Is nobody excited to see Chicharito return very time soon? Enough rest and this is gonna be a Mexican Nistelrooy.

Believable28 Unbelievable6

Yeah man, was thinking about it the other day and it just hit me I know he's been beefing himself up a bit at the gym to cope with the physicality of the EPL, should be sweet watching him running on to balls from anderson and cleverly, and soon to be fletcher (whoop, finally)

Bring on arsenal, should be entertaining to say the least ;)

I believe our interest in Sneijder and (obviously) Nasri is now over, however Fergie will try to sign one last player before giving up. Mario Gotze is the final target, but I doubt we will offer anything over £20-25 million so it all depends on where Dortmund stand on terms of valuating the player. If we fail with Gotze I think that will be it this summer, but I personally am happy to give Anderson, Cleverly and Pogba a chance at least until January to see if they are the real deal.

United legends

I have seen a few posts seeming to give up on this transfer window and hope that January will save us, if or perhaps when it all goes wrong. I would be interested to know who you think would be available and not cup tied in January who could be a realistic purchase?

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Goetze is the best young talent for his positon in Europe. Right now nobody else would outbid us but if we wait that will change.

Agree0 Disagree0

'Red Man'

Torres played for Chelsea in the second half of last season in the CL after playing in the Europa for Liverpool, I think you are allowed one player to play for you that has played for another team.

Gotze is the best player around, he is already on par with Sneijder and he is just 19, but Dortmund do not want to sell this season. I expect we will see both Gotze & Kagawa leave next season, especially if they finish outside the CL places.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry sydney, you think gotze is on par with Sneijder?
what am i reading...

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with ozwald gotze is going to be a very good player but his not on par with sneijder
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotze was far better than Sneijder was last season. Gotze can do everything Sneijder can do, he just lacks his experience.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Red Man: I would prefer it if we didn't sign anybody in January, but if we were really struggling (which after the spurs performance i highly doubt we will be), we may need to sign a CM. In terms of whether or not they were cup tied, I believe as long as they would have a positive impact on our domestic season, then Fergie would not be too fussed.

I've been saying for the past 3 years that Anderson has the potential to be a world class player, he just needs a bit of consistency and luck with injuries, things he has never had. I think this season he will be very high on the scoring and assists charts as long as he can stay fit. Also Cleverly seems to be a very good player, he brings a certain degree of flair in which i didn't believe he possessed when I watched him on loan at wigan last season.

Gotze is the only player we are now interested in signing, but I would say it is still only 50/50 whether we sign him or not. Fergie is relatively pleased with the squad strength, and if Anderson and Cleverly can continue this promising partnership, in 2-3 years we could have a formidable partnership in the center of our midfield.

Not sure whats going on with fletcher, but at this rate he wont get much of a look in.

Surprisingly im getting worried by arsenal this weekend i could see there attack scoring a goal or two through are weakened defence. Hopefully they won't but i'm still a bit concerned

Believable8 Unbelievable22

I wouldn't worry about an Arsenal team with Wilshere, Cesc, Nasri & Song in it, I certainly aren't worried about a team without them in.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you been the last few months? :S
arsenal are shocking atm, they have no key figures in midfield and no one to control the back..

United's BACKUP defence, kept a clean sheet against one of the most attacking teams in the premierleague... Spurs (although they didn't have modric)

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

You are clearly not a united fan son....

Clearly you would see that at present we have rafael and vidic out....fabio is more than capable of stepping in and replacing rafael as is smalling as he has showed he can also step into that position.

Dont need to mention Jones as he's obviously a class act.....

