I'm pretty sure a deal for Lucas has already been agreed, but it will not be anounced until after the Olympics. Same with Oscar and Chel$ea, because that will disturv their comitment to the Olympics. Van Persie is just a cloak for the real deal.

Moen#7

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Oscar is a much better player then Lucas

Agree7 Disagree19

A chelsea fan I take it ?

Agree13 Disagree4

Yeah do one chelsea fan. You are not welcome on this site.

Agree12 Disagree2

Different kind of player

Brendan

Agree11 Disagree3

One is a playmaker the other is an attacking midfield player so its like comparing xavi to messi 2 great player great at what they bring to make a team work

Agree6 Disagree2

Impossible to judge either based on brazilian league and olympic performance. EPL is very different game, judge afta season not b4. IMO both will be superb and if i was betting man will overshadow hazaed

Agree4 Disagree4

They are two very different players, I would say they're pretty similar in stages of progression. Oscar may be a little bit more ahead.

Sanshine

Agree2 Disagree6

Moura's agent has said the deal is dead, united wont up there bid so moura is not coming to us, it's on sky sports clockwatch, confirmed, missed out on another top player, we are a joke of a club when it comes to transfer dealings.

Agree1 Disagree6

Deal is off according to his agent

Agree2 Disagree1

Hold on a minute is oscar the one who can turn out like ronaldo? NO

Lucas moura situation will be resolved after the olympics.
Lucas wants move but is not willing to upset anyone!
sao paulo want more than man utd have offerd but also dont want to upset player into forcing a move
! At the moment its a waiting game until both can come to some resolution.

Thanx all and ed , top site ,

Believable5 Unbelievable9

It has to be settled before the Olympics finishes due to sao paulos percentage of the fee reducing after the 01st August

Agree9 Disagree0

The deal will be done just not announced

Caolán.

Agree7 Disagree3

OP, Bob Cass who is not a United fan, but shall we say a Fergie fan believes the Moura deal will be completed after the Olympics.

Sydney!

Agree7 Disagree6

Syd, wouldn't UTD want complete before 1st Aug due to the increase in player percentage received of the fee?

Langers

Agree10 Disagree0

I assume that if a deal is agreed, with all parties involved before the 1st of August, the deal may not change regardless of when it is completed.

I have to confess I dont know a huge amount about players owning a percentage of themselves so to speak, but I'd assume that it would be fine if Moura was in agreement not to change terms upon completion after the 1st of august.

Given the Olympics situation I think it would be very difficult to complete a deal prior to the games without causing serious disruption, which all parties would want to avoid. I hope it is completed or ruled out before the Olympics though because I can't stand all the speculation.

TM

Agree1 Disagree2

I Reckon Modric still to come not moura its all a smokescreen

lucas signed deal to be confirmed after the olympics 26 million with add on clauses

Believable22 Unbelievable27

He's going to inter

Agree15 Disagree36

Surely you wouldn't be the first to know this before other sources and networks...
Also why would it be confirmed after the Olympics? They would want this sorted asap so that it doesn't ditract the national team or be the only thing that they talk to them about during conferances??

melwing28

Agree8 Disagree4

This is a quote from his agent on Sky Sports:
"All the parties have to agree: the player, the buying club and the selling club.

"I guarantee 100 per cent that Lucas has not done a deal (with United). He is focused on the Olympics."

He hasn't signed altho he has admitted they are in talks

Agree6 Disagree3

As it stands now, no one really knows where lucas will be going. i bet that even lucas himself doesn't know. he may have a small preference. united may have the advantage over inter as italian football is broke.

Agree5 Disagree4

All agreed but confirmed after the olympics not to put lucas under the media spotlight anymore so he can focus on the olympics

Agree4 Disagree2

The same Inter thats been offering Julio Cesar, Maicon & Sneijder all around Europe to get them off the wage bill and sold Forlan also to get him off the wage bill?

Agree5 Disagree0

Inter pulled out due to the price.

Caolán.

Agree5 Disagree0

Still, if anyone complains about the price, at least we didn't spend Ł35 million on Andy Carroll!

Philiphs93

Agree1 Disagree0

Sky are claiming moura's agent says the deal is off and dress in the water as they want more than We are wiling to pay.

Man Utd are definitely interested in Lucas Moura and are putting in a £26m bid!!!

Good news lads, Vidic has returned to full training!

Believable41 Unbelievable8

But he might miss the first game of the season {Ed004's Note - Just read that and it is brilliant news}

Agree7 Disagree9

Could be Rio and Jones at CB for the first game v Everton, but hopefully both Evans and Vidic will be ready soon after

Gav {Ed004's Note - I could see Jones being played in midfield to compete with Fellaini if he is still there}

Agree6 Disagree9

It was told over a week ago that Vidic will be ready for the opening game. He has stayed behind to further his fitness rather than going on tour.

melwing28

Agree8 Disagree6

Ed 004 who would you use next to Rio if we've got Jones in midfield and Smalling, Evans and Vidic injured?

