Lewondowski to Bayern is a pretty much done deal Heynckes in his press conference says 'We know Gotze will be joining us and I don't think Lewandowski will be hanging around too long either'

Thats hardly conclusive proof. He never said that Lewandowski was joining any team in particular, just that he doesn't expect him to hang around Dortmund long. I would say Bayern are ther more likely destination for Lewandowski, but nothings signed sealed or delivered yet.

I hope your right, he's vastly over rated. If Rooney stays there's no need for another striker to be signed, however were we to sell one of the present strikers then the player to go for is Christian Benteke, he's only 22 and has single handedly kept Villa in the Premier League. I wasn't keen at first but the more I think about it, Fellaini would be a great sgning for us playing along side Carrick just in front of the back four. If we could then get one of the following, Fabregas, Modric or Thiago then those two signings are all that would be needed for next season.
Raffa {Ed004's Note - Yes because signing Fellaini and Benteke is going to strike fear throughout Europe}

Agree0 Disagree2

Yeah it could we'll be able to beat up everyone think about it Vidic Fellani and Benteke would mess people up.
DHK

Agree0 Disagree2

It can also mean that bvb w8ll be more weaker in league next year to chellange them. Gotze is theirs and lewy is also leaving to whom so ever its not his concern. So it almost ends bvbs builded team spirit.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, that's a stupid comment to make as a reply.
Did Greece have anyone that stood out when they won the Euros? Did Porto have an amazing team when they won the Champions League? Did Man City win anything in Europe the last 2 years while having on paper an amazing squad? Do we have that many world class players in our team, yet won the league?

You don't need a team full of world class players to win. You just need a team that works together. Ath Bilbao ring any bells?

melwing28 {Ed004's Note - so you honestly think by signing Benteke and Fellaini to ultimately replace Rooney and Scholes is going to bring us to the next level? We're was I wrong in my statement? Are Barcelona go 'Oh shit utd have Fellaini in midfield' or are they going to go Messi target that useless thug of a player and he will eventually get sent off? Granted they may look good in the premiership but if we look average when it comes to technically good players like Bilbao last year how on earth do you expect us to beat them sort of teams with even less quality in our squad?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, I never said anything about those two being signed. My point was that we don't have to sign the best players in the world in every position, every sport have proven that a team with all the top players never works. Did Berba really live up to his price (which in my mind we didn't need him in the first place). As it's nice getting a high priced player, it doesn't mean it's going to work.
I personally don't think Benteke is an option, he could be a one season wonder for all we know.

melwing28 {Ed004's Note - So you condemned my statement but try to back track by saying you didn't mention the players? So what do you disagree about in my statement. As obviously the world wouldn't not worry massively if we sign those two players and madrid sign Bale, barcelona get Neymar, Chelsea get cavani etc}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, I haven't backtracked at all, my point has been the same, however you are clearly missing it, at the same time demonstrating it.
Bale to Madrid, is that going to prove anything? They can't play as a team as it is with all their superstars, let alone win anything! Chelsea need more than a striker to save them. Neymar to Barca forces them into a formation change.

You do not need the best players to win. Surely us winning the league this year proved this??

Melwing28 {Ed004's Note - And surely us failing in Europe the past few years and struggling against TECHNICALLY good teams points we need players who can play good football not target men and thugs}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, Benteke appears to have a lot of technical ability, though I would rather we signed Lewandowski.

Rooney's fall-out with Ferguson came at a meeting last month, which prompted the former United manager to claim that Rooney had asked to leave after nine years at Old Trafford.
But that meeting has now been described by sources as more an exchange between a frustrated player and his manager, in which Rooney expressed his exasperation at being dropped and frequently substituted.
Having received little encouragement from Ferguson, Rooney is said to have suggested that if he were not going to be played then he might as well be sold.
It is understood that while Sir Alex might have regarded such a statement as tantamount to requesting a transfer, there was no formal communication asking for a move and that it was a statement made in the heat of the moment, driven by Rooney's desire to play more.
Wayne Rooney is to have urgent summit talks with new Manchester United manager David Moyes as the club attempt to resolve the impasse over the England striker's future created by his fall-out with Sir Alex Ferguson.
While Moyes is preparing for a family holiday and Rooney is on England duty this week, it is understood that both parties are keen to meet as soon as possible to settle 27-year-old Rooney's future, which increasingly looks as though it will be at United.
The club now accept that Rooney has never submitted a formal transfer request and, although Moyes will want to meet the player personally before final decisions are made, with Rooney committed to the club and Moyes an open admirer of the player, a resolution seems imminente

Sorry for the cut and paste but that has always been my take on the situation and will be in the papers tomorrow.
Not saying it's true but I agree with it

Believable44 Unbelievable6

I agree about this. What Fergie said, after his final Old Trafford game, sounded all a bit mealy mouthed to me, and most unusual of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm really worries that he stays, I want him sold, no player should demand more playing or be pissed off if substituted off! Especially when they've been playing so badly, and have been lucky enough for the manager to continuously pick them. What will the other players think, if they train and work hard and don't get a sniff while this baboon is threatening to leave, weather it was formal or informal. I really hope he is sold because he is stopping the development of our team and seems like a rotten apple!

Sulei

Agree1 Disagree3

He messed up could of said no was a communication error but he didnt, what would of got backing of utd fans would of been if he burst out saying I want to stay and win trophies. For some reason management think he is STILL a massive player but for me not. 100 percent or nothing

Agree1 Disagree0

Like SAF said, an in form Wayne Rooney would not getting substituted. It's so true, I hope Wayne wakes up and smells the coffee, he really has to knuckle down in training maybe work on his fitness and not take his role in the club for granted purely because he's be instrumental for us over the past 8-9 seasons. We're a top club which means all our players constantly have to put in 100% and if he isn't going to do that then he has no right to get Moody, I think that's the way SAF thinks about it, certainly the way I do.

