Hi,

If ed002 is about.

What do you think will happen with regards to Rooney and his contract. And also man united position with regards to getting him tied to a contract do they want to keep or do you think they are willing to listen for offers for him.

I would be happy to hear your thoughts and opinion on the situation.

Thanks in advance

Believable6 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - I expect him to be offered a contract but suspect he might well leave in the summer.}

@Ed002

United were pretty clear in the summer with a "not selling to title rivals" policy. Has that changed or is there interest in Rooney from abroad?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from PSG. If he won't sign a contract then the clyb will need to sell. Maybe pale blue suits him?}

City Ed002? Is that a hunch or possible interest shown by them? Perhaps Aguero leaving in the summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They have not shown any interest. Yet.}

Ed002, to be fair I cannot see City letting go of Aguero. Every year the likes of Silva, Yaya, Aguero are linked away from the club, but they always sign a new and improved deal. Unless Aguero left there wouldn't be room for Rooney and IMO Rooney would undo all the work he has done here if he moved to our biggest rivals. I cannot see it personally. That being said like you, I cannot picture him sat in a Parisian Cafe eating his pain au Chocolat. I cannot see RM or Barcelona wanting him unless it was dirt cheap. I still think Chelsea is the biggest possibility or him signing a new deal. Perhaps Monaco to replace Falcao or play alongside him? Who knows?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Gosh.}

Ed002, why do I get the impression you know a little something that you cannot share ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Everything I have said is correct at this time Syd. If he signs a new contract he stays - if not it is time to move on.}

Do you think chelsea will push for a deal in the summer ed2?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - As of this time no.}

23 Jan 2014 22:00:24
Ed 2 questions if you don't mind:

1.does the Mata deal involve a first option on Rooney for Chelsea?

2. I get the feeling from what GNev said and what Pogba himself has been saying, we are interested in bringing him back to OT. However unlikely tht may be, is it true?

Cheers

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (1) I would not think so. (2) The interest is in Vidal. The interest in Pogba is from elsewhere.}

Hope we make a good fist of getting Vidal in I have seen him play on telly a few times and he does look fantastic, also according to a majority of the experienced posters on here he is the one that we need.

Hopefully a bid for Him and Mata coming in will dispel a few of the myths surrounding the club atm. The board are supporting the manager, there is money available and players do want to play for us.

exciting times ahead!

Agree0 Disagree0

Right Ed. Its just GNev tows the company line like big Pete and all the other names he said about are ones you said we've been interested. He started the list with Pogba though, perhaps there could have been a sudden spark of interest that you are yet to hear about? Pogba has now said he considers himself Mancunian and other Juve players have recently started talking about us being stupid to let him go. It's just a feeling.

Agree0 Disagree0

Told u all about mata a day before it can out, now it's sorted moyes is trying to make a big statement and make it a double signing with an enquiry going in for yohan cabaye expect them to move fast, press conference set for tuesday

Believable10 Unbelievable25

I know Wayne. All day I was looking for your post about another signing.

What do you think, we will go for Vidal or Cabaye?

Agree0 Disagree0

You also said that Moyes and his staff would be sacked if we failed to win the league cup. Given that we've been knocked out - I don't see that happening!

Agree0 Disagree0

French television station Canal+ claim that Paris Saint-Germain have already agreed a fee of €26m with Newcastle for the player, in a deal that will not be finalised until Alan Pardew signs Montpelier midfielder Rémy Cabella as a like-for-like replacement. If true, the news will come as a blow to Manchester United, who were believed to be interested in bringing Cabaye to Old Trafford.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheshire cat

Was that what canal + said about cabella been a like for lile replacement? As from my understanding there 2 quite different players. Cabaye is a box to box midfielder and remy is more your attackin midfielder. And from what's been said the signing of cabella was to add to the newcastle team and not as a replacment. I hope this isn't true as I really hope we go all out for vidal and couldn't see us signing both.

Agree1 Disagree0

Hey wayne? are you rooney, are you rooney, are you rooney in disguise!?