So when you say weakened defence, the only real missing link would be vidic's experience, but I dont think that makes any difference as Jones quality is good enough to cope with the likes of arshavin, walcott, van persie and who ever else they have left? Arsenal are no longer the force they were, fact.....unless a miracle happens united have NOTHING to fear on Sunday and it will be a comfortable win.....how are you so deluded as to even think Arsenal's defence will be able to cope with the best attack force in the premiership lol

Away back onto the Arsenal web site and spread the word that you's are going to get annialated on Sunday :-)

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha clearly you don''t actually watch football, you just read the crap in the papers, arsenal would struggle to hit a barndoor with a machine gun atm, plus evans is in the form of his career an jones is showing why so many clubs wanted him and smalling is showing glimpses of rio in him, i cant wait for sunday, 4-0 united

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry. our 'weakened defence' kept a clean sheet v. tottenham didn't it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think our "weakened defence" is good enough for most teams in the premier league arsenal including. i think the quality of jones and smalling and the experience of evra and evans (he has played 80 odd games for united and fergie trusts him) will see us through and keeping in mind rio might return
dont worry mate we will be just fine
melbourne boy

Agree0 Disagree0

Weakened defence are u sure, think about what u have just said. We have two great up and coming centre halves in smalling and jones. They were unreal against spurs and spurs are a better team than arsenal. Just show Walcott down the winger and he becomes lost and runs it out of play 80% of the time. United 4 arsenal 0 bring on the 20th title.

If there's no more signing so what's the delay to the official team photo.

Believable14 Unbelievable4

Still think this has alot to do with the transfer window, maybe just maybe they are waiting to complete the signing of WESLEY SNEIJDER we can hope

UNITEDFORLIFE

Agree0 Disagree0

This isn't a good enough excuse for me to say that we will sign another player.

Agree0 Disagree0

We also have players like Gibson kuzacks (spelling) who are meant to be heading out

Agree0 Disagree0

As I know someone who works in the ticket office at United, I know the answer to the Team Photo issue.

United have used the same photographer for the past 15 years and he is currently unavailable.

Once he returns from his other commitments the photo will be done.

It makes me wonder when people say, sneijder won't drop his wages, Utd don't want him etc

nobody actually knows, has given any credible sources to back up statements.

The one thing that keeps my hopes alive is the fact that Moratti (2010) said 'Man Utd interested in signing Sneijder'

Also Van Der Kraan a known dutch journalist who speaks with Sneijder regularly claims (early aug 2011) he believes Sneijder will join Utd.

Also the fact Sneijder said in a interview on dutch TV translated into english claiming he would join Utd.

Also Rene Meulensteen (Utd coach) Eric Harrison (youth team coach legend), Cantona, Scholes, Neville, Beckham etc have all hinted at Sneijder being the right man.

Im not saying it will happen, im happy with what we have, but i really want to se Sneijder at Utd as i have admired him as a player for a long time and believe his experience would be invaluable.

Its enough for me to believe, a little hope that it could happen........

i dont think we will sign anyone else this window. i was maybe hoping the comments by gill and fergusson where an attempt to not appear desperate to sign a player preventing clubs asking for astronomical fees from us. However i now genuinely beleive that will be that in terms of spending and i have to ask myself have we improved ? replaced giggs with young scholes with cleverly. some may say yes i am in the opinion of not enough to reach fergussons goal of 'catching barcelona' and i am very disapointed. i was not desperate for a world class marquee signing just a signing of a great player with potential which shows fergusons intention.

Martin Chaquero, respeced Uruguayan journalist who's been tracking the Coates transfer, is saying Nacional have rejected Atletico's offer. He says it was better than Liverpool's, but Coates only wants to play for one club - LFC. This is a player who will play for the shirt.
A. Young or Phil Jones, on the other hand, are only at United because Manchester City didn't want them.
Sad but true.

Freedom of Onion

Believable6 Unbelievable27

Clubs don't reject an offer just because the player doesn't want to join the offering club.

They accept it and give the club permission to speak to the player. Whether or not the player wants to is another matter.

City can only hoover up so many players anyway.
What kind of sad and conveluted point are you trying to put across?

Maybe, just maybe, this whole Wes to MUFC thing was started just to get them both more followers on Twitter and to put her name out there in the UK and their tweets are scripted.

Or perhaps the Dutch schooling system is just superior to ours. Yeah, probably that.

