You have to say that, if Bale played like he did today everyday then he would be well worth the figures being thrown around for him. Very much reminds me of Nani, brilliant one day and useless the next. World class today though from what I have seen on MOTD.

Fresh!

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Giggs used to be the same. As good as he was he had many off days between the good. a lot of wingers have days like that. It's just that you only really remember the good things. Just that Nani does very few good things. He isn't even having 1 good game in 10

So Fergie went to meet Mourinho after the City game. He also spoke to Ronaldo. Now Ronaldo is adimmant that no transfer terms were spoken about, but do we believe a word he says when it comes to transfers? I bet any money that Gill and Mendes were at the hotel as well...

Could we be looking at Mourinho & Ronaldo next summer? I hope so. Mourinho is one of the few people that has a big enough personality to take over from SAF, and Ronaldo is just Ronaldo.

Fresh!

Believable17 Unbelievable34

I would only want Mourinho if he brings Ronaldo. Otherwise its Pep all the way for me.

Dan

Agree5 Disagree1

Jose and SAF had tea at the Lowry in Manchester,Mourinho has an offer from PSG in the summer if he deos go it is much more likely Ronaldo will go to PSG then return to us

RED91

Agree2 Disagree1

Ronaldo didn't say his "only god know" line so they probably ddnt talk about a return

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergie and Mourinho always had a good relationship as did Fergie and Ronaldo...Id expect people are adding 2+2 and getting 5....its not beyond the realms of possibility that they were just catching up - for the record I do hope I am wrong and both come in the summer!

Lads Calm down, Giggs and Scholes wont be around forever. Yes they are legends but them staying at the club now and in the future will only damage their reputations and hinder the clubs progress, Im sure they see it that way to.
I think this is theirs and Fergies final season. He is hoping to end with a bang and provide his great servants giggs and scholes with one (or two) final memmories and RVP was purchased to make this season a winning one.
During January we will see what the future holds for manchester United. It will be Fergies final chance to bring in who he wants and lay a foundation for (hopefully) a successful future for manchester United, So to all calling for giggs and scholes to hang up their boots, Be patient and just enjoy having these legends play and grace us with their ability for one more season.

Great post pal

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunatly there not gracing us with there ability,, thats the problem they cant perform to the required level anymore.after watching them all of there career it is sad to see both of them struggle and be a shadow of there former selves.
johndenton

Agree0 Disagree1

So while we throw away points with Scholes and Giggs in the team your message is dont worry lads enjoy, be patient and be grateful that these two legends can be seen getting ran all over by average players.....nice one !

Devil Dust.

Agree1 Disagree0

These Guys deserve a chance to show that they can still play, Scholes has lost alot of pace but the way he still pings the ball across the pitch, the way Giggs shows his tactical awareness on the pitch, Yes they both have lost pace and are a shadow of their former selves, But they offer Experience to our other players aswell as being role models for our next generation of stars. They do some what hinder our results but we are top of the league and qualified for the next stage of the champions league. Am i wrong in saying that we should embrace these players and celebrate them while we still have them rather then slate them for trying to help us in gaining more trophies?

Agree1 Disagree1

The trouble is they are not helping us...they are hindering us.

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Legends in their prime yes, but they are not good enough anymore. You can't hold back time and they are both too old, too slow and too error prone.
The Manager must make tough decisions now or it will cost us more points and trophies. Forget sentiment - that will cost us more points.
Bench roles at most for them barring an injury crisis and they must retire at the end of the season, if not sooner.

how can anyone seriously suggest moyes as manager? Nowhere near the level of a united manager. Everton are a totally different kettle of fish. People say o but fergie came from aberdeen. Yes but fergie had won trophies there. Whats moyes won? Also thirty years ago we were a different team practically mid table. Now there's more pressure. I doubt moyes could cope with it.

Believable17 Unbelievable22

That's a little bit of an over reaction. Yes moyes isn't proven at a top top club, but he is evidently one of the best managers in the league, and has been for a decade now. Yes he has never had much money to spend, so we don't know what he would be like with a big budget, but then Mourinho and Pep both have more than their fair share of poor dealings (as does fergie let's not forget). He knows how the premier league works, he doesn't come with a massive ego, nor all the fanfare and media attention.
I'm not saying he's my first choice to replace fergie, but to say that moyes isn't anywhere near the level of utd manager is a bit misguided

Jaxer

Agree1 Disagree1

Also further to this, Moyes has won the old 2nd division with a poor, poor Preston side, then almost got them promoted again the next year, and he has won the LMA manager of the year 3 times, showing that he can handle teams from the 3rd tier of English football to the very top, without inheriting a genius team composed of 3 of the best players ever to play the game (Pep), and without spending millions and millions of pounds whilst simultaneously disrupting most of the rest of the squad (Jose).

