RVP to City for £225k per week. Deal supposedly agreed back in March. All that's outstanding is the fee.

Last I heard Gill has announced 2 more signings on the way.

Personally, I'd like to see either Alba or Baines in a united shirt for the first signing as that position is an absoulte must.

The second however, I believe we either should take a creative midfield player, such as Thiago from barca or Modric from spurs as Sidguddson is now on his way there.

Otherwise, Lewandowski from Dortmund would be an excellent choice, as would James Rodriguez with a 30m+ bid being submitted allegedly. Rodriguez looking very likely, he can play CM, CAM and on the wings. Opinions Ed? {Ed007's Note - Who was this announced to?}

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Probably Mr Gill told the contract cleaners that look after the upkeep of his office......lol, are you assuming Evra is on his way out, and why??? agreed Siggi goin to the spuds.....but Modric aint arriving, Lewandowski!!!!too many sherbits dude, he's a legend already at Dortmund, cant see us getting him.......Rodriguez to risky right now for that price...remember Bebe!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Peter Bolton ed, the guy go's to every united game, home, away, abroad, he go's to every youth and reserve game too unless they clash, he's pretty in the know!

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks to Alba. Cheating diving smurf - more suitable for Uefalona.

This is taken from unreliable source on Twitter.

MD

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay Baines deal will sealed on Thursday, we are in talks with Strootman as well. So are those the only signings we will get..Modric? What's going on with Alba?

Agree0 Disagree0

Got all excited when you said the news was AWESUMMM and Then you said BAINES... boring and could not care less....

he is not the signing we need and is not the signing that is going to transform us. will he be a good addition to our squad yes... but i would not say this is awesum

Agree0 Disagree0

Well iif this is true, I am incredibly un-excited Baines is nowhere near Man Utd class, would prefer to give Fabio game time than bring in Baines

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont want Strootman! M´vila instead!
Hopefully talks with Real will break down and we can go for Modric. I would pay 32m for him in all honesty he is that could and will have a huge impact on the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Awwww, his name's like my name! :-(

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is no better than evra, why would signing him excite us, or make our day?

MaccaTheRed!

Agree0 Disagree0

My name is a bit like your name as well.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Also, why is the site continuing to post these age old blog posts from Yash? Iv'e always got the opinion that this is just an attempt to span message boards so that people search the same text on google and end up on his site?

I could be wrong, but I know that Eds have been annoyed by this in the past?

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard the fee is going to be 17m for Baines cash only deal.

gylfi sigurdson is apparantley joining spurs after a fee was agreed with hoffenheim so this is a sign that modric could well be on the move. Hopefully the modric rumours will start to get momentum now!!

Leebo

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Doesn't he usually play in more of the Van Der Vart role? i.e. attacking mid or 'in the hole' if you like

Gav

It more accurately indicates that Van Der Vaart is going to Schalke

Question for Ed007 if he's around?

I saw you mention the other day that MAYBE a bid of £25 Million could tempt Real Madrid into selling Ozil?

Do you believe this is the case? Out of all the players in Europe that would suit what SAF is trying to build, with the exception on Ronaldo and Messi, Ozil would be a dream.

I also see people keep mentioning M'Vila? I got the impression that if he were to move to the Prem then Arsenal would be his likely destination? I've heard he is a United supporter but have we genuinely been linked with him?

I still think Strootman should be pursued but was thinking maybe we should test the waters with a bid for Vidal? As Juventus look like they want every CM in Europe and Pirlo's performance's at the Euro's may earn him another season with them, surely they need to make room somewhere? Maybe we are reluctant to deal with Juventus after Pogba's situation though?

Sorry for all the questions, any knowledge or whispers you may have heard would be grateful, thank you.

Ports {Ed007's Note - Yes I believe that to be the case regarding Ozil. Everything else has been covered already on the site.}

Believable7 Unbelievable12

Would love to see özil and m'villa in a man utd shirt(even if its the worst jersey ive seen in years) and then alba in lb. Özil 25 mill euros. M'villa 17 mill. Alba 12 mill so 54 million well spend with the addition of kagawa all ready done would be a strong team

Agree0 Disagree0

If ozil is available for 25mil then what the f**k are we waiting for, blokes in the top 10 on the planet IMO and would be an absolute steal at that price

Gpot7

Agree0 Disagree0

He's never available to us at that price . If you can ask yourself would city offer more or Chelsea and higher wages he would come to us . Madrid know how good he is after how he's performing at the euros and how good we know he is. Would go back Bayern before us for that amount

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Gpot 7 he is one of the best attacking mids in the world! only thing is that i dont think he could fit into a 442 and we have just got kagawa for the attacking CM option...

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007
Can explain why a bid of that little would tempt real to sell a top class young midfielder who starts most games and every big game for the club, I can't understand why they'd sell someone of his quality at all it would cost more to replace him.

