Evening Ed.
Thanks for your reply earlier. It appears that we're making progress with Di Maria which is pleasing!
Are you aware if we are still pushing for Vidal in this window, or would that deal be too difficult now? I know a week is a long time, but u gave me the impression Juventus would need to sell to buy. Selling this late leaves little time to buy!
Hope you enjoyed your European Travel, and have a good weekend!

Thanks ed. Apologies, I must admit I haven't seen anything since. - Vidal needs to ask for transfer

Having re-read your 'right people in the right place Wednesday /Thursday for the likes of Vidal etc', the chances of signing Vidal is still there? I get the impression nobody on here believes there is a chance of it happening, but to me, I thought it looked more positive than the di Maria signing!

Posted a day or so ago saying that I had a guy feeling that this would still be a big window. I don't know anything and I'm certainly not ITK but I still think there's more to come. Di Maria? Vidal? Benatia? Hummels? Cuadrado? Carvalho? Could be an interesting few days ahead.

juventus have held talks with hernandez as a single tranfer. Not part of any swap plus cash offer for vidal. this is just juventus going after hernandez.
think this is the final sign that utd will not get vidal!

Didn't Evra go as a single deal?

We'll if that's true which I have my doubts about I hope Utd are going to ask silly money for Hernandez. He was worth £25M plus a few years ago and still has his best years to come.

Hoggy, MU will need to raise funds now. Hernandez, Welbeck & Kagawa would all raise around £15m each I'd imagine.

15mil for me he should be 30 mil .if lukaku is worth 26 mil. Then Chicarito would be more. Same for kagawa. If Luiz is 40 mil then kagawa is worth at least 30mil. Wellbeck to even though I never rated him he is got to be 25 mil because he's english, still young and Carroll cost 35 after 1 season for newcastle

For me utd should not sell to juve for playing hard ball with vidal! Only way I wouldnlet juve have him is in part exchange for vidal

{Ed002's Note - Try not to be ridiculous.}
Juventus have not played hardball with us. We made a bid they rejected it. 1 failed bid is not hardball.

Apparently Di Maria is on his way to Manchester United for somewhere around €70 million. I've heard he'll wear the number 7 shirt too. Top class signing imo.

Ángel Di María has decided he wants to play for Manchester United after Cristiano Ronaldo has told him it is the club to go to. The deal will be finalised at the start of next week and he will be given the Number 7 shirt. (Guillem Balague )

Interesting from Ballague (Sp). Di Maria to sign next week, €60+, convinced by Ronaldo and will wear number 7. He also said he not be the last signing. Interesting.

Guillem balague just confirmed di maria new number 7. Ronaldo told him us not psg. Apparently between 60-70 million euros which were happy to pay I thought it would be around 50 but as long as were finally signing a world class player.

Ed are you able to confirm whether united have made a revised offer to juvenile, or whether in your opinion there will be no chance of a transfer in this window.appreciate it "has been done to death"!

{Ed002's Note - I will guess that there will be movement on a number of transfers Wednesday and Thursday when a bunch of the key personnel are from the various clubs involved with the likes of Di Maria, Vidal and Guarin are all together in the same place. There will be preparation being done already but this week offers the opportunity to try and complete some business. Trying to get updates every 5 minutes doesn't help.}
I understand you don't like to speculate, but I will ask. at this moment in time, in your opinion, do you think United will sign either Vidal or Di Maria. I think there the two names were all interested in one way or another. Totally understand if you don't want to answer
Thanks
Steve

Thanks for the info ed! Sound exciting! (Hopefully) are we trying to sign any more defenders? Hopefully a world class centre back.

united have representatives in madrid for di maria deal. not sure how I feel about him signing for utd. very good player and a superstar signing. Just have that niggle about him.
utd have enquired about veltman but I hear other clubs are ahead of us?

Hope your Di Maria rumour is true as we need some good news!
He's not what we need but he's world class and you should always buy quality when it becomes available.
any truth in this rumour Eds?

Does he raise the quality of the team? Not for us to care about the money

Di Maria would be the biggest player we have ever signed, Other players have turned out to be better but we have never bought someone at his level before. Dream if we could follow it up with Khedira and Vidal. In reality I just hope we get one of them, will be total farce if over 2 seasons of transfers windows we are left with a midfield of Hererra, fletcher, fellani and cleverly

Veron was world class and look wot happened to him.

If di maria signs its a statement of intent and other players will come if they see a player like di maria in the side

Di Maria signing would lift United to another level. He will excite everyone. But its all pure speculation until now. I hope this is not Thiago part 2.

Hi Ed002,
Any update on the Di Maria negotiations?
Also, with Depay signing a new contract do you see United going after Cuadrado as a primary target or is he Barcelona bound?
Cheers!
Believable3

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Di Maria "negotiations" at the moment. Depay looks likely to be off the list. The situation with Cuadrado is that no one is interested in an auction. None of the interested clubs wants to pay the asking price. I suspect Guarin would be more likely as a target for the right hand side that Cuadrado at this time. We will see.}
Thank you ed.
I genuinely believed the news reports that mentioned United are close to signing Di Maria. I am just going to wait for official news, if any.
This transfer window will be the death of me.
Cheers
