After Sunday defeat, do you think we need to sign a big player in the summer? I've heard lots of rumors today about Sneijder again.

Why wait until summer?! Unless someone from the Youth steps up, i.e. Pogba/ Morrison, I can see Fergie making some movements in January. Just my opinion, not fact at all!

After how abysmally we capitulated its no surprise is it?
Whether or not we buy in january is another thing.
But everyone could see we need at least 1 or 2 midfielders and its as sure as sh1te SAF knows it

Yeah I read alot about that and to be fair we need him! needed him before the city game, Our kids will be great players but what we dont have now that the likes of Butt,Neville etc had was a player that could turn the place on its head. remember Cantona? he helped guide those young players. We do need Sneijder and then bust the bank wide open and get one of those young promising mids. But we do need the experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think he'll be bought in the january transfer maybe summer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, I ment January :P Yeah we just need 1 or 2 midfielders that can give us more options in attack. Fletcher didn't have a great game and we need someone who can defend as well as attack when needed.

Martinez is quality but not the most combatative midfielder I have ever seen. Would be happy to have him but not at any cost.

according to football gossip we could be battling it out with inter Milan for javi Martinez the price just 17m, if this is true (hope so) then it would be a steal and we can't afford to let another top player slip through our fingers, especially for that price. it also says we are interested in LB alba.
(anyone think there is any truth to this?)

First time this player is linked to us..i dnt know why he is still left on the side by big teams..he is a class.. a real mid field power house that united need after keano left.. i wish this be true soon.. he and anderson can move great along with cleverly and pogba in rotation rodio17 {Ed004's Note - He is a phenomenal talent, no doubt about it}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think we need a left back, Fryers was brillant tonight

Another source with the Martinez rumour, It's looking good.... HERBIE

If we are in any race with Inter, we'll lose. Sorry for the negativity, but after the past few windows coming and going, I strongly feel we will never sign this midfield dynamo we so clearly need.

Sneijder will be sold to City if need be, they'll ship out a midfielder or two to accomoate Wes so Inter can afford Javi.

Ed, do you know if we'll see Khedira leave Madrid this summer? I know there was talk of a Khedira/Tevez swap deal but I can't see City having much use for him. They seem to be more keen on DiMaria anyways. Is Khedira not part of Real's plans anymore? If so, do you know who might be interested in him? He'd certainly do a job for United.

Matthew... {Ed002's Note - Khedira will be offered to Manchester City as part of a deal for Tevez. They will probably not be interested in him as they target Di Maria. Khedira will then be offered as a part exchange deal for other players Real Madrid are interested in. They are certainly willing to let him go. I don't see him moving to Old Trafford.}

Well i found this very interesting indeed -

Just how reliable could this be? published on the man utd official website.. although that's never stopped absolute jargon filling up the 'speculation' column before haha!

Thinking logically, we couldn't get a 27 year old, apparently £35m rated Sneijder. Now we're going to go for a Cup tied, half year older, £40m Sneijder.

To me, that sounds daft, as good as he is, I'd much rather strengthen the midfield with 2 decent signings rather than a "big name".

There's plenty of decent young talent that would cost considerably less than Sneijder, which would be a wiser use of funds in my opinion.

Hi Guys,
Anyone got any news on Iturbe,....have been checking the official FC Porto website and he's not on the squad list, checked other sites and he's listed as No 27 but doesn't seem to have made any appearances yet. Strange considering he's the 'new Messi' (sick to death of that label).
Is it true that Porto are essentially acting as a feeder club for us on this occassion, albeit in a convoluted way? Was excited by him based upon Argentine U20 performances.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

He does look great, i think he has made his debut for Porto when he came on as a sub. I too have heard off him going to FC Porto purely to get a European work permit.. All i'm going to say is he looks like a great project.. Would like to see what Fergie could turn him into.

As far as I'm aware there isn't an agreement already in place to sign him, he may end up here, but that wasn't part of the plan as far as Porto are concerned.

As for him not playing, apparently he's still learning and adapting to the style of play in Europe and to living in Portugal.

Very nice people r writing today abt players i was also looking for.. porto is never a feeder club to us..if he turn out to be a gem...we have to pay big money..no option.. and as result he wil end up at city or real or barca or one of milans... as we rarely spend big.. that all knows now rodio17

Syd. Eds, Can anyone please tell me what happened to Brazilian Dodo? I thought we had an agreement to sign him?

ONE UNITED {Ed002's Note - Manchester United have was an option which can be exercised (a) until the player reaches 21 in 2013, or (b) until another team express an interest in buying the player and Manchester United decline to match any offer made. Dodo went on loan to Bahai and as far as I know is still there.}