Red Joe {Ed004's Note - Damn forgot about that. Only back from holiday and had no internet so am trying to catch up on everything. I just found out after reading this that Fergie has said he needs to address left back which is brilliant news. But if Vidic or Evans aren't fit would have to go with Jones at CB}

Agree1 Disagree3

That was my point Red Joe/Ed004 - those 2 may be our only fit CB's

melwing, there is no guarantee Vidic will be ready to play 90mins in our first competetive game, unfortunately. SAF will not rush him back

Gav

Agree0 Disagree1

Gav what about wooton, been impressive with rio on the tour!

Caolán.

Agree0 Disagree1

Vidic and Evans should be fit to partner Rio for when the season starts. Then there's beast and then Carrick and Wootton in emergency.

Just been thinking about Oscar going to Chelsea and Lucas coming to us.

The feeling with Oscar is that he is deffinately going to Chelsea and that he is trying to take pressure off himself during the Olympics and that he has an agreement with Chelsea not to say that they have bought him.

'I know there is speculation that we are interested in this player, but if in due course there is anything to anounce we will hear' (he means you will hear)
-Di Matteo

Now Sir Alex Ferguson is in the same situation and has come out with a very simular reply in regards to Moura.

'We haven't reached an agreement for the player. We've shown an interest but until such time we get a deal agreed we can't say he's our player'

But most importantly for me is Moura admitting to Rafael that he is excited about the prospect of moving to Old Trafford, it would seem his head has been swayed away from Italy.

To some up I think Oscar and Moura have already agreed terms with Chelsea and Man Utd respectively and both signings will be announced straight after the olympics have finished.

Red Joe

Believable26 Unbelievable9

If u read moura's player profile the ed who made the profile an updated it the other day say he expects moura to go to Madrid over Manchester

Dio

Agree3 Disagree7

He can't go to Madrid considering they want Modric.
Caolán.

Agree6 Disagree4

It looked like a deal tht would involve kaka going in an exchange

Dio

Agree5 Disagree3

Well that's eds opinion... I disagree.

Red Joe

Agree6 Disagree2

Thts your opinion and u are more then entitled to it but what evidence have u got to back it up with ? , the ed got a bit do I would like to ear yours ?

Dio

Agree1 Disagree5

I think even the eds can't have all the answers if they did this wouldn't be a rumour site it would be a fact site wit actual people in the know this is not to say the eds are wrong it's just to say they cannot know everything regarding every transfer and to simple take there word for it is reckless ...... No offence to any of the eds .... Love your work {Ed004's Note - None taken lol.}

Agree4 Disagree2

Moura will be an excellent signing for u lot, as will Oscar to us. Dunno who I would prefer both as good at different things. BLUEBOY1

The PL really is the league to be in right now, it's becoming more and more popular each month. In the Spanish league you have two powerhouses where the order is pretty easy to guess each season. In Italian football, it's less predictable but less superstars with special talent, slower football usually more defensive and then there is the match fixing. PL has loads of competitive teams, very hard to guess the order, seems to be more and more exciting young prospects in a range of teams. Not to mention the style is very aggressive and fast paced which is exciting.

What i'm getting at is its not surprising to see both young Brazilian prospects on their way, probably more to follow.

I've read the player-profile that ed022 has written and it's good. Bare with me with this, I know very little about Madrid apart from their negotiation style. They like to let everyone know when they want a player, they are very open with it and it's a good tactic as everyone seems to want to play there, and a lot of clubs will not even bother bidding if they know Real are interested.

Man Utd have to be very secretive, because of Real and Barca, we also have the disadvantage of being situated in Manchester, I love Manchester I lived their for most of my child hood but I am not deluded so I know it can't compete with the heat and luxury of Real, Barca or Milan.

So I can see why ed022 wrote 'they (man utd) would then have to prove to Moura that England was the place for him, and I honestly don't think Moura would be that interested' my argument against this is the claims from Sky (for me a reliable source) that Moura has Spoken to Rafael and that he is 'excited about the prospect of moving to Old Trafford'.

So obviously the location is not a problem to the player and the player is willing.

Kaka, from many reports that i've read is keen to stay in Europe, with Milan his prefered choice. So for me it is unlikely he will go back to brazil in exchange.

Madrid is also trying to reduce their wage bill and do not have the money that they have so frivolously spent in the past few seasons, so a swap deal is the only real option...but like i said I don't see it happening.

I think that is a pretty solid argument against Ed022's answer. But every one is working on educated guesses at this point. Even the eds I think, (it's great work you're doing by the way eds, no offence intended) I've already stated why I feel a deal has been done in my original post and backed it up with quotes, which is all I can do, I never said it was fact. It's a theory.

