rodwell has submitted a transfer request. have you heard anything ed?
jenny {Ed007's Note - Sorry Jenny. I have asked about and nobody knows.}

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Where did you find he turned in transfer request?

YankSAW {Ed007's Note - It started on Facebook *rolls eyes*

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed!

YankSAW {Ed007's Note - No worries.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed i never got this info from facebook, dont even have it. it came from a friend who works for everton. i dont know if it originally come from there.
rumours around liverpool is everton turned down 2 offers from chelsea. chelsea have gone away now, as similar to the arteta sale everton need to raise money for the banks in this window top. rodwell will be the player to go in this window. but chelsea is the destination at the min, unless SAF comes in then he would choose us as would love to stay in the north west.
Jenny {Ed007's Note - Sorry Jenny. I had a message that it was all over Facebook, that's why I said that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No problem ed, i just didnt want you thinking i would take my rumours from somewhere unreliable..
come 31st everton have to sell, rodwell could go for as little as 10 million.
barkley if no buyer is found could be the next in the summer. asset stripping the club at the minute, chances they could go down, which would help them keep barkley as there higher earners would be forced to leave instead.

With all this talk about having little money for transfers and going for young english talent then i cant understand why nobodys considered victor moses? for me he's been wigan's best player for a long time.
Add him to some 2 or 3 of these lads and a possible CB and i think we'd be an all round improved team:
Barkley
Clyne
kagawa/gotze
hazard(unlikely)
benzema(fergie big fan)

Outs: Berbatov, Kuszcack, Diouf, Owen, Macheda

I really hope we dont sell park, really underrated in my opinion.

MUFC NOW AND ALWAYS

Believable11 Unbelievable10

Here we go with another list of names that only the likes of stoke or Wigan should be linked too, we want to challenge barca, real Madrid etc not end up like arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want to challenge barca long term we need good young english players, especially with the home-grown rules coming into play. only pogba, tunnicliffe, morrison looking good enough atm. theres always another luke chadwick to come along. haha

eds /syd i was just wondering if any of you heard any thing about clyne or if theres any thing in it

THANKS
THE DON

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Could De Laet be part of the deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dougie Freedman has said there has been no offers...but they would be silly to not take anything they get for him! £3m for him now or £300k in the summer (development fee)

I think Welbeck deserves a mention for Mr. Consistency. Has he ever had a bad game?

Percy

Believable32 Unbelievable3

So does welbeck deserve the 60k rather than the 45k? 4 me i think he does, ppl say when arguing about rooney's wages(regarding morrison and pogba) when he came to united he had a year of premierleague football and was an international, likewise welbeck had that with sunderland and is now an england international he deserves his wages if not more

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, he deserves a first teamer's wage. He's been outstanding this season, keeping Berbatov and Chicharito from the side.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Welbeck has been awesome for us this season, does he deserve 60k a week? umm i think a compromise is the best solution, he still picks up a fair few knocks so i'd say 50-55k a week and maybe a new more important shirt number to show our faith in him would be good. Either the no.9 or the no.11 when they become available in the summer.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have scored a hatrick, hernandez would have

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez would have been good at finishing some of the chances that were created, however i think sometimes he tends to go missing and when in possession it's like we have 10 men, against a team like arsenal i think Welbeck was the better choice. Played well on the whole, had a few sloppy (Giraffe leg) moments when infront of goal but they did defend well, koscielny had a terrific game.
My man of the match was Valencia purely because the goal that gave us the edge after a long good spell. Evra also played great obviously.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Great British talent is Welbeck, Hernandez for me though every time.

PJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he would have actually. United also wouldn't have been as dominant because Hernandez lacks the technical ability that Welbeck has.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think come end of the season he will get the contract for 60k. But i'm wondering against Liverpool Hernandez has caused liverpool defenders problems with his movement. A couple of liverpool fans say they don't like to see him start a game against them. We got players coming back, Cleverley and Young. our defenders are back fabio and rafael as cover i see jones out for maybe 2 weeks. But everything looks good for the rest of the season. Gotta give credit to valencia he been outstanding last 10 games. And evra played well today and showed many doubters even me he still can do it.

