According to a close friend, reports in Greece are saying thay United will finally secure the young greek talent Sotiris Ninis.

Rumours were very strong last year, but according to sources close to the player, United wanted to let him mature a bit before bringing him to the prem. Apparently the player has already stated he would love to be the first ever greek to play for United.

Nothing as of yet has been confirmed, but thought I'd share anyway. As for the player, he is a great talent that could develop well at United. A winger/attacking midfielder that is good with the ball and has great vision.

Bobby68 {Ed002's Note - Ninis has turned down a chance to move to Schalke to join Parma in the summer.}

Believable6 Unbelievable32

Nice one ed2. Great way to cut out the BS. No more lies please!

Joe.a

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold up... although I'm inclined to believe ed2 on this - I must admit the info from Bobby68 could still be true?!

Although the Parma president has confirmed the deal, no info has come from the player - and in greece sports media they have not fully reported anything.

One thing we do know - is that italian presidents arent the most trustworth ;-)

hopefully this hazard saga is not gonna turn out like nasri or even snjieder...it just rumbled on and on and on...but what also is interesting is the leighton baines story...gaining momentom...but could this be a red herring..could we actually be looking to try and buy jack rodwell...me thinks he would be perfect for united...what does everyone think??

Believable10 Unbelievable29

I think it would be pointless to sign rodwell or baines

Agree0 Disagree0

Please not Jack Rodwell stories now. Hes too injury prone and at this stage hasn't developed enough for me to think he would be good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack Rodwell !! You must be deluded, we have enough average joe's, we need better quality than JD Im affraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ffs Rodwell is like some crap food you eat it keeps repeating, wtf would we want him he can't get into evertons team

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

In what way would he be perfect , an average player who just because he's young and English is made out to be good. He wouldnt improve our reserves but would def keep the physio's in a job, stupidest thing I've read on here for a long time

Agree0 Disagree0

Where will Kagawa play if we do buy him, his natural position is just in the hole where Rooney plays. I suppose SAF will play him out of position like he does a lot of players. He did this to Anderson and Carrick (to a degree) and neither player fulfilled his potential. Maybe he will play Rooney in front of Kagawa with Hazrd (if......) and Valencia either side. In this case we won't need another striker IMO. Two positions that certainly do need to be looked at are at right back and defensive midfield, although I think Jones would make a good defensive midfielder, I think he may be a bit suspect as an all out defender and I don't see him as a right back. Thoughts....

Nip

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is crap! I'd be happy with baines coming tho. Jelavic (spelling) would be a good signing. Really proved he can do the business in the top league.

Joe.a

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell would be a waste of cash. Baines or even better Fellani would be worth a bid. In fact Fellani would strengthen our midfield nicely. However, leave Rodwell in the Everton reserves, when he's not on the physios table.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you lot are being too harsh about jack rodwell...you all said hes crap and yes he has had a few injury problems this year...but he is a defensive midfielder with a good engine...got an gd eye for a pass and a good shot on him...him and hazard/cleverley in midfield would be awesome!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack Rodwell for LB? Yeah I can see that happening. What a moby!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini would be ideal for us, ripped us apart in the home game v Everton. He's only 24 too - top player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is too slow in possession for me. He was very good against us because we allowed him to be. For some strange reason we were not challenging him in the air from midfield. Strange tactic that cost us the game.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is a waster. No better, if not distinctly worse than (sideways or backwards) Carrick. Let's be honest city mullered us last year! To say we over achieved by scraping level on points with them is an understatement to say the least. We need a hell of a lot of changes to our general club running before we should ever consider ourselves the top boys anymore! Face it, if you go play football in Manchester it's for one reason..... Lolly. It ain't the weather, perhaps it used to be the Mecca of world football? Glazers have ruined us, 3 titles in last 4 years! How? piss poor league watch the city Arabs rule for years now. Financial fair play laws? I'll do the jokes!

