Another news i got is, 1st nd 2nd choice ( martinez & m villa) are difficult.. so i thought there wont be plan c... as we all know SAF dont fill a position forcefully, but in this case he is knowing that if he cant snap one of those two now,,probably he can never.( he waits a season or two if that one becomes available) so plan c is moussa sissoko. even i was surprised when i heard this name. but a tall, quick and all round player is a possibality this window..
watch this if it comes true..( i m not sure)

Don't know about Powell, but Kagawa has very good movement and finishing. Passes and dribbles well. He's not a playmaker, but he is creative, does the unexpected, and is very accurate when passing with the outside of his bootwhich let him play surprise throughballs when defenders think he's going to take them on.
If he plays in behind the striker, he will be very good for us, adding goals and assists.
If he plays out wide for us, he'll be ok, but not really better than what we've got.
If he plays deeper, in the centre of midfield in a 442, he could be good or he could be very average it's hard to say, although he could be lethal with freedom to roam forward behind two strikers, as long as his partner can cover behind him.

Disagree0
Powell certainly does the unexpected! What he will need to learn is how to play in a team and against decent defenders. He thinks if he gets the ball in the opposition half he's bound to score which is refreshing but naive :). In L2 he had the skills to make it happen. What are his skills? Fierce shooting with both feet, excellent control and ability to keep the ball under pressure, really good "vision", self confidence even higher than Bendtner!

I see the papers have gone a bit flat over transfers to Man Utd in the last couple days.
They are struggling to find a player they haven't linked with us considering nearly every player in the world has been since the season ended.

Well it's only seemed to slow down in the last 3 days so the Euro's aren't really that big a factor as they weren't a problem for the first two weeks

Apparently Fergie is said to be looking ät adding Evra,Roy Keane,Scholes,Giggs and Berba's replacements.....,with Alba being the main target for left back...,Baines and Oviedö being the back ups......,Lass/M'Villa/Fellaine one of them expected to replace Keane.......,Modric the target to replace Scholes then Dembele and Cabaye back ups......,James Rodriguez or Nico Gaitan one of the two to replace Giggs whether Nani stays or goes and Kagawa is a replacement for Berba.....,So expect 4 more signings with 2 of them being finalised on the last day with Pogba leaving for Juventus,Anderson to Benfiça or AC/Inter Milan..,Mächeda staying for another season chance...,Fabio and Park out on loan.........

True I feel a little sorry for this guy! Shame he mentioned keano in the same post as some of the pathetic replacements he listed . Disrespectful even if he did mean will !
Agree0

Why on earth would we send Park out on loan ? it makes sense to sell him while he's got some small value there !

Also Messi will be replacing George Best - but expect u this one go on until deadline day !

Although it is load of rubbish, he does have a point about replacing keane.. we still havent, just like arsenal havent replaced vieira, we need someone physical in the middle and havent had that since keane left

I'm a man u supporter, but arsenal have replaced vieria better than man u have keane, with alex song. Although he's a gooner and almost an impossible chance to get him, i would love to see him at man u

Steve bruce is trying to sign michael keane and tunnicliffe on season long loans. Should be good experience for them at championship level and can see this going through as united have a good relationship with both hull and bruce. Bookedredmole

Thanks Ed. I was already excited about the signature of Kagawa and that's just confirmed why!
Agree0

Can you imagine Hernandez making runs off the last man with Kagawa threading balls through?! I think this signing will take Utd to another level. I hope Rooney feels under pressure in the team - I don't like any player to feel in droppable if they are on a bad run of form. Can't wait for new season!

Would he be proud of the slack defending in germany aswell? quality player tho
Agree0

Hernandez is great at finding space, Kagawa is a fine passer of a football -- then trouble -- Hernandez will fall over, give the ball away, or if he's 6 inches out score with his butt, or the back of his head. The guy is awful!! He is one of the worst players ever bought by SAF. He can't trap a ball, pass a ball, dribble, cross, except himself at the beginning of games. No wonder he prays a lot.