SSP

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez just isnt able to hold up the ball in the same way Welbeck is. Don't get me wrong he's a fantastic striker and finisher but against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and City, Welbeck is the man to play

valencia and evra played brilliant today, well done lads great result!

Believable18 Unbelievable1

Evra was excellent again today. I think he's been our best player along with Valencia, or at least our most consistent for the last month. I hope everyone who thinks he's finished will take note (Sydney!). And if there's any justice in this world he'll pop up at the back post to score the winner in front of the kop next week!
Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

Both players have come on well in recent weeks tbf to them.

Evra had been poor for a while theres no denying that. But if he continues at this rate perhaps we'll get another decent season from him next year? We could then focus more on our primary problem i.e. CM this Summer

I was worried Valencia had lost his edge too as he took ages to get back on form following his injury. But he's been our main threat in recent weeks, love seeing him bomming to the by line and whipping the ball in!

It's just us or Shi*%y now IMO so we'll need a few boosts like this to our squad if we're guna make it no. 20

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Evra was outstanding took full advantage of arsenals lazy wingers and inexperienced right back. He has been okay this season but today he showed how good he is. Valencia has been outstanding the last 10 games. Nani's looks like he has an injury. But young should be back. Defenders are coming back. Carrick was solid today, and Cleverley should be back soon so we look good in the run in towards the end of the season.

Possible good news, Jones may just have a twisted ankle.

Believable20 Unbelievable2

22 Jan 2012 17:04:52
Gary Neville, " United would have scored sooner if not for sloppy crosses from Nani", he can be a match winner but he can also be a match loser. I would settle for consistency.

Believable18 Unbelievable9

He set he can be a match winner and a match loser about mario ballotelli!!!
He did say they could have scored earlier if crossing from nani was better.
Whens young back by the way?

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing with Nani he plays a few games really outstanding, then he goes average for a couple games. He did all the hard work beat the left back but the final product was not there. He should become more like valencia has in these last 10 games consistantly good. But I still would prefer nani over young, after young's brilliant start to the season he faded away. But still we got players coming back at the right time. Cleverley and Young.

SSP

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville is spot on. Nani had 5 attempts to cross in first half and 2 in the second none of which got past first defender. He had one corner in second half that the keeper collected at ease. He is terrible on the left and Valencia is much better than him on the right. he constantly wastes possession and frustrates his team mates because he is thinking of only of himself. He has some great qualities but they only show up every 5 games or so. Summer sale I hope

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sell Nani he won't be replaced by anyone with as near as much quality as he has.. in my opinion he's been playing well for most of our games, and has had some stand out performances as well, every player has some off games..

Do people really think that a new winger is what we need?

Tm

Agree0 Disagree0

A new winger isn't rele a priority a CM is, at the of the season. The only reason i think we should get winger is if giggsy calls it a day, den we do need a naturally left footed winger. Like giggsy showed with his left footed cross for valencia's header. CM is the priority we have a good young cm in cleverley who unlike anderson when he gets into the final third he does the nice quick passes. We need some1 hu does what scholes does pinging the ball from side to side behind him in CM. Carrick should stay because to win cups u need a squad not just a good starting 11 and he has sown some flashes on his career of doing some good long range passes. Fletcher i think is also underrated in midfield when it comes to the big games he turns up wid a goal and hassle midfielders, he wasnt the same player at the start of the season because that stupid virus kept him out for so long now hes out again.

Hopefully Jones won't be out for too long, looks very similar to Hernadez' earlier on in the season and he was back within 3 weeks

Our bad luck with injuries just won't stop, Jones looks like a bad one. Hope the lad is alright, could be bad for England too.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Maybe its the way they train

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not serious, looks like a sprained ankle until further confirmation.

