Deals being negotiated:

Leighton Baines transfer to United including Zeki Fryers and Will Keane on loan to Everton which will be reviewed end of December 2012 season. United to pay their wages for this period.
If Everton take up the option to retain either or both players until end of 2012/13 season, Everton will pay players post December wages.

United will also have first option on Ross Barkley for the 2013/14 season at a pre-determined fee.

David Petrucci to go on loan to Reading for initial 6 months for 2012/13 season.

Believable10 Unbelievable26

Bulls**t Everton would never let Baines go in exchange for 2 completely unknown players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds plausible apart from Everton having an option to sign Keane and Fryers permanently, we would never allow that, Keane especially is one of the most exciting young talents coming through - we would not let him go that easily.

Just a quick question. If Pogba were to sign a new contract, do you think it would be better for him to stay around the first team squad or go out on loan to somewhere where he will be played constantly ?
buzz

Believable13 Unbelievable2

He should definately be in the team. He has the ability to have a big impact on our first team just like Wilshere had for Arsenal last year. He really is that good. I just hope he signs soon and recovers well from his injury ready for next season. Trust me if he gets his chance next year everyone in the world will sit up and be singing his praises.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's definitely ready for the first team , so I would keep him at old trafford.

CnM

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny but if he really was that good as what some people are trying to say I'm sure he would have had a lot more under his belt in the 1st team already,he is 19 after all, didn't fagregas and rooney make their break through ar 16?don't get me wrong he might be a good player but reserve games are very different to the 1st team.if he was going to be the the next big thing he would be in the team already,I'd send him on loan and see how he gets on.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think at the age 18-19 you know whever or not a player will be any good and pogba looks special and saf motto is if your good enough your old enough pogba should realise this and get signed up because i think he will get plenty of games next season

Agree0 Disagree0

'No name'

Players mature at different ages Rooney played like a 25 year old at 16 he was quality, but then you look at cantona and ruud van nistelroy who didnt 'break through' til later on, but what all players showed at some age was the potential and pogba has bags of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still say he will leave wait and see, I have said this all along

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

If he stays then I suspect he will be a regular in the first team next season anyway.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact the player appears inpatient to sign a new contract as he wants to make an impact on the first team would make it highly unlikely that he signs a contract and then goes out on loan, I would expect he either inadvisedly leaves the club or stays and is fighting for the midfield slot more regularly next season
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he want to sign a contract to then be loaned out? or he could sign for Juventus and play in their first team

Reserve Player of the season - Larnell Cole

Goal Of The season - Nani Vs City, quality team goal.

Who did you guys vote for?

p.s - Tomorrow vs Everton I can see Nani really coming into form and winning us the game.

I'll go for a 1-0 win and Nani to score it.

Was watching Swansea yet again today. Joe allen is such a good player, very similar to Scholes but a little bit faster and not the same class of passing. He runs the show, creative and has that little bite that can disrupt an opposition midfield. He's only 21 (I think) and has a mountain of potential. Maybe a formation like this:

_______De Gea______
Rafael_Evans_Vidic_Evra
_Allen_Cleverley_Pogba_
__Nani_Rooney_Young__

Wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and has a huge amount of creativity and also all midfielders defend well, they all close down brilliantly. With a solid defence behind and a brilliant attack in front our team would be great. No doubt I'll get some stick for suggesting someone who isn't a superstar but, people who watch Swansea will know how good he is.

Percy

Believable13 Unbelievable15

Carrick was bloody brilliant for Tottenham before he joined us. He hasn't been anything special for us. That's the difference in level between the likes of Swansea and United

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather see Petrucci get his chance before bringing someone of Allens standard. If we are to bring someone in they need to be an existing world class player because at the moment we lack the fear factor.

Your team included Nani and You g but not Valencia which is poor. Nani must be due a good game soon maybe even today but to select him over Valencia is not right
Finally where are our goals coming from and what happens if Rooney picks up an injury?

We need a world class striker to play with Rooney and take the pressure off him. We also need a left footed player to give us balance. It is ridiculous to watch free kicks where our only option is right footed. We need a left footed player in place of young and nani with Valencia on the right

Young is predictable in that he cuts back to his right foot nearly all the time and makes it difficult for the forwards to time their runs

Red Man

M8 that team would be lucky to stay in the priemer league

With regards to the latest Pogba news - it appears to be good news. An agreement with his agent means it's now down to himself and judging by some of his interviews, if telling the truth, he should sign for us. Mind you, if he doesn't want to sign then I don't want him anyway.
According to the MEN they say he may sign as early as next week. Not sure whether that is speculation or from a reliable resource.

Does any ED have an update in regards to this?

Cheers, Rudderpost.

Ed with the big transfer sagas likely to revolve around Cavani, Hazard etc do you think SAF could go off radar and pick up Falcao? Failing that I would like to see Mario Gomez from Bayern but that seems unlikely.

