are battling over the signing of jordi Alba from Valencia. Finally Man united need strength in defense Subotic and Hummels is who they need to regain the premier league title as they seemed lackluster and out of shape without Nemanja Vidic.

- Expects both along with Chelsea to go for Van Persie if he decides to leave Arsenal
- doesn't mention Kagawa

Alaba, Kagawa, Gaitan would be a great move. I don't think spending 40 mil on Hazard at the sacrifice of filling important positions (LB and CAM) is worth it...sure he's a great player but we're going to need versatility in the coming years, not someone with fancy moves and probably a huge ego! Schweinsteiger would be a great buy but I can't see it happening. We've got goalscorers in Rooney, Hernandez and Welbeck...but we need to focus on supporting them (Gaitan and Kagawa). I reckon both Welbeck and Hernandez's goal tallies would increase a lot with some good experience behind them! Theo Walcott is my outside-chance favorite...i think he's a great player and having both himself and Young to choose from on the left side would be great and would probably improve both players with the added competition for the position. So lets leave Hazard and focus on good, versatile players who can get the job done all across the park! C'mon you reds!

Believable6 Unbelievable23

Hazard is versatile and his best position is CAM. Look into it more.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't think he's worth spending 40 mil on and limiting how many other players we can buy...i dont doubt that he's good, but i think there's players out there how can do more for the team as a whole! and also...meant to say Walcott challenging Valencia on the right and Kagawa challenging Young on the left...my mistake!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard and martinez in an ideal world would make us into world beaters !!

sparkyred {Ed004's Note - And a left back to replace Evra along with the signing of Kagawa and I agree 100%. The Kagawa and Izaguirre (my choice of left back) fees would be covered by player outgoings, also both would be on lower wages than Evra and Berbatov}

Agree0 Disagree0

So could we realistically afford Hazard, Kagawa, Alaba/Izaguirre and Martinez? Surely there has to be a sacrifice there somewhere (assuming the perfect world and we could get them all!) what do u think ed? {Ed004's Note - I would sacrifice Young. The money raised for him would cover Hazards fee, I would sell Evra and the money raised from him would cover Izaguirres fee and the money raised from Berbatov would cover Kagawa's fee, leaving us only having to cover Martinez fee}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed...any idea how much Martinez and Izaguirre are going for? And are they likely? {Ed004's Note - I would say Martinez around 30 million and Izaguirre under 10 million. I think Izaguirre is likely. There is nothing that even suggests we have any interest in Martinez}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a great idea , if only but bet we'll end up with some junk from the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah we already started the championship purge with Powell...yeah he's good but I sometimes question SAF and his eagerness to get young talent, make a big deal of them for a season, send them off on loan to get experience and when they come back all they want to do is leave again...maybe we should take a leaf out of some of our peers' books and seek those players with experience already, eve if we do pay a bit more for them...it's not as if many players would turn down the chance to play at Old Trafford!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather have a scarecrow at the club than Walcott

Agree0 Disagree0

Does everyone forget that hazard has said moving to england would be a stepping stone to spain let him gu to s**tty best place for him we want people hu wana play for us for life and not hold us to ransom with what wages he wants n they do one to spain after 2 decent seasons so were in same boat again as we r now

Congratulations to Chelsea, it seened to be destiny and I'm hoping to see a new Ferguson/Di Mateo rivalry. I'm also pleased that Spurs have missed out on the CL as it gives us more chance to sign Modric or maybe Bale if we are lucky. To be honest I'd rather have Bale than Modric, maybe we could mould him into an amazing left back for us.

Our first two signings of the window look to be done, Powell and Kagawa. I'm not expecting us to stop there though. A cheaper central midfielder seems to be a target like Asamoah, Strootman or Diame. Would love to see one of the first two come in. Then add a stellar signing like Bale, Muniain or Hazard and finally a young striker like Angelo Henriquez.

Powell is good value because if he turns out to be as good as people expect he will be worth 5 to 10 times his current price. If he turns out to be just OK, or even not that good then we would stand to only make a minimal loss, if any. From what people say about him though I cannot see him being a complete failure and being worth less than £4m in couple years (at the very least). So that's why he is great value

Pogba is out of contract which is why we will get compensation only. If he was under contract Juve would have to pay us a fee and United would have to accept it