Just find it strange how Wayne was hidden under his cap, not celebrating at all with the team during the parade he looked guilty of something. Personally I hope he stays because now Scholes has gone who else can hit those mouth watering 70 yard passes?

Ozwald

Agree2 Disagree0

He was getting subbed because he has played crap for 18 months. Messi would be getting subbed if he put Rooney's performances. Also if he hasn't asked to leave he would've corrected it within minutes, it's been three weeks now and no correction. Utd are playing it well, they want him to go and Rooney being as thick as he is is making himself look like the person. We could have two world class players for his wages it's an absolute no brainer for me.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2013 10:37:39
He wouldn't be subbed or dropped if he was fit so its his own fault. I still say sell him.

Agree2 Disagree0

The biggest problem with Rooney staying will be that Kagawa will again be rotated to the wings.

And to be honest. for the modern game Kagawa is just a better player for the position behind the striker. Rooney did a lot for the club but I think it would be the best for him and United to sell him. Preferably to PSG and not another english club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting that some are saying get rid of Rooney, but not to another english prem club. The assumption therefore is that he is someone to be feared. Wouldn't it be sensible to have a player feared by yourselves in your team, or is he just a commodity a card just to be traded. Rooney is human, he wants to play, yes he earns a lot of money and yes you pay for elements of this, but like you he is just another dad/husband with all the human emotions that go with it.

One of their gm said that they hope to tie up falcao shortly and that there will be 4 to 5 other players of falcao quality joining believe it or not. They might make city and chelsea look like bargain hunters the way they are going lol

A English club are set to bid for Bale. A contract is on the table but bale has asked for time to consider a move to the rival club.

He is however he doesn't feel the move is right for him willing to sign on.

Sorry should read, If he doesn't feel the moves right he's willing to sign on.

He did apparently say not that long ago that if offers did come in for him, he would rather stay in England and to be honest can you see him wanting to join City? I think IF we do go in for him, we have a strong chance of getting him and I honestly think he should be our priority signing. Especially if Wayne leaves.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd use Rooney as part of an exchange if Spurs were interested in him at all

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs are not interested in rooney? And the sad fact is bale isn't interested in united either!

Agree0 Disagree1

There's a Spurs fan on here for every Bale rumour absolutely terrified he's leaving. I hope for his sake he stays because I really fear he's topping himself otherwise.

Zidane (futur sporting director at Real Madrid) : «Cr7 going nowhere».

imo if they failed to recruit Neymar, who is likely to join Barcelona, Bale could be real target for them.

I would love to see Bale in United shirt but not for 50M, maybe in few years. Anyway, Daniel Levi his not going to make buisness with us any time soon.

JLBER84

Believable8 Unbelievable12

According to rumours the Neymar offer is a "screen" so the media put all their attention on him so they can concentrate on Bale.

Agree0 Disagree0

Amazed that Neymar has gone for 28 million euros. I think Madrid will go for Isco as I think that Bale is going to stay at Spurs. I do think that Ronaldo will be sold though, realistically, if he refuses to sign a new deal, he has to leave. I think we will be top of the pole! Shaw, Strootman, Alcantara and Ronaldo would be a perfect summer!

Agree1 Disagree2

50 mil for Bale I would definitely go in form him. Bayer Munich spent 40mil on a centre defensive mid (javi martinez) and look what he did for them. If you spend money you compete in Europe. 50 mil for Bale, imagine how much better we would be with him. We would challenge far better in Europe and keep kicking on in England.

Agree1 Disagree0

Martinez was the standout must buy for a host of top European clubs last season and gas proved it with Champs League success. Just as RVP becoming available for us won us the league. The point is price becomes less relevant when you look at it as an opportunity cost, ie if you had a budget for say a £20m midfielder but a true world class talent like Martinez paying that extra £20m as Bayern have proved can be the difference between success and failure at the very highest level. £22m looks a real bargain now for a 29yo Van Persie and I guarantee you £50m looks a bargain for a 23yo Bale now. He is the must buy if the summer and regardless of Rooney staying or much needed reinforcements being brought in United must bid for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barcelona paid 28 m for Neymar plus 2 friendlies and if barcelona win La Liga in his firsts 3 years, which is likely, then barcelona will pay 23 more millions to make a total of 50M. Richard Mendez ESPN commentator said this yesterday in a match between Vitoria and Internacional (Brasileirao 2013).

Hi Ed,

Could you confirm the two teams who have the bids accepted for Neymar jnr {Ed002's Note - It is not quite as simple as that but there are offers on the table from both Real Madrid and Barcelona. There would still be some considerable negotiation to be done but Santos has been pushed in to a corner and will almost certainly need to sell this summer. Santos are expecting a further offer this weekend.}

Believable10 Unbelievable0

25 May 2013 11:15:41
Who are the other team expected to make an offer this weekend? {Ed002's Note - It is unimportant.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Are Santos expecting a bid from another team or a improved bid from Real or Barca ED02? {Ed002's Note - Another team.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Expecting a further offer? From who? If united got him it would be best signing the club's made since Denis Law. Can't see it though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be Monaco or PSG. Chelsea and City aren't interested anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but I don't rate Neymar, he's obviously got skill but the Brazilian league is not very good. Did you watch him play for Brazil against England? Practically non existent. Then the same again when Brazil played Russia at Stamford Bridge! I can see him being a massive flop, especially in the Prem because he's paper thin.

Why pay the same sort of money for him as you would for Bale when Bale is proven in the PL and superb at set pieces as well?
