I've seen two ITKs on twitter state that united have sealed the purchase of Eden Hazard....anyone else know if this is TRUE?

Jake {Ed004's Note - Who would these ITKs be?}

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Of course people will be saying that! It was only yesterday SAF stated that Hazard interests him.. Sorry but i don't buy it.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

What's a itk? I hope it's true but isnt it a bit early for deals to be completed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im just guessing here but i think ITK is in the know?

Agree0 Disagree0

ITK stands for 'In The Know' people in the football world who claim to know about football transfers/deals use it on twitter but there are ALOT of fakes out there who talk about fake deals!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry forgot to sign off on the "IN THE KNOW" post.

I think hazard is our no1 target and would not be surprised if the deal is wrapped up ready for him to come to us for pre season we all know fergie likes his players to be signed Nd ready for pre season

Calvin

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when has SAF or his associates ever discussed who they're interested in? Surely it's bad business to disclose who you want before the signature is on the dotted line? You wouldn't go to buy a car and say "this car is amazing and I'm really interested in it. How much do you want for it?". Sounds like there's more to the rumoured interest than meets the eye. As ever, trust SAF. I have faith in a team that is more than the sum of its' parts. We don't need superstar individuals, we need dedicated, driven, determined players who understand what it is to play for MUFC. Whoever we end up with will almost certainly be what the club needs (though not necessarily who the "fans" want).

Agree0 Disagree0

Can anybody remember ramsey where fergie came out and said we have agreed a deal for the boy then wenger snapped him from under our noses remember ronaldinho sometimes fergie comes out too soon

anderson p/x for geitan. makes sense as he will acompany fabio

Believable5 Unbelievable36

I mentioned this as a possibility some months ago as they are on a similar wage, even Ed002 said it was feasible.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would nt mind that at all.andersons had enough chances imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be happy with that, purely based on Ando's injury record. In fact I'm amazed any1 would risk taking him tbh. If it were to happen I'd wish him good luck - it's clear he really wants to succeed at OT but his injuries have been woeful

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

For a start Anderson is worth around 16 million and gaitain is worth around Maximum 15 if that, tbh ild rather keep Anderson start of the season he was immense his best season so far unfortunate that he got injured!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson is probably worth around £9m because of his injury record. With Fabio (loan), Kiko and Anderson should knock maybe £12m of of his value. I think if something like this happened we would only have to pay around £10m. Could be a decent deal in the end. Would be three players off the wage bill too.

Fergie has confirmed that he was at Lille to watch Eden Hazard (as well as other players).

"I can confirm Hazard is a very good player, he has so many qualities, he is very fast over the first ten meters"

Not confirming a possible bid, but here's hoping.

Brooksy

Believable32 Unbelievable3

Im not hoping

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazing player, i hope he does go for him

boneyjoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard is no doubt a very good player but after buying Young last summer to add to Nani and Valencia why would we buy another winger? Unless we are getting rid of one. Does not make sense otherwise unless SAF is stocking up on wingers.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Red man hazard cn play on the wing but his natural position is attacking mid through the center u need to get up to date

Am i the only one who wouldnt mind Gaitan coming in? I think If fergie see's something in the player then he must be something. Granted their have been several costly flops E.G Veron. But that is a gamble you have to take when signing players. Will they adapt? Will the reach their potential? When Ronaldo was joiining i am sure people were thinking one trick pony. Wont work. I would like to see a decent amount spent on a player with genuine ability and Gaitan has it. If he does join, he may or may not be a success. Look at torres 50 million and flop, Atleast he wont be that bad!

Believable12 Unbelievable5

There are one or two players with more ability than him, but perhaps Gaitan ticks all of the boxes for United. I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Gaitan if we had tried for Hazard. I would also want a midfielder to come in as well as Gaitan.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah I like Gaitan too, he wouldn't be my first choice but if he comes in then i'll be happy and i'll support him. I just think some people watch a player once or twice and make up their mind on whether they're good enough on those couple of games. I also feel that Gaitan hasn't got the "press factor" that other more well known players have.

Shappy

I couldn't possibly comment ;)

I was just going to say cue GDS ;)

Gar

Agree0 Disagree0

I've commented on Gaitan enough so wont do so again as my feelings are well known but what I would say is that the difference with Ronaldo was that he was 18 when we signed him. It could have taken a few years for Ronaldo to adapt and he still would've only been 21 years old where as Gaitan is 24. Admittedly that is not exactly old but it means we would want him to come in and hit the ground running. I dont think we can afford to give a big money signing more than a year to adapt. If we're going to do that then why not just save our money and bring Petrucci and Tunnicliffe through and give them a couple of years to mature.