Jaxer

(honestly he isn't my 1st choice to replace fergie, but it really annoys me when people dont give him enough credit; he has proved himself at multiple levels of English football, and should be given the chance to show that he can do it on the very highest of stages, but i would prefer Klopp to take over)

Agree2 Disagree1

Plus when has moyes managed a big game in midweek aswell, rotation is key and he has no expirence of that either

Agree0 Disagree0

On the budget Moyes has had at Everton, he's done really well. He's not my first choice, but give him the credit he deserves. Pep has no experience outside Barca and they are a well oiled machine, from juniors to first team. Though he's obviously talented, no one knows just how good he'll be away from barca. Mourniho won't be coming to OT unless the Glazer give him a 10m salery and a 200m transfer kitty. Can anyone see that happening? It's more likely then cr7 returning but very unlikely. I have a feeling that it's betweem Blanc and Moyes! Neither are as flamboyent as the Iberian two, but I'll support anyone who comes - as long as it's not the fat waiter or Dalglish. Also I feel that SAF will go the season after next.

Rumours is that pep may refuse Chelsea job next year and could extend his sabbatical for an extra year to take the man Utd job when SAF retires. That poses three points.

1: Would Pep automatically be offered the job first over other managers? I.e Blanc and Klopp.

2: The fact it mentions he is prepared to wait an extra year for SAF to retire, does that mean SAF will definitely stay on for an extra year or just me presuming too much.

3: his representative says he likes stability in a team which is why he may reject Chelsea, just shows what sacking multiple managers can do to a clubs reputation. He also mentions he likes the set-up of our club so would he actually make any major changes or stick to the clubs roots and just change minor things here or there?

Personally I would love for Pep to be installed within the next two years maybe next year as assistant for one year to integrate him in.

Just my thoughts after reading into that post.

Id think hed def be offered the job before blanc and i dont think klopp has plans 2 leave anytime soon

i can't believe some people are still seriously suggesting wesley sneijder as a signing. Our midfield suffers from a lack of pace already with giggs, scholes and carrick so i don't see how sneijder would vastly improve things as he's hardly the fastest. Also we have kagawa and rooney for the advanced role not to mention anderson. And no sneijder couldn't play from deep as has been suggested. Sneijder had his chances to join us and didn't. Firstly when Calderon was at madrid he floated a cash and sneijder deal for ronaldo. Sneijder flatly rejected being a make weight. Then moved to inter. Then after one season in italy he used our name to screw inter for a pay rise to the mega deal he's on now thats causing problems. Then when we did try to sign him from inter two years ago his wage demands broke the deal. So he's had his chances and messed them up so get over it that its very unlikely we'd be interested again.

I have been reading that Ajax fear we will sign Fischer, can any of the eds shed any light in this, had anything changed and do you expect him to sign for us?

Caolán. {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - Viktor Fischer is still subject to interest from Manchester United, Hamburg and Werder Bremen.}

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Ed002, do you have a ball park figure that you think would be needed to snare Fischer?

Fred {Ed002's Note - It is not as simple as that, sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed do you think he will sign for us?

Caolán. {Ed002's Note - It would be guesswork to say at this time.}

If Jonny Evans was Spanish or Italian everyone in world football would be raving about him..... If he played for Barcelona everyone would be raving about him.....Just because he is Northern Irish and plays for Man United he gets stick and criticism where there is no faults....He is the most under rated player I have seen in years... He is absolute class and I think he is only getting better.

Believable66 Unbelievable11

The best I saw him play was when he played for N. Ireland against Portugal. He was intercepting every ball, winning header after header and drove his team forward from defence. More performances like that and people will take notice.

Covey

Agree6 Disagree0

I think if we pair him with vidic or smalling and put tough tackling midfielder in there then our defence would improve to a large extent coz i think ferdinand has lost his qualities with age

Agree3 Disagree1

He started his united career really well but then he had a bad spell and he lost all his confidence but now he is back to his best again

Cooper

Agree1 Disagree0

Well a couple of seasons back he was so dreadful that I thought Johny English could do a better job than him but the way he has matured and put in some good performances he can be a very good asset to United.

SHAITAN

Agree2 Disagree1

If we signed Baines and Sandro then had a defensive set up like this:

_____________DDG
Rafael__Smalling_Evans__Baines
____________Sandro

Then i feel we'd have a very solid defence and an excellent platform from which to build on. Then when you consider our attacking players such as Rooney RVP Kagawa Valencia Hernandez Welbeck and Young then we would be a very good team.