Some English people can speak fluent Dutch ( Steve McClaren)
Fushball

Steve mclaren can't speak fluent Dutch... He attempts to put an accent on and it's hilarious

I made this point earlier, he tweets stuff that the inter fans should be interested in yet never does it in Italian. I.e training today etc. So he is doing it for English audience... But why? if man utd sign sniejder we will be capable of beating barcelona >?ED

Believable15 Unbelievable16

We are capable of beating barca on our day... but lets face facts they are a FAR better team than us or anyone else

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with the above post... We can beat them their manager even said it today they're not unbeatable... WS joining us wouldn't hurt would really improve our options in midfield but I don't think the players exsist to beat Barc when they play like they did against united in may sneijder, ronaldo, ganso, George best couldn't of even helped us barc are just to strong if we avoid them all throughout CL I feel we could win it

Agree0 Disagree0

George Best would enhance the quality of any team past or present that you can care to mention. Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

United can beat barca if they take out xavi and inesta them two feed the strikes and if you take out them your only left with messi but united dont have a strong enough midfield to do it

Agree0 Disagree0

We would have such a better chance with him in the team, what a presence he would have for us and he would but dat bit of fear in the oppositionbut with wat we have ,barca or any other top notch european side would not fear utd,and would realy give us a gamethey would b more confident playing against usi realy dnt know why fergi doesnt see dat we are weak this yearim flabergasted that he hasnt brought in a cm or two,im bewildered

Hi Ed002, I just wanted to know if you have heard anything regarding the departures of Berbatov and Nani? With a few days left in the market, do you still believe these players will be sold? Thanks in advance mate.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new Syd and it looks less likely that much will happen. Could of course be a sudden flurry on Monday or Tuesday - we'll see. I will be on the road so I am not sure I will be around too much.}

Believable1 Unbelievable5

I still think Berbatov could go, I don't think Nani will though. Not unless he is involved in a swap deal, but they are rare these days aren't they? I think Monday will be very busy, many medicals will take place on the Tuesday and Wednesday we will see many deals confirmed.

One more question for you Ed002, a simple yes or no answer will suffice. Do you believe United have tried to sign Sneijder in this window?????

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see Nani going anywhere. Valencias non-performance at Wembley will have convinced SAF to keep Nani. When hes on his game he's the best winger in the PL and will be more of a threat in Europe

Real madrid - yes
AC milan - yes
barca - maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate to say it but no sahin ozil khedira diarra gago kaka , xavi iniesta fabregas thiago busquets maschaerano people are gonna slag me off for saying that but im a realist young nani andersson valencia fletcher solid big game performers i believe and big things expected of cleverley pogba but i belive the team right now and the squad would benefit from a kagawa gotze ganso hazard eriksen martin type of player a defence unlocker cjwales 82

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrd - Yes
Ac Milan - Definately Yes
Barcelona - No
In addition to their midfield they bought fabregas and sanchez..so at the middle of the park we are way behind them..

Agree0 Disagree0

Real Madrid - Maybe
Barca - No Way
Milan - Yes

We needed at least more players to get anywhere near Barca before they strengthen their squad No doubt the in SAF we trust mob will be on questioning my support. Just remember the manner in which we lost to Barca in the CL final and what fergie said afterwards. I for one find it difficult to trust, and after just having purchased "this years" shirts feel my contribution allows me to vent my opinion.

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

You guys are way too optimistic

reality check is well and truely needed

Only team out of them 3 that we are capable of beating with our current squad is AC Milan who are absolutely rubbish now imo

Real and Barca's squad are just oozing with talent from goalkeeper right through to attack...

Not saying ours isnt, but in terms of midfield which is where the game is won, our midfield is miles behind both of theirs, park, giggs, cleverley, ando or fletcher wouldnt walk into either real or barca's first team

Where as most of the other x2 teams midifeld would walk into ours i.e. fabregas, iniesta, xavi, busquets, khadeira, sahin, ozil..........

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

I know they seems very strong but allways tactical formation is important for example do we have anyone in our players to control messi ronaldo or pato if we have we got very good chance

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank u robbo..

wake up call i reckon. i hate deluded fans. whether it be united's or any other. speak the truth it shall set u free. real n barca are way ahead of us n we need at least 2 more midfielders in the likes of a tiote/diarra in DM and sneijder/cani or Borja Valero of Villareal.

