ed please tell me we have an interest in thiago? I highly rate him and think he would be awesome in the prem {Ed004's Note - There seems to be some interest}

Believable24 Unbelievable0

On a depressing night at the casino you have slightly cheered me up haha thanks

Agree0 Disagree1

I live near Barcelona and talk in the bars etc is that Thiago is surplus to requirement at Camp Nou whilst Barca see an opportuntity to raise funds.

Does anyone think Belhanda from Montpellier would be a good signing? It says on Sky that he is looking to leave France this summer, and a move to England, Spain, Germany or Italy would appeal to him. Not sure myself, but I think we were rumoured to be interested in him a while back. Do you know of any interest in him from United Ed? {Ed002's Note - None.}

If we were going to sign someone from Montpellier I would rather go for Remy Cabella. He's much more consistant and would fit our squad better.

Ed002, I understand you are traveling and a busy bee at this moment in time so I will be patient waiting for your response. Can I ask what the latest regarding Rooney is? Things have developed we know, but can you add something more or confirm that PSG are in talks to sign WR? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I have just gotten back after a crappy journey and sat on the tarmac for over an hour at Heathrow waiting for a gate. Nothing has changed as far as I know with Rooney, and I certainly don't know of an offer being made by PSG or talks. As I said, if he is available they will be interested.}

Rooney will stay, Gaitan or DiMaria will join MU as well as Bainess, Fellaini only if doesn't want him.

So James Rodriguez has gone Monaco for the money, Nico Gaitan a possibility now?

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Why do people criticize players for going to Monaco? Have you ever gone there, it is unreal, the player has no connection to Manchester United. Yes, money has a lot to do with it, would you work at another company that paid you more for doing the same job? Your lying if you say no.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, there is more to life than football and it's no surprise that good players might want to live in a beautiful, sunny resort on the Med for a few years. Particularly if they are being very well paid, and the tax regime in Monte Carlo means they keep a lot of it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Went to Monaco after watching United in Marseille about 10 years back. Amazing place. I can't blame anyone for wanting to live and work there.

Matt

Agree0 Disagree0

Monaco is an amazing place. We don't know what other offers he had on the table, I am pretty sure we hadn't bid. He probably should of signed for Stockport County, at least then he wouldn't be playing for the money.

Agree0 Disagree0

TAX FREE MONEY in Monaco must have been tempting, plus a free live visit to the Grand Prix. Good on the lad.

Eds, if we sign a new striker in the summer do you think there is any chance Welbz could be loaned out to get games as a centre forward next season? I personally think he has a lot of potential but he lacks composure in front of goal. Perhaps a season as an out and out number 9 for a Premier League side would do him good. Everton maybe?

IDM {Ed004's Note - No I don't think he will be go anywhere IMO}

Believable9 Unbelievable5

I think this is a good shout. I'd really like to see what welbeck can do and how much he can develop with a sustained run as a no 9.

he's not going to get that at utd unless we have the injury crisis from hell.

I think the jury's out on welbeck at the moment and we're not going to know if he's the real deal or not with the occasional appearance on the left wing.

for all kinds of reasons Everton would be a good club for him, although I'd be concerned about whether their new manager could guide him properly.

spurs would be a better option IMO. they desperately need centre forwards, they have a good modern manager and players good enough to get the best out of welbeck. he would also suit their style of play.

welbeck needs the chance to blossom in the player we all hope he can be. its unfair on the player to deny him the opportunity.

Official Monaco confirm they have signed Moutinho and Rodriguez on 5 year deals Ed04 will be disapointed big Rodriguez fan! fredthered {Ed004's Note - yeah gutted he will be atop player. That is now Gotze and Rodriguez gone}

Believable16 Unbelievable1

Apparently Rodriguez accounts for €45 million of the €70 million. Well I can safely say United wouldn't have offered that, I hope the huge transfer fee doesn't put pressure on him he could be a top player for them.

Ed (s) how can Monaco get away with such ludicrous spending given FFP regulations? {Ed004's Note - I am not sure}

Agree0 Disagree0

In EPL FFP does not start till this upcoming season 2013/14 clubs can't make a loss over 105m over 3 years if I read it right :) which I probably didn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

FFP only applies to teams in UEFA cups. As Monaco will not get anywhere near one in the foreseeable future, they can spend as much as they like.

Agree0 Disagree0

They were promoted last season so next season they could be in champions league or europa

No James Rodriguez for United. Joao Moutinho, and Porto team-mate James Rodriguez have both joined big-spending Monaco in a £60million deal, according to Portuguese source A Bola.

Mike Phelan and Eric Steel have also, eft the club! Red91

Believable22 Unbelievable8

Thank gor for that

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Big mistake getting rid of Eric Steel he helped De Gea a lot and even learnt Spanish so it would be easier to communicate with him!

Agree2 Disagree0

Eric steel is one of, if not the best goal keeping coach around! This is not good news if true!

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would you qwant rid of Steele!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi Eds

What coaches do you think Moyes will bring with him? His assistant Steve Round?

Apart from Mike and Eric what other of our coaches are looking to leave ( I hope we keep Rene) {Ed004's Note - I do not know. Wasnt there rumours Eric might retire though}

Agree0 Disagree0

Steele is retiring from the game and his contract was out this summer anyway. mike had already arranged to leave the club after Ferguson announced his retirement so moyes could bring someone in as his no2 to help him settle though don't be surprised if RENE MEULENSTEEN may take the set up as recommended by fergie

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris Woods as Goalkeeping coach, I am told he already speaks Spanish (unconfirmed), but surely his USA duties would have warranted that.
Plus its really easy to learn, I did years ago, and still fluent

Fabio Coentrao looks likely to be leaving Real Madrid this summer and bookies favourite to join Jose at Chelsea according to Sly Spurts?
Would we be interested in him as a long term replacement of Evra? thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable27

24 May 2013 10:43:45
No, he is very poor defensively. I would want him to go to Chelsea, that way it would put us in pole position to sign Luke Shaw.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a good buy but surely Luke Shaw from Southampton would be a better option (cheaper and British)? Chelsea are supposedly interested in both but if Mourinho goes for what he knows already then perhaps we have a good shot at Shaw.

Shappy took the words right out of my mouth.
