I wondered what people's opinions are of Adam Maher from Psv looked really good against Milan yesterday and really young, possibly one for the future?

Redknight99

Believable7 Unbelievable16

There a quite a few of their team who look like very good prospects - Maher and Bakkali being the best of the bunch.

He's an excellent young talent, i've seen him a few times. He reminds me abit of a young Scholes. His vision, passing and movement into the box. Obviously he has a long way to go before he can be compared to the Ginger prince, but there are shades of him there.

He's definately one to keep an eye on.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's just from AZ to PSV

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt it given the fact that he was only bought this year on July 1st, but who knows, for right price they may sell him.
RDG

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a great little player but not sure ready for the PL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv heard that tottenham are very intrested in bakkali but nothing about maher. both great young players tho. some good talent from belgium again with bakkali

Couple of sites saying interest has
turned to Luke Shaw.
Younger than Baines.
Baines not too far behind Evra age wise
so money Everton are looking for is
a bit high.
Still at this stage I expect we will be
linked to everyone and anyone.

Believable24 Unbelievable21

Hasn't Shaw just signed a new deal?

Agree1 Disagree0

Is there only me who wants to give fabio a crack at it. He was considered the better of the twins when they arrived so if he managed to reach the heights of rafeal we'd be sorted for a long time for full backs

19JackC94

Agree9 Disagree1

Fabio looks almost as good, or at least not far behind Rafael when he plays on the right but never looks as comfortable and composed on the left. Would love to have Fabio as good on the left as Rafa is on the right that would be immense.

Ozwald

Agree4 Disagree0

Yes, just signed 4 year deal which finally shut up the Chelsea fans. Don't know how many times both the player and our Chairman have to say he's not leaving before the penny drops with some people. I'm as certain that Shaw will not be sold as I am that United will not be relegated!
SaintGazza

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton fan here, Shaw signed a 5 year deal on his 18th bday 2 weeks ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Take it from me we wnt sign anyone and be lucky to finish in top 4 we need 2 midfielders that's a must

Agree2 Disagree6

Fireman10, how can you say we will struggle to finish in the top 4!
I know a lot of teams have bought players and improved their squads but how many have really improved their 1st 11. Other than spurs I would say nobody in the top 4, and spurs will be without Bales production this season (26 goals, numerous assists) which any team would miss.
Quit being so negative and get behind your team. We have a ton of good young players coming through and a new quality coach.
Utd will challenge for the title

Agree6 Disagree1

Agree with fireman10 on this one, I ave said before we won't sign anyone, it's almost like the board don't want to trust DM spending aload of £££££££s and are waiting to get a season out the way.obviously that's extremely unlikely but does seem strange

Alman

Agree1 Disagree4

Alman would that be the same board who elected to recruit DM to replace SAF we are only interested in signing players that will improve the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Did say it was unlikely. Just that's how it appears, and yeah the did elect him but they had to elect someone. And under what terms do we know?

Agree0 Disagree1

Ozwalds got it spot on that Fabio plays best as right back. I think he is right footed and if i'm right it would make sense as then playing on the right means it is more natural when tackling/crossing etc. I know that most players should be able to use both feet but their is sometimes a marked difference in quality (I.e Ashley young/beckham/valencia etc are so much better using their right foot instead of left)

United likely to sign Gabriel Fernando 16 y.o. from City he refused a deal and is training with United

Believable46 Unbelievable8

City's youth see there is no way they're getting a chance in the 1st team. Anytime we put one over on that lot I'm a happy man.

Agree5 Disagree1

Anyone know anything about him?

19JackC94

Agree0 Disagree0

Left footed attacking midfielder from Brazil. He has a Portuguese passport though from his fathers side I beleive, which means he can play in the UK before hitting 18.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

He is highly regarded, that's all I can tell you about him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you hear the drums Fernando?

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't be that highly regarded if City let him go.Picking up City's scraps now eh, the future looks wonderful!.

Agree1 Disagree0

City did not let him go. He refused to stay!