Agree0 Disagree0

Idiots Would Baines or ( the floppy haired poor mans Carlton Palmer... I know how could you get a poor mans Palmer? Everton paid 15 mill for that! ) get near city reserves? No. That's right they aren't fit to lace boots.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir Alex rates him very highly and that,s why he manages the most successful club in England and we print nonsense on here. You all probably don't rate Carrick as well !
Get back to your fantasy league team and name great sounding names Huntalaer etc.
rodwell would make a sound investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally found someone who speaking sense...rodwell would be a good signing...most of these people on here are just united tv watchers...united have never and never will by the big name stars...pay over the odds for neither...we have bought potential that has been groomed the united way...edin hazard has potential...same as kagawa and rodwell..

Agree0 Disagree0

A year or two ago rodwell looked like a great young prospect, but he hasn't improved, and has spent too long on the physics table.

He may still become a top player, but right now the signs aren't as good as two years ago.

Thorne

Agree0 Disagree0

Nip i agree about playin jones in front of the back for i think ppl forget just how versatile jones is i rate him very highly hes the defensive midfielder we need hes toung and only goin to get better

Did man utd make 16 Million pound offer for kagawa and if yes then do u think dortmund will accept it ?

Believable19 Unbelievable4

They made a £12.7 million bid for him....which was refused. They want a bid of about £16 million to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will be offering anything up to £20 million to get Kagawa. Dortmund haven't accepted yet but im sure its only a matter of time. Kagawa has said he wants to join man u!

UNITED_LEGENDS

Ola John has just gone to Benfica. Does that spell the end for Gaitan?

Sanshine {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica in January but no bid was made. I understand that it remains the case that no firm bid has been made but Benfica are aware of sustained interest. Asking price is and will continue to be an issue. If Manchester United can agree a price I am told that the player would welcome the move. Interest from Barcelona and PSG seems to have waned and Napoli have another target in mind. Perhaps an alternative to Hazard if no deal is agreed with LOSC?}

Sorry to dissapoint you but a chinese side have snapped him up. He will join on a certain date, good thinking by you because most people never would include him. Very good point what you mentioned just unfortunate he will go to china. {Ed002's Note - June 1 for China I think.}

Have we made contact with Olivier Giround of Montpellier Ed?
I've read alot of stories about us being linked with him and that Sir Alex is planning to bid for him before the Euro's begin. Have you heard anything?
Would be a brilliant signing if we got him. Would be amazing to see him come in this summer along with Eden Hazard and Shinji Kagawa.

Breeno {Ed002's Note - It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Manchester United, Arsenal and possibly even Liverpool - Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier about Giroud who has let it be known that he has spoken with Ribery about a move to Munich and Arsenal have made contact with Montpellier. The player has declared an interest in a move to Italy, Germany and now England. I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor even Lyon so a move outside of France beckons.}

What! Dortmund have denied £13mil for Kagawa, i reckon 18mil and Man U will have him.

Believable34 Unbelievable3

£18 million is far to much for a player with only one year left on his contract. £15 million has to be our highest offer.

Agree0 Disagree0

£18 million considering the situation is a lot of money to pay, however when you think of Kagawas age and ability, he is an extremely valuable asset, and I can understand why previous bids have been rejected. We now need to decide whether or not to pay over the odds and secure the signiture of a player who can greatly improve our squad this season, or wait a while and try to sign him on a free, risking him moving to another club! Personally I think we should pay anything under £20 million for this guy. We will get the majority of that money back from shirt sales in Asia alone!! Also he is the attacking midfielder who will get into the box we have been looking for!

UNITED_LEGENDS

Agree0 Disagree0

If Kagawa wants the move he can push for a switch to us. Dortmund aren't in a powerful position with Shinji with only a year left on his contract. Don't worry!

