I seriously hope we sign hazard and not gaitan.if spurs or s**tty end up wit hazard n we get stuck with gaitan ill be very dissapointed...

Believable19 Unbelievable1

I don't get all this anti Gaitan stuff, the guy is class. I think alot of people are basing their opinions of him on the only games they've seen him play which was against us. Barca wouldn't be interested in himbis he was crap. Like wise as talented as Hazard is he has a hell of a attitude problem which I think balances things out. We could sign the more talented player who could cause problems or the slightly less talented player who has th right attitude. To be honest i'd be happy with either one as both would be an improvement.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

"get stuck with Gaitan"

He isn't an average Joe you know, he has great control and he's very pacey. He covers the most ground for Benfica by some distance and could turn into something special under SAF. Barcelona, City, PSG & Napoli are all keeping tabs on him so like I said he is no average Joe. I imagine he would end up costing around £25m and his wages are not going to be an issue like other player's wages could be. Players like Goetze, Oezil & Hazard are going to be very difficult to sign with other interest from other clubs and in Oezil's case whether RM would make him available at all? Perhaps the club will look at Hazard & Oezil, but Gaitan will be the safety net in case those deals are not possible? I guess we will wait and see.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

'Shappy'

Hazard would be the better option in terms of talent and status, but he would only be using us as a stepping stone for Real Madrid or Barcelona in 2-3 year's time. Goetze would one day want to go to Spain, he has made that clear. Oezil would unlikely want to return to Spain, but he has behaviour issues. Gaitan would probably be the safer long-term option.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

RED_SKY {Ed002's Note - I had to delete your comment. I know his agent very well and he would be seriously pissed at your suggestion. We cannot make such accusations.}

Agree0 Disagree0

What behaviour issues does Ozil have?

For me Ozil would be first choice, Gotze second, Hazard 3rd and Gaitan a distant 4th.

I know if Barca are looking then he has some talent, but I just don't think he'd be good enough for this league, i think he'd struggle a bit to adapt and settle. And to be honest certain other players have put me off signing Argentinians to be honest, always seem to cause problems. Mort.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loic remy had a quote pulled from the internet claiming he was looking forward to playing for spurs next season and to also link up with hazard...his agent also said something similar!

Agree0 Disagree0

'Mort'

Oezil has been a nuisance at Schalke, Bremen and Real Madrid. But I would still sign him. He has fallen out with a few RM players in the past. This is why I think a move for him isn't completely out of the question.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd everyone falls out in the Madrid dressing room though, certain players have always ran that dressing room, it used to be Raul now its someone else. I guess we could manage to mange him though. Mort

the metro think that we are close to agreeing a pre-contract with N.Clyne.

payment to palace 2.5m so to avoid a trial for compensation....

do any of the eds know anything about this and would everyone consider this a good signing for the amount and the potential the lad has?

oxred.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Why would we pay £2.5 million for him when, I presume he's out of contract in the summer?, we could pay a few hundred thousand if it was to go to trial? Surely it's in our interests to go to trial, no?

#ags 19

Agree0 Disagree0

Drawback is it is possible they could award more but yes 2.5m does seem a lot

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be pleased if we signed Clyne, i think he'd do well at United. £2.5m? I don't see how it could be that much.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

United have offered them £2.5 million to stop it going through the trial process. They know it would be cheaper, but they don't want the hassle and have had previous issues with his agent.

It is again part of the plan to sign all our players at the beginning of summer and be ready for the season. Clyne will be the first, Hazard the second and potentially Van Wolfswinkel as the 4th striker.

Berbatov has also confirmed a move to Germany. The team is not confirmed, but likely to be either Leverkusen or Hannover. The agreement was reached in January.

Doylinho

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd heard that we had reached a deal with Palace in January to pay £3 million, which lets face it is peanuts, to get the deal sorted out. Palace were happy as the most they were expecting off a Bosman was £2.5. But Clyne's agent scuppered things and is waiting for the Bosman. I've heard tribunal could be anywhere from £300k to £2.5 million. Mort.

have seen on facebook that utd are to sign sotoris ninis in the summer to bolster our midfield and Hazard is SAF's 1st choice replacement for outgoing nani

does anyone know if this is true as story originated on twitter and thus not that reliable. would love it if were true as i cant stand nani

dags

Believable11 Unbelievable12

Very much doubt that Ninis will come in, and i think Hazard will play in the hole with Nani playing on the left.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani is in the process of getting a new contract so get used to seeing him

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't stand Nani? You trying to tell me you can't stand a player that got voted United's player of the season last season?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you watched many games this season ? can you really say nani has been good ? other than a few games he,s been crap and dont people go on about his assists do we want players who are good at assists but play crap most games or would we prefer a player who provides assists but actually plays well can cross a ball take a decent corner and score from freekicks and doesnt frustrate teamates with his poor decision making.
johndenton

Agree0 Disagree0

To me he has so much talent yet manages to pyss me off so much

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I watch him at OT every week (that he plays!) & he has gone backwards this year. Valencia is awesome therefore I would cash in on Nani.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ball greedy little tw*t n looks like he was in the jackson 5

Agree0 Disagree0

This is rediculous, yes he may not be as consistant as he was last year but he is still our best winger and with a new contract on the way he will be wearing a united shirt for years to come. valencia may have a lot of assists this year but what about next year when he doesnt get so many assists, will you want to sell him then too?

