Today I would like to talk about some things that have brought a massive smile to my face. Firstly the announcement that the media centre at Carrington is going to named the Jimmy Murphy centre in very large letters. Jimmy Murphy takes second place to no one in his importance to our great club and anyone who doesn't know who he is or what he did should read the excellent book about him called Starmaker. Secondly I have seen some clips on tv today of the game last night and Rio is jumping around like a school kid when we score. It is on record that i have been no fan of Rio's off field antics and his wannabe Gangster routine but loved seeing the passion as we scored. That and Anderson sat next to him wondering if McDonalds would still be open on the drive home. I AM KLOOT

Shoulda named the whole place after him.

I noticed Anderson too! He seems pis*ed that he wasn't playing. Or he was daydreaming about what KFC special is on today.

hi ed/eds .........just wanted to know that is there by any chance we could make a move for yann m vila in january {Ed002's Note - I would doubt it right now.}

M'Villa has just got into huge trouble at Rennes and could be banned for 12 months, no one should buy him now. Disgusting attitude too!

Why what did he do?

I felt the problem with our defence was carrick, he was caught out of position the two times they scored, the mid-field should be made of cleverley and anderson with carrick or fletcher cos clev and ando can drift wide wen we break. Selection has been our problem, we hv to hv a steady CB pair so that they can work on their understanding like vidic and ferdinand

Buttner was a big problem yesterday

Big Mac, why?

Sydney!

Buttner lost his man for both goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Great going forward Syd but like the other poster said, he lost his player on both goals, and he got caught out a lot on the break. Inexperience more than anything I suppose

Not his fault, he's not a defender and everybody but the manager knows it. The managers job is to put his players in the best position to succeed and he keep putting Carrick in defense. I don't blame the player but the manager

Agree0 Disagree0

With all due respect MOGUL how can you contemplate a steady back four with Vidic Smalling and Jones injured we will have to be patient

So the second goal had nothing to do with carrick letting a player embarrass him on the wing by not putting a challenge in and letting the player have a free run at goal then no??

Agree0 Disagree0

We cannot blame the defence alone for conceding goals. We gave the ball away cheaply in midfield. We have done the same for some time. Better possession in midfield will make the defence look better. Sorry, but this is not new. We have all known this for a while.

Buttner lost his man for both goals. Lack of concentration cost us at the back not Carrick.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said it elsewhere, but the problem in the first twenty minutes, and the reason for both goals conceded was a lack of organisation at the back. Buttner being overloaded on the wing is a risk you run with this formation, but the holding midfielder and the centre backs should be organised enough to deal with this.

Instead we had a makeshift defence with Carrick out of position and a rusty Fletcher. There is no point reading too much into that passage of play, if we have any luck it will be the last time we ever see that back four.