Dustbin {Ed007's Note - The abundance of MFs and the financial situation at Madrid means that they could be tempted. I am only responsible for what I say and write, I am not responsible for what you hear or interpret.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree for 25m he would be 1st signing all day long so makes you wonder why, and how come no-one has come in for him

oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa won't play CM. Check out this line up, not gonna happen but hey-ho.

De Gea
Bla Bla Bla Bla
M'vila
Ozil Kagawa
Valencia Rodriguez
Rooney

Is there any team in Europe who wouldn't find that terrifying.

Kai {Ed007's Note - Depends how good the Bla brothers were IMO.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil for 25m! you are having a laugh? he will be one of the first names on their teamsheet and has been influential in Germany's euro campaign.
Andy Carroll for 35m and ozil for 25m; you'd think that the game was run by monkeys of that was the case!

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye Fergie sign them up ! I hear the Bla brothers are the next big thing from khazakstan team Oodyanickyabollokov. Would take a combined fee of 2 bowls of rice and a goat to get them. Fergie said he was waiting for value in the market.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is absolute twaddle. If its thought Ozil is possibly available for £25m there would be several teams would have made the bid already. And you blurt on about sky sports spreading rumours. What a joke, Id bet all my possesions Ozil doesnt move this summer unless its for a ridiculous fee more likely more than double that amount, what utter rubbish

Ed002; not really heard many rumours in the last few days so I was wondering if you could list the players that we have shown interest in recently? I noticed that you'd done it for someone on the Spurs page so it would be highly appreciated, especially after the heart break of last night!

I'm sure it'd keep a lot of other people happy as well, or at least for the time being anyway!

Thanks

rpc {Ed002's Note - Ask tomorrow when I may have more time available.}

Any chance of this being answered today Ed002?

Thanks a lot,

rpc

{Ed002's Note - We are not going to do questions on these and some have moved elsewhere and others it may only have been fleeting interest but my understanding is that, amongst others, Manchester United have considered at one level or another the following players recently: Adryan Tavares, Armero, Asamoah, Azpilicueta, Benatia, Cissokho, Clyne, Corgnet, Debuchy,, Dede, Elm, Eriksen, Fischer, Gaitan, Ganso, Javi Garcia, Giroud, Goetze, Santiago Garcia, Hazard, Kagawa, Konoplyanka, Kovacic, Mateo, Lewandowski, Javi Martinez, Moura, Lucas, Muniain, M'Vila, Ramirez, Powell, James Rodriguez, Sneijder, Strootman, Witsel, Wolfwinkel and Xhaka.

Thanks!

And of course the obligatory partridge in a pear tree.

Red bear

Santiago Garcia and Corgnet are two interesting players on that list. Striker and a 'box to box' midfielder. Relatively cheap as well and would probably be the ones that blide side us and come in probably.

Modric an lewandowski

Clyne & Pogba

Cabaye and Baines...but if the Nani situation gets no better I'm hoping we'll get Rodriguez as well.

Kai

"clyne & Pogba"

your on the wrong page Scouser.

Cretins and the Emu.

Agree0 Disagree0

Worst insult ever callin a manc a scouse.
I hope all this Pogba business will be solved soon. Tunners, Petrucci, Powell, Clevs & Pog could be a dynamic force in midfield for the next 10 seasons.

As for Clyne i'd also snap him up 2m.
if it don't workout you'd get 6m for an English player i'm sure.

Just stating my defence.

In a fifa/pro manager blah blah world which alot of us dream about is yeah.....
1- Modric or Sahin
2- Alba or Baines
These would complete UNITED.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its modric and rvp just watch this space

Agree0 Disagree0

If its FIFA world can we have messi and iniesta . Let's not sell ourselves short of we're gonna dream x

Agree0 Disagree0

Would Think it is Clyne (He can play LB aswell as RB) and finalize the deal for Angelo Henriquez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyne again , I'm so sick of reading his name , rafael and fabio are slated on here but he's a mega star in the making, difference a passport makes eh

David Gill at the old boys golf day has just confirmed hopefully 2 more signings no names.

I think it would be safe to say two from
Baines, Modric, Strootman or Rodriguez. Forget a striker.

Believable20 Unbelievable14

We will sign more than two more players. I have no doubt about that. Perhaps he means significant signings or perhaps he is just saying two so fans will be happy when we sign more? RB, LB & CM are three must sign positions. I think a striker isn't out of the question either. Perhaps a LW is no longer on the shortlist and Nani will be kept, much to many's disappointment ;)

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - I still think we need two sign two midfielders. Would love to see a midfield of M'Vila and Modric}

Agree0 Disagree0

RB is hardly a must sign position, we have Rafael along with Smalling and Jones who can both cover. It's going to end up being a LB (probably Baines) and a CM (Strootman / Garcia). Any other position and it'd be a bonus.

