Just been informed that United have signed young Brzillian centre back Dodo for £5 million pounds. The papers in Malta have published the clubs 12 months accounts and the fee for Dodo is shown within these figures.

Raffa.

@We have first dibs on Dodo til February 2013. The set price is £5.4m which was agreed nearly two years ago. He looks a great prospect. Him and Fabio will fight it out for the left back position for when Evra retires.

I will not state my name or explain my role or where but I will tell you that there has been no more contact between the Qatar's and Glazers since early Jan when the last offer was dismissed and they were told that they would not even talk further.

The glazers have no intention of selling and just this week have unveiled their plans at the club for the next few years. 3 at laest so there will be no sale, and no talks. The galzers have said that they have weathered the financial storm over the last 2 years and now can return to their original enhanced plans for global marketing etc of UTD. This ia a pot of gold for them. They are not selling.

To Mr X

Read an interesting article this morning in which it said the Glazers would do any deal and wouldn't even tell Gill until the very last minute as that is the way they work. I can tell you that the number of people who know things like that are extremely small and would be very very unlikely to post on here. So if the article is right do you know more than Gill?

Personally I think three players for the summer transfer would be perfect.

Goal Keeper: The three most likely are Adler, Neuer and Stekelenburg. They would all cost around £12m.

Defensive Midfielder: I think one of the best options would be Javi Martinez. He would cost about £15m.

Creative Midfielder: I think possibly the best option would be Nuri Sahin. He would also cost about £15m.

Gilly.

@Ngiak/ Gan-you shouldn't be getting peoples hopes up over a sale saying your sources say both sides are ready to meet with lawyers etc.

Still think united will sign defour in the summer as well ed, he seems to be getting over all the injuries that have been plagueing him over the past couple of seasons. . end of the day he doesn't have an ongoing battle with a specific injury as owen hargreaves had (tendonitis), its just more or less been bad luck more than anything. .

reckon he will be signed in the summer along with either rodwell or modric. . .and a goalkeeper on top of that but that will be all (maybe a couple of young nobodies as well, iturbe would be good but may need a season or 2 in porto before making a final decision)

line up hopefully will be something like this

GK Da Gea or Neur would be a safe bet
RB Rafael
CB Rio/ Smalling
CB Vidic
LB Evra/ Fabio
RM Valencia/ Nani
LM Giggs/ Nani/ Cleverley/ Morrison
CM Scholes/ Defour/ Modric
CM Rodwell/ Defour/ Fletch
ST Rooney
ST Berbatov/ Hernandez

Still feel we need another decent RB to challenge rafael for the spot. . .god knows who though?

@ John O'Shea/ Wes Brown? ?

Dear mr redfaith,
and without new owners and players, don't bet your money on the likes of evra, rooney, vidic etc staying, and more so brown after his tiff with sir alex.
what odds that giggs and scholes for another 2 years? to look after the great youth team coming up? :)
gan

@Ngiak, you are an absolute fool if you believe these players will be sold, United are in good financial shape, much better than we were in 2005 and we never sold off our best players then. What evidence do you have that United are going to sell off their best players? It's absolute nonsense and you know it.

I suppose it was your source?

"I've read a few columns this morning in the papers saying United should have signed Van der Vaart. Am I the only one who thinks a move for him would have been plain stupid?
The answer to United's midfield is not a 27 year old who cannot last 60 minutes of a football game."

@I agree, he would have been a bargain at £8m, problem is he was not offered to us for £8m, Real wanted double that amount. He is always injured, knacked after 60 minutes but still would have been a steal at £8m, however he is not worth £18m which was quoted to the big teams around Europe.

Does anyone else think that game was crying out for a player like steven defour? His movement and forward passes would have caused havok, i really rate him. Are we still in for him does anyone know? Thanks
Shappy

Looks very good. He has been unlucky with injuries but is still young £10-12 million to get i think.

Ed what do you think

{Editor's Note: He will probably move this summer and I still think United are in pole.}

We have lost that killer instinct. Carrick needs to go too sloppy now and gives the ball away. He's not the player he used to be.

Defour would like Utd to sgn but he's injury prone and we can't afford to buy injury prone players.

Modric would be a good signing although he would cost alot. Hopefully Fergie can find another Hernadez for midfield. Maybe a cheeky bid for Parker especially if WEst Ham get relegated. He is a very good player and would cover the defence really well.

It would also allow anderson to convert back to his attacking midfield role too.

Ed what do you think?

{Editor's Note: I like Sctott Parker as a player, but he is over 30 now and it could be nothing but a short-term solution, so it seems unlikely.}