Agree0 Disagree0

I rate cabaye highly to me he is the only other cm in the premierleague apart from that yaya toure who looks like he is going to score close to 10 goals as a cm. I would love cabaye in now and then someone like vidal in the summer. But the oppurtunity to return to his homeland with a psg would be appealing to most cm let alone a frech cm.

utd will not put a bid for gundogan as Real madrid have watched him on so many occassions and its believed that Madrid is his prefered destination.
Vidal on the other hand is a key transfer for utd and have expressed intrest and proposal of cash and player deal, juventus have intrest in nani and valencia. vidal would also love to move to utd and I would not put it past utd trying to sign him before transfer window closes if not a summer move may just happen

Believable21 Unbelievable8

23 Jan 2014 20:40:26
Ed002, were you aware of the Mata interest or did it surprise you? I know he still hasn't signed but the way it's going he should be a United player by the end of tomorrow.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - There was no secret that clubs were interested and no secret that he did not want a move to Paris. The alternative was Atletico Madrid but they would not have paid what MU will be paying. The bid was acceptable to Chelsea and he wants the move, so Chelsea would not stand in his way.}

His name has not come upmuch on here

Agree0 Disagree0

None of us expected Chelsea to sell to us. There were strong links in the summer for a swap deal. but I doubt many expected this. I just hope it goes through

Agree0 Disagree0

Since the start of the window I've been suggesting that Mata coming to us on loan wouldn't be too crazy. I must admit that even I thought a permanent move was beyond all likelihood though.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2014 20:41:00
So do we reckon Mata will be given the number 7?

Believable24 Unbelievable6

23 Jan 2014 21:04:16
I hear 7 is being reserved for Januzaj?

Agree0 Disagree2

No8 is my guess

Agree1 Disagree2

I personally would give it to januzaj. The kids going to be a star. And before people say about the pressure of the jersey. Nothing fazes this kid. It ll only improve him. Keep it to yourself but one day he s going to win a ballin dore.

Agree1 Disagree3

I think adnan should get the No7 shirt and M4t4 should get the number 44

Agree0 Disagree2

Adnan Deserves #7 after his performances this Season. As stated Above. this Lad is going to go far. Just wish the diving would pack in lol

Agree2 Disagree1

Did a post earlier before reading this he is being offered 7 or 8

Agree1 Disagree0

I would expect adnan to get the number 11 in summer. I think it will be Intresting to see if the club offers mata the number 7 though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wait for Vidal (fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes all crossed) and give him the number 7 shirt and captains arm band when Vidic leaves in the summer. It will like having Robbo back in the middle if the park again!

Agree0 Disagree0

He should be given number 9, so we can coin the chant "9, Juan, Juan"

Agree0 Disagree0

7 for Mata, 8 for Vidal and Januzaj should get 11 when Giggs retires in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds.

Is there any truth, that you know of, in the Gundogan + cash swap with Kagawa rumour?

Steven

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Gundogan is one of the three players that Real Madrid are looking to sign in the summer. I think it will be tough to change that.}

Would I be right in thinking Suarez and Moreno the other two?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Aguero and Moreno.}

When Real Madrid are in then they tend to get, I'm sure Gundogan will be tempted by them. Don't mind that happening if we can get Vidal - I think that he could for a terrific partnership with Fellaini if he finds his feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gundogan Suarez and who else Ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - See above.}

23 Jan 2014 20:24:19
Okay. It happens a lot! Mata is signed, and working hard to sign Artur Vidal. This is information I've gotten some basis within the club. We fans have much to look forward to! AlwaysBelive!

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Here's hoping!

23 Jan 2014 20:08:00
A lot of rumours flying around, quite enjoying this transfer window for a change!

1) Mata is flying to have his medical tonight.

2) We are in advanced talks with Vidal over a move plus Nani.

3) Rumours of Gundogan plus Kagawa.

4) Rooney wants to stay and sign a new deal.

I'm a betting man and would say that two of those will happen, with at most being 3. But if all 4 happened, my word, we would have the beginnings of something brilliant. I think 1, 2 and 4 will happen, 3 is probably fantasy as I don't see us getting Gundogan and Vidal!

Believable17 Unbelievable6

2 and 3 look more like summer moves to me.