Agree1 Disagree0

No name poster who said about city scraps if you read the post you will see he refused a deal with city and was not released. Therefore its hardly scraps and he may have signed for us and not city for a host of reasons. By your reckoning giggs would have been city scraps and if this kid turns out to be anything like him then bring forth the scraps

Agree1 Disagree0

No Name

He wasn't let go they wanted to keep him he said himself he refused to sign with them

Ronaldo and Eto'o to fill the 7 and 9 shirts respectively? Seems possible to me if Rooney leaves
I see strikers in a similar mould to each other in Welbeck and Eto'o and I think Welbeck could learn a hell of a lot about his end product from Eto'o what do you think?

Believable26 Unbelievable51

There is no way we would pay Eto'o wage demands

Agree0 Disagree0

What would Eto'o teach Welbeck that RVP, Rooney and Owen cannot?

Agree0 Disagree2

If he lowers his wage demands. He is still quality, quick and would score plenty at Utd

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen?! C'mon Mumbai_boy! Is Mumbai really that far behind in the news?! ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

Eto is class and would do a great job like Larrson did in the twilight of his years and he is the perfect fit won't get in the way of young players like Keane and Wilson for to long as he prob only has two seasons at this level left and he could teach Danny a trick or two Katef

Hey guys my source has again told me some very good news regarding rooney, if you remember back when roooney wanted to leave I said my source said he was staying as the meeting went well.

And a few days later rooney signed a new contract.

Also my source was correct about rvp signing days before anyone else gt a word of it.

Yet again my source has said a meeting between rooney and his representitives and moyes has took place.

hes said rooney wants to stay and everything has been cleared up.

Expect to hear this news within the next few days, my source says he expects this to be announced before the chelsea game.

my source has been correct on the past 2 posts I've made.

Opinions welcome guys.

Who's your sauce HP or Daddy's?

Your just one of many who come on posting about having a reliable sauce. it's boring now.

Funny as searching your name for past posts on here brings up twaddle like Fergie meeting De Rossi possibly, Rooney about to jump ship possibly, the possibility of us signing Gordon from Sunderland etc etc

Im not botherd when it comes to the annoucment of rooney staying I hopw your man enough to say sorry.

And my source is very high up on the board and has been for many years but of course i'm not going to say who.

Ahh, the implied 'I'm a calm adult and you're all excitable kids' post

Agree0 Disagree1

Let’s not be so negative all of the time. I’m sure we will sign players. Did we not win the league last year? Have we made a nice start to the season? Do we not have a few players coming through the ranks? Are people saying Moyes out before he’s had a chance?. Yes I agree that we need a ball winning defensive midfielder – But it seems we are moving towards a 433 formation. Things are not as bad as people are making out – I can still remember big Ron in his cream suit and having won nothing for years. Stop being so miserable people.

Walker77

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney will stay but I don't think he wants to. As long as RVPs here and he's not the main man, he won't want to stay.

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

How many times are we going to let rooney hold us to ransom - what next more money to stay like last time

Agree0 Disagree0

Man enough to say sorry. What? Considering the morning your post was put on the site the players had all been for a meal for group bonding and Rooney has made a substitute appearance, him stayin gor not good be guess work. Whether or not there is any credence in your "source" is irrelavant, I have no reason to apologise. You said search my last two posts and signed off in a name that has a load of twaddle in past posts, how am I supposed to know your "other name" which I haven't bothered to search by the way.

So United have pinched a youngster from City. Gabriel Fernando is a highly regarded 16 year old CAM originally from Sporting Lisbon. Was offered scholarship from City, but has been training with us all week and snubbed them. Youngsters can clearly see that they are never going to get senior game time at City. That's why their highly rated Denis Suarez wants out too.

Buttner looks set to move to Besiktas. Not sure if it's a loan to buy or just a loan. Benfica were also interested.

Scott Wootton has joined Leeds which is a good move for him. Deal apparently worth £1m. Good luck to him.

Plenty of clubs trying to get Larnell Cole and Nick Powell on loan. Wigan would be a good move for Powell.

Adnan is about to sign a new five year deal according to the media. That is something I am desperate to see happen after missing out on Pogba.

Seems PSG are back in for Nani. Injured at the moment, but I am sure the club would consider a bid in the region of £12m-£15m. I think £8.5m is ridiculous and would rather let him leave for free next summer.

Sydney!

Believable27 Unbelievable9

If buttner is leaving does that mean evra is staying even if we do sign a lb
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

But how many youngsters really break through at our club?

