Luke Shaw IS on his way to Manchester for his medical and to finalize the move.

I'm hearing £25M Up front, rising to £33.5M with Add ons and instalments.

Quite a lot of money, but he's looking a decent prospect.

By the way, I've been spending a LOT of time in Holland recently, due to having some Family over there and the word over there is that Depay will NOT be joining Manchester United this summer.

United are interested, but the fee being asked is a lot more than what United would want to pay (in the £20M range I would assume).

Depay is happy to stay for one more year apparently before moving on.

TV now also reporting the Shaw medical. Go Ed!

Believable23 Unbelievable7

Yeah tv saying fee agreed, with medical to be arranged. Come on united this is more like it.
Very happy with the herrera deal and now with shaw seemingly imminent. Just a quality cb and wide player and i'd settle with that. A second cm if i'm been greedy :)

Ed Woodward has been a disaster in the past, but if he can pull off Herrera and Shaw in two days, credit where it's due.

A fantastic couple of days Seems David May was right :) in a perfect world we would wrap the week up with James Rodriguez and Mats Hummels and then I think we would stand a very good chance of winning the title next season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree with u domi b. if we could get someone like robben and hummels that would be class. Would finish in top 4 wiv 2 more signings

Ed if you have a sec, do you know whether or not we have actually agreed a fee with southampton now? SSN reporting it on tv as well as details of a medical tomorow but we all know how unreliable these 'sly sources' can be.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - A fee has been agreed for the club to be able to talk with the player himself and try to finalise a deal - perhaps a couple of days and we will know.}

Official statement from Utd website -

"Manchester United is delighted to announce that, after triggering the buy-out clause in his contract on Tuesday, it has signed Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera from Athletic Club in Bilbao, pending the receipt of the International Transfer Certificate. He joins on a four-year contract, with an option to extend for a further year."

Was reading a crap from Telegraph saying Bilbao rejected the bid! Would've liked Fabregas, but Still a very decent player. Very pleased indeed with not too late action from LVG and the board.

anyone else think that going in for Ashley Cole would be a good shout?

Free, EPL proven and IMO still world class

Believable5 Unbelievable24

{Ed002's Note - Hardly "free".}

Still world class indeed but we need to be looking to the future in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, it's time to build the next era which means looking to young future world class players.

Herrera reported to have passed medical and agreed personal terms

Maybe not a bad short term shout, rather than paying 34m for a 19yr old who has had 1 half decent season. Think shaw is a good player, but the figure being quoted for a left back is more than a goal scorer in Diego Costa. Ridiculous

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean wages ed?

{Ed002's Note - And a multi-million £ signing on fee.}

At the end of the day, we'll need to buy one lb and if we end up buying Shaw, it'll only get more costly. it's now or never.