Agree1 Disagree1

I personally see the first 3 happening.

I don't know what it is with Wayne but I just don't think he has it anymore for the club and he himself wants a new life + a higher pay check. I hope I am wrong though.

Hi Eds,

Probably you have answered these already through the site but firstly I was hoping if you knew of any updates on Coentrao and Garay as all seems to have gone quiet with these?
I know I'm being greedy to think these will come this window after Mata seals his deal but also what is our realistic prospects of Vidal atm?
Thirdly, are we looking towards a change in formation (4231) eventually?
Thanks, great work guys!

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I explained a while back that interest has moved on from Coentrao. Garay is achievable but effort needs to be made now. Vidal has been covered. You need to read the posts.}

Ed, just searched for some of your posts and couldn't find anything where you explained the Coentrao situation - sorry to be a pain. Personally I think Moyes may have shifted his gaze towards Alex Sandro perhaps, can't really think of many others out there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Search on Filipe.}

Thanks for the info Ed, sorry I know you must get annoyed when lazy posters like me don't read the past response ha.

Ed002, good afternoon. Do you know if MU plan on signing anyone else in the next week. If we sign Mata, do you think the next 7 days will be spent trying to sign Vidal? Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about timescales. There remains interest in the likes of Vidal etc. as discussed.}

The mata deal was kept behind closedcdoors, so hopefully more is happening behind the scenes, I think there will be one more signing

Agree1 Disagree0

This window would be the best probably in any clubs history if we got Vidal, Mata and a left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, you gave us Fellaini in the summer even when you were on strike, if you could let us know about any further developments over the next week we will appreciate it. Thanks again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Sure Syd. I am in the UK for a couple of days but will be gone again until midweek. If I get a chance I will keep you posted.}

Thanks Ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

If we get Vidal as well as Mata I will be as happy as a pig in sh*ep!

Not counting my chickens until he has that red shirt on his back. but. given the choice who would you rather have. Believable for MATA or unbelievable for OZIL. Genuine answers please. MATA for me, Mourinho is a fool to let him go

Believable33 Unbelievable23

Agreed I just cannot believe jm let him go, easily chelskis best player, I just can't see a flaw in him

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2014 18:03:12
so the latest is Mata is still in London and not due to travel up (if at all) until tomorrow

Believable11 Unbelievable10

I don't think Ozil has set the EPL a light to be honest where as Mata is one of its most revered players and is a settled player used to the game - I'd have him every time. In the summer I was so annoyed that we didn't go for Ozil, not I must say that I am delighted.

Reports in Italy that Juventus have refused a €70m offer for Paul Pogba from PSG. Also confirming an undisclosed bid from a Premiership club believed to be Manchester United, is being considered for Arturo Vidal. Mention of a cash plus Nani deal. Just updating on rumours out here.

Mad Dog

Believable17 Unbelievable5

Do you think there is a genuine chance we can sign Vidal Aswell?

Agree0 Disagree2

I hope so, fingers crossed

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love vidal over any other. Without a doubt he is exactly what we need in the middle of the park. And don't believe there to be a better player out there at what he does. If juve want nani and a shed load of cash then who cares let's just do it. don't think even the most negative united fan could possibly argue that would not be an amazing piece of business.
Come on united

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally don't believe Vidal wants to leave Juve, but there's always hope because his salary is low compared to others. I know Moyes has checked him & Marchisio out but neither want to leave. However either would be great for us & exactly what we need. Guarin exchange with Vucinic was agreed then Inter unexpectedly pulled out & Juve have since slated Inter publicly big time so it's not likely Juve will let Vidal or Marchisio or Pogba leave without a replacement & Guarin was their no1 target.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2014 17:08:52
Would love Vidal to join but it seems like Juventus highly rate guarin as they were looking to bring him in and add to the already luxury cm they have. So hoping one of the ed can answer my question is there any interest for guarin from United? Because 15m seems like a steal

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed004's Note - There is no interest. Gaurin seems to be a replacement for either Pogba or Vidal IMO}

Thanks ed :)

Agree0 Disagree0

There were rumours in the Italian media last night that Guarin would be offered to United in exchange for Javier Hernandez, but they seem to have died down today. Perhaps they watched the match!