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Around one or two a season?

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be as rediculous as Utd offering £28 million for Fellaini and Baines?

The Irish Rover

Agree0 Disagree3

I said some time ago that I can see Evra and Buttner/Fabio being sold with Baines coming in. I think it will be very difficult to accommodate both Evra & Baines, but not impossible. I think the club will want to sell Evra if Baines is bought, but it would be difficult if no one wanted Evra. He will be cheap, but his salary is high. Not sure what will happen, but it's clear Moyes wants Baines after bidding for him twice already.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good info Syd. I am a great admirer of Powell and hope the loan does him even more good than it did Cleverly.
Melwing, I think quite enough young players break through at utd. It may depend on what we mean by young and break through, but welbeck, cleverly, evans, fabio and rafael.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Buttner's agent is telling the truth (don't see why he'd lie) then any move away from the club at the moment would be a loan so he can get playing time with a chance to play for Netherlands in the WC. Moyes told him a sale is completely not an option.

Nick Powell looks set to go on loan to Wigan IMO, championship football regularly is exactly what he needs but when is he actually fully fit?!

I hope we give Adnan a good chance to play in the first team this season.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd but you have been going on about evra leaving for a couple of years now and yet he's still here.
you would think if we sign baines ( not sure we will) evra would leave however it's looking that buttner could be the one to go .
Evra is vice captain seems to be a big voice in the dressing room not sure the club do want to sell him to be honest.
I also don't think we will get rid of both buttner and evra
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to realise that you can't bring through a group of players such as Scholes, Beckham, Neville, Giggs etc every generation.

I think Powell going on loan will be good, and it shows that Moyes is making room for a new signing. Looks like it's Fellaini or Moric.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have only said I believe Evra will be sold if we bought Baines. I believe if we had bought Baines last summer then Evra would have been sold. If we sign Baines this summer I think Evra will be sold. I cannot see them both being in the same squad. That is my opinion.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Good info frm Syd but Guys what has happened to the (gems) players on clear out at R/Madrid has it died out

Agree0 Disagree1

All this info is from the media. Just putting in a nutshell.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

But Nani will dig his heels in. He seems determined to stay.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan, he seems determined to run his contract down. Cannot believe we could have collected €27m for him this time last summer.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

We couldn't have collected that Sydney because he didn't want to move to Russia.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know, that's my point :(

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think that if buttner does go it will most prob be a loan, and that we won't be going for baines again. I think who ever comes in will be young and be back up for evra for a year (when evra will most likely return to france) before fighting with buttner for the lb spot, I don't think fabio is good enough there. my picks for lb would therefore be willems or preferably shaw who could pick up for 10m

as for powell, it does seem wigan are in for him but I would not rule out him being used as part of a deal to get fellaini, although personally I think a move to newcastle could be the most benificial esp with cabaye leaving (and yes I do realise they don't play the same role)

as for nani, anyone who has read any of my previous posts will know I can't stand the guy, like rooney, he ruins a lot of good build up with either poor decision making or losing the ball, and I firmly believe we should sell both of them

Rooney Update

Rooney is staying. Talks have taken place between Moyes, Rooney and Paul Stretford regarding his future.

The uncertainty came when Fergie claimed he had handed in a transfer request which has been denied. It seems Moyes understands that it should not have gone public, however it did.

Moyes has confirmed that he has every intention to use Rooney as a central striker and is willing to play RVP, Welbz and Roo as a front three (at times)

Last night the players (and wives) attended a team bonding meal, and the atmosphere was great (Roo attended with Coleen).

Saturday was a pivotal day in teh saga as rooney had expected to be given grief by the travelling support however was delighted to get an ovation.

Please let this be an end to all Rooney goes and Rooney stays talk.

Believable44 Unbelievable13

All though I don't believe a word your saying i'm praying that this is true.

Thanks but I will wait for an official club statement from both the manager and the player. He certainly didn't look happy at the despite the fans reaction and support. MrE

Agree0 Disagree0

Loved the thread (if proven to be true), only time will tell. No offence meant. Thanks Anyway.

If I was Rooney I would have been awaiting a fans backlash at the game. It didn't happen. However he did himself no favours by staying aloof from the goal celebrations.
As for Team bonding meals etc, that's ok but he must been seen to be a team player again.

