Ed I read a rumor that Garay has joined Zenit. Is this true?

{Ed002's Note - Zenit nearly signed Garay in early February and there were no recent offers that matched his asking price so Zenit have returned with a better terms for the player himself. Juventus would have liked to bid but does not have the funds to do it at this time. An approach was made to see if Real Madrid would be interested in taking him back as there is a very good chance they will lose Varane. But right now, Zenit looks to be where he will eventually end up.}

Agreed Patzi. But left back and central midfield are the two main problem areas. We could get by without signing a centre back if it came down to it and similarly on the wings.

No Fresh, we couldn't get by without signing a CB, Smalling, Jones and Evans, all injury prone? We will concede about 50 goals next season without a new CB

There is absolutely no way we can cope without signing a cb in summer. Smalling, Jones and Evans are all inconsistent and injury prone let alone Smalling and Jones covering Rafael at RB. If Rafael and/or any CB got injured we would have not enough quality in depth to cope. A world class centre back is needed to lead our back line.
Though I agree we do need a new LB and two CM's, we have to address the large problem we have at CB. Then focus on wingers.

De Ja Vue . Comes to mind here. remember last year when Moyes was elected . He started his job on 1st July . Which left us no options in the transfer market. Got a stron feeling we are heading up that road again with Van Gaal . Not going to get him until after World Cup, when all major targets would have been snapped up, as proved last year we can't depend on woody to get our transfer deals in place . hope to god I'm wrong . but my mind tells me I won't be
