The papers are going to run with the stories of Lukaku being the mystery striker. Also are reporting that Madrid are willing to do sell Ramos for De Gea.

Interesting if true.

De Gea will stay, Ramos will too. Its been going on for to long now.

Also if yes, please send me your predictions for the coming season and Saturdays lotto numbers would be good too.

Ive been thinking/hoping/dreaming about this today :)

We have spoken to Real about it for the last 3 seasons reportedly so while it is 100 % wishful thinking it nay not be that crazy

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Jul 2015 22:15:55
I agree, just hope its not a short term succes strategy by LVG. Only 2 years left on his contract. We've gone for youth and for the long term in the past which worked. Ask AF.

If its affordable, fine. Hope there is a strategy for the future in place.

If any of the Eds are around could you give your opinion this?

I was reading something the other day that said Ronaldo had sold his image rights to a third party. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't Real Madrid take the image rights of the players and that's why they pay astronomical wages? This reportedly came from the agent of Iker Casillas. He said the rights had been sold to the owner of Valencia.

Would you read to much into this or is it a case of the agent kicking up a bit of a dust?

IMO I think he needs to feel loved again. Come home Ronny!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Peter Lim is dodgier than a bag of monkeys wearing ski-masks,, remember the BBC documentary about Bryan Robson? I have no idea why Ronaldo has sold him his image rights, it's definitely odd.}

22 Jul 2015 12:37:17
Don't need Ronaldo , he is past his sell by date from now on he will start to go rotten. It's sad to think that he will fit in at Utd again, he just won't and he will have to play every match too, something he hasn't done for years.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha this page has all of a sudden developed another 100 names since Van Gaal's words.

I saw a rumour that ours and City's representatives were speaking to Otamendi and Valencia over the weekend and that he favours a move to City over us. Not saying a believe the rumour but I would be upset if it does turn out to be true.

The Hunterlaar link is a non starter. He is the same age as RVP so why would we get rid of one and bring in another. A good player but so was Robin.

Robben could happen. If he could stay fit that is. The only reason Bayern would want to sell him is if they know he is not going to be fit enough to play more than 20 games a season as he still has a bit to offer. Maybe Van Gaal would take a chance.

Lewandowski seems the clear fan Favourite just ahead of Muller but I can't see us ending up with any of them and I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them end up at Madrid if they are going to go anywhere.

Pedro, he is a good player but not one that should be a priority. That said I don't exactly count him as a reject because he is behind Neymar and Messi in the pecking order. Would rather look elsewhere first.

De Gea will stay for this last year, I am convinced of that now.

Di Maria won't be going anywhere until next summer. We will see how he does this season then we will see where he stands but you don't spend 60m on a player and get rid instantly. If we do I won't be happy.

As for players like Berahino it would not be a good move for anyone like that. He is a young developing player and to come to us and play second fiddle won't help him at all, same for most strikers under Rooney. If we are to sign a striker it would have to be someone who is good enough to think about dropping Rooney for.

We don't need any more midfielders and I am over the moon with the players we have brought in so far but until we get that CB in I won't be resting easy. Our team at the moment is maybe an 8/10. Bringing in Otamendi and a fit Robben could make it a 10.

We may not even need another forward if Januzaj can play to his potential but we defiantly need a CB.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

21 Jul 2015 17:02:58
I still see it being a wide forward that can play through the middle.

This rules out Cavani, Lewandowski and Benzema.

However, still in the running would be Lacazette, Griezmann and Reus.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Jul 2015 17:59:40
I seem to recall that Berahino was at OT with his agent for one game last season and a picture appeared in the paper. Would not spread fear in the opposition though.

How old is Tevez?

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 18:23:07
I think by 'not the striker in the media' LVG means not a striker at all - biggest surprise and best signing possible - de Gea.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 18:26:01
I find it strange that philip lahm is coming out and saying he can't guarantee muller won't be at bayern next year all is definitely not well with muller and guardiola I reckon were definitely after him but we have got the back up plan if we don't get him I would be very happy with pedro he would be perfect for that wide forward position

Agree0 Disagree2

21 Jul 2015 18:42:34
Eh nothing at all apparently. Just seen he's gone back to the Boca's. Haha.
Where is the delete post button? Hmmm. does'nt seem to be one.