Nani staying at OT new 4 year contract on offer
Player identified to steady our midfield is Moutinho, understood that Utd have offered 25 mill Euros and offer has been accepted and will be completed w/c 1 july
Only other news i have is Powell to Palace on loan next season in return for Clyne signing and staying with Palace for one more season

I'd love to see Moutinho at OT...can't see it happening though! He's fairly key to Porto's game, and 25 mil probably wouldn't get them a similar or better player. And if the Rodriguez rumors (that he is going to leave Porto) are true, i reckon they'll want to hang on to Moutinho because he's such a versatile player! As for the Powell and Clyne part...I think we will certainly see Powell in a United shirt, not this season but the season after. I don't think Clyne will be coming, LB needs to be addressed more than RB, and the possibility of Jetro Willems is more appealing than Clyne.

Hard to believe powell will be loaned out as SAF said he will not be loaned and I think united next signing in midfield will be more in the area of a defensive midfielder like m'villa but its sad to say he is set for a move to arsenal
Agree0
Disagree0
Don't believe Powell will go out on loan. If he did, surely it would be to another Prem team a la Cleverley and Welbeck at Wigan and Sunderland respectively.
Right Back not a priority ? Depends if we want to have a world-class defence!

Recent rumours going round are that Modric will choose Real Madrid over Manchester United. Should this happen... Alex Ferguson will turn to Yohan Cabaye of Newcastle United.
This would be a great signing in my opinion. He'll be cheaper than Modric and he is more of a goal-scorer rather than a playmaker.
With Scholes signing a new 1 year deal... the playmaker is not something that we need as much as we did before he came out of retirement.
Believable26
Unbelievable23
Cabaye is definately my second choice, he looks exactly like the type of player we need. Has everything and is a playmaker as well BTW.

If only we had the money...
Red Joe {Ed007's Note - Bale is an awful LB Joe.}

Would prefer cabaye over modric anyway. Younger, potential to be absolute world class has by far been France's best player through the euros, would be class signing for united

United has lacked the creative midfield player who controls the flow of the game. United needs a dominant midfield "general" who will dictate the game in their favor and enable the team to dominate the EPL and in Europe.Refer to last season when United's midfield was often over-run by lesser opponents.
Agree0
Disagree0
Just a reply to Red Joe's post...I agree with ed007 about Bale at LB, he's just too used to getting forward now! Young on the left would be fine, id much prefer to spend the money on a decent LB (baines) than on Rodriguez when we also have Nani to pick from. Cabaye and Kagawa in the middle, Rooney a bit deeper and Welbeck or Hernandez as our out and out striker. Or Fellaine in the center with Cabaye and Kagawa just behind Rooney. I hate to say it, but I think Carrick's past it for the first 11...his indecision this season really hurt us!
Andy
Agree0

Cabaye will not be cheaper if not more expensive because Newcastle will hold out for ridiculous money... Just like Carroll
fearny
Agree0

Cabaye is only 5 months younger than Modric, they are both 26. I think Carrick is a far better bet than a 38 year old to last for 90 mins over 40+ games. Scholes was a God, but now he is a very good player for 60 mins over 20=25 games per season. It is clear United need 2 midfielders urgently. You need 4 strong players to rotate in the teams engine room and we have one Carrick and a half Scholes. The others midfielders are too old, fat or average. It really is a hole in our team that needs mending before the season starts.

Lassana Diarra will be the next signing into United. Now France are out of the Euro's United will begin discussions with Madrid and his agent. United expect this to be sealed within the next 2 weeks.

There's a whole list of Defensive midfielders who are better and more suited to us. Javi Martinez, though we may not want to pay 25m +, M'Vila, Tiote, Sandro, Strootman (though he's more of a box to box player, rather than a holding midfielder), Sissoko, all younger and better than Diarra.
