Ed02, Has united ever shown any interest in Hernanes from Lazio and if he was going to move, what would be he most likely destination. {Ed002's Note - Lazio's Hernanes continues to attract the attention of a number of sides including Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and PSG. Juventus were put off initially by his price. Previous approaches by Milan, Chelsea and Shakhtar resulted in the "not for sale" reply. I would not totally discount interest arising from Liverpool, but suspect Atletico MAdrid would be the most attractive option for the player.}

Reading in the news that Evra won't be renewing his contract at the end of this summer.

Rumour has it Unted asked him to see out his career at United but he has been told Moyes will get in a left back and Evra will be only a back up.

Supposedly Moyes will move for Baines
Coentrao or Shaw he wants someone in in january Everton won't sell Baines until summer so he's dropped down the list

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Southampton selling shaw especially in January and would prefer Coentrao anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a real steal if we could get Shaw, don't see it happening though especially in January. The club will no doubt decide whether Evra leaves in January or in the summer depending on whether Baines is available. Perhaps Evra will want to stay until the end of the season in any case.

Agree0 Disagree0

One of the big spanish journo's feels Coentrao is worse at defending than Evra can't remember which one it was maybe Hernandez he just thought he was awful

Agree0 Disagree0

Best news in a while. otherwise united will keep on giving him rolling contract till he turns 40 minimum.
33 is a decent age to leave united specially when one is defending this rubbish from past 4 seasons.
Now ferdinand is 34 and vida is 32. Time for a new centerback pairing regularly. Rio can reitre and vidic can take back up role for good of the team.

Vidic is still our best centreback mate and a leader on the pitch. Whenever I see him in the lineup, I have a lot more confidence in our back line.

God created united.
U r right on vidic but he is 32 and suffering fro. Fitness and injury issues, and so I feel rightful in saying he can take back up role. I mean in big games he can start and perform.
Back up roles doesn't necessarily mean substitue role. It means allowing new generation to step up and help them develop and if they need example, he can show how to do the job in big games. that's what we say lead from the front.

Ed02, can you see us signing a CM in January? If so, any potential names? We are linked with a new one on a daily basis so it'd be good to get some clarity.

We have no mobility or energy in the middle and until that's sorted, I can't see us being able to compete with any of the top teams in the middle. Hopefully, there is some light at the end of the tunnel and we are planning to sign at least one central player, otherwise I look forward to watching more incompetent displays.

{Ed002's Note - Don't discount an offer for Herrera but January is not a great time to go shopping. I do still expect a move for a left sided player.}

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Sorry Eds but I don't know much about Herrera would he be what we need or do you think another midfielder in required

Cheers {Ed002's Note - I can't help you there.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the left sided player will be Baines. Most of the top teams do without left wingers now and play forwards or creative players who like to come inside i.e Ribery, Ronaldo, Naymar. The left winger is then the left back i.e Alaba, Marcelo, Jordi Alba. I believe Moyes will pursue a similar system with Kagawa and Baines or Januzaj and Baines rendering Ashley Young obsolete. Real Madrid are even contemplating Gareth Bale at left back again for this exact reason.