We need skilled experienced attacking midfielders. diego

Agree0 Disagree0

Real and Barca are on a different level. Hurts to say it but its true. The bookies very rarely get it wrong and they have Barca at close to evens for the CL Real are 3s with United out at 7/8s.
Alan Smith got it spot on last night. IF another side knocks Barca out United can win it otherwise their midfield has got better and ours is struggling to stand still

Agree0 Disagree0

In fairness to the optimists, what would you have United do? Give up if they end up playing Real Madrid or Barcelona? United will compete if need be. Regardless of any perceived gap in quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

No said said anything about giving up. United never gives up. Just stating the obvious and that is Real and Barca are way ahead, of course we would compete, we have to but the results will all be the same get beaten all over again.

Face it We aint good enough yet. diego

Agree0 Disagree0

Good squad good young players but still feel we are 2 midfielders short of being euro champs again sell berba and gibbo dead wood

Like i said he struggled through injuries in the last 12-18 months unfair to judge to kid right now fella thanks for ya reply and opion

Agree0 Disagree0

Morrison is exceptionally talented and if he can steer clear of trouble will definately be a big star, tunnicliffe from what i saw in youth cup games is a box to box midfielder who takes no prisioners, will keane is a natural goal scorer who is very calm in front of the goal, petrucci as others have said was unfortunate with injuries but seems to be ok and getting a decent run of games, pogba will probably be the first to break through very talented can really hit the ball from 25-30yds out and score some screamers and also already has the physique for the premier lg

Darren Fletcher and Hernandez back to fitness

Rio and Valencia training well

cant wait for valencia back him instead of nani on the right

Believable8 Unbelievable19

Nani is far more talented than Valencia, but sometimes Valencia's simple style of play is more effective. I guess it's different horses for different courses. Although Nani has improved defensively, Valencia is very good at defending. It's a decent headache to have isn't it?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed it is Sydney, indeed it is..
ussoldier77

Agree0 Disagree0

Fletcher backoh great, the best news for everyone apart from man utd
please leave anderson and cleverley in the centre

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Nani is looking much improved this season, passing is a lot quicker and more direct.

Think Nani is 1st choice on the right for me now.

Agree0 Disagree0

I prefer nani on the right than the left, he tends to score more on that side also, but the crossing and the ability to pass at the right moment has to improve fast

Agree0 Disagree0

Great news re Hernandez. I for one don't rate Valencia, he has the odd game where he shines but crossing is poor, doesn't score anywhere near enough goals and disappears in games. IF you think of previous occupents of that position over the years he is average at best.

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun , ask Rooney who he prefers on the wing and Valencia will get the nod everytime. The strikers get slot more chances from valencias direct crossing. Parkie

Agree0 Disagree0

'Shaun'

That is a bit harsh, Valencia is a better player than Bale and Bale is gods gift to some on this site.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun,Valencia goes missing in games?Nani s biggest problem is he is so inconsistant

Agree0 Disagree0

I imagine if anyone in the team is asked it would be Valencia; it must be frustrating Nani taking an extra 5 seconds to pass every ball, his poor decision making, passing and vision being the cause of every United play being broken up. I hope he is dropped very soon. I'm incredibly excited about the new season, and the thought of Nani playing the majority of it makes me anxious.