Syd/shap
you hit the nail on the head, his not a bad player but his no one's first choice player, well apart from gds.
I think our midfield has a few issues and i'm not sure gaitan is the answer to them, gaitan to united doesn't really make a lot of sense to me im not sure i believe it
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't like the way Gaitan throws himself on the floor at every opportunity. Would much prefer a player like Hazard who battles to keep the ball, rather than doing "a Suarez"

20 Rising

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred,

He is by no means my first choice player to sign. What I have said is if he is Fergie's first choice after 2 years of scouting him then he is probably going to be good.

I would prefer Hazard and Martinez all day long, and probably Muniain, I just have a feeling we won't get them.

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Gds
I agree with that but I can also see why some people are not to keen
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wants to join us that is most of the job done. Hazard, Martinez & Muniain may not want to move to United. It really comes down to availability.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to think we will make some efforts to buy at least 1 of them 3, I think it is going to be a very interesting summer!

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Tbf, we can bid for a lot of players, it depends who wants to join. And if the choice of Hazard and Gaitian comes, im sure Saf would only take one of them and jus leave the other one behind him.

I hope everyone doesn't get too giddy about Hazard possibly joining us after SAF's radio interview with a French radio station. From what I'm told he's not our number 1 target but on 'the list' of possible targets if others fall through. Unfortunately I believe Gaitan is our number 1 target which is disappointing to say the least. Never rated him that highly, yes a good player with potential but not Manchsster United quality and won't ever be (in my opinion). I think if we're going down the 'cheaper player' route we should go for Cabaye he's very good and would be even better at United. I just hope that Benfica keep demanding to much for Gaitan so we move on to other targets that are better players. Hazard would be amazing but there's alot of interest from other clubs and the price could rocket if Chelsea/City get involved.

United Till I Die 1987

Believable4 Unbelievable11

I'm sure it would be the other way round mate. Gaitan is more than likely the safety net if Hazard falls through. Or the Hazard thing is a massive smokescreen? Although we did act this way during the DDG pursuit which makes me believe there is something to this. I am not sure the fee will rise with City and Chelsea involved, although his salary certainly will with City involved. Hazard strikes me as the player to take the biggest deal over anything else so I think City will nab him unless a Spanish club comes in for him. RM & Barcelona are his preferred destinations so if any come in for him it will rule England out of the running. I think Barcelona and RM could make a late move for him. Barcelona could offload Villa and bring in Hazard. RM could also offload Di Maria and bring in Hazard in his place. I think the club that misses out on Neymar will opt for Hazard.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite the opposite UTID 1987! Hearing SAF say this, pretty much confirms 100% in my mind, that Hazard is not on our radar.

SAF may well have been watching a different player, whatever, but one thing's for sure - the man is as canny as they come. He knows that as soon as we make our interest public in Hazard, the likes of City will barge in with a blank cheque and we'll be made to look silly.

I would say we'll defintiely sign someone of Hazard's calbire, but having read this, I don't think it will be Eden himself.]

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir Alex never talks about targets so why would he now? The fact that Sir Alex and Rene have mentioned Hazard to the press confirms to me that we won't be going for him. To be honest i'd rather go for someone else anyway, I didn't like Hazards comments that England can be a stepping stone to Spain, I don't want another Ronaldo situation where we build our team around a player only for them to want to make their dream move to Spain a few seasons down the line thus ripping our team apart. Barcelona are such a formidable team because everyone wants to play for them and everyone would bleed for the win, no one there is angling for their dream move to another club. Hazard is a whore and only in it for the money and the life style, to be honest we can do without problem people like him at our club, if we wanted a super talented trouble m

Agree0 Disagree0

I accidently hit the post button too soon, damn the tiny buttons on my phone. Lol. I was saying if we wanted a super talented trouble maker at our club then we'd have given a new deal to Morrison as at least he wanted to play for the club and he'd have cost us nothing. So why spend a fortune on a morrison clone who long tern doesn't even want to be at our club?

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sure you could say the same about 88% of footballers not just Hazzard

Agree0 Disagree0

Amen Shappy!

Agree0 Disagree0

RED_SKY and Syd! I hope your right I'd much rather Hazard to Gaitan. Only what I've heard, ofcourse it could be wromg and hope it is :)

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree0

What if Sir Alex and Rene are talking about Hazard as a deal has already been agreed. I am sure he has done it before

Agree0 Disagree0

If a deal had been agreed then i'm sure that it would be announced by both clubs already.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see the point in the Hazard thing being a smokescreen. We claim interest, get someone who's not as good and a team with more money gets the better player. Am I reading that wrong as it doesn't seem to make sense?
Dingle

Not going for hazard. Remember when SAF has complimented Neur? we all thot he was going to come to UNITED? but then it ended up we having DDG.

HV

'HV'

Neuer did rule out a move away from Germany. We tried twice to sign Neuer, but he was always going to Bayern.