I'll go for Bayerns Gotze instead then.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 18:43:37
said it for a while now but for various reasons i think berahino would be a good signing

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jul 2015 19:01:12
Jred, he could be a good player but the move doesn't make sense for him. He won't play enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 19:23:53
1red
and when has that stopped a young player moving to a big club.
i also think he would get a good few games

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jul 2015 20:11:51
I agree jred he would be a good signing for us but I don't think we are right for him at the moment. We struggle to give Wilson game time and we can't drop Rooney for Berahino so he would be limited. At Spurs or Southampton he would be good.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2015 08:38:59
Comments from LVG this morning 'a striker is not the surprise' What did I tell you!! My money is on a new contract for de Gea.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jul 2015 12:12:49
Utd don't need strikers they need quality defenders, if they want to do well in the champions league. If it wasn't for De Gea last season they would have finished about 10 th.

Hi Ed. I see the Liverpool Echo are reporting that Real Madrid are poised to beat Liverpool to the signing of Marco Reus. I am not in the habit of believing scourers but if true surely Reus, Rodriguez, Bale, Ronaldo and Isco competing for the same positions would be far too much. Any danger of Real selling one as part of a DDG transfer?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Isco has been close to leaving in the past, so that is a possibility. I doubt any of it has anything to do with DDG and his transfer though.}

21 Jul 2015 15:39:10
I don't think Liverpool were ever in that race tbh - even if they actually thought they were.

Agree6 Disagree1

22 Jul 2015 13:47:20
Liverpool weren't ever in the race for Rues, we were after Firmino and got him. Just like we are not in for Pedro either, despite what the papers are saying.

Anyone seen lahms comments on muller? Very interesting! Saying Muller to United is possible.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

21 Jul 2015 15:18:39
Not shooting you down trev but l "could" go to the moon too 😂

Tbf l don't know what to think right now. Need my meds!

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 15:50:09
But surely lahm would come out and say muller was staying. He wouldn't doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jul 2015 16:56:51
"It's not my decision, Things can happen very quickly,I certainly can't provide any guarantee for Thomas Muller staying". Why would he come out and say muller is staying? he's not in charge he has no say on who stays and goes that's why he's not guaranteeing it cause he has no clue!

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2015 18:30:23
I can see why lahm's comments could be getting a few people excited as muller is world class. But Lahm knows as much as anyone else in regards to transfers.
I can't help but feel it's going to be a monster of a transfer whoever it is coming in. Still keep dreaming of ronaldo returning to OT! That would be a great sight.

22 Jul 2015 13:48:08
Probably just to goad Bayern into giving Mueller a new contract?

21 Jul 2015 07:07:36
Any chance of bringing in Ibracadabra? As per Cavani's agent. PSG said Ibra will play "further and further away from the Penalty box". surely this will not bode well with Ibra - rumors about him heading to AC Milan but I think United should make an approach. He's born to play for us

Believable4 Unbelievable13

21 Jul 2015 09:14:34
I really hope not.

Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang?

or Alexander Meier?

would be two decent strikers that haven't been linked with us.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?

Alexander Meier?

haven't been linked with these and they're both decent?

21 Jul 2015 13:34:10
Ibra overrated? LOL he single handedly dedtroyed england 2012 and since then he has only become better and better

Agree3 Disagree3

21 Jul 2015 14:11:10
Overrated??! I thought the 'DDG should rot in the reserves' comment was the most ridiculous I'd seen in recent times. Congratulations though as you've just topped it!!

Expect LVG to bring in Huntelaar as a backup striking option before the start of the season.

You know what Robbie.you may have a good shout there !!!!.LVG told Sky Sports United are in talks with a striker but not anybody that the media has reported on so far. he's Dutch and coming to the end of a lustrious career playing at the top. worth a punt on this rumour.

21 Jul 2015 10:46:34
He's dutch so he must be a target!
