My dads brothers uncles aunty who knows the bloke who drives the team bus says we will sign someone tomorrow! on a serious note i do have a contact inside OT and i am led to believe the signing of Douglas Costa will happen in the summer for a fee in the region of 15m! Its thought SAF wants a left footed left sided AM to add competition and balance to the team! Not sure if this will be a good signing or not but my source has been right on previous occassions so i would say the possibility of this happening is high!

@Our future is far from bright if we buy them three players! Defour cannot stay fit for five minutes, Young is a terrible player and Gordon & Lindegaard fighting it out for the number one jersey could be disastrous. Neither are tested at the highest level. It seems you are spot on with your departures mind. I think Brown may be kept though. Dirt cheap wages and loyal. He can play in two positions and does not mind sitting on the bench. But if him and Fergie have had a big bust up then you could be right.

Sydney!

Just what my source said mate. I'm not sure about Defour as regards to fitness or playing ability, but I do think the only areas which will require strengthening this summer are in goal, in midfield and perhaps on the wings, with Fergie seemingly in agreement. Apparently Brown and he had a massive bust-up on the tour last year, hence why he's barely played this season and no talks over a new contract have commenced. I'd want him to stay but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

A source at OT who refused to give me any details for fear of being found out, stated that SAF is seriously looking at what he described as "the most exciting, young, naturally gifted midfielder in the country". He did say that he is currently playing in the Championship! Make of that what you will.

Matt

If correct i believe the player your talking about is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain! But unfortunately from what I've been told he's Arsenal bound and being loaned back to Southampton for the remainder of the season. Shame as i think we've missed out on a real gem there!

Could it be Adel Taraabt(Spelling! ). .? ?
Although a Yids reject I watched him yesterday and he was class.
Also Southampton play in League 1 not the championship.

1 out of Krancjar or Adel Taraabt (QPR) to be brought in as a squad player to cover for the summer clearout involving the likes of Carrick, both the Owens (though the midfielder might be retained on a pay-as-you-play deal if he recovers fully), Brown, Neville, VDS, Gibson (maybe on loan) among others. Ravel and Pogba are amongst the list of youngsters who might be asked to step up to the next level next season. Sanchez is also a sure-shot now, well unless someone severely outbids us and unless Jovetic makes a super awesome comeback. SAF prefers Jovetic to any other midfielder out there but Sanchez is also someone he really likes. Would be interesting to see who he actually goes for.

O'shea 85k per week. More like £85 a week. Hes useless.

There seems to be some movement with Qataris looking to buy/enquire Man Utds availability.

ED have you heard anything about players coming in. I expect it will be the same quiet Jan transfer window as usuall we all know fergie prefers to buy in summer and let players settle in before seasons starts {ed's note - I have not heard anything other than kids being looked at.}

I agree sydney! I think brown will stay on the basis of his loyalty, low wages and the fact that he is home grown. In a dream world I would love to see Modric, bale and de gea/Adler brought in but I don't think spurs will let either go and to he honest I can't see it even if they finish outside the top 4. I think de gea/Adler will be brought in and the possible cm's will be out of Kagawa, Gotze, Henderson and Rodwell. We may also sign a left winger but will depend on several things such as how well valencia does when he comes back and giggs' fitness.

Long time reader and posted a few times in the past on the main website in the past.

My reliable sources inform me that there will be no signings this window, nor will any loan players be recalled. I was also told that Fergie said in his programme notes yesterday that this was the case - can someone clarify?

In the summer however, big changes are afoot. Edwin Van der Sar and Gary Neville will retire and Wes Brown and Michael Owen will be released. Owen Hargreaves' future is still under consideration with the very slim possibility of a pay-as-you-play deal being mooted, but my source does not believe this will come off. Tomasz Kuszczak, Ritchie de Laet and Darron Gibson will all probably be moved on as well. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs will continue, and Patrice Evra will not be sold.

In terms of bringing in players, expect to see the long-heralded arrival of Steven Defour from Standard Liege, as well as reinforcements in the shape of Craig Gordon (Sunderland) and Ashley Young (Aston Villa), proven Premiership players who will add depth to the squad. Reports of Benzema/De Gea/Busquets are wide of the mark.

All this from a very much trusted source within the club's management structure. The future is bright, the future is red.
