We need to build on this lead. Was it Welbeck's contract negotiations keeping him below par?

Sydney!

We could've won 4-2 but the defence was awful today

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes poor defending all day could av cost us the title

Agree0 Disagree0

Raphael let the team down. Three of the last goals all on him. He needs to bulk up.

-Lionheart

Agree0 Disagree0

Lionheart we have a player with that name??
I have normally been one to stand up for Evra but he let hibbert get two assists sorry but its nots rafs fault the supply should have been cut off to start with!

Walrus

No wonder we conceded 4 with a ninja turtle at right back!

GDS

Rafael. Sorry about that. Point being look how many times Raf was totally out of position, had the ball easily wrestled off him and went to the ground often. He needs bulk. Yes his link up play with Valencia is great but he still needs to play his role at the back.

-Lionheart

Had we had the other 3 Ninja Turtles at the back then I doubt we would've conceded any. That sounds like an amazeballs back 4.

If we can all se that he was over matched today why the hell can't SAF? We got Jones and Smalling who could have coped much better, especially with a 2 goal lead. Part of being a great manager is putting your players in the best position to succed. SAF didn't do Rafael any favors today

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we buy a left back to give evra some competition , there is no pressure on him losing his place which has been reflected in his recent performances........once again we get our noses in front then we relax and let the other team get amongst us and make us look weak.....I know man utd will be linked to every player in the world...but come on fergie get rid of carrick , evra , and rafael . We need to get the fear factor back...hopefully some new faces in the summer will help us to acheive that..

Agree0 Disagree0

If u think welback was below par than u must drink tea before u watch a game... wake up mate...

Agree0 Disagree0

TK,

Classic mate, I have heard that Liverpool already have a precontract agreement with Donatello though, £26 million and a pizza!

Also no name, you are suggesting SAF isn't a great manager because he played our in form right back at right back? Thank God he is manager and not you hey.

This result is not surprising, it's been like this all season. I have no problem with most of the spine of this team, only this useless midfield. We have two players who are 30+ our engines and can't last 90 mins. Carrick is a one trick pony and has been getting away with it for the last three years and as for scholes why oh why have we a club of our size been reduced to relying on a legend who was retired and brought back again. This I blame solely on saf and his bad decisions and judgment that after the first beating we got from barca he didnt learn. the result today just shows again how bad this midfield is, as yet again a team who plays the high pressure game against our midfield we crumble. After going 4-2 up, scholes legs were gone and carrick was anonymous all game. You can blame the defenders all day long but how we're them chances created. It's going to go down to the last game as I think city will be confident of beating us at the united stadium. Big changes needed in the summer starting with the clear out of carrick and the rest of the remaining deadwood an fresh world class midfielders coming in. I still have faith we can bring home number 20 as we got more experience. Saf has a big summer ahead and maybe a new coach.

Jelavic's first goal and Fellaini's goal were from crossed from the right hand side. Both of which Nani was having to defend will Evra was standing further up the pith walking back! He's really starting to take the p***! He knows there is no one to take his place at the moment so he just doesn't try! Get him out asap!

Junior Hoilett on a free transfer would be a great addition.

Believable25 Unbelievable23

Id imagine he would cost £5 million ish seeing as he is under 24 and is a regular in there 1st team.

Eds how much you rec he would cost?
Training fee or whatever you call it?
Mad Hatter

i agree the proposed fee for baines is a bit low but maybe it includes player exchange? Ten million and macheda would knock it up to around fifteen really. The low fee is the only issue i have. Would be a good transfer for me.

Believable10 Unbelievable17

As an everton fan this is BS, why would we take even 15 million for him? who are we going to get for that much that is anywhere near as good as him? he doesn't want to leave and we don't want to sell him, your going to need allot more money then that. and macheda? not if you offered him to us for free.

Hey ed's,any truth in the leighton baines rumours or is it rubbish?thanks {Ed001's Note - it's nonsense, he is the player Everton would least want to sell.}

Believable11 Unbelievable9

UTD will buy Jordi Alba, younger and effective than overrated English Player.
Cost between 10-15M.

"Carrick was bloody brilliant for Tottenham before he joined us. He hasn't been anything special for us. That's the difference in level between the likes of Swansea and United"

Carrick is very good and is one of our most regular players since we bought him, so how bad is he? Allen is a totally different type of player, you need to watch Swansea more regularly if you think he isn't United class. Where did we sign Rooney from? What about Ronaldo? Nani? Vidic? Evra? Hernandez? Young? Valencia? My point being; the team might not be as good as United, but, the player isn't a reflection of that. Or are you saying that we should only buy players from Europe's elite? If so, this post has been wasted on your idiocy.

Percy

Believable24 Unbelievable8

Regarding Carrick, John O'Shea was one of our most regular players for 10 years. Doesn't make him any good, does it?

Rooney was England's best player aged 17, Ronaldo was ridiculously talented and scouted by Arsenal, Real and Liverpool. Nani had played in the CL and done well, Vidic was Serbia's best defender and was the main reason they kept 2 clean sheets against Spain in the WC qualifying groups. Evra played in the CL final and was the best LB in Europe that year. Il give you Hernandez because he was a total unknown.

Name one impressive accomplishement by Allen this season. A good pass completion rate, that's it.

What else you got?

Agree0 Disagree0

I've got something here.
Allen is a tremendous player. When you ask what else has he achieved what exactly do you want to hear? To have the pass completion alone for a player in his position in the team he is, is an incredible achievement.
Carrick is the unsung hero of the united team. I call him, "a true football fans player" reason is simple. I mean congratulations on highlighting Vidic, Evra, Nani etc past, I mean good on you, but if you expect every cog in a team to be on the score sheet ever week, or be have achieved something before they join a big club then you are indeed clueless. If we did not have Carrick we wouldn't have won the league half as often in the past years. Vital. Our mission is to find someone now to complement him, NOT replace him. Watch him in the game today, no one else just him, then you might learn.

PJ

You're right. You can't be expected to win big in Europe with Swansea and it's hard to impress at international level when you play for Wales. We have to remember he'd only cost around 5-10 million as well.

Carrick plays a simlar role to Busquets at Barca, doing the boring job (minus the diving)

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't have it. Carrick has been our most consistent performer for the last 5 years! Only thing is, he's consistently bad. He has had 5 good games in 5 years.... Lets be honest, he's partnered Anderson, Fletcher, Jones, Giggs, Park, Gibson, Rooney, Rafael..... We've even had to bring Scholes back (nearly 10 years his senior) who has outshone him by 10 times...... {Ed004's Note - So it is some sort of coincidence that he continually starts with all them players. Look at the number of players that have come and go since Carrick has been here. Why hasn't Carrick followed them. You imply he isn't good enough for us and therefore you seem to portray the idea that you know more about Fergie. Ask yourself this. Why does Fergie continue to play him?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Its definitely a coincidence.... We have been poor in midfield with any of the pairings Carrick has had this season. Of course I don't prophesize to have any more of an idea than anyone else who has an opinion. Mine is simply that Carrick has consistenly performed below par for 5 years yet Fergie has continually selected him ahead of better players, in my opinion! Fergie doesn't get it right all of the time.... We're s**t and we're champions is the truth - but for how much longer can we get away with it?
