A few papers saying today that Real Madrid are going to come for DDG. Is there any substance to this? {Ed002's Note - It is certainly possible that they will show interest.}

He won't be going anywhere for a few years at least

I would say its more a probability than possibility and I aso think there is an air of inevitability about it. its then all about having a chair as strong as Levy and getting best deal possible. cassillas and Khedira + 10m or no deal. I think De Gea will be world no 1 but as I say there is an air of inevitability to it when a top spanish club wants a top spanish player so if it does happen we better screw them.

Bale best winger cost a wedge

DDG in my eye the worlds best keeper. so the price will be set by us.

Also rumours in a Spanish newspaper that is drip fed from Real Madrid the De Gea's family and agent as well as the player are wanting a move to Real Madrid as they see him as the long term replacement for cassilas and not Lopez. He's said he'd like to return to Atletico one day but I'd have thought if he moved to real it would be strange. He'd be wary of his house being burnt to the ground is have thought. One of the reason Aguero couldn't have gone directly there even though he wanted too. I do expect this story to grow though and is expect Marca to be printing consistent crap across the season now trying to unsettle the keeper. I think he's close now to becoming the best keeper in the world imo.

Apologies for a couple of typo errors. I'm getting older and my thumbs are getting fatter.

De Gea would command a fee of over £25m. So if he wanted to go and RM really wanted him, then we would be able to use this to our advantage as they have a treasure chest of talent. I also really like Lopez as a keeper. Very impressed by him and would prefer him to Cassilas.

Should ask for Jese as part of the deal. Immense player and doubt he'll get a chance at Madrid.

I agree Lopez is much better keeper than Cassilas and even before the nani being sent off he was the reason they were still in the tie with us last year.

It is worrying as Barcelona is also going to be looking for a keeper and common sense says he would want to play for one of the big 2 in his home country and probably end up as Spain first choice keeper for the national team.

Courtouise is very good and probably just ahead as he is just bigger and physically better suited to the english game. Chelsea own him and if we were to lose DDG, I would want us to go after Courtouise.

Agree0 Disagree0

We would have a better chance of Cech Shahram, but both are highly unlikely.

Agree1 Disagree0

If Bale is worth 85m then they can pay 40m for DDG or do one. I think he'll want to go back to Spain sooner or later and if we can line up a keeper like Begovic he could remain long term it would be better for the future of the club.

Reports that united scouts were at the Estoril v Sevilla uefa match this week. It's thought they were watching Sevilla left back Alberto Moreno who is the Spanish under 21 left back. Real Madrid are also supposed to be interested in him as a possible replacement for Coentrao.

Interesting stories in the papers the last few days. Stubbs saying that Baines wanted to leave was the most amusing. Elsewhere reports in Spain suggest Casillas is going to be offered in part exchange for De Gea who wants to join Madrid. Marchisio could be available for £25 million as Juve need to raise funds for Draxler. And then of course there is the Shaw, Barkley and Hughes rumours.

I wod say that some have legs and others definitely don't. I don't see us allowing De Gea to leave - if he does it will be because of the departure of Steele who he grew close to. We wouldn't need Draxler as we have Januzaj so moving for Marchisio makes perfect sense. Baines ship probably has sailed, last chance for that to happen would be January I would imagine. Shaw has to be the main target, but does this mean another season of Evra as first choice?

All very interesting. As always comments welcome! Sat on a train so believe me, I have the time!