Jack

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry guys but valencia is one of the most out and out widemen in the premier league, his crossing is not poor at all much better than nani

the only reason nani may be believe to be better is cos as valencia stays out on the flank, nani can either cross or come inside.

and as for goals, i dont care if he doesnt score the guy above is right, i put my money on rooney prefering valencia's crosses. the 09/10 season there valencia played some beautiful crosses of which rooney got his head or foot to most, less than most actually but still a fair few

Agree0 Disagree0

We had some other portugese guy on the right wing who took some extra touches and wasn't liked by everyone in the team i am sure. can't remember what happened to him? I can't help it just don't think Valencia is up to our standard. Shame because Perez might have brought him for £80m

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun ur a **** Valencia is 1 of the best crosser's of the ball in the prem if not the best the balls he crosses in r so dangerous and he don't mess around he goes straight down the wing and crosses it in i would rather see that than someone messing around with it plus Valencia is more powerfull, faster and better work rate by miles could play him in the middle like he does for ecuadour

Agree0 Disagree0

Next you will be telling me how good Gibson is

I think you would not know a good cross if it smacked you in the face....literally

Monday night Nani produced two fine examples of the perfect cross, in my opinion Valencia could not produce such quality. I also challange your point he about him getting straight down the wing and putting in an early cross. I watched all the games last season and remember numerous times where he spent ages messing around "trying" to get around his full back and ending up with a backward pass.

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun , you must get yourself to the game instead of listening to it on five live Valencia anytime to nani. Parkie

Agree0 Disagree0

I prefer Valencia 9 times out of 10.

His direct play is much more suited to our style than the over elaborate Nani.

A small part of me dies every time Nani fart-arses about on the ball rather than use it.
I think Nani is a good impact sub though.

Just like to add that I think Nani seems like a really decent guy. Still prefer toni though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Both players are top quality and the fact they are so different is great for our options. Valencia is amazing at defending and can fill in at RB. He is fast, direct and a very useful player, not sure what Shaun is talking about, but as strange as it is it's still his opinion. Nani is a very talented winger/forward, but can be frustrating. I am glad we have both players at the club. Young, Park, Valencia & Nani are all very good wingers and they all play for our club. Cleverley is no slouch on the wing either, he can play either side and he is without doubt the best crosser of the ball in the squad.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why cannot we put valencia in central midfield?? and still have nani and young on the flanks
surz

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget the players voted Nani as player of the season, so I'm not sure who they prefer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said syd. both players are top notch and offer different styles of play that will be more benfical against different teams and setups. looking at last season nani was fantastic. He contributed towards 27 goals in 33 prem games. No one can argue that these are not fantastic stats for someone so frustrating, and whilst Velencia is more direct and does tend to cross the ball first time (this is why rooney would prefer him at times) i do not see him contributing directly as much as nani does in terms of assists and goals. either way we have them both on the books ad i hope they both have fantastic injury free seasons.......

Vermaelen is a doubt for the game on Sunday. Sir Alex must be happy with that as he's been carrying the Arsenal defence for the last few games. I wonder who they'll play now?

Matthew...

We tore Arsenal apart when they had Cesc, Vermaelen, Nasri, Wilshere etc etc, we also destroyed them last season when we played O'Shea, Gibson & the twins in midfield. I don't think we will have many problems this weekend. Our attack will be too strong for Arsenal. Not sure how many we will put past them, but we will make over ten goalscoring chances, I have no doubt about that.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling we could seriously give arsenal some hiding on sunday, 5 or 6 nil i'm predicting (i know this sounds a tad bit optimistic). Without vermaelen they are going to be terrible at the back. They have no Wilshere, Gervinho (although havent seen much of him to be worried tbh), have lost Fabregas, Nasri, Clichy......

Now is the time to completely rip them to shreds. Hopefully fergie will go all out attack which i'm sure he will....

Cant wait :-)

'Robbo'

They are missing Song too, I don't rate him that highly but he always plays well against us. Even though he should be sent off most of the time.

No Frimpong either, so they ar eshort an enforcer in the midfield

This could be the point were wenger cracks after his side take a beating im guessing do to there lack of players available 4 or 5 nil come on the reds

Does anyone know when Darren Gibson contract runs out? I heard it was summer 2012 is that correct? {Ed007's Note - Yes mate}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

He'll most likely get sold in january, providing his ankle is fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't we sell him to some medical research company for them to experiment on injury recovery techniques?

The reply above has to be the GREATEST ever I totally agree...

Right, David Gill said he "thinks" there will be no more signings. Meaning there most likely will be one more, similar to the Berba transfer (correct me if I'm wrong). Unless we've signed someone but not officially.

