Anyone know the latest with Memphis Depay? Seen we've been linked since LVG has been made offical, anyone know if this is true or just speculation?

Believable17 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - PSV's Memphis Depay has attracted interest from a number of clubs with Newcastle, Marseille and Manchester United looking to see of a deal can be struck this summer. Marseille will not be able to afford the player if either of the other sides bid.}

Do you see a move to Manchester United this summer a possibility ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I don't have a crystal ball. I have explained there is interest.}

22 May 2014 21:55:41
Cheers ed, I'd imagine he'd cost around 15 million?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Dollars or Shekels? Or are you just grasping at ridiculous numbers for no reason?}

is a utd still trying to put a package together to bring jordy clasie to old trafford? I am hearing things are starting to go sour? also, antoine greizmann any updates?

Believable6 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Feyenoord's Clasie remains a target for Fiorentina but whilst interest from Spurs seems to have waned, Sunderland, Swansea and Manchester United are showing interest.

Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Marseille, Rennes, Fiorentina and Lyon have shown some interest in Griezmann in the past year and repordedly Barcelona tool a look at one time. Whilst the kid has said on several occasions that he has no plans to leave Spain anytime soon, the financial problems being faced by Real Sociedad may still see him leave the club in the summer. He has had a good season which have led to enquiries being made by Juventus, Arsenal and Chelsea; and Manchester United and PSG having the player watched on more than one occasion.}

Seems like its up to Toni Kroos now.
New president of Bayern München just said the offer on the table will not be improved.
And the player needs to say what he wants someday.

Believable28 Unbelievable12

Yes it looks as though things will finally come to a head. A lot of places are saying that our negotiations have gone well and that the deal is nearly done - we will see how reliable these people are in the coming weeks. I suspect that it will all be resolved before the World Cup.

Agree1 Disagree0

Guardian is saying Van Gaal has pulled the plug on the deal.

Agree3 Disagree1

Ive just read this. woodward needs to pull his finger out I'll be livid if this summer window is as drawn out as the last and then we are left with egg on our faces and the club to be made a laughing stock for going after players that have no intention of signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that Woodward can, t balls it up again, or he could be the next one in the dole line. read about van gaal pulling plug on kroo, s. I for one hope not . and last but not least, if we finish below 7th next season . will van gaal be sacked?

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting it that LVG doesn't rate Kroos, so we have no further interest. Don't know why - can only assume LVG has a new target. I think Kroos would have been a good fit. And it seems he was willing to come. Pray we're not seeing a re-run of 2013!!!

Thanks
Neil

Eds what's latest on center back situation? We are getting linked with every available attacking player but why there is nothing for the much needed and obvious center backs? I read stories but so far nothing genuine like we get about shaw and kroos.
Please shed some light on that aspect.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - It is very early and a new head coach will be arriving. Barcelona and Manchester United maintain an interest in Hummels but have not made any recent approaches.}

Ed would the head coach be Meulensteen? He did an interview on tv a short while back saying he left Moyes to get on with his different approach but if Van Gaal wanted him back at United, it would be a case of where do I sign.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - van Gaal.}

22 May 2014 06:09:14
Eds in your opinions do you believe we will announce a signing/signings before the world cup. i'm not after any names my bet would of been luke shaw but Ed02 suggested that it could drag on.

Cheers

Believable6 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No transfers will be completed before the world cup. The transfer window opens on July 1. A player can agree to join, but the transfer cannot be processed.}

22 May 2014 11:44:14
I though domestic transfers could be done pre july

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, is it not possible that both Shaw and Kroos have agreed to join, but it's not yet official? A lot of places saying they are deals agreed in principle. They remind me of the De Gea transfer. It wasn't official until a month later, but we all knew he had agreed to join in principle. Thanks in advance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no fee agreed with Southampton for Shaw, so no.}

Thanks Ed. When these places keep saying it's agreed, do you think they mean the player has agreed, not the club? Or do you think it's a case of them getting ahead of themselves?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That would be tapping up Syd.}

Why would any club sell there players before the world cup, If they have a really good world cup then there value may rise? Ie. Kroos

Agree0 Disagree0

Or may fall if they get injured.

Keeping with the trend of being a bit left field today.

Does anybody know what the situation is with Yarmolenko & Konoplyanka. They obviously both play in Ukraine (Europes South Sudan at the minute), so with all the unrest I don't know what this will mean for their domestic game, would Kiev & Dnipro be up for selling and if so would they finto LVG's system?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Konoplyanka is available and there is a lot of interest including from MU.}

United reportedly signed Kroos for £20m.

Such a lie, surely?

Believable28 Unbelievable16

{Ed007's Note - Don't call me Shirley.}

Got to love a bit of Leslie Neilson :P

Agree1 Disagree0

A few places reporting this now. The fee seems a little low but if it's true comes as a welcome change to some of the ridiculous amounts being thrown around over the past few seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like a good fee considering he's in the last year of his contract and can go on a free next summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say 20 million for Kroos would be pretty generous of our part.

We signed a significantly superior player from one of our direct rivals for 22 mils. Now Kroos is younger and less injury prone, but the gap in relative quality is of great importance, and so is the team from which we are buying.

Let's not forget Kagawa, who was a better player for Dortmund than Kroos is for Munich, and we got him for under 15 million because he was on his last year.

I would say that a player's value would be divided by 2 when on his last year, so 40 million for kroos seems just about right.

Of course, that's not factoring the relative financial stability of Bayern, and his importance to the squad, which would drive his price up, but there's no way Kroos is worth more than 40 million pounds atm.

Mick1

Well the report is from daily mail no idea if they are kosher, fleshed out along with the price is that the deal was agreed before Moyes left, reporter was on talksheit and is very insistent let's hope he is right

Agree0 Disagree0

Joefletch, it's not low considering Kroos has only 1 year left for his current contract. 20m is how much we spent on RVP when he had 1 year left and Lewy was also valued at around 20m last year although Dortmund refused to sell. I just hope this is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

You have to remember the player only has 1 year left on his contract and if he is pushing for a move £20 million isn't a bad fee. Munich know all about players running down their contract that's how they get dortmunds players, maybe they don't want that happening to them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he only has 1 year on his contract so fee sounds ok

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently this was agreed while moyes was in the hotseat. Well that's part of the story until I see him smiling with the shirt I'm skeptical!

ManUtd are close to agreeing a deal to sign Toni Kroos and are set to make a stunning move for his team-mate Arjen Robben.