A.R

Agree0 Disagree0

They want about 16million, seems fair.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't believe the figures being reported, I imagine we are playing extreme hardball and will get him for much lower than what is being bandied about in the press.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

We shud pay 17/18 Million for him as we no our midfield is crap if we to improve our attacks we need him i think fergie shud give 18 million for him

Agree0 Disagree0

18m too much for kagawa?REALLY?How much did we pay for young? Also 1 year left.
bLaZe/

Agree0 Disagree0

Youngs a class act don't act like he isn't worth the £16m we paid

Agree0 Disagree0

With only a year left on his contract? We should pay 15mil max

Agree0 Disagree0

So if they want 16 mill we do what, just leave him?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

£15m yes please, £15.2m no thanks ;)

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 million euros is a fair price for Kagawa. Didn't we bid some where between £21 - 25 million for Nasri last summer and he had only 1 year left too. I'd rather Kagawa to Nasri any day.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 May 2012 12:01:17
What would people think of signing demba Ba from Newcastle. He seems to be a hard working and humble player and knows where the net is. He was playing incredibly until Cisse was signed and he was moved out left which he still played alright there just nothing special. I personally think we will be playing 451 next year vs the big teams and Rooney will start however Ba offers a different style of play to the other strikers. For his reported 7 million buy out clause and him not being on big wages it isn't too much of a risk.
The red Manc
Ps means we are spending tonnes on a striker and we will have 4 good different strikers next season. Rooney, Ba, Welbeck and Hernandez

Believable13 Unbelievable27

Doesn't the guy come with a number of injury concerns? Not a bad talent, but not the signing we need.

Demba Ba is a tabloid signing, not a realistic one.

morning all...

kovacic will sign this week after meeting ferguson..the price is gonna be undisclosed....hazard will be signed after the england v belguim game...thought to be around 27-28million...united will then try and buy 2 more players which are not big names...i think one of them will be nathan clyne from palace...but the other one is not known....any ides people??? {Ed002's Note - Why would the price for Kovacic be undisclosed?}

Believable19 Unbelievable14

Very well made up

Agree0 Disagree0

So you're source told you we were signing an unknown player? I am sure Fergie and Gill dont just sit and say oh look nobody knows this player lets sign him and not tell anyone why. (nobody say Bebe).

Agree0 Disagree0

Kovacic isn't an unknown player.. And maybe because they wOuldnt want to put pressure on him ED?

BBR

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanx BBR but the last 2 players were my own thoughts...but it will be undisclosed for kovacic because of the compensation...it wont be told to everyone.... {Ed002's Note - Compensation? So according to French sources Hazard made his decision to join United a week ago and was ready to announce it but was advised against doing so by his agents, who were still negotiating with Chelsea and City. The story says that although United couldnt match the wages offered by City and Chelsea, Hazard is willing to make the "sacrifice" financially to follow his heart and play for United but his agents are advising him to "reflect further". Anyone else think this all sounds a little too familiar? Especially with regards Paul Pogba. Hopefully Hazard's mind is made up but I really wish agents would do one.

TK-Red

Believable27 Unbelievable6

It's similar to the Pogba situation, but perhaps a little closer in similarity to the Nasri situation. City offering three times as much to Nasri's reps as we were offering them, so player's reps will pressurise their clients to sign for other teams so they get to pocket more cash. Player's representatives are more powerful then many on this page think they are.

The Sun reports today say that Berbatov fancies a move to PSG in the summer.

I seen a rumour about KPB from Milan being linked with us. I'd like to see him at United but I think he may just be someone to fall back on should the deals for Kagawa or Hazard stall.

Benfica claim that Fabio has rejected a loan move to them next season. Reports say that Fabio will go on loan to QPR next season instead... I suppose that does make sense as Taiwo has gone back Milan.

Is it coincidence that we pay such high prices for players at the ends of their contracts ...damn this kagawa transfer still isn't finalised.

-Tiger-

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Longs the player wants to join us it'll be fine only prob comes when the player goes for money , that's when other clubs will stamp all over us , strange as we're such a profitable club but that's the glazers for you

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa for 15 million quid, about 18 million Euros is a bargain, even with just a year left on his contract. He has proved himself in the best team in a tough league. Hazard is priced at 32 million and has only played in the French league, which is far weaker than the German league. Hazard doesn't seem a world beater when he plays for Belgium. Axel Witsel looks good in midfield for them. United desperately need a couple of midfielders. Kagawa with Witsel/ M'Vila and a left back is more balanced then Hazard and Kagawa in my eyes and could be bought for similar dosh too.