I think we may as well keep the squad we have until January and see how we do in the CL, then sign someone if we need to...

Believable6 Unbelievable12

The problem waiting until January is that if we did need another player they could be cup tied by already playing n the champions league ,,, im happy with wat we have got anderson is lookn really sharp and cleverly i think is going to be top top class i think we shud try them this year give them a good test they mite nit have the experience but you have to be played to get the experience ,,, and ino its not ideal but rooney is really worth his weight in gold as if anderson and cleverly are struggling he can always drop bk as rooney can really pick a pass but who nos wat wil happen between now n the 1st of September but i am more than happy with what we have got anything else is a bonus ... stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster - is it not likely that the best players will be cup-tied in Jan and therefore will be of no help to us if we struggle in the Champs Lge? Ganso apart, put he is unproven

1st replier - i too like anderson and cleverly and hope they get plenty of oppurtunities this season. BUT buying an experienced, creative midfielder now will help give us a fair crack at Barca/Real/whoever in Europe and it WILL NOT stunt the growth of our young prospects. just look at Smalling last year - was never 1st choice but ended up playing well over 20 games (i think) due to injurries etc. and showed SAF just how great he is. if you ask me putting pressure on a youngster like Cleverly to play 30 - 40 games this season and to win the midfield battle against the likes of Shi##y/Chelsea/Barca could be worse for his development if he runs into problems or poor form. use him as rotation and when others are injured and he should develop nicely at a steady pace and maybe be one of our top performers next year.

i would love to see Sneijder/Goetze/Modric(unlikely now i know) come in to help in the Champs Lge IMO

Thats it folks it seems to be the end of our spending for the summer reading david gills comments on united's website, Little dissapointed we've managed not to get a marquee signing.

Roll on Sept 1st when all these rumours can then stop for 4 months. Am excited by a team containing YOUNG lads all desperate to wear the Red shirt and who will show those Blue noses from across the city that the Red Flag is flying high and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Sneijder / Nasri were deals where the money was too important and it was much more refreshing to hear Jones & and Young say how GREAT it is to be associated with a club like ours. They will be the foundation stones for the history of this club for the next 10 years.

Morning guys.

Some big, big, BIG news that I've had to sit on all night due to the servers crashing at my work yesterday.

I currently work in a post-production company snuggled in a cosy area of Covent Garden, our main clients are foreign distribution companies sprinkled with some of the middle ranging British ones.
However from time-to-time we do get some celebrities in due to showreels etc. Some of the Spice Girls and Cilla Black (don't ask) have been past visitors.

Anyway to get to the point, yesterday afternoon some of the office was buzzing due to the impending visit of another footballer. We have occasionally dealt with some players with regards to their 'showreels' etc.

In the past dealt having dealt with players such as Nedum Onahua and Micah Richards (urgh), I was somewhat nonplussed, however my ears did person up when the player was announced to be Jack Rodwell.

Obviously we've been linked with him in the past, but due to loss of form and injuries that potential transfer had seemed to have died an early death.

The point of his visit was to collaborate footage into a showreel to send to interested clubs as (according to our editor) the boy wants out of Everton due to the lack of investment and the worries about where the club is headed.

As the majority of us here are United we insisted our editor ask him in the most jokey/banterish way if there would be any chance of him turning up at Old Trafford, to which the response was apparently a grin and "we'll see".

Attempted to get a photo with him but as he was in the edit suite for the most part of his stay I was unable to. Looks like Messrs Gill and Fergie may be telling another porky

Believable4 Unbelievable18

Got really excited when i started reading that only to find out that it was mr jack rodwell that you were on about.. i really don't rate this player that highly, really united quality?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well another english player if we get him, but where would he play, not sure if we are in for him, think £10 million would be enough to sign him now Everton are potless

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather keep the cheque book closed than buy a very over rated lump like jack Rodwell..... average at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't doubt your story for a minute. Jack Rodwell wants to leave Everton? Who wouldn't. But seriously, what else is he going to say to a direct question about whether he is going to Manchester Utd? Inside he meant. 'I don't care who it is but that would be nice' The hyperbole was a little pre-emptive