Still believe that we WILL sell, but WHEN is the main question and to whom.

Wait for the SUN Headline of "CAN GO ROO" if he leaves.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you no that?

Agree0 Disagree0

But it's true Rooney attended with Coleen for the player's bonding meal. This hardly means Rooney won't leave. he's at a war with United management and not the players or moyes.

However he might stay depending on the response he gets from home fans against Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

Well its true about the players bonding session so can't see why this new isn't true. Rooney is loved by the United fans as long as he is happy to stay playing for us. let's hope this is true and let's carry on winning things Wayne :)

Agree0 Disagree0

The only person he was at war with was Fergie due to the fact he decided not to play him in the big important games.
Rooney is football through and through, all he wants to do is play and play every game.
To be dumped as a sub against Real would of hurt his pride and I for one did not agree with Fergies decision.
It was like Fergie was trying to provoke a reaction from him towards the end of the season by leaving him out, maybe it was Fergies leaving present to rooney for the transfer request two seasons ago, who knows.
I rather think Fergie stitched him up big time at the last game of the season where he blurted out that "Rooney has asked for a transfer".
With Fergie doing that it has also made David Moyes job twice as hard, as if he didn't have enough to deal with on top of the Rooney saga.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are trying their best to unsettle Wayne, yet refuse to offer his market price. Rumour in the press today is that Jose is going to offer a third bid - 27 or 28 million depending on which paper or site you choose. I don't think United should sell him to Chelsea, except if they offer us Mata. Everyone says"our 28 million bid for Fellaini and Baines was stupidly low"

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope you are correct, Rooney was hung out to dry by Fergie.

I think it was a parting shot in relation to 2010 and Rooney asking to go.

Rooney is played all over the place and never complains, he is class despite what people write on here.

Ask yourself this and answer honestly, would you like to see him in a Chelsea shirt? Whoever we get it should not mean the end of Rooney as a red.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney is leaving end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Saf was right to not play rooney against real, it was a tactical decision and welbeck played a blinder! we lost because madrid reacted/ subbed better after the sending off, modric coming on changed everything for madrid.
not only do I think utd will sell rooney but I think it is the right choice, we would be a far more fluent team without him, kagawa would take his spot so any monies should go into getting a winger come forward for the left, willian would have been good but I suppose a certain mr ronaldo would also do lol

A lot of reports that United will look at Shaw if the baines bid fails.
Personally I think it should be the other way round

Believable29 Unbelievable8

I agree Jred, it should be the other way round, but it's not going to happen sadly. Shaw is destined to replace Cole at Chelsea.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree completely.Could be our left back for the next ten years.Probably cheaper than Baines and he is ready now.You could always rest him for Fabio or Buttner too due to his age.Lets get some youngsters playing again, some excitement.Don't send Januzaj on loan, ditto Powell, play them and Zaha too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see why we're being linked with Shaw as he is an outstanding talent but, like Syd!, I expect him to go to Chelsea in 1/2 years time. They had a £4 million (+ add ons) deal rejected in the January transfer window and that was before he signed a long term deal at Southampton so he won't be cheap, £15-20 million IMO in a couple of years time.

Baines is a decent full back but he's not exactly young and, like Evra, is great going forward but suspect defensively.

Would he be a massive improvement? I would say not really especially when you take into consideration Evra's personality both on and off the pitch.

On the pitch he comes across as a leader, of which we don't have many and off the pitch you never hear of any trouble coming from his personal life such as wild nights out, hookers etc. that may disrupt a team.

Add to that that Baines isn't much younger (29), so I think we should be looking at alternatives.

However, if we were to bring Baines in I definitely wouldn't see it as a step backwards but I wouldn't see it as a step forwards either.

#ags

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I really like look of them kids, give them game time and learn from the best than sending them out to silly teams

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Shaw has a buyout- clause in his new contract for around £10 million so I think he def be worth it considering his age and he could an understudy to Evra for the next year as I couldn't see baines moving and sitting on the bench for most of the season

Moose

Agree0 Disagree0

Buyout clause of £10M! Sorry Moose but you obviously have absolutely nil knowledge of our chairman and not much more about Luke who's been with us since age 7.