Fabio has turned down benfica and will go out on loan to QPR next season.

Believable20 Unbelievable5

It's possible that the Fabio to Benfica loan was to be a sweetener for any Gaitain deal. Since our interest in Gaitan has now waned, perhaps Sir Alex sees it more beneficial for Fabio to gain some Premier League experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

This seems highly unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

25 May 2012 23:37:44
I am sure to disappoint some of you, but there is one simple reason of many, why Eden Hazard has no chance of joining United.

Firstly, Hazard has a great relationship with Lille. Lille will have 3 transfer fee proposals. Chelsea and City have offered 32m up front. The Glazers have taken 87m out of United's cash reserves leaving 26m available, therefore it is impossible to offer up-front terms. United have offered the same fee, but in installments.

In essence, Hazard could never go to United whilst City and Chelsea were seriously interested. As far as Hazard is concerned, the more the merrier to push up his salary. That is all that matters to him and his advisors at this stage, contrary to what he and his team wishes everyone to believe (playing time/position).

He will be given a 4 year contract with either Chelsea or City, with a 2nd/3rd year get-out clause in the event that Madrid or Barca come calling.

United are fully aware of this, hence the continued interest in Kagawa. Cheaper, better technically, and commercially sound for both player and club. A no-brainer! {Ed002's Note - There has been no discussion with Lille over money just yet - but it is imminent. It would not be out of the question to see at least on club offer a player as part of a deal.}

Believable5 Unbelievable29

Oh for gods sake - will people stop wittering on about cash reserves - we may not sign Hazard but if we do not it will be nothing to do with cash in the bank.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

So how do you know this bulls**t

Wot about the 7m we might b geting if berba goes to PSG, and the 90k a week in wages wel save

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly you work in the accounts dept at Old Trafford - otherwise we might think those numbers were plucked from thin air.....

Agree0 Disagree0

United have well over £75m in the cash reserves as we speak. The £26m was the figure from January to March.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dats a big lie. Let me just tell so you will know hazard wanted to announce his club as manchester united last week. But his agent told him to wait and he said his transfer would be based on playing time and he knows dat he can get all time to play at Mancity and chelsea managerial problems so united shoud be his first choice and he has agreed terms with all d 3 clubs. When ferguson met him him he said that fergie explained an exciting project to him of what and how unite would be like he should have annouced his club as united last week but his agent advised him to wait and think of his future club. Infact man utd are offering him 150 thousand pounds man city 110 thousand pounds

Agree0 Disagree0

And it's negative fans like yourself that we don't want to see.
Be positive, not all players will move to clubs on money alone, and in this instance with his father having a huge involvement in hazards decision it may be the best chance for him to develop into an even better player at united.
Remember oxilaide chamberlain? His dad persuaded him to go to arsenal over united as he'd get more playing time to develop.
We've got more to offer him than just money
Hallis

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not dissapointed, i posted last week we would not get Hazard, but was confident on kagawa, now thats looking dodgy, with Dortmund playing hardball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't be surprised to see Nani being offered as part of Hazard deal
Paulo

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it me or does anyone else get totally pissed off with others going on and on about cash reserves. Man Utd are the biggest sporting brand in the world generating more money than even the NY Yankees. It's no hidden secret that the Glazers want to float on the Singapore stock exchange. Once this is done Utd will be debt free. Trust me I hate the way they have dealt with Utd but what they are is businessmen. Our commercial revenue has gone through the roof since they took over and they are now sitting on a gold mine waiting for the right time to make their move

Langers

Eds, do you think that if we sign hazard AND kagawa then nani will have a price on his head? Plus what are the chances of us signing a centre midfielder? {Ed002's Note - It is near impossible to answer compound questions (for example, what will happen to Rio if Javi Martinez and Thiago Silva both arrive) sensibly. As for Nani, I would not be surprised to see him go regardless of the arrival of Hazard, Gaiton, Ramirez or whoever.}