I know that he was watched during his River Plate days but would be a fantastic striker for Rooney to play off. Also I think Ever Banega and James Rodrigez would be great signings without breaking the bank.

I think all 3 could be bought for £50 Million plus sales.

Ed, Syd what do you think?

Adz {Ed004's Note - I wouldn't want Falcao. I don't know why people keep suggesting big strikers as we are getting rid of Berbatov to quicken the team up, so why slow it down by buying a slow striker?}

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Didnt athletico pay about 30 mill for falcao?? so i dont think he'd be cheap! id rather have higuain for less than 30 million!
duggo

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with Ed004, don't know why people love these big target men so much? It's never been the way united play and I wouldn't want us to try and suddenly change our style completely to incorporate them... In all honesty it's probably why Andy Carroll has failed so horrifically at Liverpool. Fast, wide, counter-attacking play is the United way.

APC

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know why people think Falco is just a big target man he is 5 foot 10. Yes he scores a lot with his head but he also scores other types of goals too. He is possible the most accurate forward in Europe at the minute and with the likes of Toni v and young whipping balls in the box he has the pace to get on the end of them.

Would 50mill and maybe some players be sufficient in a combined bid for both Sahin and Ozil?

Yellowcar {Ed002's Note - Why would Real Madrid want "some players" from Manchester United?}

Believable0 Unbelievable30

In fairness Ed they could well want Nani and Vidic although I know the point you're making and I disagree with the original poster.

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think £20m+ Nani would be enough for sahin and ozil but I can't see it happening nor will it

Anon

Agree0 Disagree0

Was only a thought, could cleverly or Pogba ever potentially be 'Real Madrid' quality?

Yellowcar

Agree0 Disagree0

Just can't see RM selling any of their players especially to us! Also since when would United want to be held ransom to a big club like RM? When we could look for younger, cheaper talent elsewhere which is what we tend to do if you pay attention! It's likely we'll only pay big money for players proven in the PL. For example - Berbatov, Rooney, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Carrick.. If we look outside the PL its rare we spend/risk a lot of £££ (Chicharito - bargain). After buying Anderson from Porto for.. what about £16m? undisclosed and that didn't really work out! Maybe this summer could be different after Gill's comments the other day but i can't imagine it.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh I cn see it now carrick an ando in madrid shirts lmaooo stupidest question iv eared in a while Rooney an vidic being the only 2 players able to get in the team an tht a maybe {Ed004's Note - I think Valencia would get in ahead of Di Maria, same with Nani. I also do not rate Khedira highly and would have Carrick and Cleverley before him}

Agree0 Disagree0

On this performance they will not sell ozil...

he is not only playing as he normally does, but boy his he also putting in a shift....

Eds, a lot of people on the site talking about Ozil potentially coming in. I'm not sure if there is any truth in these rumours, but do you know if Ozil is available this summer for the right price?

#ags {Ed002's Note - I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but Liverpool and Manchester United may well be interested if he is - but Champions League qualification being achieved may be a pre-requisite for any move he makes. I am sure that there would be plenty of interest from elsewhere, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.}

Hey ed's,sorry for being annoying i just have a few questions.i know there are lots of rumours in the papers its what we all enjoy but is there anymore news on hazard or strootman?i get the feeling we could sign strootman as i think martinez unfortunatly could be out of reach.i also get the feeling that saf will try to sign a player from bilbao maybe de marcos or hererra.i think clyne is nearly done i just want to know what ye think of the possibilities of strootman(an energetic box to box mid wit pace and great finishing) coming along with clyne and 1 more maybe muinain or hazard?plz not gaitain.thanks and sorry again. {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new that I am aware of. Anything beyond what I have explained for each of these already would be guesswork.}

With fergie saying pogba will be a 1st team player. I guess we won't be getting a new midfielder. A creative attacker we will sign ozil/hazard

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Pogba hasn't signed a contract yet so i feel its more than likely there will at least 2 midfield additions depending on Fletcher, if Scholes stays on for another season and if we sell any midfielders.

There will prob be 100 players linked with Utd leading upto the summer, Fergie always plays the curve ball, it was years back he's in san siro to watch Nesta couple weeks lata Rio had signed, even last year Rene the dutch coach interview yes we are after the Ajax keeper!couple of weeks later De Gea announced!..the Edin Hazard thing narh he's playin a game there&Rene again interview in dutch press!there nobody stayin talking to press without Fergie knowing!it maybe make spurs push quick for Hazard to then release Modric! Its Fergie we sign who you don't expect, Gaitan, hazard shant be happening

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Really good point that. clever that Sir Alex guy haha

Good point, but Rene was also talking about sneijder last summer saying he was exactly the type of player we needed...and from the looks of things we were trying to sign him.

But i recon ur right, hazard will probably end up at tottenham with modric coming our way
