Total rubbish. We don't need another striker. It's evident from what moyes been saying that we will only play with one up front next season and kagawa in role behind. Even if Rooney left, we still got Hernandez and wellbeck as cover behind RVP. Main priority is to beef up midfield with creativity.

Guys,

I have not submitted a rumour for a few month, but read the site a few times a day. Little rumour I have heard is we will switch to alonso if fabregas does not come off. I have a good friend that lives in Madrid, and this has been doing the rounds over there for 24 hours. Don't shoot the messenger. Hope cesc is successful, but alonso wouldn't be a bad buy in my opinion!

Don't know if we would go for alonso but hey! Things been so weird this transfer window won't be suprise if we do but we will see. I don't think he would be that bad as he can really state his presence in a midfield but I'd rather go for a couple other midfielders than alonso

Alonso is still a class player, would love to see him at United. Would have preferred him a few years ago to be honest. Fabregas would be my first choice out of the two due to Alonso's age, but I wouldn't say no to him. By far Liverpool's biggest mistake was to let him go

Alonso is a totally different kind of midfielder to Cesc. He's a deep laying play-maker, pretty much similar in style to Carrick. Whereas it would be good to buy 2 midfielders, an attacking one and a ball winner, I can't see any advantage in buying a player nearing his 32nd birthday.

Age is just a number. Alonso doesn't rely on pace and could easily have another 5 years in him. He would no doubt improve our squad - decent passer but doesn't mind getting stuck in too.

However I don't know about him being an alternative to Cesc, both would be ideal.

Madrid can't afford him unless they raise the funds and with CR7 just being offered a new contract that won't be easy to do Bale will be a Spurs player this season unless United go in for him.

My personal opinion is I think there's a good chance Bale will go this summer. Who too is another story, but I have a feeling he will go this year. As for wether he's worth that sum of money, maybe he is in today's market? We've seen Falcao, cavani etc moving for £50m ish, so at Bales age maybe he is. You have to think of they're marketing power to these clubs, they can make millions

How exactly can't Real Madrid afford that. Their revenue from tv rights alone is circa £120m a season, never mind their commercial activities. If they want Bale they can afford him.

Bale is playing through the middle for spurs, chadli was bought as a lw. Bale will be a spurs player this season 100% no matter who puts in a offer. Do you really think FIFA would've put him on the cover and promoted thier game with Bale in a spurs shirt if there wasn't assurances he would be staying at spurs?

So its now a video game that decides he stays. So if spurs receive an offer for 100m levy will turn round and say we could really do a lot with that money but we told ea that he's staying sorry.

Dont forget a few years back when Rooney had his hair transplant EA recalled every copy just to re adjust his hair so a shirt change wouldn't be too big for them

Are we in for Shaqiri? I have not read this anywhere. As for Modric, the focus is on Fabregas for the time being. If that falls through then we will pursue Modric.

Shaqiri is very very unlikely even IF we were interested. He only joined Bayern a year ago, he's Robben's replacement doubt he'd want to leave anytime soon especially with the squad Pep is building there.