Shappy

Agree3 Disagree0

Evans was as highly thought of as Pique and has just as much ability. Remember he is only 24 as well. He is a top defender and I completely agree with you that he gets slated for no reason. Our conceding goals is nearly always down to our midfield being torn apart.

Agree2 Disagree0

Totally agree... fought his corner for years, and the fight is getting easier by the week! Would like to see him fill out the way Pique did too

Agree2 Disagree0

He is starting to become one of the first names on the team sheet.

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree evans been the best defender for a while he throws himself at all the shoots starting to get a few goals as well only young aswell!

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he has only given away one free kick aswell. Class for a center half.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is getting better. He still is not the best reader of the game and he IS too slow.

Agree0 Disagree1

Because he has scored a couple of goals he is now a great defender? Sorry the guy is very average and gets turned in and aroudn the box all the time, for me he is a slightly better version of Phillip Senderos, and that isnt a good thing! Jones and Smalling are much better defenders for me, squad player maybe pushing for a starting place when Vidic and Rio arent there, I hope not
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

STuey, gotta disagree with you there. I've said it before, Jonny Evans will be 1st choice centre back for years to come with Jones and smalling fighting it out to be along side him. Clarko

Agree0 Disagree0

Johnny reminds me of Beckenbauer the way he can come out of defense with the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

He gets caught out of position too much and out muscled by big centre forwards. A good back up for the squad. Reminds you of Beckenbauer, must be Frank long lost cousin of the famous German one Franz!

Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckenbauer. If anyone reminds you of Beckenbauer surely its Jones? Capello and SAF have compared Jones to Beckenbauer.

a website reporting that pep guardiola is holding out to replace SAF according to a representative of his. I really hope this is true but I'd like to see him come in at some point to work with SAF before taking full control.
What does ando have to do to start a game last two seasons he has been much improved but isn't getting the game time. One last thing I agree that a lb is needed but evra still looks good going forward.

Believable30 Unbelievable2

I'm in a dillema. I would rather have Pep than Mourinho but if Mourinho can bring Ronny back then I would rather have Mourinho. If Pep could bring Busquets or Fabregas then that would make me think again.

Dan

Agree2 Disagree0

As long as its not Moyes

Pardoe

Agree3 Disagree1

Yeah, as long as Guardiola brings the Barca medical team, our squad will be non fatigued and Daehli with grow a few more inches in height and hair from strange places. But joking aside, guardiola if he were too stay for several years would be ideal. Either him or Mourinho, Klopp possibly, but look what happened to AVB when he moved. Please no Moyes or Blanc straight after SAF.

the constant moaning is terrible , the reason why ando is not playing regularly is because he always gets injured if played constantly, fergie is keeping him fit for the christmas period and knockout stages of cl.

all these points will be crucial come the end of the season and i think we will win the premier league because both city and chelsea are not that good.

nikz

Believable15 Unbelievable28

Oh great.. So u mean to say fergie is foresighter?
He can see when nd how will one ger injured?
Grow up mate... Injury are situations not planned.. Or else he would have saved vidic from getting out again. Come with some decent argument next time.
Rodio17

Agree3 Disagree1

So all this goes down the drain if Ando gets injured in the first game during the christmas period, doesn't it?

MUMBAI_BOY

So you're saying that our midfield is better than Chelsea's or city's? Yaya, Silva, nasri, Oscar, hazard , mata will walk into our midfield any day.

Anderson had a terrific affect on the game yesterday, obviously. However, when we start with him, he tends to run out of steam after an hour or so. He has earned the right of a run in the side however, even if he may need to be subbed for the last 20 -30 mins. We have the numbers, but not the quality in midfield, we could do with retireing Scholes and Giggs and playing Rooney further up the pitch. Cleverley just isn't United class to me, we need Wanyama and Eriksen. Alongside Carrick, maybe Anderson,Jones and Wayne if needed whold not only give us quantity, but quality too in our midfield. Kagawa, when recovered from his injury, can play just behing Wayne and RVP
Mik {Ed004's Note - From watching Eriksen he seems to prefer to play further up the pitch. I am not so sure he suits playing in a midfield 2}

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah I thought the same Ed, we need someone in the mould of Fabregas IMO because although he plays further up for Barca he can play deeper as well like he did at Arsenal. Cirigliano is who we need IMO, Ed what do you think about him? I think he is a future world class player who could literally play anywhere in midfield and be fantastic.

Dan {Ed004's Note - I haven't seen enough to judge him}

Agree0 Disagree0

I've not seen a huge amount of him just youtube snippets and a couple of highlights of river matches. The Argentines are holding him in the same breath as Aguero and are already reserving their number 5 shirt for him . In terms of prestige that is right up there with the united number 7 so it shows how highly rated he is!