Agree0 Disagree0

Not wanted hes not ebven a regular for Everton would be another Bebe signing would not get and a game and be released a year later. Could be used to play alongside Carrick in an attempt to make Carrick look average instead of piss poor as normal.
Goetze and Kagawa thats who we need young and hungary not just 4 money

Guys why are you all writing off Sneijder as some greedy fool who won't accept a wage drop? Not one time has there been any statement from any of the parties involved saying that he won't drop down to 190,000 a week or whatever sum is being quoted. I still don't know if we're gonna sign anyone else this window but let's face it, none of us have any clue.

If fergie says no more signings we say "hmmm...its his old trick" but now Gill has confirmed that we are not looking to sign anybody..he said we've looked at a couple of players, one of them is definately Sneijder..but obviously the deal has stalled...He blew his chances
So thats it guys...our team is finalised...come 31st Aug midnight, we're gonna have the same team with no more additions..

Believable21 Unbelievable2

Would fergie and gill rule out returning with a bid for sneijder assuming he he wants to join just because he said no the first time? would be a bit stubborn if so because he'd fit the bill like no other

Why hasnt the team photo been done yet bit wierd??????

so finally, sentence has changed from "no value in the market" to "happy with the current young very talented boys"... conclusion is same... no money, no proven quality buy again this summer also.. BRAVO SAF, BRAVO GILL, BRAVO GLAZERS, if this would have come earlier, i wouldnt have wasted hours daily checking players united links with.. i hope till January we survive well... rodio17

Believable14 Unbelievable8

Errm...didn't the Glazers just spend >50m this summer? Aren't those players bought this summer playing pretty well? How much is enough? 75m? 100m? 150m?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't care about spending loads of money, I only care about getting another body in midfield.

Obviously they do have the money though otherwise they wouldn't have spent money on another winger.
Problem is that only a handful of midfielders are good enough and in any way available.

Hard to accept but true.

I have done the same as u all summer wasted half my life checking these things morning noon and night . We really do need a big signing though we all agree. lets live in hope it still happens.

Man united dilly dally as Arsenal prepare a serious bid to snap Wesley Sneijder..United should show some initiative here.Fergie will lose out on sneijder

Believable5 Unbelievable14

If you seriously believe this story then you are very dim.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yes Snjeider would move to Arsenal...........not. THey have hust lost to of thier best players. Have been on the decline for a while now albeit still just capable of 4th place but this year i think they will finish 5th/6th for Europa league

Agree0 Disagree0

Aresnal refused to meet Nasri's demands, do you think they can honestly afford Sneijder's. Not a chance That would start a player revolt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah cos if we cant afford his wage demands then Arsenal certainly can. They are renowned for throwing money about

If Aresenal cant pay Nasri £120,000 per week, how are they gonna pay W.S, £200,000 per week?? "Come on son"

Lookin at what Gill actually said and he used the word "think". Now if you were sure that you weren't gonna make anymore signings wouldn't you leave out the "think" part to avoid speculation etc etc? To me, he did not sound 100% certain..

Believable12 Unbelievable1

You're spot on, because things can change so quickly. What if Sneijder were to hand in a transfer request? Would we still not make any signings. I don't think so.

I do hope the story I read about United and Mario Goetze is true. They said that United were inquiring about what it would cost to acquire first refusal on Goetze and also that Goetze is a big United supporter after watching the 99 final. I think this would be ideal as Im ok with the squad we have now, think Sneijder is dragging on too long, and believe that Goetze is the next superstar to emerge. Also, it would allow him to gain valuable experience in Germany and Europe, making him ideal to join next summer when players like Carrick and Giggs are likely to leave, opening more spots in CM alongside Anderson who has taken one spot as his own.

If we don't sign a midfielder, maybe it's a good thing to look at one during the CL. Realize who will be the best option. Kagawa and Gotze will probably prove themselves in the real competition.