Agree0 Disagree0

Guarin deal with Juve in exchange for Vucinic broke down on Tuesday, Deal was done then Inter pulled out unexpectedly without a reason & Juve have slated Inter's new chairman on TV. Guardian Not going to Juve, so it's unlikely they will sell either Vidal, Pogba or Marchisio unless something changes sharpish.

Daily Mail report Ed Woodpecker is in talks with Rooneys agent over new deal. Would be nice if he signed on we could do with a captain like Wazza.

Chelsea have agreed the purchase of Salah from Basel, I think we can safely say Mata WILL sign on the dotted line very shortly now.

Believable15 Unbelievable3

11m for Salah looks a great bit of business. Just the the kind of thing I thought we'd be doing under Moyesey. Not sure Mata is one of the 'must have' positions filled, though a quality player.

"According to ESPN sources, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid were Chelsea's preferred options for a sale rather than selling to a direct rival, but they accepted the bid from United after Mata made it clear that Old Trafford was his first choice."

According a respected site. I guess we are still attractive to top players and all the doom and gloom is not here yet.

Believable24 Unbelievable3

{Ed004's Note - How dare you post something positive! You may as well just ask me to ban you!}

Im sure if you asked mata his first choice would have been to stay at chelsea wit no jose. but i'm more than happy wit this and i'm sorry ed if I sound happy i'm just throwing you off the scent of desperation.

Coming from the same person told me about Fellini at start of summer and mata they told me about 2n half week ago also saying Dante is very interested in a move but can't agree a deal with bayern that could be a deadline day not trying to hype it up rather not say nowt

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty Stevie Wonder could have seen fellaini coming. Mata is of course a different story but i'm a regular reader of this site for a few years now and no one ever predicted matas switch. And as for dante your kinda leaving the door open in both directions as what you have said here is pretty much wats being said in most tabloids. Is this person you know connected to the club in any way.

Agree1 Disagree1

He's telling lies and trying to sound like he has information, he knows no more than what you or I do and neither does his mate who he claims new about the mata deal 2 week ago

We were linked with Mata in the summer so its not really a suprise that we are in for him again.

A friend of mine who is coaching in the championship has told me a few weeks ago moyes coaches are the wrong coaches at united.im willing to give moyes a chance but his coaches have to go. Fergie was at the training ground before Christmas and left it fairly pissed. I'm a big Roy keane fan and think he should be brought in and I think he would attract the best midfielders in the world to come to us and maybe scholes beside him

Believable3 Unbelievable13

{Ed004's Note - So you imply Ferguson still has an influence on the team yet state you want Keane as manager. Someone who has even less on his cv than Moyes? You know the relationship fergie and Keane have now?}

This is just funny. Thank you for the post made my day.

Agree0 Disagree0

No I would like to see keane working with the players on the training ground, I don't think fergie has a say in the training ground, this mata transfer is fergie and gill the third party I think they have a say in transfers after last summer

Agree0 Disagree2

There is not a chance in hell keane would return to united in any capacity and don't believe his presence would attract world class midfielders because he was one. His reputation would arguably have the opposite affect. Although I do love the guy and think he could one day become a top coach/manager. I think at min playin second fiddle to o'neil with less direct pressure on him is the best thing for him while he learns his craft. I also don't believe fergie or gill are picking our targets either. However if they are lending there expertise on how to attain them, then I think that is far from a bad thing.

Hi all

I'm happy with the news regarding Mata. Its about time we got some elite level talent added to the team. I mentioned the possibility of Mata a few days ago - the talk I heard involved a Rooney swap situation. Tbh I'm happier with this outcome, unless that changes in the summer. Despite the loss tonight - Moyes will be given time. He is building a new team which will likely see a shift to a different style of football.

In transfer rumour news. Info passed on from inside suggests that 2 more may come in. Look for a proper midfielder. Vidal is a name that keeps on being pushed to me. Not sure about the finer details. Also - I had info claiming Ander Herrera could be done soon.