No-one knows what's going on when it comes to Man Utd apart from SAF, Gill and the other parties involved.

At least i'm not pretending to know someone's uncle's 2nd cousin who is an apparent 'reliable source'. I have come to my conclusion through video interviews with SAF and Di Matteo and other reliable media like the BBC, Sky and MU website...

To some up, I'm going with my gut that there's something a bit funny going on with the Brazil team in regards to keeping pressure off their players during the tournament and I'm making an educated guess....we'll see if i'm right after the tournament.

hey eds, a lot of talk about a move for a left back and more recently a centre half as cover for injuries but what do you reckon to the chances of Blackett and Wootton providing the cover this season? I think they've both looked alright on tour so far..

Believable8 Unbelievable10

Blacklett is nowhere near EPL standard...

Agree4 Disagree3

Blackett wouldnt get a kick in a stampede!

Agree3 Disagree4

Blackett is a couple of years away from playing regularly but he is probably one of the best prospect to come out of the academy this year.

This pre-season will do him the world of good. He has looked a little shy at times, but is getting stuck in and involved in the play like I would want from him. It is a shame he is not getting to play with a more experienced line up as I think that would help him even more.

GDS

Agree8 Disagree1

I don't see it with Blackett he never really impresses me even for the reserves he is never a stand out player he wouldn't even cut it in the championship at the minute hopefully I'm wrong but can't see him ever been a regular for us

Ronnie

Agree0 Disagree2

That's because he is a kid. Do you really know THAT many players his age that are ready?! Very few would be the answer! Can people stop mugging off youth before they have even started.
Im one of a very very small minority who still thinks Macheda will make it! Here or somewhere else, but will still be a very good striker. Not so long ago people where slagging off Welbeck, a lot still do.... But he will make it big too...

Quick one Ed is Samba still at Blackburn good player for me to cover for our cb injuries. One more the Lucas Moura news this morning any concrete developments other than just paper headlines. Still think fergie will introduce a lot of the guys from the academy this season. Moura will be our only signing. Arsene will never sale to us and we can't afford his wages. Now dembele news as well this morning. {Ed002's Note - Samba moved to Anzhi Makhachkala during the winter window.. I have no interest in discussing Moura today at all. Sorry.}

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Ed002 - isn't discussing one of the biggest transfer/rumour what this site is for?
No interest in discussing Moura- a lot of united fans do , getting sick of continual Moura talk? Stop being and ed then. {Ed002's Note - The problem is the mass of misinformation that the gullible Manchester United fans are believing and regurgitating and the quoting of wildly inaccurate nonsense about the financial aspects of the "deal". I have zero interest in putting people right in respect of this because they won't listen "now that the deal is done". Certainly I have no interest in simply shooting the breeze with a vegetable like you over this stuff.}

Agree4 Disagree2

In other words ed2.you just don t know and are trying to bluff your way out of answering a question. {Ed002's Note - I did say earlier that the deal had not been done, but fine you get what you want and I will say no more on the matter at all.

Agree5 Disagree1

Take it easy noname - if you use the search funtion you'll see that Ed002 has said plenty about Moura and our other 'targets'. What's the point in him repeating this over and over just to have people like you say he's wrong?

Gav

Agree2 Disagree2

To be fair, I'm not sure you need an editor of a website to confirm what the Lucas Moura situation is: The boss summed it up in his press conference surely? We are after him, but yet to agree a fee... end of

Agree7 Disagree1

23 Jul 2012 09:58:26
So if you really think about it, apparantly man utd had a bid of something like 28.6 million rejected a while back. According to reports whatever fee is agreed, a percentage has to go to lucas, the reported percentage is about 6 million. 28.6 million minus 6 million is 22.6 million. The Mirror reports that a 26 million fee has been agreed with man utd paying the signing on fee straight to lucas. This all makes sense as the sao paulo president said only a few more and with this deal he and the club get the few million more they wanted. Lucas to Man Utd done deal. After Fergie came out and said he had made a bid for RVP, all he has done is made RVP aware we are in interested signing him. If RVP comes out and says he wants to move to us then we will get him at a decent fee, obv if RVP wants to go to Juve or city he will do so. I have no idea who we will get as left back cover, please feel free to comment...

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Sao Paulo have denied a deal has been reached, dont believe everything the mirror writes..

Agree2 Disagree0

Talks must be ongoing then...

Agree1 Disagree1

SAF has stated the clubs have not come to an agreement. However, we have shown interest, and the discussion on price is ongoing. Mirror is full of crap.

Agree3 Disagree1

BBC Sport website 10.54am announced

Sir Alex Ferguson confirms Manchester United are interested in Brazil international Lucas Moura, but denies that a deal has been agreed.

"We're not lying on our backsides doing nothing," says Ferguson. "We're trying hard to bring other players to the club."