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

Rpc, neither Smalling or Jones are RB's so this is probably why we are very interested in Nathaniel Clyne to challenge Rafael. However you are probably right that RB is probably not a 'must sign' position. After missing out on Hazard perhaps the club see Nani as better than the rest that's available? So perhaps our left wing hunt has stopped? We 100% need a midfielder and we 100% need a LB I completely agree with that. We have been heavily linked to Lewandowski so I still think we will see at least three more signings. Time will tell I guess.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewandowski would be an odd signing though, we already have Welbeck and Chico as goal poachers it seems strange that we'd spend a lot of money on a striker who's not going to be an automatic starter. Wouldn't surprise me if a more experienced, older striker was brought in though.

Who knows about Nani, for him to truly fulfil his potential he has to play on the right but with Valencia there it's hard to see him ever getting a prolonged run of games. Maybe this is why Fergie think's now is the time to sell for a big sum then replace him with a natural left winger ala Rodriguez.

rpc

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont understand the aversion to Lewandowski.

Remember we had 4 strikers from 1998 for quite a while (Cole,Yorke,Sheringham,Solskjaer then RVN and Forlan came in when others left)

With Owen leaving and Berba odds on to join him that leaves us Rooney, Welbeck and Chicha. Will Keane would have stepped up but is out for the season and do really expect Macheda to fiannly cut it?

I know he wouldnt be a priority signing (LB and CM first for me) but id love to see him at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

For the past few weeks, since the Nani/Rodriguez rumors started, I had tried to defend Young for the LM position. But I'll eat my words and say we definitely need a new winger...his play the the Euros was pretty bad, and I think he showed that he can't handle pressure situations (not just the penalty, but in more defensive instances). That being said, I think we need an experienced LB to back up whichever LM we go for, especially if we don't end up getting one at all! Baines has that experience and I think he would really be a great signing for us. I'm not too concerned about RB, I felt Rafael had a good season, sure there were some rough edges but I can see him really coming into himself this season, and Jones can play as a RB...as he did so a few times this season. In terms of midfield, there's only one player we need to look at..Cabaye. He's exactly what we need, both a play maker and someone who can break up an attack. I'd easily offer Newcastle the same money for him that we were apparently going to offer for Modric...he's a more versatile player in my opinion. As for strikers, we need to make up our mind where Rooney is going to play. On the last man with Kagawa behind him? Kagawa in the middle, Rooney deeper and someone else on the last man? If the latter is the case...we need another striker! I'm a big fan of Welbeck but he lacks the flair of other players around. I think we should loan out Hernandez, get him to a team he can score 20/30 goals in a season and get him back in a years time to reap the rewards. Baines, Cabaye and a striker (not sure who, would love Lewandowski but would Dortmund sell their two best players in a few months?). As for LW I have no idea...haven't seen much of Rodriguez! Maybe Kagawa on the left and put Young in a more central attacking role? He played well there in the Euros when Oxlande-Chamberlain was on the left! Anyway, just some thoughts on the current situation!

Heaing a bit about Robbens future. Would he fit our needs out on the left. Granted he plays on the right at BM. Would be a cheap option.IMo.
Papers linking him to city but have they not move there attentions to another striker instead of Dzeko now?

Also my last rumour is Erikkson who has been scouted for sometime.

Simon.

Believable3 Unbelievable30

Munich hve moved there attention away from dzeko may i edit.

Simon.

Agree0 Disagree0

May have a reasonable fee but he's on a lot of money at Bayern.

Agree0 Disagree0

With the players we have moved on and are set to this market im hoping there would be the kinda money he would ask for, been available.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im sorry but just no, he can be a ball hoger and is argumentative. Wouldn't fit in at United.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF didnt think so a few years back.
good value imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a arrogant 1 dimensional twerp,

would not want him.

Cban

Agree0 Disagree0

If I remember right wasn't he set for a move to us before joining Chelsea?, I know he had been to Old Trafford on at least 1 occasion and the rumor mill seemed to think it was a done deal, he then opted to move to Chelsea, not sure whether SAF would give him a 2nd opportunity, good player but as already stated, can be disruptive influence by all accounts, be surprised if anything happened on that front, but hey, Fergies surprised us before!

Charla

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed pal. I dont know of an other winger that offers as much as him other than ronaldo perhaps.

Cretins and the Emu.

Agree0 Disagree0

You dont want robben around the club he's a drama queen. I just can't see him and fergie being the perfect match

Agree0 Disagree0

Huge wages, huge ego and too self-centred for United IMO. No doubt he has bags of talent but he doesn't seem to channel it well. You say he's cheap but if you take into account both wages and transfer fee (which is only sensible) he will be far from cheap
