Ivan Rakitic had an absolutely superb game today in the Europa League semi. Haven't heard about the interest in him since December time so Ed002 are we interested at all? Or is he still likely to go to Lazio

What about the rumour that we are putting together a deal for Messi? Any chance Eds?

{Ed004's Note - Not a chance in hell}

Unless we get taken over by the Qatar family there is no chance!

Hi Ed, just wondering is there any truth in these rumours about Evra getting a new 3 year deal?

Thanks

Believable8 Unbelievable23

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware. He looks outward bound.}

Ed002 I'm sure I've seen you post that Modric may be available in the summer? With Real being interested in Arturo Vidal and being far more likely to sign him the we are, do you think United may look at Modric this summer?

Believable4 Unbelievable12

{Ed002's Note - I suspect not unless the new manager is a particular fan.}

Excuse my French but f*** going for Modric because Real Madrid are going for Vidal. We are United we shouldn't be lowering ourself to getting cast offs because Real are going for another player. We should be going for Vidal and go head to head with any club for his signature. We are Manchester United who shouldn't go for cast offs and go for the best.

Don't get me wrong Vidal is the exact player we need in midfield. Him along with a playmaker such as Modric or Kroos would be my ideal central midfield pairing. However, being realistic we have a very small chance of signing Vidal and Real do have an interest in him. If given a choice between Real Madrid or United at this point, a player with no emotional connection to either team is more than likely going to go to Real Madrid.

Also Modric is top drawer so if Real Madrid do want to cast him off and United were to go for him I'd be delighted. He's twice the player of any of our current midfielders, has PL experience and actually passes the ball forward which is something we need.

Italian reporter Di Marzio reckons Evra been offered a 3 year contract in the last few days .For the love of God I hope not

Believable6 Unbelievable37

Oh dear that would be a disaster, magnificent servant to the club and was arguably the best left back in europe at one point but he's a complete liability these days. got to go for me!

Agree3 Disagree0

Not a chance, no truth in this what so ever.
also, we do not give multi-year contracts to players over 30 years old now.

Agree5 Disagree1

I'm not sure about a 3 year contract but, now Moyes has gone, I would expect Evra to stay on with a view to mentoring Luke Shaw (should we sign him).

Agree1 Disagree0

I personally think he will stay and part of me hopes that he does as he will help the new left back no end, hopefully that will be Shaw.

Agree1 Disagree0

If Shaw learns from Evra then that will be £30m down the drain.

Agree1 Disagree5

Club doesn't offer over 30's more than a yr deal

Agree0 Disagree0

Behave Syd! His legs may have gone but he was one of the best LB in Europe at one point and it's also about teaching Shaw what the club is about and Shaw having someone to seek advice from. Let's not forget Shaw isn't used to big European games and will need a little guidance.

Agree1 Disagree1

TK, I am hoping for an Ev exit. It's long overdue my friend. Buttner will tell him everything he needs to know :)

Agree2 Disagree1

Melwing and Dustbin may I point to the 2 year deal given to Carrick recently, we never gave multi year deals under SAF maybe something has changed

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Buttner is involved with the deal for Shaw and Evra will be his mentor

Agree0 Disagree0

There is every chance that Evra will stay.n
