I know you don't buy into this Ed, but after hearing reports that the Glazer's are meeting with Qatar Holdings this week in the USA, do you think that is anyway related to the elusive date of 27th of December?

Wishful thinking most likely.

Merry Christmas everyone.

United have lots of players they are keeping tabs on. The two players SAF really wants are Rodwell and Hazard.

The problem being Hazard would prefer Madrid on Arsenal. He is going to be amazing - would cost far less than Bale and has far more to his game.

Yet again Manchester United are eyeing a move for Real Madrid's France international midfielder Lassana Diarra.

Haha not a chance, he's 100% spurs bound if they don't get Scott Parker from West Ham!

{Editor's Note: This is from the Daily Mail of course - but not new news hence why no one is running with it. This loss drove the likes of Cole and Ballack not to have their contracts renewed - saving the club over £10M a year.}

@I don't know where he got his info from, most of his info seems to be about Fulham but he's been hearing things about his own club lately. Its common knowledge that Ballack & Cole were let go for money reasons and they are missing the depth of their old squad right now. I will tell him to stop worrying as the finances next year should be improved by at least 20m with new sponsorships and a lower wage bill.

Although its still going to be hard for Chelsea to cope with this ruling in a years time, i think Chelsea will comfortably break even but i think they will no longer be in the market for top earning stars and pricey transfer fees. But then again not many teams will be.

Ed do you think players fees will come down in the future because of this ruling? I know wages will stay as they are but surely fees like 30m for Pastore will be more like 20m in five years time?

Sydney!

{Editor's Note: The club owners only signed up to the new proposals for fair play as the selling point was the transfer fees dropping. If that does not happen, then (a) clubs will ignore the rules; (b) players will simply not move as often; or (c) UEFA could well be replaced by a different body or supplemented by a second governiong body (the breakaway Sharkey believes will happen within 10 years).}

@I did post a similar post yesterday but it never got edited. Maybe there is a Chelsea Ed and he thought he would not show it but i will try again, here goes!

I have heard a rumour and it is only a rumour that Carlo Ancelotti will not be given any funds for January, or certainly not much. I have been told by my Chelsea boy that his club is about to announce a 45-50m loss. Even thought the squad was stripped down to the bare bones in the summer. Although this is not good news for Chelsea, it is good news for us. We all know that Real Madrid & Barcelona rarely spend big in January, with Chelsea not spending big to rival our bids for players can only be good news for us. Of course we have City to go up against in the market, but if we are going to spend, with Inter skint and Chelsea, Real & Barcelona out of the running for players, it can only be good news for us if Fergie chose to take advantage in the January window.

Sydney!