I've just seen Jese Rodriguez play, the Real Madrid boy. I have never seen anyone play so similar to Cristiano, he really doesl look like he has the potential to be the 'next' Ronaldo at Manchester United (excuse the cheesy phrase).

RedDevil19

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Cheers for the info. RG19,

Dont know much about this guy, so is he definitely available then?

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that he is available, he's not getting much game time at Madrid and he is 20. So he would be open to a move. I think also he only has one year left on his deal so wouldn't cost very much at all.

It would be a pretty low risk move for us. A similar low risk move would be Kovacic, he won't be onver £10 million and some people on here have said that he is a free agent in the summer. So we could probably get the pair for about £5 million.

Both are destined for greatness i think, by the time they are mid twenties they'll be £30 million players in my opinion.

Have a look at Jese Rodriguez on Youtube, he has similar skills, he looks the same and he even seems to run the same. Its uncanny.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit optimistic probable 15m for the pair would go with the buy young policy and rodriquez is unlikely to get in the real madrid team over ozil di maria ronaldo higuain

rodriquez clyne kovacic along with sahin eriksen for me would be good moves in the transfer market

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldnt mind taking a punt on him. Could be a decent bit of business!

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

I think when a player has potential, like 'Jese' and he is not going to take a chunk out of our budget, a move for them is well worth it.

There is no risk in taking Rodriguez on, he will be less than £5 million and his wages will probably be our normal startign rate of 15k. Not going to break the bank.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Is there an echo on this site?! some other guy said the exact same thing.. I watched a couple of videos and at a glance, i dunno what you lot are on about! I've always thought Hazard has had a similar bag of tricks etc to Ronaldo but then again i've never watched him that much!

It will be a very interesting transfer window this summer, retaining the title or not the team needs sorting,in my opinion if we can sign some of these then we will be in good shape for next season....
Cissokho
Clyne
Benatia
Sigurdsson
Hoillet
Hazard/Gaitan/Martinez
Sturridge

TheSpartanRed

Believable7 Unbelievable17

I would love to see hazard, gaitan and martinez in a united shirt next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard and Gaitan? Where do you propose we play them as well as get Rooney, Welbeck, Nani/Young and Valencia in the team? We could play a GK and 10 attackers though... lol

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Only 2 of them are nearly good enough , hazard and Martinez , we won't get either and rest are nowhere near utd class

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyne allegedly close to signing

Do you think that Nuri Sahin would be available? He is the perfect choice for our midfield, he can play as a deep lying playmaker who also helps to shield the defence. Long term replacement for Carrick who has been excellent might i add?

So, Sahin a possibility?

RD19

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Personally I dont think he fits our style of play

TM

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba will be Carricks long term replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba isn't a certainty.

Gar

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel a lot depends on Pogba's situation, if he stays i would be surprised to see a lot of money spent in the midfield area (maybe an attacking mid). If he leaves however then i can see us buying someone of top quality.

Sahin is a good player, but it wont happen! So many other players about that'd be considerably cheaper than Sahin.

just my opionin not a fact or rumour
i think united will only bring in 2 maybe 3 players tops

fergie seems to rate modric very highly and i think will be he's first choice for midfield with martinez maybe second choice

as for rb i honestly think SAF rates the twins and will give them a chance to prove how good they are
and lb evra just doesn't seem to be the player he was and i think we will replace him with alba or izzaguire (spelling)

and with berbatov leaving a young striker like torres

i could be miles out just wat id like so who would u like or who can u see fergie bringing in

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I totally agree with you. The way i see it, Modric and Martinez are the main targets. I'd rather have Martinez, younger, better built and would comppliment Cleverly's style.

As for full backs, Rafael and Fabio are highly regarded. But i think Cissokho will come in at left back. And i think we will sign Torres and loan him back for a year or 6 months.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

That's 4 signings mate

Agree0 Disagree0

No its not 4 signing i said one or the other of each

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric and martinez = 2
alba or izzaguire = 1

then you said " and with berbatov leaving a young striker like torres" = 1

Maybe I missed something in math or english sessions but that is 4 mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric OR Martinez (2nd choice)

Not that its that important, but that makes 3 in my book!

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric or Martinez....No comparison at all Martinez is head and shoulders above Modric in more ways than one!

Martinez has to be first choice and could be the next midfield general for the next 7 or 8 years! Modric doesnt bring enough to the table in my eyes he is far too small...we need some grit in our midfield!

Moz

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez as a back up if we dont get modric
thats why i said SECOND CHOICE

Agree0 Disagree0

Moz

i totaly agree why i said he would be second choice is that SAF alawys speaks so highly of modric
but i supose im just asuming

Agree0 Disagree0

U say we need grit in our mid u may well be right but i persOnaly disagree we need players who cn actually play football who can control games wid passing and linking up with one twos ect the game is changing and our game needs to change if we r ever going to get on barca or madrids level

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Mar 2012 13:53:22
I must have missed the bit where Fergie has said he is going to Change our style so we have more speed in the team. Where can I read this. Do people really think this is the summer where we buy quality and offload deadwood. If you could get four players in the positions we need who would they be.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yes i think the dead clearing started last summer when we moved out John and Wes and carried on in January with Darron and Mame.