Ozwald

Tbh i'm not very impressed Fergie has opted for Giggs CM, should have gone Rafa at RB Smalling Evans CB and pushed Jones into CM with Carrick where he flourished before he got injured

Believable15 Unbelievable15

As much as a legend that Giggs is I'm getting a little annoyed with his below par performances this season. Pogba not even on the bench annoys me even more, I can't understand it.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Furthermore Jones injured due being ran by walcott. Rafa should have started and jones cm.
Ajp

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm thinking maybe Fergie has doubts with starting Rafa because a majority of the games he starts he goes off injured. Great player if he could just stay injury free.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that terrible Giggs who has been our best player in the first half and directly assisted our goal!.......stop being douchbag fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Giggs has been poor most of the season, he has the odd moment of brilliance but thats not enough.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Herbie if it hadn't been for Giggs's "odd bit of brilliance" we'd be about 4th in the table rather than 2nd, he might not always run the game but when he makes a contribution its often the differance at the end of the game.

Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate to say it, but it's about time he moved on... He's a legend, but not only is he poor at the moment, he's also blocking youngsters coming through.

Percy

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely can't be hating on giggs! He hasn't been poor this season at all. He's inspirational for the younger players while he's on the pitch. What's with simple minded fans that think if a player doesn't score or completely dominate when they play that they're 'below par'?! Stupid. I'm glad he played today, he's played so many matches against arsenal and always knows it's a challenge so he's always got the right mindset for it. Rather than maybe some of the younger/inexperienced players underestimating them because they haven't been great this season.. THINK.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ozwald! Some people are just determined to rip into our own players rather than getting behind them and supporting the team and manager. I don't know what pleasure these people get out of following the club because they just seem to constantly slate the manager or Giggs, Evans, Carrick, Evra or Rooney even if we win!

Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

Giggs has been my favourite player for as long as I can remember, and even I get extremely frustrated watching him play, and watching united play in general. It's not about slating united players, its about being realist.

His play is pedestrian, other than the old glimpses of magic, on numerous occasions this season he has been wasteful in possession, and less than concerned with winning it back. The real problem though, is that there isn't anyone to put there.

He isn't the player he was, he certainly shouldn't be playing 90 mins, in the center of the park, but not a chance he should be got shot of..

Hopefully Jones is RB and Smalling CB, id prefer it that way i think for sure. Don't think Giggs should be starting but there you go :b

Have a feeling Pogba may make the bench.

Sydney!

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Would have been good to have seen that syd... but all the pensioners are in......

arsenal play chamberlain and pogba does not even make the bench....

when he looks at other youngsters getting opportunities elsewhere no wonder he is reluctant to sign...

oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to Pogba if he leaves, Id do the same in his position. He'd actually make the bench at a different team - but enough of that, let's have 3 pts today!

1-3 United, goals from Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez off bench.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree wilshire proved he could handle the prem at 18 all be it out on loan pogba bound to be scratching his head and eager to play and prove his worth elsewhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow wow wow syd was wrong now that doesn't happen everyday no sorry it does to us mere mortals I wonder if he is ok not being right the only reason I bring it up is cause you can be a right smug giy every post that you don't agree wit cause of your insider info an friends an the training ground could tell you s&t maybe now you can come down off the high horse come on there is loads Of room

lol 50m on modric where do the dreamers come up with that one from!only way fergie spending that much on one player would be if had chance to bring Ronaldo back! fergie known admirer of Modric but it would be utd trying to deal with player exchanges to try make up the deal!
we do need 2 or 3 real top class players&good chance the no.7&no.9 shirts will be available in the summer so a big signing in one of those shirts will help the merchandising sales which utd love to see coming in!
any news on when the float on stock market to come in which may raise some funds or wishfull thinking any poss takeover talk?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Yeh Ronaldo would be the only 50 million + player that we would buy. Modric has no chance of coming in here.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric wasn't exactly 50m worth today was he?well from wat I seem in second half,he wasn't great....
