We've been reading for a couple of years that Bruno Gomes looks set to join United and now it appears he may go to Udinese. Any truth behind this? Not only has he appeared to be a natural goalscorer at every level he has played at but he has also appeared to be a big United fan so I don't understand how we could let this opportunity slip away.

"Udinese are set to sign Desportivo Brasil striker Bruno Gomes.

Gomes, 18, has spent the past two summers training with Manchester United thanks to their relationship with Desportivo Brasil.

But it appears United manager David Moyes have decided to pass on the exciting striker talent.

Instead, Lance! says Udinese are this week in advanced talks about signing Gomes for €8 million."

{Ed002's Note - This may well drag on. Gomes has previously stated that he wishes to move to Italy and Juventus and Udinese have both held talks with his club. Manchester United hold part ownership of the player and were looking to make a decision next summer as I understand it.}

Gomes said on more than 1 occasion that he is eager to work hard and move to MAnchester Utd in the last couple of years. But we are looking very well stocked in first teamers and youth players in the striking department so i'm not too fussed

As Ed02 states it will carryon till the Summer. The player was actively tweeting his love for United, but early this Summer he suggested his dream may not happen. I'm not 100 per cent sure, but I think it's may be to do with his passport/visa situation. An attempt to get an Italian passport failed, his move to Italy may be a stepping stone to Old Trafford - but that's just speculation on my part. He hasn't yet played a senior game for Desportivo Brasil yet.

The lad is obviously a talent and it would be silly not to try and bring him in. If he doesn't work out then so be it but on sheer talent alone, we should be bringing him and seeing how he integrates at the club. There's nothing to say we couldn't send the lad out on loan if needs be. I certainly think that, from what I have seen, he has more potential as a goal scorer than Henriquez.

Apparently we united have 50 percent ownership. I presume it has a value and a value would have to be agreed with united. Ed/anyone if it is say as a limited company and say someone else has 50 percent does that make it tricky? Is it just 50 percent of value? Or would we have a share which can have involvement in what is decided? I'm guessing there are several parties involved though percentage wise.

{Ed002's Note - It is a simple part ownership deal that could also stay in place if he moved to Italy - although I suspect if that were to happen then Manchester United would look to sell their interest in the player. It provides no real consideration in terms of what is decided with his future.}

So we get cash if he moves to Italy or we can get him ourselves. Really likeable lad but given how many promising young strikers we have I'm not bothered if we don't get him. Win win situation in my eyes.

I did not realize we had part ownership in players. Do we have ownership in other players or is this a one off? {Ed002's Note - It has happened (Bebe) before but he is the only one I am aware of right now.}

Gee
I hope Gomes turns out better than bebe LOL

Ed do we have a 50% stake in any other Desportivo Brasil players like Evangelista (now at Sao Paulo), Aguilar, Agnaldo etc? {Ed002's Note - See above.}

Ed do you know the situation with Piotr Zielinski? Would he be available in January or next summer? {Ed044's Note - I am told by another Ed that Manchester City are interested but Udinese will not want to sell in January.}

Hope we go for him. He'll be one hell of a player.