Throw in this summer with Tomasz and Dimitar for definite and a load of kids and possibly Ji-Sung as well and the dead wood has gone.

Incoming is harder, depends who we are after and the prices, the only certainly coming in i think is Clyne from Palace. Mort.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he himself knows he has to buy this summer! we have "fallen to far behind" already.

JWalk

In the article about Berbatov leaving. His agent said that United want to play with more speed next season

i know a lot of players have been branded next ronaldo....but one look at this player's playing style and you cannot help yourself comparing him with ronaldo. The player i am talking about is jese Rodriguez of madrid reserve side.it is going be defficult to prise him away from madrid but he would be perfect for us.a while back, many tabloids were linking us with him.any idea ED?

According to Talk Sh!t front page of today's Portuguese Tabloid states Utd have bid £20m for Gaitan. Good move or would you prefer Hazard?

Langers

Believable1 Unbelievable17

I was just thinking, Gaitan, Hazard or Muniain.... and after his displays against us in both games I would have to say Muniain

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say Gaitan last out of the 3 personally. Not impressed with him at all. Although the buzz on the internet seems to be that because of our "interest" in Hazard we have cooled on Gaitan.

Can't see us stumping up the money for Muniain i'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Hazard is the prefered option but due to others being interest i believe Gaitan is the more realistic choice as SAF doesn't like getting into bidding wars

I think that we are going to have to look within the EPL for transfers this summer and in many future summers. If you look at our current team the majority of players have come from within the League.

Its likely that players like Bale, Modric, Baines etc are the real targets instead of Hazard et al.

Believable6 Unbelievable8

22 Mar 2012 11:53:11
SAF is lining up a big summer for the club. Bigger than many of us expect. Modric and Hazard are going to headline the players that are going to be coming into the club. I for one am delighted.

We will spend most of our budget on Modric, Nani will be sold to raise money for Hazard to replace him. Good idea eh.

Believable14 Unbelievable12

To be honest I'm not a big fan of luka modric, although good player bit overrated and for the price being quoted no chance. If there is going to be a change of play to speed and technique from saf then he is going in the right way by goin to watch hazard. Martinez is a must in my opinion along with mario gotze. Gotze is not a natural cm but he is so versatile he can play in number of positions am, rm, lw, behind a lone striker. If nani or Valencia is sold then hazard is a great replacement as he is also very versatile. Players such as berba, park, Owen, macheda, fletcher, carrick are to slow now and the game has changed. We off all teams should no as we have been taught a lesson by both barca and the mighty Bilbao. There is no excuses this summer withe 'value in market' and only '2-3 players can improve us' nonsense as they are ridiculous excuses. Even if we win the league it has been a poor season not players fault but saf has to take blame as he said his 'squad is good enough' this summers dealings is probably the biggest as all the top english teams will strengthen. Martinez, hazard, gotze, erikkson, ozil, munian are all available at the right price if the glaziers and saf deem 'value in the market' . Evra, rio, vidic have been fantastic but we need to let the young cb learn and develop now as de gea has shown if your good enough age doesnt matter. Some one like hummells would be great for them to learn with. This is a great club with history and with the right players we will be back again in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope nani stays hes is world class always plays well for us would be gutted to see him leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Eh vidic is going no where. let the young cb learn from him (not sure who exactly your refering to here but any cb in the world could learn from vidic)

Agree0 Disagree0

In the case of vidic, he has just had a career threatening injury will he be the same vidic and how long till he regains his confidence and back to his best. He is also 30/31 and not getting any younger. Remember vidic isn't the quickest but he makes up for it in terms of his reading of the game and his power in the air. I'm not saying get rid of him, maybe use him as we are doing with giggs and scholes as a mentor for the young guns. But I do stress it is essential saf gets some top players not players who can just cut it in epl ie modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure we have just given Nani a new contract so why would we sell him?

Manchester United have summoned three of South America's brightest talents from their feeder club Desportivo Brazil for a two-week trial.

Lucas Evangelista, Bruno Gomes and Aguilar, who were last year pictured in the Old Trafford directors' box with two other team-mates, will hope to impress sufficiently to earn a deal ahead of their 18th birthdays.

The youngsters were part of the Desportivo Brasil Under 17 side which recently romped to glory in the Future Cup with victory, during which strikers Bruno Gomes and Aguilar enhanced their reputations considerably.

I'm gonna throw a completely different name into the hat for the left back slot, what would you say to a talented 22yo spanish lad who unlike Alba defends very well and still plays in that spanish way? I am of course talking about Jose Angel of AS Roma. He has all the qualities to become a top left back and has shown that he can settle and play well outside of spain which has been a problem for some spanish players in the past. He would be reasonalby priced as well, maybe could do a deal involving Macheda if Roma are interested. For me he has to be the best option for the left back spot.

Let me know what you think.
